Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Lie, no...Apex...grinned beneath his enigmatic mask. How amusing. New code names assigned, and he could see at least part of the intent. The senior ANBU were given names reflecting strength or power. Apex, the pinnacle. Elfin, the otherwordly. Plague, the unstoppable. Titan, the powerful. Whether the ANBU liked their new names or not, there was a purpose behind them. Even the AiTs' names held meaning. Mite and Sliver, tiny parts of a whole. Deriding, perhaps, but not without purpose. As the Captain had said, they were promising. Perhaps the desire to earn a more storied code name and leave childish name behind would prove to increase their determination?

Regardless, that was none of Apex's concern. He had a ghetto to infiltrate. With all his jutsu and Uchiha powers of mental domination, he knew he had the necessary tools...but could the Black Prince play a convincing Black Peasant?

The masked ANBU bowed, saying, "Consider it done."

With that, he outstretched his arms and fell backward, merging with his own shadow before the shadow itself moved across the sands and traveled from shade to shade back into the village.

While Kagai had grown quite partial to the name of Paladin, Plague wasn't a bad substitute. He would take note of those whom also received new names this day. With a new name, comes new purpose, and just what was that purpose? Only time will tell, but they were at least given their first task. They were instructed to take it upon themselves to root out all of the criminal elements in Grand Palais, but not to apprehend anyone. They were to just watch and learn and report their findings as they come across them.

Kagai spent most of his time in the ghettos preaching the word of Kojin, so he wouldn't have much trouble blending into the scenery. Placing a clenched fist to his chest, over his heart and with bow of his head, Kagai would accept his task..."Thy will be done." And with that, he would vanish from sight like the Shinobi he was.

Mugen's eye twitched behind the mask he wore at his new found name, before his head would slowly shift to his side to acknowledge his partner. Sliver...a small, thin, narrow piece of something cut or split off a larger piece... he was always given the worst of all names. First it was rabbit, while the others got epic names like Paladin or Wolf -- now he's leftovers...or something along the line of that. He was always told that every name had a hidden meaning, but the young boy was simply unsatisfied with his name.

But he showed no discontempt, no feeling, no nothing. He was training to be an ANBU -- you sometimes do not have a choice over several things.

Anyway, with all that -- he nodded to his new captain and turned around in order to walk back to the village.

The female ANBU said nothing concerning her change of code name. She was a tool for them to use and if doing so meant changing her preferred name of Thorn to Elfin, then so be it. The AIT were dealt with first and once they left the group remaining were given their assignments. Each one of them were tasked with the clean up of the Grand Palais, a daunting task to any other. Luckily for Kumiko, as her regular self, she had discovered a series of thefts already during her routine D rank missions. Looked like those were over.
.
After her mission was given to her Kumiko nodded towards the Captain and Sennin before, much like Apex, she simply dispersed into the shadows surrounding them.

Yōko Titan

New name, new mission, new captain, new people, and with all this newness there was still the constant; he got to have fun. Call him what you will, the code name has always been for his teammates so he could be acknowledged, who cares what the name ultimately ended up being reference as? Was there something more about the names that were given? Probably, but Roku did not really interest himself in that whole matter. What did bring a bit of a sour point for him from this whole meeting was their next assignment. Observation was important but it lacked the exciting, hands on touch, that Roku looked for in a mission. Orders, were orders though, so he would carry them out.

"As you wish."

And with that he would turn around to head back to the village.

Report only to him? Mikaboshi's eyes narrowed behind his mask at those words. They had very specific meaning which could cause trouble down the road. It meant that any reports submitted would go through Eiji first giving the young man quite a bit of power in the operation. Still, the plan of assimilation wasn't the only one in the works and Mikaboshi's designs upon the Wind Country did not revolve entirely around the success of that project. For the time being, Mikaboshi decided that he would allow Eiji the free reign over it. It would free up his attentions to pursue a few other ends which had recently come to his attention. The "seventh floor" of the Obsidian Palace had caught his interest and was becoming more and more of a time-consuming project. Chances were that it was just a legend that the Sunans told to scare the simple brains of their children but Mikaboshi knew better than anyone that such urban legends almost always had some sort of truth to them. He was a living proof of that. Each of the ANBU swore their loyalty and disappeared one by one and finally as Titan left their presence, Mikaboshi turned his attention to Eiji.

"You are taking quite the initiative with this project." He observed without judgment in his voice. "Good. I am trusting a significant portion of the project's success to you by allowing this. Do not disappoint me."

As it usually was with Mikaboshi, his words carried only half truth to them. The success of that particular portion of his design hinged greatly upon the will and ambition of Motomori Eiji. But there were contingencies already in place for the plan's success if Eiji failed him or attempted to take control of the crime syndicates himself. Mikaboshi certainly did not fear Eiji turning on him directly-- there was no human that Mikaboshi could say that he feared with the possible exception of the long-dead King Primus once upon a time --and ultimately he was nothing if not patient. Even if the entire project turned to dust, all he would need to do is step backwards into the shadows and wait for history to wash the play board clean once more.

"Keep me abreast of the situation's development. You know how to find me if you require my presence." Explained the Sennin. He spoke of course of speaking his name aloud to the darkness. It was an... unusual practice and one that he knew many of the ANBU to think silly until the first time they tried it within the Palace and his body materialized out of the darkness. "Good hunting, Osiris."

And with that, the former lord turned and began to stalk back into the inky comfort of the underground cavern.

Once Titan had left, making him the last, Osiris turned toward the ominous figure of his leader who had waited after the others had left. He still stood a ways from the Captain, swirling in his shadows and darkness. The Sennin's approval was met with a bow from the short man, one that lingered a while. The captain's eyes drifted over the windy sands already starting to cover his boots but didn't really see it. His mind was turning with ideas and plans.

He was glad his Sennin didn't have a complaint with his tactics and once he lifted up to stand straight once more, he was looking at the "man's" back as he started back toward the mouth of the monster. "I will, thank you Mikaboshi-sama." His voice would meet his ears, serious and sincere. It was his false smile that remained his own, hidden behind the mask.

The captain lingered in the sun for several minutes after his squad had left, his mind a whirl with what he had before him. He had power at the tips of his fingers now and had effectively started an allegiance of Suna's best ANBU toward himself before any other. He imagined some of it would stick. It gave him an advantage if he ever needed it. Not that he had any intention of betraying his dark leader, but it was good he had followers of his own. Now he'd have to earn it.

Still smiling, the ANBU captain turned back toward the mouth of the beast and followed the rest back into the cavernous home.
