Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Name: Ryuu Otami
Age: 15
Genin or Academy Student: Genin

Starting BL/CA: Earthborn

Physical:
Otami is tall and lanky, sharing some traits of both of her parents. Her ears come to small points to show off her Ryuu heritage along with a stature of a little over 6’ tall. Her eyes have the signs of heterochromia except that instead of each eye being a seperate color, they’re both green with blue flecks and her hair color reflects the same natural blond her father proudly carries; everything else is her mother. Her hair is usually bushy looking and a mess though she does randomly take the time to straighten it once in a blue moon. Her features are very wild and wolfish, including her canines which tend to be a bit predominant with her left canine often peeking past her lips. On more than one occasion she’s been mistaken for being related to the Inuzuka clan and has had to go into details on the difference between being raised by actual wolves and being raised by people who pretend to be wolves.
Her clothing tends to change with little regards to style and heavy focus on comfort. Clothing as it is tends to generally be an annoyance for her and she tries to wear as little of it as the village will allow her. For missions she she dons clothing more fitting for combat and wears her headband proudly when it’s go time.

Mental:
The Wildling is very much a creature of the Wind Desert. She has a weird innate sense to a lot of things, and can pick up on a lot through smell alone. Unlike her mother who was very outgoing and hyper as a youth, Otami tends to be somewhat shy to nearly a point of seeming paranoid until she gets to know someone and opens up. Then she’s more like her mother. She tends to be extremely curious, to a point of near haphazard, and will often push past her shyness to learn something if her interest is even slightly piqued. Otami also tends to be very hard to actually anger, and even when she does become full of righteous fury - it can be tamed with sweets. Her love for candy, particularly hard candies of which she crunches on as if they were popcorn, often supersedes any negative emotion for better or worse. Her love of sweets has even been known to be a battlefield distraction as she has nearly been gutted in training trying to save a peppermint that was knocked out of her mouth.

History:
In the entire history of Sunagkaure sits a very special handful of people that have changed and shaped the path of the Wind Country’s shinobi village simply by existing. Takahashi Okibi and Ryuu Tama. The former a ward of Takahashi Sousuke and the latter a problem child that was only allowed to live due to the whims of a terrible creature. Separately they each had very different lives. For no reason should the two have ever crossed paths. The day that Okibi curiously stumbled onto Tama’s lab and had her hair changed pink in a resulting chemical explosion shortly after, however, is still a day that the mad scientist still looks back on fondly. Okibi fell in love with the man’s quirkiness despite his dark past and Tama couldn’t understand why he couldn’t stop thinking about a woman of whom shared a gender he was literally terrified of. Despite Tama, the two did get together and had a few weeks of honest joy as a couple. Sadly, they were both people who were constantly followed by the dark forces of the world, and it was only a matter of time before that darkness swept them back off their feet.

Okibi had to run away. After everything she had gone through, it had become the only choice as she was unable to face the consequences brought about by another’s hand placed at her doorstep once again. Tama ran away with her, and it should have just ended there…but it didn’t. She had to fight off her lover who had become possessed by an evil soul, nearly killing him and thinking she had, before continuing to run into the desert pregnant with their child. She promised it everything she couldn’t offer, and just kept running.

Otami, the eventual daughter Okibi gave birth to, is the product of a Hybrid and a Wind Country Wildling; though she exhibits none of the traits of her father’s Ancient side. She is named after a combination of her mother’s name and her father’s nickname, and a more chaotic princess of the dunes the desert could not have asked for. She held all of her father’s ceaseless curiosity and all of her mother’s patience; which was none. Otami was born into a wolf pack, like her mother had before her, and was raised by wolves and the harsh desert for the first ten years of her life. After a new pack leader threw out Okibi and her child for being “too tamed”, the mother and daughter moved north into the mountains bordering Wind Country for a couple of years until Toraono Michino stumbled onto them. After a short conversation, Okibi agreed to move back to Suna to finally face everything she had ran away from so that her child could live a more natural life. She was already showing an affinity for Earth Chakra and the mother knew it’d only be a matter of time before her child would need to be trained in how to control her undoubtedly endless reserves given who her father was.

Returning to Suna was almost blissful, despite her hesitations. Her father welcomed Okibi back with open mechanical arms, and she easily intergated back into the village despite all those years in the desert. Life was actually really swell, save for one problem; her ex. Tama had indeed survived the savage beating, and very much held a petty little grudge over it. Even though he has fully acknowledged it was his fault for eating a bad soul, his Hybrid heritage of the Solar Courts won’t allow him to let it go. Thus, despite his best attempts at trying to stay away from someone who actually was his child this time, he began to resort into becoming an antagonist. It was mostly just bickering at first with a few loud arguments between the ex couple on petty little things; but it quickly became toxic. Tama’s inherent pettiness forced him to want to ‘win’ arguments no matter how wrong he knew he was. There had been times he even said something he was trying not to say, and brought Okibi into a rage that resulted in a physical exchange.

Okibi became terrified of what Tama had become, and was terrified of how he could now influence their very impressionable daughter. So after only a few short years in the village and getting used to civilization, she begged the Kazekage to send her daughter away to Konohagakure so that she could be trained and grow up away from Tama. The great Raizo’s first response was to ask if he should just put the mad scientist out of everyone’s misery, and deal with a pest that has long been a thorn in the village’s side; but she relented on that. It was unsure if Tama could actually die given everything he’s survived so far, and the last thing Sunagakure needed was Tama turning from a thorn into a knife. So it was decided that Otami would be placed in the trusted care of the Hokage and far away from her father’s influence.

From the moment she set foot inside of Konoha until a year later she was heavily monitored and given basic training. As a child of someone so supposedly infamous, Otami had a lot of big eyes on her for that first year, but she just proved to be as sweet and silly as her mother once was. Not a trace of Tama’s influence was found in her in the first year of training and, even when provoked, her anger could be quickly quelled with sweets. The village sent back a letter asking if they minded Otami becoming part of the Konohagaure military as a way of paying back for their protection. Okibi agreed readily, just to keep their child as far away from Tama as she could.

Otami’s further training went by just as easily as basics, and just as her mother had suspected, she did indeed have a very powerful talent for molding and controlling Earth Chakra. It came to her so naturally it seemed like the ground she controlled moved on her whims more than the seals written into the ninjutsu. It was more than enough to allow graduation as her peers were excited to see how far the power of a Ryuu could go under their direction. Now a simple Leaf Genin, Otami lives life without thinking of her past at all. It was part of the drive to live in the horrors of the Wind Desert, to always look forward and chase the sun, and the quirky girl lives largely by that wisdom. She may miss the desert at times, especially when it becomes humid, but Otami has fully accepted all the Leaf Shinobi as her own special dysfunctional family.
