Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Name: Takahashi Kiyoshi

Age: 11

Gender: Male

Sex: Male

Rank: Academy Student

General Description:

-Physical:
--Height: 4’10”
--Weight: 90 lbs
--Hair: Short, brown, and messy
--Eyes: Hazel, with flecks of green
--Skin Tone: Olive
--Standard Attire: White tennis shoes, blue jeans, and a plain black t-shirt. His clothes appear to be well broken-in (jeans faded and stained, shoes dirty and worn).

-Personality: A quiet, honest, and hardworking lad, Kiyoshi always appears to be quite serious in demeanor. His responsible and no-nonsense attitude made him unpopular with his classmates at school, resulting in few friends his own age.

History:
Kiyoshi was born and raised in a small farming village in the central valley of Kaminari no Kuni. His father was a farmer for the local lord, eking a simple living from the soil. His mother, a seamstress by trade, worked at a small shop in town that she co-owned with her two sisters. The family didn’t have a lot of money, but their lord was generous to his people, and saw to it that none of them ever went hungry. Being raised in such humble conditions instilled Kiyoshi with a strong work ethic and a generous, if not overly serious, nature. Kiyoshi’s upbringing was fairly normal. He went to school, did chores, and helped his mother and father at work when it was needed (which was more often than not). His parents loved him dearly, and he was happy.

Then, the Chakra Potential Screening Service arrived. A shinobi from Kumogakure, along with a small team of physicians, tested all the children in the village. Most of the parents were unfazed by the recurrence of the annual event. After all, no one from their village had tested positive for over a hundred years. The children all thought it was great fun to meet an actual shinobi, and the playgrounds and streets were full of kids playing ninja games for days as the CPSS processed the results.

The morning of the third day after the test started normally for Kiyoshi. It was Sunday, and the gentle light of dawn streaming through his open bedroom window woke him rather than the screech of his alarm radio. The smell of frying eggs and bacon, along with toasting bread and coffee, was wafting up from the kitchen below. His mom always made a big breakfast on Sunday mornings. Kiyoshi got up and did the first thing he did every morning; made his bed. It was a simple thing, making the bed; but his father always told him that it was the secret to success. When you habitually make your bed, you exercise discipline; and accomplishing something first thing in the morning, even something that small, positively impacts the rest of your day. With his first accomplishment out of the way, Kiyoshi got dressed and headed down to eat.

A knock at the front door stopped him at the foot of the stairs. It wasn’t often they received visitors, and definitely not this early on a Sunday. ”I’ll get it.” Kiyoshi called to his parents in the kitchen, who seemed to be just as confused as he was at the unexpected visitor. His father’s grumbling from behind his newspaper and his mother’s wonderings on who could possibly be at the door fell silent when Kiyoshi opened it. The three stared, a confused look of shock and disbelief on their faces, at the shinobi from the CPSS.

The next few days were a blur. Kiyoshi’s father had reacted rather well to the news that his son was chakra sensitive, and his mother reacted about as bad as one would expect. It took a couple of days for her hysteria to run its course before she, like her husband, accepted the fact that there was nothing they could do. One way or another, Kiyoshi was bound for Kumogakure on the next available train. His father was able to convince his mother that it was a great honor, and that it would be Kiyoshi’s only chance of making a life for himself that didn’t involve working on the farm for the rest of his days.

Their lord and the village seemed to believe that as well. Kiyoshi and his family were invited to his manor the night before Kiyoshi was set to leave to feast in celebration of the wonderful news. The lord even gave Kiyoshi some money to help him settle in at his new village. Not much, mind you. The village wasn’t all that prosperous, but their lord was a kindhearted fellow who genuinely cared about his people. His classmates seemed suddenly very interested in being his friend, although they had never expressed such a sentiment before.

Kiyoshi barely slept that night. How could he? The only life he’d ever known was going to be gone with the rising of the sun. Would he ever be able to come home? To see his mother and father again? The fear of being in a new place filled him with dread, but also with an unexplainable excitement. Sleepless, he watched the sun rise from his bedroom window, got up, and made his bed.

His parents put on a brave face as they said their goodbyes at the front door, but he could tell they were barely holding back their tears. So was he. He firmly hugged his father and kissed his mother on the cheek, then shouldered his backpack and walked out the door. The shinobi from CPSS was there, and with a firm hand on his shoulder, he escorted Kiyoshi to the train station...

… to be continued.
