Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

OOC: I am technically a Sunan, so I can enter just fine and all... but for my story it would make more sense being let in as this would be the first time my character has been to Suna ;)

The small caravan, six humans and two Sandrunners, would look very cramped and over burdened. Almost all of them, the animals included, would look like they had seen and been through something awful. The only thing that would go against such a claim, would be the smiles and laughter coming from a small boy and a young man with pinkish hair.

"So then, I had to fight this guy that was already two feet taller than me!"

"No way!!!"

"YES WAY! And not only that, but he did this..."

The man would mimic some hand seals, "and suddenly his upper body would turn into that of a lion. It was the strangest thing ever!!!"

"Woah! What did you do!?"

"I punched him, of course."

"Could punches really stop that kind of guy!?"

"Punches with fire could."

He would then wink at the boy before the Runners would come to a stop before the massive gate that surrounded that village.

"Woooooooooow, now that is impressive. This sort of gate makes the ivory walls of the Daimyo's palace look like a fencing for a garden..... HELLO!?"

He would begin to wave his arms frantically as he was not sure where the people who let people in might be at. His assumption that a hidden village would probably have more secretive security and more strictly guarded entrances. So he was just trying to get someone's attention.

"I have a family, the only survivors..."

He would wince at the comment before glancing back at the family. He would notice the pain in their faces and could not help but feel a pain within his own heart over their loss.

"... they are in need of shelter. They were attacked by some monsters I had never seen before. Creatures that looked human but acted like nothing of the sort."

"Lord Raizo... the other thing."

"OH! YES! I need to speak with some guy called... SOUSUKE?! Is that a person who is here???"

And now they would wait.

There would seemingly be a crack in the wall as the doors opened up. There was a solitary figure walking up and towards the young man and his scarlet haired female. The figure walked with a walking stick. Upon closer investigation the walking stick would actually appear to be an axe. It was a different way of using such a weapon, but it seemed to be its task. The figure was covered from head to toe in metal. For having a walking stick, the amount of time it was for the figure to approach the two was not overly long. The walking cane almost seemed to be more for appearance as the individual before them seemed ageless as a whole. "Step forward then. The way is open for those who need shelter."<i></i> Spoke the Lord Steward, Takahashi Sousuke the third. He stood to appraise those who entered. There was tiredness present in all of them. "You are not the first, and you will not be the last to be welcomed into Sungakure. I also ask that you bring peaceful intent while inside these walls. We have an undertaking to protect all of those behind our walls."<i></i> He would request. The Lord Steward would make a motion for them to begin the trek inside. The Lord Steward would turn his back to them for a moment and begin to walk back towards the gate. He would stop part way though.

"Ah. Right. Old habits die hard."<i></i> It seemed as if he had forgotten something. He seemed to remain motionless for a moment. His eyes would glow a low white. "I'm a Sousuke."<i></i> He would add. He looked at the two before him again. To people outside of Sungakure he was known as the Lord Steward. To people inside of Sungakure he was Sousuke. He was given pause for a moment. He had never seen these two before, but the youth knew to use the name 'Sousuke'. He looked at the youth intently. Chakra mist would burn out of the lenses. "Ponderous in the extreme."<i></i> He would state. He was running through various individuals who he had given his first name to, in the casual sense. There were features present. One that took the Steward more time than he would like to admit to notice. Considering his recent broadcast and actions, the man was running Sungakure as a whole at the moment, perhaps a momentary 'forget' was in order. Something Sousuke would be ashamed to admit personally. "I am Takahashi Sousuke."<i></i> He repeated his name a second time, this time including his surname. He would incline his head in a bow. "And you... you must be the young Ryuzaki Raizo? First of his name. I was informed of your birth over ... two decades ago, but I was unable to attend your naming ceremony. I was immobilized at the time. I did send you a gift all the same... whether or not you were presented with it is another matter entirely."<i></i>

His eyes would immediately snap to the metallic humanoid that appeared on the scene. He would notice not only the figure helping the family that had traveled with him, but also would start to talk directly to him. He, however, was awestruck in the face of the metal marvel.

"WHAT. IN. LEGATUS. NAME. IS. THIS. WHAT ARE YOU!?"

He would quickly dart around the Steward, like a child trying to take in the full reality of being gifted a brand new toy.

"What is this metal!? Is this armor or are you some sort of living metal!? Do you need this to live or is this for fighting?! Are you a spirit trapped within this material!?"

It would be at that time he would truly notice the craftsmanship of the metallic body of Sousuke.

"WOOOOOOOOW! My uncles would be impressed with this craftsmanship! You must be skilled!? Or did someone else do this?! Was it your village Journeyman? Do you have multiple?! We have a whole subsection.... man, my Uncle Ryohei would love to melt you down, I'd bet! HAHAHAHAHA!"

He would then start to slap the metal back of Sousuke, clearly oblivious as to how to act like a normal human. That would be until his attendant, a red-haired woman would smack him across the back of his head before she would bow to the Steward.

"Lord Sousuke, it is a pleasure. You are correct, this idiot is Ryuzaki Raizo, first-born of Konungr Oga, the current head of the clan."

Rubbing the back of his head, the now calmed down pink-haired boy would also chime in on the introductions. "Apologies, Lord Sousuke! As my attendant stated, I am Raizo, heir of the Ryuzaki clan. I apologize, I do not believe I received anything from you... and it is for that very reason that I wished to come here and talk to you... but before all that."

A determined look would be etched upon his face, one that conveyed whatever he was about to say was going to be 100 percent serious. Veins along his arm began to bulge and become more visible. A clenched smirk would appear on his face.

"I hear this land is still governed by Those of Bless Blood, the House That was Chosen... the Sunahoshi. I would like to challenge their heir to battle, it has been a long time coming, and something boiling within my blood says that this needs to finally happen.WE NEED TO GET THIS ON!!!!"

A very visible flame would coat both of his hands as he stood confidently awaiting whatever Sousuke had to say.

Sousuke was used to the ... explosion of sound and awe that was bestowed upon him by Raizo. The young man if anything showed spirit and large amounts of it. Words were spoken slowly and loudly. Sousuke was used to this, but he was trying to not resort to responding to the youth in the same manner, shouting slowly spoken words. First question. "I am the Lord Steward, and Guardian Protectorate of the Realm."<i></i> He answered the first question. Then came a second question. "Takahashi Fire-Forged Steel."<i></i> Then came the third question. He had to think about it for a moment. "Possibly."<i></i> It was possible that he was indeed living metal. The next question had two parts to it. Both of them would have the same answer. A very simple answer. "Yes."<i></i> Sousuke needed his metallic exterior to live, but he also needed it for fighting. It was not ideal, but it was the metaphorical hand he was dealt, in terms of the cards he was presented with. The last question in the first tirade would cause Sousuke to look skyward for a moment. He was looking at the blue sky. His gaze would shift back down after a moment of thought on how to answer the question. "I would not say that I am trapped."<i></i> He would answer cryptically. It was a bit of a sore subject. The Steward in this new profound state of existence was still working things out. The next barrage of questions came at him. He would answert all of them in a single go as it were. "I like to think I'm skilled. I built this wall and a number of structures inside the village with my fellow Journeymen... and yes there are several of us. Not all of them are like me."<i></i> The young man would reach out and clap him. The Steward felt out of place. He had seen people do this before, but there had to be some form of familiarity to it.

The young man was then... smacked in the back of the head?! What was... going on here? The scene unfolded itself and much was explained. The woman who had hit the heir was indeed the attendant. "Is... the beating liege lords common practice? I cannot say I've had it happen before, or be witness to it."<i></i> The comedy was fleeting. Properly introductions were provided. Sousuke would incline his head at the attendant. Raizo would reveal that he had not received anything from the Steward. He did not like the sound of that, but he was expectant of it. The Steward listened to the proclamation of the heir. He would step forward. Whereas the young man had a clenched smirk, he was met with the grim visage of the Lord Steward. "You heard correctly... until recently."<i></i> He would pause for a moment. Chakra mist burned out of the eye sockets and rise up. It seemed like there was a strained moment here. "The Sunahoshi heir is no longer with us. He is ... lost and I am unable to confirm his status. He was present when the... Swarm first revealed itself and he along with Lord Roku did battle with their leader. I am not sure of their fate. As such I have been calling all descendants of the First Men into Sungakure. I have called in my banners, I have called in those who cannot protect themselves to live within our walls. I am rallying the First Men descendants to defend these lands."<i></i> The words spoken were hard and heavy. "I cannot grant you what you wish at this time - to do battle with the heir. I can assure you an even greater battle is coming."<i></i> He would pause for a moment. The Lord Steward would offer himself though. "I am not the heir, I served him. Do you seek battle with me then?"<i></i>

His first would release its tension upon hearing the words of Sousuke. He did not need to even look at the metallic man, the words carried all the necessary context needed.

"My apologies, this news has not reached the Ryuzaki Clan... also, my apologies again, but I do not wish to fight you. My fight with the Sunahoshi heir isn't a fight between myself and them, but a fight that should have occurred between our blood centuries ago. Fighting a member of the House of Takahashi is not wanted, needed... or appealing."

The red-haired woman would clear her throat, causing him to turn and look at her. She would then make an expression that most people made when he had said something wrong or inappropriate. It would be at that time he would snap back into reality.

"Not that fighting you wouldn't be fun! It's just... you aren't the one my blood is destined to fight..."

He would let out a sigh as he wasn't sure how best to describe it all to the metal-bound man. The Ryuzaki and their tradition of fighting weren't meant to be just mere fighting, it wasn't an idea of hitting just to hit. It was a celebration. It was a trial. It was a conversation. It was a dance. It was meaningful. For him to pass along a challenge to merely the next available person, it was unsatisfying. To have taken up the offer would have been shameful, and that was before considering the fact that the Steward was clearly in pain. Even he, who was sometimes lost in the world of social interactions, could see that.

"Honestly, the lack of communication is why I wanted to find you and talk to you...but it seems that there is something more pressing at hand."

He would clear his throat as his fist would clench once more, flames returning to engulf the hand. His eyes would begin to glow with an orange hue as chakra fed into them.

"I, Ryuzaki Raizo, will take on the quest to find the Sunahoshi that leads this village and return them safely! Yu, gather up our Sandrunners! It is time to depart..."

He would pause for a moment, as the glow in his eyes seemed to dull. Yukina would let out a sigh as she had realized well before him what issue he was going to encounter. Then it would finally hit him as he turned his attention back to the Steward.

"...so where do I need to go to find the Sunahoshi?"

"Lord Raizo, don't you believe you are acting a bit hasty? We came here to discuss a different matter, this is not a responsibility for you to undertake so suddenly."

Even though she said the words, she already knew how he would respond.

"What more is there needed to know!? The Sunahoshi is in trouble, this village is in trouble without the Sunahoshi, I have an obligation to see that this is resolved. As direct descendants of The First Men, to willing ignore a call to aid a friend of our ancestors... what would Legatus think? I am the successor of the God Eater, I am the Dragon of the Desert, and I will see to it that the Chosen Bloodline is returned to their mantle!"

"You really do make good points at times, my Lord."

She also knew that he wouldn't be able to keep from ruining such a moment.

"And then once he is safe and rested... then I will kick his ass!"

For the first time in the Steward's life he felt like he was being insulted. It was an odd sensation. The Lord Steward was unsure of what to do. Was he being called old? It was not appealing to be... combated? Sure he did not have flashy techniques that cried for attentions, but he was a technical machinist. Raizo was being given a long look from the Steward. The glowing white eyes did not dim or blink or anything. "Okay."<i></i> He simply said at first. He then watched Raizo's attendant do the necessary thing. Correct him. In a way, Sousuke had a feeling that the attendant and him had quite a lot of things in common. Being the attendant and or Steward to a very ... enthusiastic individual had its moments. Given a few moments, a prodding the attendant did to Raizo what he had done many times to Katuso before. In a way it was actually entertaining to see it happen from the other end. Raizo, in his own way, apologized to Sousuke. It was met with a nod of sorts from the metallic man.

Within a few moments time again, that over enthusiasm occurred. This was why there were Stewards and attendants to a leader. It was to prevent them from endangering themselves. The Steward would allow young Raizo to have his show. His bravado was nothing surprising. Sousuke had seen it before. He had experienced it. In the over two decades of being a political figure he had seen this happen time and time again. Katuso over time had matured and learned to... temper himself. Raizo was in many ways a young Katuso. He was full of hope and full of flair. Sousuke only wished that during his time in power he had experienced this. Unfortunately the Steward had to deal with realisms, and had to instruct Katuso with him. Many times did he have to explain the concept of budgets, appearances, manners, and having to appeal to a wide audience. The Steward rubbed his forehead with his palm as Raizo ruined his moment. He too had seen this with Katuso. It was funny because Katuso was the older one, but despite his age his lofty ideals carried him highly. It wasn't a bad thing, it was just a thing that he had dealt with. The Lord Steward would make a noise with a simple tap of the ground with the bottom end of the axe. "Maybe... maybe you should just come in and recuperate. You had battled the swarm. You are perhaps tired from your journey. I've already deployed rangers on my second attempt to locate Lord Roku and Lord Katuso. The inbound report should be in seven minutes, and forty-six ... no forty-fix seconds. To send you back out into the wilderness with whatever injuries you sustained would be paramount to suicide."<i></i> He spoke in a calming fashion, like that of a father. "I appreciate your thoughts, but we do have to be smarter about this. In war we have to spend our resources wisely as they are finite. Yes, this is important to us and you understand it. I will not send you on a quest that will be the end of you. We need to regroup. Research. Develop a plan ... execute it ... and eventually you will have your brawl. Let's ... let's just enter first and then think things out."<i></i>

Now that the Steward mentioned it, he was a little tired. He really hadn't slept since they saved the family from the creatures and he had not slept well since before he left the Ryuzaki Estates. However...

"Smarter?"

Yukina's expression would grow grim as she closed her eyes, once yet again knowing exactly how Raizo would be reacting at this time.

"Lord Raizo..."

"Smarter?!"

She would sigh as it was clear to her there was no stopping this. She would uncomfortably smirk towards the Steward as she awaited what would come. Her Lord never claimed to be the smartest person, and he surely was far from it. There was a couple of areas where he did claim to be rather smart, and one of them was the art of battle. He could not, nor would he ever, stand someone questioning that aspect of him. So, she knew exactly what was going to come out of his mouth.

"Smarter... would actually be sending me out there, don'tcha think, Steward Sousuke? I hold no allegiance to this village, I am an heir of a clan that has staked their blood in being war ready, and I am asking for no compensation. My success only benefits the village while my failure would cost you nothing, me going out there to die would bring about the same result as if I had never came to this village, right? Unless you are playing a different angle, is this your way of welcoming me into the village as a potential war pawn?"

His question would be rhetorical as he would place his hand on his chin.

"I guess that is the same process I was explaining, as I am currently nothing more than a mercenary that has already told you I would work for you for free. So I don't see the need to butter me up more. Just seems like wasted effort when I could head out to the desert and get started on finding the Sunahoshi. So what is your play? I haven't even really explained my situation to you, yet you open you door to me willingly and show concern, whether real or feigned in order to use me, which would be fine as I have already stated it would be the best use of me in the current situation... so you are either an extremely kind man or a rather disastrous manipulator...either way... yea, I guess I could use a nap..."

His steam would run out mid way through this latest rant as he would let out a long and over the top yawn after completing it. In a zombie-like stupor, he would nod and wait for the instructions from Sousuke before proceeding.

"You hold no allegiance to the village."<i></i> He would pause, "You do have an allegiance with your kinship as a descendant of the First Men. That allegiance is not based on boarders, but based on something far higher than that."<i></i> He would continue to listen to the little lordling speak. He had valid points, but Sousuke would dissect those bit by bit like he had just done. He held his hands behind his back. "It's true. Your success benefits me, and your failure costs me nothing. Nothing in resources, but it does cost me a sense of morality with guilt. I pride myself in being an individual who is not morally insane."<i></i> He wondered if he would have to explain the concept of moral insanity to Raizo and his attendant. It was an odd concept, but one Sousuke took a deep pride in. There was a concept that the Steward was going to impress upon the young man. "We are all pawns."<i></i> He would begin, "Some of us are more fortunate to make it to the other end of the board and become something greater. When and if we do become something greater it is our responsibility to safeguard other pawns to make sure they do indeed make it to the end of the board."<i></i> The Lord Steward would pause for a moment. "Take what you will from that. I cannot force an idea into your mind and have it accepted."<i></i>

He regarded the young man well enough. "No. You haven't explained your situation to me either. I suspect there is a narrative to be had, which is all the more reason to take you in now. It would be terrible in the extreme if I had sent you out without hearing the story or reason as to why you have come at this time."<i></i> He would make a motion for the two of them to walk with him. "And yes I am capable of being both kind and a disastrous manipulator. More times than not I hope history remembers me more as the former than the latter. Now I can take you to my personal household or the Kazekage tower. The choice is yours."<i></i> The Steward would await the answer and from that the two of them would then proceed to one of two destinations.

"Yes, yes, yes... you win, you master manipulator..." he would say in a manner that seemed to be completely drained of any energy.

Yukina would once more smile and bow to the Steward.

"We are very grateful for your hospitality, Steward Takahashi Sousuke. On behalf of Lord Raizo, I would like to extend our gratitude and would love to accompany you to your persona--"

"TO THE TOWER!"

The outburst would be quickly followed by a yawn as his body would hunch over and his eyes would return to being glazed over.
