Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Asuka heard the door close, her first meeting was over but now came the next one. Paperwork, for once, was done. She could leave and go home, rest, go train some of her skills. She could be doing a lot of things, instead she had to deal with this. The gates were a very important for the village, the borders of the village, were people came in and out of the village and ever since frost, she wouldn't be taking any chances. Let alone have this kind of procedure continue.

Asuka had sent a letter to the individual, summoning them to her office. She had heard of what had transpired from someone who had first hand knowledge of the event and she wasn't happy with it. Not happy at all, so now she waited. Hopefully the person would show up. If not, Asuka would gladly search for the one who was responsible.

“Hi my name is Hasagaya, I work the rose shop, Roses are us and I have a delivery for Ms. Kami! Would that be you?”

On my off day I found myself answering the door ready to kill the one who was knocking. However, this one came bearing gifts from perhaps a secret admirer. Perhaps I could excuse this intrusion on my sixteen hour nape-athon just this once.

“Why yes I am, you got something for m-“

“You’ve been served, have a nice evening Ms. Kami.”

I looked down and took the scroll that was handed to me. It was light in weight, cheaply made and sealed with the Main Branch Sennin’s stamp. I slowly looked back up only to discover that he was no longer in sight, “Son of a!” There was no use crying over spilled milk. Especially if no one was around to hear it. I opened the scroll to read its contents. A vaguely written summons to meet the Main Branch Sennin at her office and a hit time was all that could be discovered. I rolled my eyes so hard that I checked out my own ass. After a brief sigh, I ran to grab my crimson leather coat and jetted out the door wearing only what I had already been wearing. A long dark tank top that read “it’s all shits and giggles until someone giggles and shits,” some red and black checkered polyester pajama pants, and white Shinobi sandals. Both sandals had a large black check mark on the sides. I drew those in with a black permanent marker a few weeks ago. I was trying to start a trend...
In no time I found myself at her office door. I couldn’t help but wonder if she had called me in today in order to make good on the breaking of my bones or whatever. Naw... that was so yesterday! Perhaps she just wanted my expertise in artistic expression. I’d shrug before knocking on the door.

*knock knock*

Asuka held her hands to her chin as she waited, after a few minutes there was a knock on the door. Finally here, she just hoped to get this done and over as soon as possible. She didn't want to over extent this conversation. "Come in." She simply said, looking directly at the door as it opened. Once Kami had entered she sighed, signaling towards the chair. "Sit down." Her voice was serious, and she was about to find out what she wanted.

They were a few moments of silence, where Asuka didn't speak but her gaze didn't leave the girl's. Asuka wondered how she should start all of this? Straight to the point? Finding more information? She was a believer that they were two sides to every story so she decided to go with that tactic. "It was brought to my attention of something that happened at the gates when someone wanted to enter the village." She recounted the events, a sigh escaping her lips.

"I didn't like what I heard at all." Her voice firm and determined. She clearly wanted to know more. "But before I tell you exactly what I didn't like, I want to hear your side of the story. Tell me, what the hell happened at my gates? Why did I get a complaint about you?"

Once I received the go ahead, I would cautiously enter. Each step was exaggerated as if I were in tip toeing through a dark dungeon eerie of the trap flooring. I’d make it to my seat somehow and found that I was still alive. A bonus, all of my bones were in tact. My eyes would wonder about the room while I sat slightly slouched and of bad posture. I wanted to see just how she’d kept her office but that was short lived as Asuka made things awkward by starring. Well, perhaps not awkward but it felt like her eyes were burning a hole through my forehead. You’d think I’d already be accustomed to that sort of glare. Strangely, it made me want to stick my finger in my nose. I fought the urge naturally and would instead greet the starring with a smile. Swiftly following with the dancing of my eyebrows up and down.

Suddenly the silence would break with that of Asuka’s mellow tone. I listened intently, unsure as to where this was going. Her voice grew stern and I began to crumble in my seat. Wait what? The expression clearly present on my face. Who would make a complaint about me? I mean, I’m adorable! My eyes grew shifty as nervousness crept in. I had no choice, I had to confess. I’d scoot my chair back in a panic before falling to my knees. My head bowed and my arms stretched out before me.

“I confess! It was only two twenty once bottles of saki! The traveling merchant was having a sell and I know we aren’t supposed to drink on duty but but... it was sooooo goood. I swear it was only three times and it’ll never happen again Asuka-sama!”

I don’t know who the hell snitched on me but they were sooooo dead. I’d peak up at Asuka to find a puzzled look on her face. That’s when it hit me...

“Thaaat’s not what you were referring to is it? You know what never mind that didn’t happen, I don’t know why I said that...”

I’d rise up to rest on my knees. My eyes just bearly reaching over the desk. The puzzled look on my face was likely matching Asuka’s at that moment. What exactly was she talking about? Maybe it was that time I convinced a couple of the travelers to moon the other guards? Ha Hahaha aaah... that was classic.

Asuka puzzled look was certainly on there. Oh god, this was even worse than she thought. She needed to keep this under control, but of course that would mean she had to place her Sennin robes on. Pinching her nose Asuka sighed. "You just keep making it worse for yourself." She said with a big sigh "Look, I'm meaning about the mercenary at the gates. Thankfully, the gates are main branch territory so punishment is my call if I deem it necessary."

Asuka face turned really serious, not even blinking she continuedI am giving you a chance to clear your name, explain your actions. I am giving you ONE god damn chance to explain your stupidity." She kept repeating herself. "I'm giving you ONE chance to change my mind about sending your ass back to the academy and have the teacher's beat some sense into you." Maybe she would have to, maybe she wouldn't. Point was, that was a bluff. They were too low on Shinobi, she just hoped Kami would be honest.

I’d blink several times in response. My eyes still just above the desk’s edge as if I were hiding. Slowly did I rise back to my seat before scooting it back into its original place. So this was about the Tomatoe girl? Oh thank god! The list of shit I’ve done at that gate, phew. I’d stare back at Asuka allowing sometime to pass before answering her. Not for dramatic effect or anything but because, well, I didn’t understand what I did wrong. I would clear my throat before speaking to avoid the nervous choke that tends to happen in these moments.

“Well, I um... well you see... there was this lady with horns from the village hidden under a rock and she didn’t have a passport or know what that was because her people still live in the stone ages and haven’t discovered fire yet. And so then there was this puppy but it was actually a man. A man slash scooby doo hybrid and he was offering apples that weren’t ripe and asking this poor demonic looking traveler all these complex questions that she couldn’t understand and so then I, I had to step in. I introduced myself and I took that poor creature by the hand and selflessly escorted her around the village. Introduced her to some food, culture, wine and other activities that’s probably best kept between us girls. We talked all night about where she comes from, it’s location, there culture, food, people, fighting abilities! Pretty much everything about her.”

I’d blink slowly. Allowing it all to marinate... you see, amateurs interrogate at the gates and or inside prison cells. They say that happy drunks tell no tales and I can personally attest to that. Cheers!

“But ya know... if you still want to send me back to the academy, I mean that’s cool. I mean, I was only like, doing my job after all. It’s not like I was more successful in espionage than Fido at the gates by going above and beyond the call of duty or anything. Yeah, I’m just so stupid...”

Asuka listened to Kami closely, she wished her reasons were good. She hoped her actions were justified, instead they were quite stupid to say the very least. It wasn't as though the decision she took was wrong, it was actually a nice move to help someone in need. But who she helped and the how she did it was what Asuka couldn't agree on. She sighed, taking a few moments before making her decision. It was a hard one. She sighed once more. How could she take care of this without looking like a dick? The correct choice would be to demote her for stupidity. Letting in a stranger without the proper procedures.

"Although the Gates are opened for everyone to guard them and process visitors. It is not your job. Phoenix gates are managed by the main branch, hence why you're sitting right now in front of me." She sighed in annoyance, this girl certainly didn't know how things worked around here. But she would learn. "Here's where you did wrong."

Asuka straightened herself up, going to make a point. "You helped someone out of the goodness of your heart. That's something you don't have to change. What you HAVE to change is who and where is that kindness given to." She continued using her hands to simulate her point. "For all you may have known that horned lady could've been an S-rank missing-nin who could've slit your throat the first chance she got." She spoke harshly, wanting her to know what could have happened. "A frost spy, which even though we are in a truce, I don't trust them. The questions are there to flush out undesired people."

She held up her second finger. "Two, you undermined the authority of a Chief Medical Nin which is the same as ignoring a Head Jounin or an ANBU captain." She pointed her two fingers at Kami "My problem with you is not why you did it. Is how you did it. Your stupidity could've been a liability to the security of the village. Which is my priority. Your stupidity could've cost lives. I don't take those kinds of risks."

Asuka took a piece of paper and started writing on it. "For that reason you're taking a this." She kept writing "To Yukio, and having a meeting with him. Until Yukio personally sends me a letter stating that you're stupidity is gone you are not to come NEAR the phoenix gates." And the cherry on top "If I see you near the gates, a demotion is going to be the least of your problems. Am I clear?"
Letter to Yukio said:
Yukio

One of your ANBU had an incident at the Phoenix gates, she let in a stranger from an unknown land without looking at a passport or asking the appropiate questions. She ignored and undermined a higher ranking Shinobi present (Chief Medical Nin Ranji) and left as an escort which could've been a liability to the safety of the village.

And I will not tolerate that.

As of today, Kami is banned from coming near the gates until you fix her stupidity.

With love

Uchiha Asuka

Asuka sealed the letter and stretched her arm, letter in hand for Kami to take. Before she could Asuka jancked her hand away. "This letter has a seal, I'll know if you open and read it's contents. Do not open it. Do not let anyone but Yukio have it. All right?" Asuka stretched her hand once more

I sat there as I was being talked at. I listened carefully up until she said “where you did wrong.” From there, I started to only half listen. Because the voices in my head started arguing with her about how we, I mean, I’m never wrong. It was hard to make out what Asuka was saying because of how loud and obnoxious my mind got. Something about a horned lady, that’s racist. Then a frost spy, I’m surprised that we’re still talking about those pansy’s? Chief med nin the same as Anbu captain, as if. That’s definitely the fairy branch where they kiss your boo boos and sing kumbaya as they circle jerk each other. And then there was that word again, “stupidity.” I’d give a blank stare to greet that comment. She’d hand me a scroll after giving me instructions to deliver it to Yukio. She was especially and expressively clear that she wanted it delivered and not opened. I’d take the scroll begrudgingly before standing and heading for the door. But then I stopped and turned back. I walked back to her desk because I had something to say.

“Stupidity, behavior that shows a lack of good sense and or judgment. I got it. Sort of like rudeness to an ambassador or diplomat of a foreign village. Because that’s never started a war and cost lives. Ma’am, you may think that my actions and decision were wrong but the fact that I am standing here like a moron with no lives lost must mean that I was, undoubtedly right. On average, how many lives are lost in times of war? It would have been a shame, if our fear and paranoia had caused smaller villages like our new friend’s, to ally with our real enemies. Just food for thought.”

It’s not that I didn’t understand the rules or necessarily disagreed with them. I just understood the need to think for yourself as the rules weren’t flexible like the situations that may occur. Sometimes you had to improvise especially when faced with the grey areas. Well, I had to be grateful for somethings. It looks like I got to keep my rank and pay... at least for now. I’d nod to the Sennin before heading out. Once on the other side of the door I’d maturely make faces and mock her. Probably not my best moments but hey. I guess I should go drop this scroll off at the bosses... mmm, perhaps tomorrow. It was my off day after all.
