Character's Physical Description: Yuudai is a youth of average height and a slender yet athletic build commonly found in young shinobi. He has ear-length, straight blonde hair. His eyes mostly match the golden hues of his hair. Despite being healthy and living in the desert country of Wind, he does have particularly pale skin. He tends to decorate his clothing with colored beads, baubles and strands as accessories. His clothing generally consists of a loose khaki sleeveless shirt and ankle-length pants, with a green, thigh-length jacket over the shirt. The jacket has a faded pink inner lining and a swirling pattern in white thread on the outside. When on missions he replaces the jacket with a simple ninja's flak jacket, as well as wearing sturdy fingerless gloves and shinobi boots. He wears his forehead protector around his neck like a choker.
Character's Mental Description: Yuudai is a generally laid-back young man. Despite his considerable talent with chakra manipulation, he's quite lazy, which has led to him passing his academy exams by the barest minimum. He rarely gets upset, putting up a relaxed facade even when he is anything but. He's pretty easy to make friends with, having a good sense of humor and a generally affable personality. Yuudai does try not to let his natural talents show too much, even preferring to hold back in a fight so others can shine instead of him. This way he can avoid others having high expectations of him, and the pressure that would result from such a thing. This is in due part because he actually gets rather stressed under pressure, even if he is merely imagining it. It's rare for him to display it on the surface, but his performance anxiety can even affect him in legitimately dangerous situations.

Character History: Yuudai is the youngest of the three children of the Okabe family. Airi, his older sister and oldest sibling, is a talented member of ANBU, whereas his older brother Michi is a jonin in the general branch. Despite their young ages the two are talented and capable, scoring high marks on their academy exams and quickly rising up the village ranks. However, due to knowing them in private, Yuudai was exposed to the results of these high expectations as a young age. He watched his brother fall into deep depression every time he failed the village and their parents, and sees the increasing results of the pressure on his sister and the approaching burnout.
As a result, Yuudai never tried to fully do his best at the academy, passing every test only barely, even deliberately making mistakes sometimes. Despite his almost intuitive understanding of the theory, he did not want his parents to suddenly expect as much of him as they did of his siblings. He rarely studied and paid little attention to his classes, never aiming for the top spot and caring little if he failed. Though he was once frightened of disappointing his parents, over the years it became almost a habit. He made sure to just be an average Joe student without any stand-out results.
Eventually he managed to pass and become a genin. That hit him with a completely new kind of anxiety - after all, would he really be able to fake incompetence when real lives were on the line?
