Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Shashu had a sneaking suspicion that something would come crawling up through the depths as she followed her squad across the dark chasm below. In all the stories horrid monsters always struck from above or below, places that no one looked, and her own limited experience had proven those routes of attack to be the most viable. People tended to look ahead, from side to side, and even behind them, but no one looked up or down until it was too late. Hence her ascension to the ceiling: Nothing was getting the drop on them from above while she was up here, and from this vantage point she could watch below as well.

Which, of course, mandated that the catwalk would give out of it's own accord and the huge demonic-looking creature would squeeze through a doorway at the other end. Shashu sighed inwardly at the sight. Of course. And our fearless leader is stranded on the other side while the other two have no way to help... Her eyes tracked a screaming Kahako clone fly across the gap and land (mostly) safe on the other side, while Hiraku took pot-shots to try and distract the demon. ....or not. Well now I look like the stupid one standing up here. I have got to stop talking to myself....

A quick surge of chakra exuded enough web to anchor her legs to the ceiling while she shot out webs from her hands to grab hold of the fallen halves the catwalk, two strands apiece, each stronger and more durable than any cable. She had discovered early on that much like her smaller arachnid counterparts she possessed a great deal of strength proportional to her size, this she used to very slowly pull the two halves back into position. Thankfully they were still attached on either end, otherwise this particular feat would have been impossible. Even this much was only possible through the use of all her multiple arms.

As the catwalk leveled out to one solid piece once more she would call out to those below. "Hurry and cross! This isn't as easy as it looks!" Beads of sweat were collected on her brow as she held on to make sure the pieces stayed in place. Hopefully Itsuki could keep the demon busy long enough for the other two to cross...

A clone was flung screaming across the large gap between the two ends of the catwalk. By some miracle she managed to catch hold of one of the dangling catwalk's rails which she clung to for dear life. She and the original scrambled up their respective ends of the catwalk and joined their comrades. Meanwhile, Itsuki had deftly leapt over the railing and was now using chakra to stick to the bottom of the walkway. She moved swiftly underneath the demon as it confusedly peered over the side of the rail trying to figure out where Itsuki went. Her voice carried not only to her comrades but to the demon as well whom realized that she was underneath him. Raising its massive fist he slammed it through the catwalk narrowly missing Itsuki underneath before she flipped back to the top on the opposite side of him.

The demon ripped its fist back through the hole he had made in the walkway and stood up, glaring menacingly at Itsuki. As it started to step forward a sharp stream of water slammed into its back causing it to stumble forward a couple feet, roaring in pain as two bloody divots were left in its back. As it began to turn to find the source of the attack, Itsuki made her move forcing it to keep its attention on her. As she drew in close it would make several fast and powerful swings with its claws which she would only barely avoid. She wouldn't quite find the opportunity to strike yet, but she was serving as an excellent distraction. Fortunately, its focus was solely on Itsuki as Kahako's clone climbed up from the dangling catwalk trying to escape the demon's attention. As she stood up, a blindingly bright bolt whizzed past her head and landed with a thud in the back of the demon's shoulder. It let out a roar of pain and then reached over it's shoulder, snapping the exposed end of the bolt off and tossing it aside.

It seemed to bubble with rage for a moment before it boiled over. Rearing back its head it opened its mouth in a horrendously loud roar that seemed to shake the very cavern itself. The shinobi were forced to cover their ears to avoid their eardrums exploding. Shashu, who had managed to begin pulling the catwalk up most of the way was forced to let it drop a few feet as she needed two of her hands to cover her own ears. Being the closest to the source, Itsuki found herself disoriented by the sudden outburst. Her vision blurred as the demon suddenly charged at her in anger, slamming its fist into her and sending her flying back towards the door. As Shashu regained her composure and pulled the catwalk together, the demon turned its focus around to the other pair on the bridge.

It began sprinting across the newly reattached catwalk. Even as Shashu attempted to let the bridge fall out from underneath it, it appeared to be fruitless. The two parts of the walkway had latched back together and were holding firmly. As the demon ran it grabbed part of the railing and tore off a large swath of it to use as a makeshift weapon. It passed by Kahako's clone which it simply barreled through, nearly knocking it off the bridge, seemingly without any interest in it for some reason. As it reached Kahako and Hiraku it swung its makeshift weapon in a horizontal arc trying to hit both of them in one fell stroke. He would subsequently swing twice more, at an angle if either of them ducked the first.

The situation had escalated pretty quickly, all hell appeared to be breaking loose on the other side of the catwalk as the demon thrashed around wildly trying to hit the elusive Hebi. Hiraku wasn't quite as accurate as he would have hoped but the attacks from Hiraku and Suzume hit their target, they appeared to have an impact on the beast as it was knocked slightly off balance. The repercussions of their success was slightly less desirable. Hiraku's crossbow rattled to the ground as his hands shot up to defend his ears from the mighty roar which hit him like a relentless wind.

Hiraku's eyes cracked open as the force subsided, allowing him to see the monstrosity sprinting towards him, "Look out!" he shouted to Suzume as the beast ripped a section of railing into a makeshift club. Acting quickly, Hiraku reached down and slung his crossbow onto his back before bringing his hands together in a chain of seals just as the beasts attack hit. The Hiraku which had taken the blow slowly faded away, revealing his Mirage Manipulation jutsu as the real version jumped high towards the beast to evade the attack.

Knowing a follow up attack was probably on the cards Hiraku's first concern was getting rid of that menacing club. A series of hand seals preceded his Genjutsu as he manipulated the demons chakra in an attempt to simulate severe pain in the arm that was holding the weapon, hopefully that would be enough to make him loose his grip. Floating through the air towards the monster Hiraku could only hope that his illusion and counter attack would buy him enough time to safely pass over the beast to the other side. Hopefully they would help Suzume get away from the attack as well.

A string of unintelligible curses flew out of Shashu's mouth as she tried to hoist the bridge up a midst all the fighting. It certainly wasn't easy with the demon rampaging around and sending shockwaves through the structure, and when the demon howled she almost dropped the damn thing altogether. Fayth-cursed piece of...shit. As the bridge clicked back into place, the demon turned tail to Itsuki and charged straight for Hiraku and Kahako. One of the two, or both, must have pissed it off more than Itsuki had managed to and only the pair's quick thinking had managed to save them from getting flattened by the beast's makeshift club. It's attention was on Hiraku for now, the slender boy attempting to affect it with some sort of Genjutsu it seemed. From the look of things I don't think he can take a solid hit from that club. Time for some interference....

Grabbing one of the strands and freeing her feet from the web anchor took less than a half-second, after which she ran at an angle away from the bridge and swung down towards the demon from what was hopefully it's blind-spot (unless it has eyes in the back of it's head. That would suck). If all went well she would aim to land a blow to the back of it's head, sending an Electroshock straight to the brain in an attempt to scramble it's nervous system. After wards, or if the demon noticed her before she could do such, she would shoot additional strands from her free hands to rapidly change direction and swing in a circle under the bridge, coming up the other side in an attempt to shatter it's ankle with a Spire Punch. Should the beast try to clobber her at this point she would channel her spider chakra to form a defensive web coating that would take the brunt of an attack, then use her webs to once more pull herself away from the catwalk to search for another opening while trying to distract it by flitting about just out of it's reach.

"What's the matter beastie? Having trouble fighting a bunch of kids half your size?" She would call out to it, taunting it in an attempt to keep it's attention on her. Big you may be, but splitting your attention four ways can't be easy. Just keep your attention on me, and the others will take care of the rest...

Shimmy, Shimmy, Shimmy… *CLANK* *GROAN*

‘please-don’t-fall, please-don’t-fall, please-don’t-fall,’ Prayed the clone Kahako when the demon hit the metal walk in an attempt to crush Hebi. She clung to the railing for a few short seconds before finishing her climb up. “Thank Raiden,” She clone whispered as soon as both feet were (for the first time) on horizontal ground. She lifted her head in mini triumph before shrinking back down in sheet horror as a bolt of…’lightening?!’ whizzed past her ear. She felt the trail of breeze push her hair, and a small “EEP” emitted from her when she ducked and cowered. A few moments later, she realized that she did not, in fact die, and was still very much alive.

Still crouched, she looked up at the monstrosity that was ignoring her. It sucked a deep breath in before letting out a roar so painful that Clone Kahako had to hold her ears. She felt the sound reverberate around her and watched as the very earth trembled. In a blurry vision, the clone could only watch in dismay as the creature charged and punched the stunned Hebi before turning onto what assumed to be her. Fear was flush on her face as the demon came upon her, it would crush her in one fell swoop before she could be of any use. It would… run right past her and onto the dangerous bridge nearly knocking her back off in the process. It hurt, but she stayed on the ground. Kahako thanked every god in existence before rising to her hands.

Wasting no more time, she shakily stood and made her way to where she was Hebi’s body fly. The medical ward would save the ANBU from sudden death, but the clone knew that she would need more medical attention. “Hebi!” she called out, hoping to hear at least a groan of pain. Whether through blind feeling or a soft call back, the clone Kahako would find Hebi’s body and immediately throw up a mystic hand and then a skeletal fortification. “Come on Hebi, the others need us…” Clone Kahako would call, trying to get the woman back into fighting shape, ignoring her own pain.

_________
Kahako had a short amount of time to react before the demon was upon them. The scream from before was painful from the opposite side of the cavern, she could only imagine how it felt to the two on the other side. Like a train, it barreled towards them lifting it’s arm, preparing what could only have been a horizontal attack. Kahako prepared her own handseals in preparation for a close combat attack.

"Look out!" Ikiryo shouted just before he jumped away. Kahako immediately ducked before doing a split second tuck and roll towards the demons feet. On her way, she touched the demon’s leg, sending damaging medical chakra through its nervous system. Hopefully, if she hit, then the creature would slow down as its mind grew confused and it’s body sore. Once on the other side, she watched as the Shashu-like ANBU swung in and engaged in her own combat, taunting the demon.

Kahako, now on the bridge again, formed more handseals before a blowing through her fingers. A hazy mist floated towards the creature, and upon contact would immediately begin shredding at the creature’s flesh. She didn’t have to shout, but she knew there was a chance the creature would notice her instead of Shashu. If it did, then Kahako would book it to the other side of the bridge. She REALLY didn’t want to fight the thing on something that already gave way once…
[spoilername="OOC"]For clarification: Kahako used the special action of tranquilize http://www.ninpocho.com/viewtopic.php?p=1201#p1201 and Pressurized Mist. Tranquilize lasts 2 rounds.

The blow Itsuki took threw her for a loop, but more importantly it threw her against the wall next to the door which she was unfortunately too dazed to prevent careening into. The force of the impact knocked the wind out of her, though fortunately she avoided hitting her head which would have been disastrous. Perhaps more concerning was the arm which she used to block the bunch. While it had prevented more serious damage to her body, the attack fractured if it didn't outright break her ulna in the arm that took the brunt of the hit. Given the impact with the wall, there were likely other injuries as well. She would certainly have some bruises in the morning, assuming she made it out. As she rolled over on the ground, trying to prop herself up she would notice the shooting pain from her arm and use the other instead. She tried to regulate her breathing to recover from the impact as quickly as possible, but Kahako's medical clone running towards her was a welcome sight.

Fortunately, Itsuki wasn't in as bad a shape as the clone feared. She managed to get up to her knees and wave at the clone with her good arm when she was called out to. Having the wind knocked out of her made it hard to call out, but the clone spotted her all the same. The clone went to work quickly using the standard Mystical Hand for some quick healing while she cast Skeletal Fortification to mend the girl's broken arm. The two ends of the bone would set back into place like two magnets with just a bit of accompanying pain. She would likely be in fighting shape momentarily.

Meanwhile, the other three tried their hand at combating the demon at close range. The two shinobi he attacked with his makeshift weapon predictably dodged to avoid taking a face full of metal. More accurately, one dodged by rolling towards the demon while the other seemingly DID take a face full of metal while he actually dodged. The brief moment of confusion as to why the blow didn't send Hiraku flying like Itsuki gave Kahako enough time to apply her Tranquilize technique. Unfortunately, the contact which she made with the demon brought it's attention to her before the technique had time to fully take effect. It brought its leg up connecting with Kahako's midsection before she could distance herself from it and knocked her into and over the nearby railing. Despite the pain she managed to grab the rail as she went over and avoid plummeting, holding on despite the pain of likely fractured ribs. The demon raised its weapon as if to bring it down upon the Med-nin's head but suddenly found the arm holding the weapon to be in great pain. Growling in pain it dropped the weapon with a clank onto the catwalk.

Kahako took the moment's hesitation to quickly pull herself back over the railing, though she found herself face to face with the demon a couple of feet from her. Its face was somehow less intimidating up close than she expected. It seemed lax, almost as if it was fighting off falling asleep. She would, of course, recognize her own handiwork with the technique she had used on it a moment ago. Unfortunately, the demon had turned to see Shashu just in time to avoid the blow she had planned for him. It took an awkward swing at her but missed due to the haze it was in. Her maneuver which swung her around underneath the bridge to get behind it worked, however, as she managed to strike her target with a stone-fisted punch at the demon's ankle. It growled in pain as it sunk to a knee and even more so as the mist from Kahako's technique overtook it, tearing at its skin. It tried uselessly to grab Shashu as she taunted it, but she remained just out of its reach. Kahako and Hiraku found themselves on the same side of the bridge as Itsuki now. If she had recovered, the three of them now had a chance to coordinate an attack while Shashu kept the demon distracted.

It happened so fast, after all, most shinobi fights happened very quickly. It was a damn good thing that a member of the Sentou Henkan was present or else Itsuki would have lost one of her primary forms of damage, that is, her most dominant arm. As the pains signals from the nerve endings in her arm slowly ebbed, the rest of her body ached from the blows to her body from the demon or the wall. But she was tougher than she looked. Back on her feet she looked out from where she was to asses the situation.

With the beast weakened, it was no or never to unleash their true strength. Itsuki didn't have any truly inspiring words, as she wasn't the type to really rally the forces, but that wouldn't stop her from coordinating and taking down the threat. She looked down at her hand for a moment and her eyes went wide with revelation. To use it, or not to use it was the question. The technique borrowed from one's very life force, and given the state of her health it was risky, but she had never tried it on a real opponent. There was no second guessing. This would likely result in her life should anything go wrong. Hopefully the others attacks would work in unison. "Ikiryo. Use your crossbow and target his injured ankle, be careful not to hit me when I go in. Suzume, thank you for your help, continuing with your ninjutsu. Bikou, do your best to immobilize it with your webs and then commence your strongest attack... I'm going in." she concluded quickly and then began to channel her chakra.

The aura around her seemed to shift as her body reached a new state of stress put upon it. With a swift step she was enroute to the currently distracted demon. "Lust..." she said as she moved, forming her hand into what resembled a drill. A visible chakra signature appeared and began to swirl around her fingers as she near approached the beast. Her plan? Punch through it. She aimed directly for the spinal cord and had planned on taking out several segments of the skeletal-nervous structure. The only issue with this technique, aside from the toll it took on her body, was she was basically going to be giving the beast a hug. However, better for her to die and the mission succeed than the others...

Hiraku afforded himself a sigh of relief, it seemed as though with everything that was going on the beast had become completely overwhelmed and was thrashing around wildly rather than picking its targets. Aside from a narrow miss with Shashu who appeared to be having great fun zipping around the room with the same substance she'd used to hold up the bridge earlier, Hiraku glided back to the ground on the other side of the demon without any complications. During his decent he noticed either Suzume or her clone, he'd lost track while dodging, tending to Hebi.

"Everyone ok?" he asked as he landed and quickly reacquired everyone's chakra so he could see what was going on. Turning around to face their enemy, Hiraku saw Suzume standing toe to toe with the beast and Shashu still flying around pestering it. In a contrast to the intimidating monster which charged over the bridge towards them, the demon was starting to look more and more helpless, it's movements were slowing and its focus was clearly not as sharp as it was at the start of the battle.

Hebi's voice echoed from behind Hiraku who nodded in response to the orders from the leader. Taking a step to the side to make sure he could shoot around his team, Hiraku took a knee and removed the crossbow from his back once more. Pushing the weapon firmly into his shoulder he slowed his breathing as once again he channelled his jutsu into a small bolt, looking down the sights he repositioned his aim, starting at centre of mass and finishing at the beasts weakened ankle. He held his aim firm as he felt the gust of Hebi rushing past him rustle his hood, the end was in sight and this combination attack could prove to be the final blow.

"Let's not miss this time eh Hiraku…" He whispered quietly to himself as he gently squeezed the trigger.

Kahako coughed a little blood up as she stared into the face of the demon. A smirk appeared on her face. Just as she expected, the demon was confused, and her jutsu wasn’t helping. It would last only for a short while longer however. Now was their chance to finish it. She allowed Hebi to pass her on the bridge and move into a kneeling position. The clone, tired yet still kicking, stopped at her owner and placed a small healing jutsu on her. Immediately her ribcage began to feel better, but that was all she would allow the clone to do. “Save your energy for the others” she said to it, holding it’s hand away from her.

Kahako closed her eyes. It was going to be a close call with Hebi performing such a close ranged move on the beast, but she trusted her control over her natural element. She performed her handseals before letting her palms face the ground. Ikiryo was already shooting off arrows from his crossbow when a distinct rumbling could be heard from the earth around them. Swiftly, Kahako upturned her hands in a claw-like position. Her eyes shot open before standing slowly. There was a minute moment of silence where she exhaled… and a giant torrent of water sprang from the walls. As she moved her arms and spun, the torrent circled around her slowly before condensing and shooting over Hebi’s head right at the demon.

She didn't know about the rest of her squad, but Shashu was having the time of her life. Dodging the demon's clumsy strikes whilst flitting about the chasm, using her webs to pull her from stalactite to stalactite and tossing insults all the while...it was exhilarating. She could feel the wind rushing through her hair as she contorted this way and that, webs shooting from her many arms in a pattern so chaotic as to be unpredictable. She could feel a crazed smile splitting her face, and it was all she could do to keep from laughing out loud. One had to keep up appearances in front of the others after all.

Their attacks were taking a toll on the hulking figure, that was evident, but the beast was far from giving up. Hebi aimed to rectify that, shouting orders that reaches Shashu's ears as she rocketed by upside down, offering a salute and an "Aye aye captain!" as she flew past. She didn't really have a strongest attack, per se....all her techniques were mostly debilitating in nature rather than damaging. Though....

Oh this is going to be hilarious! The spidery ANBU in training thought, her crazed grin cracking even wider. A few more rapid turns and revolutions around through the stalactites and Shashu shot under the bridge once more, executing a few handseals and letting the web carry her further out the other side than she had before in case the demon had the sense to anticipate another pass. It wouldn't do to get caught now, so she played it safe and stayed far out of it's reach, tucking into a midair somersault as she drew level with the bridge.

As she flipped up towards the ceiling Shashu shot gobs of web rapid-fire at the demon, aiming for it's eyes and joints in particular. Once she had enough strands attached to sufficiently limit it's movement, she fire several more, these intended to anchor her to the demon itself. These threads she would give a strong yank, allowing gravity and the much higher mass of the demon to pull her in. A few threads here and there corrected her course so that she would connect a solid Sling Kick straight to the arse....

....just as the clone she had created under the bridge executed the Thousand Years of Pain Genjutsu on the unsuspecting demon, the maniacal grin under it's face a mirror of her own. Hopefully that combination would give the no-doubt already frazzled demon the shock of his life, and Fayth willing give Hebi and the others' a clean shot as well.

Shashu was doing a spectacular job of keeping the beast both enraged and distracted. Every swing it took made it only more tired but the swings of its razor sharp nails did not cease. She would come in close enough for the demon to attack, then swiftly dodge and pull herself back out of its range. The thrilled look on her face betrayed her attempts to hide the laughter she wanted to let loose. The demon, however, was anything but thrilled. It roared ferociously in anger every time it missed. One would expect it to slow as fatigue set in but the rage seemed to sustain it, even make it faster. As she swung under the bridge the demon turned to face the other side ready to grab her only to find that she had moved out of its reach entirely. It pressed up against the rail trying desperately to grab her but succeeded only in bending the rail dangerously towards the depths below.

Then the globs of webbing began striking it one after another. The demon worked quickly to grab each and tear them off, throwing them aside. Suddenly, a bolt struck dead into its ankle causing it to roar in pain and drop to a knee. The opening allowed Shashu's webbing to outpace the demon's ability to tear it off. It was slowed tremendously as it tried to stand back up, limping. Just as it stood, a torrent of water struck it, bowling it right back over. Before it could even fall it was suddenly struck from behind by spidergirl, the counteracting force keeping it on its feet... just in time to see its end approaching. Try as it did to counter the oncoming attack at the hand of Itsuki, the webbing and Genjutsu prevented it from defending itself. The obnoxiously powerful drill punch, aided by the jutsu enhancing it further, slammed into the torso. If it had remained in place, the attack might well have actually gone entirely through, but the force of the punch sent the demon flying off of the catwalk and into the depths below where a very distinct thud was heard a few seconds later.

They were victorious.

After some time spent recuperating from the fight with the aid of the Medical-nin present the team pressed on into the laboratory itself. As opposed to the demon they fought early on the rest of the mission seemed to be a breeze. There were traps, but the use of Itsuki's Byakugan allowed them to quickly target and disable them without much trouble. The walls that seemed to obscure her vision only encased the laboratory, they were not used throughout. The team swept the lab to ensure there were no more hulking monsters. Near the entrance they found the poor Chuunin who had been sent in before them... in a few pieces, drained of blood. Unfortunately, he had not made it. He had, however, located a map which was still within his vest. The map led the group to a generator which they used to turn the power on and illuminate the lab.

It wasn't long before they found a strange room with several glass chambers, all empty. One had been shattered, the floor surrounding it still wet with the liquid it contained. Upon entering the facility, the Chuunin's scent had reached the demonic experiment and drawn it from it's induced slumber to feed. Had the team not arrived, it most likely would have left the facility in search of more. Once the entirety of the laboratory had been inspected and deemed safe, they group returned to the entrance where they carefully crossed the catwalk one at a time after Shashu had given it some extra support with webbing. Once they emerged from the entrance, they found Tenkawa Yuuto waiting for them.

Tenkawa Yuuto
ANBU Intelligence Agent

"Welcome back. We heard some horrible noises emanating from the depths... had you taken much longer, we were going to call for ANBU reinforcements. But I see that wasn't necessary," he said as the team stepped out into the early morning sun. They had worked through the twilight hours and the sun was just beginning to rise as they greeted the outside world again. It looked much the same as they had left it. It would almost appear as if Yuuto had stayed on the scene waiting for them the entire time. In truth, he had just enough time to head back to the Sileo and catch a nap, but they didn't need to know that. "I take it you've cleared the lab with little trouble. Trainees, I'll need reports handed in by tomorrow... for now, your duty is complete. Go and rest, you've earned it," he said to the trainees before turning to the sole Medical shinobi in the group.

"Suzume, as you know, you are not to relay your experience below to anybody. Thank you for your assistance. I hope I'll see you on further missions as well," he said with a friendly smile. He had to keep relations with the Medical Branch positive, after all. "Now, please do not linger in the alley. We've got a cleanup crew headed here now and you don't want to be in the way," he said to all of them. His job on the site had only just begin. With the lab deemed safe, it would now be his turn to head inside and find what secrets were left behind by the previous owners. The team's mission was complete and they were released to go on their way.

[Mission Complete! Post your responses to the end of the battle if you want + post leaving the thread. Mission payment has been requested here. Gj all!]
[Shashu, as you know, this was your promotion mission for ANBU so you may now go and request your banner. Link here for proof. Congrats!]

The rays invaded the eye slits of Itsuki's blank mask. One of her arms reflexively moved to shield her iris' from the harsh radiation. The moments of blindness were filled with talk from the man who had briefed them. Give her state of exhaustion, and what they had just accomplished, it was basically all useless congratulations. Itsuki nodded her head, said nothing and walked away. But in reality, she was using all her will power to suppress the shakes from the adrenaline that lingered in her blood. Despite a very close call in the battle that may have cost her life, she had successfully lead an ANBU mission herself as a trainee. Now that had to be impressive on her record...

But, it was just a mission after all. She was expected to do just what she had. It was time to head home to be lectured by her father in humility and hopefully get some sleep without reoccurring nightmares of the demon they just fought.

When everything was said and done, they had won. For a minute Kahako didn’t believe that the battle was truly over. Maybe she died and this was the afterlife? It wasn’t until they were breathing fresh air that she truly believed the mission was a success. She nodded to her fellow teammates before departing to her home at Kitsune Mansion.

When she closed the door, he back hit the shoji frame and she slid to the ground. It was good minute more before she let it slide off. Underneath was a glowing, relieved smile. They had done it. The mission was a complete success, and so was her’s.

Everyone survived.
