Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

How long has it been? Days? Weeks? Months? Years even? The one downside of her condition was that she didn't need to sleep meaning that the days seemed to blend together. At times it was near impossible for her to figure out where one ended and the next began. A maddening, endless loop of stagnation. Her sense of time was in constant flux. This made waiting all the more difficult. She felt trapped in an endless void. She had waited patiently until now. Waiting to hear something. Anything from the others, but nothing. Maybe they had forgotten about her. Regardless, she couldn't wait for them anymore. By the time she had travelled from Crater City to the gate night had set in. The moon painted the area in a cold blue. Sumiko didn't know how to feel as she saw the imposing structure. Nostalgic? No, she had very fond memories of the village beyond those gates. Normally she knew exactly what face to wear in any given situation. Why now was she at a loss?

"Halt!" The man's voice was commanding. She rolled her eyes, tired of the tedium. "Identify yourself!" Sumiko sighed, somethings never change.

"Yasuda Sumiko, if you check your little book, you'll see my name there, I'm sure." She pointed to the man's chest pocket. "I'll save you some time. I have not come here looking for hostility. I request an audience with the Hokage. I have some questions that need answering about the whereabouts of someone. That is all."

It seemed that Ishi was always finding himself at the gates for some reason or another, he wasn't sure this time why he was here, however, that being said once more he was answering the call at the gates, walking forward his eyes focused on the girl that had turned up, after all, that is what exactly she was a girl, nothing more and nothing left.

"You know, your tone doesn't help, demanding an audience with the Hokage, well it goes with your looks, that of a childish girl. No, you are not in the books, you are not a missing ninja and thus not a threat to this village, so let me ask you before we do decide to get the gates messy. Who is it you are looking for? As I am afraid to inform you today you will not be seeking an audience with the Hokage. Lord Forth isn't a revolving door for anyone to come and see on a little tourist visit"

Ishi made no movement to acknowledge the gate guards, after all, he was here and dealing with the situation, it would be interesting to see what would be happening but he was ready if anything did happen, after all, that was his duty to the village.

Toshi stayed back, watching the Captain take this one. He still wasn't familiar with his senior, though he did stay in line when it came to gate duty. With his bird mask concealing his face, and a tan shroud concealing his body, the boy tried to listen in to what was going on. With gate duty being slow these days, it was everyday one would see a shinobi strolling through. With the recent on goings, it wouldn't be surprising to see another be denied entry into the village. No harm done if they were denied entry, though if let pass, the boy knew to keep a look out in the streets of the village.

'I can barley hear anything.' The boy thought to himself as he continued to watch what was going on. He shrugged it off, if the Captain was up, he was sure the situation would be dealt with without any troubles. The boy continued to keep guard however, knowing that things could get out of hand from past events.

Lord Forth. Now that piqued her interest. When she was escorted from this place it was Asuka who was in charge. What prompted this change? Could this explain why she hadn't heard from him? Seems that coming here yielded more questions than answers. Those would have to wait, at least for now, it wasn't the reason that she had come all this way.

"Appearances can be deceiving." She replied off-handedly. "I apologise if my request seems discourteous." She bowed in a show of civility. "I would like to speak to someone regarding Yamanka Nobu. He is a..." She searched for the right word to describe their relationship. Friend? No. Nobu didn't have friends. Accquetnace? No, he meant more to her than that. Brother? That was the closest description of their bond. Their relationship dynamics were difficult to explain. "That doesn't matter, he advised he was coming here, which must have been months ago and I have heard nothing since. I am sure you understand my concern. As soon as I have the information that I seek I will be out of your way. You can return back to whatever it is that you Anbu do around here." She sighed. She hated dealing with the triviality that came with human interactions. "Look, he is the closest thing to family, I just want to know he is at least ok." She softened her tone, hoping she would have more luck.

Ishi watched the girl, the wind gently whipping at his robes as the breeze cooled him down as he looked towards the newcomer, he allowed himself a few moments to listen to the name being spoken, if anyone could have seen the Captain's face it would have soured at the name being mentioned out loud. As he pondered for a few moments there was no point in keeping secrets at this stage, no they needed to make sure that nothing bad was going to happen from this situation, so instead, he decided to go with a very direct approach.

"Yamanaka Nobu, previously the ANBU Captain, was killed in action inside of the village, presumed by Missing Ninja."

He let the words sit in the air towards the girl, watching her every movement he would not hesitate to react if she tried anything. The news was direct but it was the truth, there was no point in trying to cuddle it up and put it in a nice phrase, no this time he would be direct as was the best approach.

"So I guess the big question from this would be where do we go from here? What are your intentions, and the truth can hurt but be warned, any outburst and I will bury you next to him"

The boy caught a few words of the ANBU Captain that was now deceased. He thought of the snapshot that he kept of the culprits that left the gates shortly after the crime. What made matters worse was the fact that he stumbled upon the scene of the dead captain while out at the Hokage Rock. He wasn't in time to catch what happened to him, or if either of the two that left had actually killed him, but they were very suspicious nevertheless. The boy looked to the girl, wondering if the news of the dead captain would give her some type of over emotion. Hopefully it wasn't something that the new Captain would be bothered with. If need be he'd console the girl to keep the Captain away from such troubles, but all in all, it was about the safety of the village at this point. He figured she'd maybe just walk away? It sounded like the best case scenario, but he wouldn't dwell on such thoughts.

As he almost knew things would get tense, he kept his guard up, careful not to cause a reason for the girl to attack. The Captain seemed that he was ready for anything as well. It was best to let the situation play out, he had nothing to add at the moment.

The words that feel from the man's lips had all but confirmed her suspicions. "Idiot." She muttered under her breath. She shook her head. Sumiko knew the emotions she was supposed to experience. Sadness. Grief. Sorrow. But it had been ages since she felt anything. Feeling them was a struggle. "I always said he would get himself killed." She laughed softly. "Though I'm surprised that it was serving as your Captain. The bastard never fails to surprise me." She took a deep breath. Not really sure what to do. If it wasn't her father controlling her life, it was the Clan. Without Nobu leading them, they would soon fall apart. "I will offer my services to this village, in return, I want vengeance. I want to find the people that killed him and make them suffer. If you give me that I will be the tool that you can use in any way that you see fit." Her words for that of determination. The girl knew that she didn't need the permission of the man in front of her to track down Nobu's killers but having access to the information that she was sure he had would make things a lot easier.

She waited for his response, her gaze never leaving the mask that covered his face. This would go either one of two ways. It didn't matter if she was welcomed back or not. It would change very little about her next move. Sumiko would find who killed Nobu.

Ishi listened to the girl speak, it almost made him laugh that she was proposing this, but this call was above him and he knew that much, as he pondered for a few moments thinking about the options in front of him, he sighed to himself for a few moments before nodding to the girl, grabbing some cuffs from his belt he walked towards her for a few moments.

"Call isn't mind to make, that is for the Sennin, however, I do require these on you if you are going to come inside the village, we can escort you to her. AiT that is in the shadows, this is gonna be your task, bring this girl to the ANBU Sennin, see what he makes of her. I am sure you can follow those orders?"

Ishi would wait for Toshi to reply as he wondered if the stalker would show his abilities and step forward and up in the situation after all Sumiko would need to speak with Keiji, it was his branch and his decision to make, not one that he could make easily and right now he needed the man to see the girl and speak with her. After all he needed to make sure that there was nothing at play here.

"You will be escorted to the Sennin, resist, try, and run and the assigned ANBU here has orders to kill you, without hesitation or mercy, I am sure I make myself clear, once the cuffs are on you will go straight to the Sennin to discuss this situation."

[Toshi ordered to escort Sumiko to Keiji]

The female held out her arms. She really didn't see the need for handcuffs but she wasn't about to argue. She hadn't come here looking for a fight so she would submit to his wishes. For the time being at least.

"I'm not planning on resisting," She looked around the area when the man called out to someone else, she wasn't even aware that they had company. It was clear that she was a little rusty. "I will go willingly with whoever it is that is escorting me to this Sennin. Thank you for your time." Sumiko waited patiently for her escort to lead her away.

Ishi looked over to Toshi, it seemed the boy had remained quiet, concealed at the moment. That was ok, he had asked a big deal from the boy and he was still an ANBU in Training, as he turned back around he put the cuffs on the girl turned on his heels, and walked with her, escorting her towards the cells as he would need to summon the ANBU Sennin to meet them, after all it was his call to make on this.

"As for you AiT come to find me when you can, I want to have a discussion about your future aspirations inside of this branch"

With that, he was gone with Sumiko.

It took the boy a moment before realizing that he was called forth. He didn’t expect to be of much use here, and missing the last bit of dialogue the Captain gave him made matters worse. He could only wonder what he was called to do. He stepped forward, now close enough to give a general description of the girl. The girl spoke up once more, saying that she’d be escorted to Keiji and arrested, not resisting a bit. This was interesting to say the least, he wondered what Keiji’s take would be in all of this. He still wasn’t quite aware of where this was going, but he was sure he’d gain a bit of information as time went on.

As the Captain told him to come find him later, the boy nodded. He didn’t expect anything beyond, “pay attention next time”. He returned back to his posts, deciding that he would find the Captain after his shift ended.
