Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

There were many challenges in life, but Yoshihisa couldn't help but describe the one he was currently facing as one born out of inconvenience: Doing research in a society where strength in a physical sense was the greatest counterweight of all meant there might be a few bumps on the road. That is, if your subject of choice was even worth mentioning to begin with. In this case he couldn't have been luckier, since the methods of summoning were seen as a true feat of strength and those capable were more often than not regarded as Shinobi in every sense of the word.

But despite the subject being one that was oddly popular even in a village like Iwagakure, there was no denying that the source of information was still lacking at best. Much information of the various contracts was left out, not even wanting to give the other countries the slightest bit of credit for the species roaming their lands that weren't to be found in these areas. And following the same logic, those that were bound to the Country of Earth were glorified and greatly recommended in the guides, tomes and scrolls Yoshihisa had been skipping through all day. So here he was now, about to be kicked out of the library due to the nearing closing time while not having done much but look at the empty summoning scroll for the last ten minutes or so, and with so little written down all day that the notes were lost somewhere underneath the ever growing pile of discarded books. Somewhere along the line he had given up while reading a passage about a creature referred to as 'Abura-taikun', which might have interested him if it had anything to do with what he had come for.

"I'm afraid we'll be closing up for tonight very shortly, so I have to ask you to get everything back in place in a little while."

The smiling face of a young woman he was met with once he looked up was a rare surprise. He hadn't been entirely sure if she was one of the grandchildren of the current owners, nor was he planning on asking. So he settled with a nod, deep down inside cursing himself for having "succumbed" to one of his most hated Iwagakurian traditions. For a moment he had considered calling her back to apologize for seeming rude and distant, but just then his gaze met with a passage containing information he might need:

Several of the creatures whom are part of the summoning pacts have proven to possess a natural affinity with one, if not more elementals needed to perform Ninjutsu. These range from the most basic to unique jutsu unmatched by those Shinobi are capable of. Some have even shown to share a complicated relationship with the various jutsu employed by local clans, granting them an additional benefit as the two separate entities are capable of empowering one another.

It vaguely reminded him of the stories he had heard in his youth about towering Toads, spewing large quantities of oil which were so flammable that an entire forrest could be consumed by the flames if it happened to catch on fire. Having learned long ago that there wasn't often a tall tale which didn't happen to be true in the end, perhaps this one was part of that collection as well. Surely, he hadn't even managed to scrape the surface when it came to obtaining all the knowledge of the creatures involved in these pacts? But whether this was the case or not, Yoshihisa's interest had been sparked once more. A few final notes were made on a fresh sheet of paper before he decided there was enough work put into this for one day and started to put everything back on the shelves they belonged on.

The light of the barely present crescent moon wasn't enough to light his path home, but his legs had guided themselves ever since he had set foot outside either way. His thoughts were racing, trying to process everything he had been going over during the time he had studied, soon finding it next to impossible to do so. Yet he knew he should be satisfied by the results. Rare gems might be a bit to strong a description, but that final passage had allowed him to more or less translate some of the previous texts, allowing him to see their true contents. And with this knowledge, he would be returning tomorrow. That is, if he would be able to get himself out of bed by the time he wanted after the straining of the past few days..
