Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Character's Physical Description: Where once was a short, thinly athletic boy is a tall, lean young man. An olive-skinned lad, he strikes a disciplined balance between strong and agile - a healthy diet and consistent training has turned him into, of all things, a martial athlete. He bears an angular, stoic and slowly-maturing visage: he still looks very young, but there is little remaining in the way of youthful chub to his cheeks and jaw. His hair has darkened, interestingly, to a deep, reddish-black - as if the very flames of hell has blessed his appearance. It is still long, reaching down past his waist when it is not contained in a braid or bun. Fiery red-black eyes, like the brutal flames they conjure, seem to blink a lot less than they should.

Character's Mental Description: Once an incredibly hot-heated, quick-to-anger, and downright dangerous boy, Kosuke is more of a warm, smoldering bonfire. Far more quiet than he has ever been, he can be called rather tame by most definitions, calm and collected even when confronted with that which would have made him explode into fiery rage. His eyes are still rather sharp, in them lurks something more dangerous and deadly than before, and it is not uncommon for one under his gaze to feel intense scrutiny... Even now, even after his training refocus into discipline, there still lies in him the ever-burning monster of rage. The focus was never to remove it, only control it when it needed to be controlled. Kosuke remains the brutally efficient killer that creates the very fabric of his soul, but far more refined, far more discriminating than before... And now his small, restrained smile is genuine, and they reach those dark eyes enough to dull their edge at times. Where once his face was smooth, now come the beginnings of laugh-lines and smile-wrinkles. His quiet laugh is still a rarity, but those who had never heard it would find it far more common than they thought possible.

Character History:
A Shinrya Minor Branch brat, the only thing that Kosuke had going for him for his entire life was his classification of a Class 1 Recruit, despite showing absolutely no connection to his Uchiha roots past his natural affinity with Fire. It was as if he was gifted with everything but those eyes. Those eyes that he could feel eternally holding him down, chaining him to service as some mere Shinrya brute. Without the immense power of the Sharingan in his arsenal, the only path that his parents and the Shinrya tutors could find that fit his temper was one that left his fists bloody with the ichor of his opponents.

It was like a fish to water, or whatever common idiom that would make sense with fire and fist. While it seemed like no one knew where his rage came from, where the passion that drove him to train longer and harder before he was even in the Academy, it certainly could be molded and made useful. Unfortunately, that power came with the cost of his childhood. The moment he was deemed as a boy with great potential, especially in a land with as few chakra users as Kumogakure, he was set to work. Friends, he had none. The only play he knew was sparring his bigger, stronger tutors. His life had quickly become one of drilling and priming for his life as a shinobi, and his complete inability to give up and quit meant that the only thing that kept him relatively sane was training.

As any child in Kumogakure, he was inducted into the Academy, albeit a bit later than many at age eight. He had been hidden in an effort to prolong his private training, and then released to become an official Student the day he turned ten. At that point, he was already more formidable than any other student, even those who were as naturally gifted as he was. To his peers, it likely seemed as if he was just a natural genius among geniuses, who grasped the simplest lessons on the spot because he was born that good. To his instructors, however, it was obvious what his life had been like up to that point - he already had a body that was meticulously sculpted for years to squeeze every bit of speed and power that could be found in the growing body, and his hands, especially his knuckles, had long since become tough and calloused from daily effort. His handle on his chakra and his abilities rivaled many of the instructors, and there were some that he could outright beat.

Whether it was illegal for his family to have trained him before the Academy was a question that was neither asked nor answered. Kumogakure needed shinobi, and what better than a Class 1 Student who was already trained to kill before he stepped foot in the halls of the Academy? It was little surprise to him, his instructors, and his family when he was quite suddenly given a Genin Exam that took little time at all, and he was granted the title of ANBU in Training. He was not even fully sure that he had passed all of the physical requirements, but considering the lengths he had gone in his youth, it was a moot thought.

It is an incredible task, indeed, to control the very flames that seek to indiscriminately burn down the world around him. Even more incredible is to discipline it, temper it, and give it such focus that the raging inferno can dictate what, or who, he burns or does not burn. A gifted boy with hellfire deep in his heart, Kosuke was far more out of control than he let on, far more than any person could have guessed. What he lacked in discipline, he made up doubly in ferocity, and his ever-raging emotions were soon found to be not only a hindrance to him, his peers, and his superiors, but an active liability. He was physically and tactically ready, he certainly possessed the martial prowess to be a great ANBU of Kumogakure... But his emotions, with his lack of control over them, put every ounce of potential in him at risk. It was to such a remarkable point that he, who hailed from the mighty Shinrya Clan, was completely unable to awaken his familial Doujutsu, the Sharingan. This only served to drive him madder.

Whether out of pity, out of concern, or simply because she knew how that pure, pristine rage forged his very soul, the elderly Shinrya Yuriko removed him from his village training and spirited him away in the dark of night to rectify his problematic behavior. Hidden in a remote portion of the Raimei no Seika Province, it took Yuriko every day of three years to break and reforge the talented, uncontrollable boy into a talented young man in control of every facet of his being. In truth, he hated every moment of it, every moment of intense discipline, intense scrutiny, every moment of drilling, castigation, and regulation from one much older and, at face value (but very far from reality), physically weaker than him... Until he didn't. Of course, it was not quite like a switch where he was unruly one day and tempered the next. No, Yuriko cultivated the flashes of mature brilliance in him day in and day out, using every ounce of skill, wisdom, and brute strength she had to drag him, kicking and screaming, out of mental and emotional mediocrity. By the end of his third year hidden away for individualized training, his very soul still possessed the ability to burn down every object and person in sight, but it was in such control that he became quite a pleasant, even fairly quiet, young man. It is now that he returns, truly ready to begin his next step in the world.

Limbo Training:
Thud-fwoosh, thud-fwoosh, thud-fwoosh, thud-thud-thud-FWOOOM. The steel pole that Kosuke had been using as a striking target was beyond blackened at this point, and on all sides, the imprints of his bare fist and fighting gauntlets could be seen. With every chakra-strengthened strike, a gout of fire exploded from his hands - every combo, however, was marked by a single, focused blast of scorching heat. He had been training here for some time now, enough that a steady billow of steam rose from his body from the sweat that evaporated on his heated skin. It had been three long, torturous-turned-pleasant years of physical training and behavioral correction. He knew from the first day what he was in for - Yuriko made sure he knew every detail of what he would be enduring. His martial training had not increased and become more challenging, so there was little in the way of improvement... At first he was angry about it, but then he understood the point of an intentional plateau - how could he grow stronger if he could not control what strength he already had? This had been the general philosophy, until he had finally awakened not only the Sharingan, but the Mangekyou Sharingan, as well - no doubt an extremely fortunate byproduct of the mental and emotional stress and torment he received in order to grow.

And so, this metal pole had seen the bulk, if not all, of what Kosuke could do. Everyday, it endured the same moves, the same strikes, the same combinations - and it saw how such a wild style had turned more efficient, more streamlined, more focused. Yuriko looked on from the modestly-sized cottage the two of them had called home over the years. It was a morning routine for them, for him to be awake at the very first light of the day, to eat and practice his striking, for her to sleep in a little longer and then come watch him train with coffee in hand. Today, however, was the first day that routine deviated, for she had not coffee in her hand, but a scroll. A scroll that marked his training complete and that summoned him back to Kumogakure, to the ANBU.

"It is time to go, Kosuke. You are needed back in Kumogakure."

Added limbo training for this week, which also gives a little backstory to what stress Kosuke went under to awaken the Mangekyou Sharingan.
