Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

As they had promised the Kazekage, the two didn’t think twice to offer their aid to Sunagakure’s hospital. The two are self admitted sadists but they could only truly enjoy the pain when the poor sap that caught their eye deserved it. Otherwise, they saw no real reason to harm the helpless, the weak and the innocent until the situation demanded it.

It was difficult to even get the staff to take them seriously at first, however. They had stepped in and a nurse mistook them for another patient.

Another victim to the Cabal’s terrorist attacks.

Of course it was too easy to learn of the troubles plaguing this country in the here and now, what with all the death and destruction staring them in the face. And it took a lot to reign themselves in. It really was hard to resist their call. The voices of the dead sang to them, a far cry from the usual whispers they heard before they... before they became what they are now.

But they ignored them, no matter how sweet answering the call would be.

It would not do for them to get into trouble when they’d just been here for a day.

Anyway, we digress.

Where were we?

Oh yes.

It was difficult to make the staff believe they were here to aid them. It had taken a bit of maneuvering and a few radio calls to confirm that Sousuke had indeed sent them here, to defer to the medical chief Akujin. But, with the man too busy to see them at the moment – or so they assume, at least – so they were tasked to the menial chores around the place. For all that they claimed to be a skilled doctor, they weren’t trusted.

And they doubted that was only because of the fact that they were mercenaries.

One fool even had the bright idea of sending them to the pediatric floor. That had resulted in many children, crying about the freak, the monster that thought to plague their days. It was just downright awful and, many bawling baby and a tightlipped Akane later, they were reassigned to help out as an errand boy... girl... person at the emergency room

This is all...

“Troublesome,” Akane sighed, as they pushed a trolley of coolers along, each one filled with organs for some reason or another. She would be having words with the medical chief or the Kazekage later about the boy who thought traumatizing children with their appearance was funny. Other than that, she had little complaint in their quest to be on amicable terms with the Sand government.

Akihiko on the other hand – “This is such bullocks. We’re the prodigies of our generation, Shoukyou extraordinaire. We’ve got more medical knowledge in my thumb than most of these rookies do in their entire body. And we’re here carting party coolers when we could be bring people back from the brink of death.” And even beyond that, though they would not be so open about that particular tidbit in unknown territory.

“You know as well as I do that even this is important work to keep the hospital efficient. But do not blame them, brother mine. We are new and we do not exactly look like doctors now, do we?” Of course, that was a problem even before she and he became they, with people wary with how young they were. Why, Akihiko had done his first operation in the theater at the age of thirteen. Akane was... busy elsewhere, cutting people up for ANBU at the time, but that hardly made her any less of a doctor than her brother.

“Still, it is frustrating! To think we would be treated like... like mercenaries just because Kirigakure stands frozen,” he huffed, his frustration made clear.

  • Inviting along Harupia, Ayame and Teke (if she wants). Anyone else can PM me if they want to join. Well, I guess you can jump in if you're a Medic (or Akujin) but it might get a bit crowded.

Haru felt out a bit of a sigh, stretching himself a bit. He left his dune walker garb by the entrance, seeing that nobody was quite able to ask him to do so. The hospital seemed o be quite busy...seemed like some things didn’t change much in spite of the passage of time. It didn’t take him much time to actual get in...after all this time, his passport was still valid. Any other Kage would probably think about calling him a missing nin after such a long time...and yet it didn’t happen. He didn’t get much time to see how the village exchanged, as he did want to get to the hospital. He wanted to get checked as soon as possible. And so far a she understood, the disease was not airborne or transited by more mundane things...mostly blood contact. he was only struck by the Wrym once but with how old it was, he couldn’t discount the fact of some kind of dried up blood contaminating him. At least in these earlier stages it wasn’t to contagious...at least that what he under stood. Still, he felt that hospital would treat him well...and he wasn’t sure if he was ready to come face to face with Kuro just yet.

Still, it seemed to be quiet the busy day...he needed to find some who could lead him to where he needed to go. Or perhaps just to the bathroom...the thick beard he had was starting to irritate him slightly now that he wasn’t focused on traversing the desert. eventually he did see someone not directly engage with patients. A pair of very similar...well, he assumed nurses, but they could be medi nin just doing some more mundane tasks... regardless, he approached the pair saying "erm, excuse me...Hi, I don’t men to bother you, I know you all are a bit busy right now, but I’m looking for someone who could check me up. I’m pretty sure you might have heard, but the head Medic talked about a potential disease. Basically, I was involved in the battle outside of the village, and there is a slight chance I might have been infected...Again, don’t mean to bother, till be ok if you can show me the way if this doesn’t fall under you particular field" he finished with a smile. As polite as ever...though partly afraid that he might have even wasting to much time...or be in the wrong place all together. It would probably take some time till he had a full grasp of things in the village...or maybe it was just the beard clouding his judgment. Who could know?

Very few people dare to disrupt the strange looking pair from their duties. It made it so that they did their work quickly and efficiently, unlike the pretty nurses with too short skirts that stopped to gossip and flirt. But it was also both annoying and very lonely. Or as lonely as they could get, being two people with a near shared consciousness, at the very least.

So, when a man approached them with words, it took a bit for them to realize that they were the ones being spoken to. Nobody else was in the hall, after all. And it was the logical conclusion. That or this man was an escaped patient from The Asylum.

When they worked in the hospital of Kirigakure, they would not allow such distractions. They had been a Medic Chief, or close to it had the exile not happened, and they would be ordering subordinates around if they weren't already in the operating theater in surgery or in the morgue doing an autopsy. If someone was lost, they could grab a receptionist or one of those gossiping nurses to help them. They would have been far too busy to entertain such trivial questions. But, as it is, they were in no hurry. It’s not like these organs were going to go bad if they were a minute or too late in putting them into storage.

Entertaining the bothersome man, identical eerie smiles graced the twins’ faces as they let go of the trolley and turned to address him. No doubt, by now, he would see that they weren’t exactly just a pair of nurses. It shouldn’t take two people to push one wheeled trolley, after all.

Life and death falls under our particular field. Alas, we are only allowed to do grunt work because we are not one of your countrymen,” the two spoke lending an odd note to their words.

It often jarred people, to say the least, when the two spoke in unison as if of one mind.

Thankfully, each one piped up individually soon after.

The right twin chided, with a click of his tongue: “If you were infected due to a battle injury, you should have gone to the emergency room for immediate attention, silly man.”

And the left twin sighed, with a shake of her head: “But seeing as you are here, let’s see about finding you a pathologist or someone from internal medicine... unless you have an inkling as to what your possible disease may be? If that is a case, we can direct you to a specialist who would be of further help.”

The left hand of a medic would appear on the shoulder of the bearded individual as he reappeared after cancelling his Invisibility jutsu. A nice, gentle smile would surface onto his clean-shaven face as he decided to interject into the conversation that this man and other individual were having. He was friendly as he commented towards the bearded individual inquisitively: "If you believed you were infected by the sandworm, you should've went to the makeshift hospital outside of the Toraono Clan's estate when Brother Kuro told us all. But, I will not hold that against you for fighting beside me, Brave Warrior. If you were infected, the Red Death would have you bed ridden and clinging to life. Seeing as you are moving around and appear to be healthy, I would say that you didn't get infected." He would remove his hand from the man's shoulder and extend it to whom he presumed to be the twins that he had been hearing about over calls from the office of the Kazekage that were relayed to him from one of the secretaries in the Hospital after each conversation. In other words, he had been waiting to finally meet this duo--erm twins. "Byakko Kyuji, Medical Chief with the most tenure. You two must be Akane and Akihiko. Pleasure to meet you!"

His hand would then turn to the bearded man to allow him to shake it as well and introduce himself as well if he chose to. Regardless of the handshake, he would bring his hand back to his medical robes concealing most of his appearance aside from his feline-like eyes and ears. Most of the Byakko's attire had been concealing for the longest time even before his accident when he was fighting his brother. That day would live on in infamy in the descendant's mind until he was given the chance to spar his brother again and redeem himself hopefully. But for now, he would just "sit back" and relax with these three-erm two individuals until duty called in the form of surgeries, checkups, and so forth. In all honesty, he wanted to get to know these individuals more considering it was never a bad idea to have more allies around and also, this medical "freak-show" was intriguing at the very least and he wanted to hear their-erm its story on how it all happened. He wanted answers in other words and he was going to get them eventually!

But for now, it was time to relax and let the situation create itself; it was also time to catch up an be informed on what he missed if they were to bring that up at some point.

Haru greeted the twins with a smile as they turned to him…He was glad he was met with one in return…it made the guttural reaction to what he saw a bit les noticeable, though there probably was a bit of a twitch in is eyes ashes saw the two doctors standing there…sharing their coat. The eeriness continued as they spoke, almost in perfect synchronization. The introducing themselves as forma different country raised as much questions as it answered. At les he knew why he never knew about a conjoined twins living in the village. And they did seem a bit to pale to be from sand… the question remains why they were here, helping the hospital with menial grunt work. Though, glancing at the trolley, he did notice the cargo they were transporting was…quit precious to say the least

He did except to get chided for not seeing someone more specialized right form the get go, though the twins seemed to be understanding…well, more one the other. After they spoke he said “Well, yes and no. As far as I was informed, this is some kind of virus which was carried by a massive Sandworm called Barnyx, who decided she was bored being dead and popped outside of the village right as I was returning to it… I’m not sure if there was any communication in the village about that yet. It apparently called the Red death, that as far as I understood it wasn’t the full - blown disease but its initial weaker stage… Sorry if I sound a bit scatter minded, It’s been a rouge return home I have to say…”he finished for a bit with a bit of chuckle, wiping his brow. Which wasn’t completely untrue…though during their talk something else started to bother him. Now, with how the last year went he might have been a bit paranoid…but he couldn’t help but feel someone was listening to them for some time now.

For once, it seemed his instinct wasn’t quite playing tricks on him, Haru turning his head to just before he felt the hand land on his shoulder, his face flashing with a stern, hardened expression, as if he was readying himself to fend off another foe… It quickly passed and the expression softened as he did recognize the man…he saw him during the fight with the wyrm. He then went on to explain just what he should have done before…and that if he contracted the disease he probably wouldn’t able to move by now.

Letting out a sheepish laugh he said “Well, I kind of assumed as much…then again, I assume that it was just me being a big strong shinobi taking it like a man!... Though I guess it would be quite silly to delay my treatment so long if I actually had it. My apologies, I still feel a bit off…feels weird to come back home after so long.” As the hand was presented to him, he shook it while saying “Ahh, so finally the medics decided on a Chief. That’s good to hear. Sunaku Harupia, Jounin, Academy teacher, Artist. Pleasure to meet you both” he side before turning to the twins and giving a respectful bow. He wasn’t quite sure to which he should offer his hand…if not to both…but he figured a nice bow would be a respectful way to greet someone as well.

The scruffy man before them made excuses. Often is the way of the patients who thought they know better than their doctors and it turned the edges of their lips into a slight sneer. Before they could go off into a tirade however, another of these Sand nins appeared. This time a doctor and not a patient.

...Not that did little to deter them from their sermon.

“You big, strong men and your egos. If you are injured or with illness or unknown substance, you find a Medic nin or someone just as capable immediately! Your bullish bodies will do you no favors if you are inflicted by Serpent’s Blood or Searing Mist!” And isn’t it a jarring thing, to hear so many words, so loudly, in complete unison from two voices? “And to think you are a teacher? Is this what you teach your students? You could spread a plague upon your people with your hardheadedness and not even realize it! Pestilence take you and your stubborn ways!”

A breath.

A sigh.

And their features melted back into one of indifference, eyes cold as if the huge outburst had not occured.

They give their attention then to the Medical Chief, gaze cool and calculating. Their arms stayed by their sides, neither taking the offered hand.

Akane, her look withering, spoke up then giving their auditory senses a reprieve: “Forgive us if we don’t take your hand. It is rather unsanitary. And the diseases we can transmit between doctors should give us a pass. But-”

“We were told that your name was Akujin. So who is the liar? It’s hardly a pleasure in the face of deceit. Names have power, after all, and you already know our real names,” Akihiko piped up in turn, a wicked grin that held no joy stretching his face.

Not that it was a pleasure to begin with, considering they’ve spent a good portion of their precious time that day acting as work horses. The burning look they sent at the trolley of coolers and organs said as much.

...They should really be bringing these into storage before they go bad.

It appeared that business was going to pick up and quickly as the three other fine specimens in the room were starting to allow their personalities to fully display themselves to the Byakko. The bearded individual was friendly towards the descendant as he respectfully shook his hand and commented on the Medical Branch finally deciding on a Chief after apparently much longer than Kyuji initially thought. He even introduced himself and a smile cracked on the face of the the Byakko descendant as he had found another individual who could teach at the academy when he was too busy to handle it himself! It was good to see a new face in this village that had fallen on hard times and was still recovering from the Cabal attacking, a sandwyrm awakening along with numerous other reports of bodies being torn apart at the academy and creatures that appeared undead populating the streets until a shadowy figure defeated them by themselves; Kyuji didn't realize that the figure that saved the village from an undead horde was his apprentice, Aikayume Azusa.

But the friendliness in the area was not something that was going to last long-term as the twins would downright insult Harupia which was also an indirect insult towards him in some regards. But, he would brush it off as words were simply that, words, and they didn't speak volumes like actions. Besides, he wasn't a fool after all and insulting a guest to their village would be rude especially with them helping in their hospital. The descendant of Byakko did slightly take offense to them declining his handshake as was evident by the embarrassed look that appeared on his face, but he could understand their reasoning that was explained by Akane. As for her twin brother, he decided to question him on his name and he was right in the regard that names did carry power with them, but he was misinformed it appeared from their leader, Sousuke. The boy would learn this quite soon but for now those organs that they were carrying would need to be carried to their proper destination soon or they were going to be expired and not worthy of a new vessel.

So, what did Kyuji do? He would first get on his headset making an announcement for a medic to come to their area and take these organs to their storage area. Within a few minutes, a nice little medic-in-training would appear giving a sweet smile to him as he patted her on the head and thanked her as she wheeled the organs away. His gaze would then turn to the others as he needed to give himself a moment to gather his thoughts prior to responding. After all, one wrong move could have all of them at his neck and trying to snap it or allied with him; these words were important as it could jeopardize how they saw him if he expressed his views in a wrong light.

After the brief few moments, he would nod and smile at them all again. It was time to get down to business. Calmly and respectfully, he would begin to respond starting with the one who decided to call him a liar: "Nobody is lying, Young Man. Lord Kazekage has just not gotten with the times yet like everyone else has. He is right in that my real name is Kanemoto Akujin, former medic-nin of the Hidden Stone. However, that name and the memories associated with it are long in the past now as I am a follower of Lord Byakko, the celestial white tiger. I go by Byakko Kyuji now as I am the direct descendant of Lord Byakko and have passed all trials to earn that name. I am also the chief of Sand's medical branch. So, I hope that clears up any concerns that you had, Akihiko."

The calm and respectful demeanor would continue as he addressed the bearded one: "Pleasure to meet you as well, Harupia. However, I have to agree with Akane and Akihiko on how reckless your actions have been. They are absolutely right and you should've came right after the fight to the makeshift tents to at least allow us to evaluate you. I mean you were not exactly wearing armor like Sousuke was nor able to regenerate your body parts like Brother Kuro can. In the future, please at least come for an evaluation after you finish a fight even if it is a mere spar against the students if you think you are not well or injured. I would say the same thing to Sousuke and Kuro as well, but you know how some people are with their heads. Don't take my words as scorn, I care about everyone in this village or who visits this village equally and my job is to medically treat you even if it is a little scrape or bruise if it could escalate to something bigger."

He would then shrug his shoulders to give himself a moment before continuing: "So if you came for an evaluation, let's get you to a room and evaluate you. Akane and Akihiko, you may give him the evaluation if you would like. I personally would like to see your skills in attention instead of giving you two grunt work since your talents are being wasted doing them. But first, is that why you are here, Harupia or is there something else?"

It was time to get down to business if there was business that needed to be taken care of. Hopefully, these three could all get along with one another and Kyuji moving forward after the initial conflicts. He felt like they could, but time would tell since they were in the Hospital where there were plenty of items that could be used as weapons!

Heh…it seemed his vision of being scolded upon his return home was quite accurate. Though he wasn’t expecting to received it from strangers. Then again, he could not say he did not deserve it… so many things to consider, and so little time with how dynamically the conversation was going.

As one of the twins chastised him he chuckled sheepishly saying “Well, where to find a capable medic the in the hospital itself. I should be fairly known here by now…” he mused, remembering himself after the fight with the Djinn…or the marathon of disarming explosives during the first cabal strike…not so good times “And I usually focus on teaching Ninjutsu to the children, and so far I think I’ve done a good job in teaching them safety” Hmm…he wasn’t sure if that came of as good humored of sassy.

In the meantime, as one of the other medics came to cart of the…organs away, the Medic Chief explained the confusion about his name…hmm, he didn’t seem like a religious type. Then again, who knows just what he has witnessed when coming from Stone. At Kyuji comment he let out a soft sigh saying “Ehh…I apologies to both of you. I didn’t mean to put the village in danger with my recklessness…or myself for that matter. I guess some habits die hard. To be honest I felt well enough or move, and I had no idea how the sickness would manifest itself, so I figured going straight here would save the trouble of transporting me here later on…I have spent a good few hours traversing the dessert before the fight, so my judgment may be somewhat skewed” he said in a deadpan tone…it seemed humorous in his mind.

At head medics question he said “Well, being here was mostly tied with getting checkup. Just to be sure if everything was fine. As I said, maybe not the best course of action…but I might be a bit ore exhausted then I anticipated, ehh. If it wouldn’t be a waste of time for either of you Id appreciate an evaluation of course” he concluded with a smile. Best make the best of his rather poor choices he figured.

The Sennin’s kind gesture, to relieve them of the menial duty, did not go unnoticed. And the offer to let them examine Harupia could be seen as the olive branch that it was. The two, as smart as they were, knew that another opportunity like this may not ever present itself again if they were to refuse it.

“They’ve lent an office for our use. We can handle the evaluation there. If you will follow us, Sunaku-san, Byakko-hakase,” the two intoned the moment the trolley was taken away.

Inclining their heads towards the stairs, they lead the way, way down to the first floor, away from the crowds of the front desk and the emergency room. Tucked away in the corner of the hospital, far away from the rest of the others, is the private office given to them. For as long they were the Kazekage’s guest, they were welcome to it. That didn’t mean they were treated with any form of friendliness of course. The room is cold and bare, unused before it was shoved in their direction. In it is a single bed with a thin mattress, an old scratched up table and a cabinet bare of necessities.

They would be under equipped and a tad bit rusty when it came to evaluations and checkups. But they wanted to impress, to prove their worth, to the medical Sennin. They just wished the man was in need of surgery or something dire instead. The two had more experience and worked better when there is death abound!

Gesturing for Harupia to sit on the bed, Akane gave a winning smile. It looked strange, compared to the stoic expression she had before. “So, shall we be conducting a general checkup then? Otherwise, I’m afraid we would be unfamiliar with a sandworm infection. The creatures are not native to our home country,” the woman said, with perfect bedside manner.

“It’s a good thing our supervisor is here then, to help us out if that’s the case,” Akihiko chuckled, still casual as ever on the other hand, as he points at thumb at Akujin.

It appeared that all parties that were present were starting to calm down and being more friendly with each other or at least trying. The silly, bearded individual would make some comments towards the twins and the medical chief, but all responses would wait until they were in the process of walking to the room. The descendant of Byakko was pleased however that the man was at least a little apologetic towards him for being so reckless, something that would not be forgotten in the long run. In any case, the twins were pleased that they were going to be able to put their skills to work, or so he assumed at least since it was far better than doing grunt work that students or the medics-in-training should be doing. Regardless, the twins would start to walk and the men would follow behind them.

During the walk to their office, the feline-like man would begin to respond to Harupia's comments. "I forgive you for being reckless, but understand that there are only so many medics in this Hospital and in the Byakko Infirmary. If you keep getting hurt, we will have to tend to you which is fine unless we have other patients as well that need emergency attention. Just remember, I am the only medical chief in this village currently as the other has disappeared and we have no Sennin for our branch. If people are being rushed in, I need to be able to assist where needed or operate if the situation is out of the hands of average medics," he explained.

Within moments of finished his remark, they were at the office of the twins. As soon as the door was opened, the descendant of Byakko frowned at the setup and condition of everything. The room in general was cold being tucked so far away from everything else and everything in it was outdated and needed replaced. If one was to look at Kyuji's face, they would see disgust in his eyes as he sighed heavily as he addressed the twins: "This room is terrible. I was not aware that this room was not being used nor was so horrible kept. The fact that no medics informed me that we had a room like this is concerning to me. I am sorry, Akane and Akihiko...we can discuss moving your office to a better room once your patient is evaluated."

He would then take a position against one of the walls as the twins and Harupia got down to business. He did hear the twins' comments and he did crack a slight smile. But he was more interested in seeing what these foreigners could do. After all, the Kazekage allowed them to participate in the Hospital so it wouldn't hurt to have them doing more things to help the Hospital like treating patients or doing research; grunt work was uncalled for and whoever decided to tell them to do that needed a nice kick in the arse.

|All seemed to work out in the end, with the twin doctors agreeing to evaluate him. It seemed the chief medic also mellowed down, though he did get a stern tailing to. Scratching his head sheepishly he said “I do understand that, and I do apologize again. I guess the long trek though the desert and all the adrenaline of fighting a legendary beast in the flesh got to my head… Wait, the other Medic Chief disappeared? You mean Yume?!” he asked, clear worry in his voice. He didint know many medics to closely but she seemed like a logical fit to at least be one of the chiefs...and hearing that a friend, if a bit distant, but also the significant other of you best friend, was quite worrying.

Then again maybe he shouldn't worry to much...would probably influence the evaluation. As they entered the room, he did marvel at the...minimalist ascethic of the office. He didint say much about It...unlike the medic chief. With a cough he said “It does seem like this has been an unoccupied room for quite a bit...perhaps the good doctors didint were to busy to settle in properly?”. As Akane smiled at him (which was a stark contrast to her earlier expression...though not an unwelcome one) he moved in to seat himself as he said “ I guess so, since it seems clear hat I'm most likely not infected...at least I dearly hope so. Only thing that comes to mind which might be wrong is general exhaustion and a bit of over heating maybe...as fancy as my desert cloak was I think it has seen better times, hehe. If I may ask, just where have you come form to visit us?” he asked both of the twins, growing quite curious to known bit more about the duo.

(OOC: To compleate the tirfecta, life got in my way as well here. Sorry to both of you. But Ill try my best to keep the ball rolling on)

“It serves its purpose,” Akane says with a small shrug of her shoulder. She really did not mind the room. It was understandable that they would be given a room a native doctor would refuse. After all, who knows how long they’d be around to help out? If they could be trusted at all to help out even? She’d have to work in worst, not only in her time as ANBU but as they roamed the lands as shinobi without a home.

Akihiko, on the other hand, had many choice words about it and scrunched up his nose at his sister’s blase statement. It was annoying for him, to say the least, considering he was nearly a Medic Chief back in Mist too before the Clan Exile happened. “We were just assigned to this room today. Honestly, I’ve seen janitors closets more extravagant than this hole in the wall. If it weren’t for the bed and the table already in here, I would say it was a supplies closet. Even the morgue is nicer than this. If you can wiggle your fingers and give us an upgrade, you won’t regret it,” he added with a small smirk before pointing at himself than at his twin. “Between the two of us and what we’ve been through, we got experience. General medicine, surgery, psychology, autopsy in the morgue? We do what’s needed. If we aren’t able to do what’s needed, we learn twice as fast. We weren’t called Mist prodigies for nothing.”

Sister has to shake her head at her brother’s humble antics and turns her attention to to the task at hand. “Unless Suna has a way to determine a Sandworm infection outright, the most we can do on that front is collect samples to send to Pathology and Diagnostics. Are there specific samples necessary to determine a Sandworm infection or will a blood sample do?” She then smiles at their patient. And the sight of it makes her near angelic, if it weren’t for the fact that she was joined by the hip to a twin brother who was grinning like the devil himself.

“I quite doubt you are suffering from hyperthermia,” Akihiko fires off, like an insufferable know-it-all. “The signs and symptoms of such are quite evident and its effects are sudden and severe, even for bullheaded men like yourself. As for the fatigue, is this a reoccurring thing? Or is this a new symptom? The more details you can give us, the better. It might be simple exhaustion or it could be something else, you know?”

Earlier, his fellow Sand shinobi had mentioned something about Yume that caught the ears of the descendant of Byakko, but he would wait till it was a better time to address his concern about the medic. This probably was in the best interest of all four of them in the room as the twins were definitely expressing their thoughts about the situation and patient that were given to them especially Akihiko. Throughout their dialogue, he would just stand there against the wall and allow them to let it all out before he responded since they didn't know him that well and he didn't exactly know them too well either and his Kazekage gave them the okay to work in the branch.

Once everyone had become quiet for a moment, he would begin to respond starting with the twins. It was a solemn tone that was in his voice as he addressed them: "Ah, you two were Mist shinobi. That would explain why I didn't see you around here before or in Earth Country a long time ago. Without intruding on your privacy, how is Mist doing right now? Is it still frozen or uninhabitable for humans? The most that I know about Water Country is that it harbored the Hidden Mist Village and that many of the shinobi from there either had to evacuate or died when the land froze over. I am sorry that it happened, but I hope that the land thaws enough for all former shinobi to be able to return to their homeland. As for your list of experience, it is impressive, quite impressive. I will see what I can do to utilize your knowledge greatly."

He would take a moment to gather his thoughts about sandworms especially Barnyx who had infected numerous parties with the Red Death that could kill them within a few days. After his thoughts were together, he would begin to respond to to them again directing his message at the one who asked: "There is not much about sandworm infections, Akane, unfortunately. The most that we know about being infected with what is called the Red Death is the patient will get an unbearable fever and their body will fight off the disease as long as it can before they ultimately die off trying to fight the disease. If Harupia had come to the makeshift hospital outside the Toraono Dojo the same day that he fought Barnyx, we could've put him into a healing chamber to make sure he wasn't affected and all his wounds would've been healed with a snap. However if he is still alive after that much time has passed, he isn't infected with the Red Death from Barynx. So, I would simply give him a normal evaluation and take a blood sample as well just to be safe." Yep, the best that they could do is a normal checkup since Harupia would've been dead by now if he had the Red Death. It was truly anti-climatic as he got a feeling that they really wanted to treat him for something deadly and more fun instead of the boring, normal procedures of a checkup.

His last thoughts would be directed at his fellow villager and it was a quick, but also solemn message: "Harupia, you asked about Yume. Last time that I saw her, she was doing well, but sadly I haven't seen her in awhile. I am not sure if she retired from her shinobi life or if she has passed. Our medical records do not have her listed as deceased so she is probably still alive somewhere. However, I have no idea where, friend."

He would close his eyes and let fate decide what happened next.

Haru listened as both of the twins discussed their current accommodation, Akane seeming much more accepting of it than her brother. Hmm, the calm gentle sister and the hot-headed brother...probably a simple way of seeing it but one said stereotypes were born for a reason...Still, he couldn't help but side with Akihiko, not the best place to be put in, but he guessed Akujin would probably be able to move them somewhere better. Listening to him speak on made him go a bit wide-eyed as he said. That is quite a bit under her belt...and they did look relatively young. His curiosity was starting to peek, though he couldn't hep but feel prying would be a bit not proper. Then again Akujinn already mentioned the state of their home village...Harupia picked up saying „I know we had one other member of the Mist village here. Las time I spoke to him he was preparing for an expedition to the village… I didn't get a chance to see him before my prolonged leave from the village, unfortunately..."

He tried to keep the conversation going, as he couldn't help but feel this was all somewhat using the patience of both parties involved. He was fine for all intents and purposes, and as Akujin explained later on, if he were infected, by all intents and purposes he'd probably be dead by now. And besides that, he didn't quite feel bad, besides the general fatigue one would feel after a long journey and a pretty intense battle. Still, it didn't seems they minded much...at least if Akane's smile was any indication. She did have the calming visage of a medic down to a tee...though her brother looking as if he was getting ready to dissect him made him feel less assured.

He spoke up „Hmm...to be honest I never thought much about how sudden would hyperthermia be...II assume that it might be something that kinds of sneaks up on you if you don't check for it. And to be honest, not really, not more than any other Shinobi. I think I might have gotten a bit out of shape during my travel. But I doubt it would be because of any disease. I'm pretty sure if I was having some disease brewing inside of me, and traveled a few days through the desert, the symptoms would be a lot clearer" he said with a chuckle. Probably speaking up about the environment he was dealing with might help...but that was some information eh didn't quite want to get into. As Akujin spoke about Yume, he looked somewhat surprised before sighing „Ahh...so we have some confirmation she's no dead...that's somewhat reassuring… Sure seems I've been missing a lot as I was away" closing his eyes as well. Probably not best tot gets worried during a medical check up. Probably would spike the pulse or something there.

“If you haven’t been experiencing adverse symptoms, there’s hardly anything to worry about. Though if you feel tired, I would suggest a day off or two from your duties, especially after fighting a Sandworm,” Akane smiles, patting Harupia’s arm in a careful manner.

A normal evaluation? How boring.

And here they were hoping they’d have hands-on learning with a rare sort of infection. Akihiko, being the official Medic of the two, can’t even remember the last time he gave an ordinary check-up. He had always thought of some harebrained scheme to get himself out of the mandatory clinic hours after their first year of general practice so that they could focus more on the medical branches that actually interested them.

Surgery was always a thrill. To know that a person’s life was very much in their hands? Where one move could mean the end of the patient under the knife? Not to mention getting his hands dirty with all that blood. Oh, Akihiko definitely had the eye and dexterity for it though he would deny that he was always so tempted to make one wrong move, even at the expense of his medical license.

Psychology coincided more with Akane’s ideals. To know how human’s ticked? To know them more about them then they do about themselves? Psychoses and syndromes and disorders were all so fascinating. Though none were as fascinating as fear, phobias, that were essentially human motivation. A person’s fear could say so much about them. It aided a lot during Akane’s time as an ANBU.

Autopsy was a little bit of both. Though it was telling things about a person’s death, rather than how they lived. And it was always a convenient way to study bodies for their own... studies.

They could certainly pretend that they didn’t mind doing such a painfully boring task. At the very least, it was made less boring by the conversation they had going. Although-

The twins’ eyes darken at the Medic Chief’s question and a heavy air came about the both of them.

“It is still frozen and uninhabitable, unfortunately.”

“Although we had come to travel in hopes of remedying that.”

Both snapped to attention, two pairs of crimson eyes boring into Harupia at his words.

“There’s a Mist nin here, you say?”

“What was their name?”

“Per chance, are they still here?”

“Do you know where they are?”

It was a disturbing sight, to see them act so oddly. Especially when Akihiko still has a syringe in his hand for their patient’s blood extraction.

The descendant of Byakko would continue to allow his eyes to be shut as he listened to all parties conversing with one another in the room. It appeared the conversation had quickly taken a turn towards the frozen wasteland of Water Country and a potentially former shinobi of the village lurking in the village. Initially, he was going to allow the conversation to continue between the two parties, but he also had some information that could prove helpful to all of them in the room so he had to speak. He would allow the twins to finish their questioning towards Harupia before his eyes would reopen and he would emit a light cough to catch their attention. Once he had their attention, he would simply say the following: "I know of a few people that are from your home country. Do the names of Kagyaku Enzeru, Uziuke, Sunaku Isamu or Keitasu ring any bells? I know for a fact that Keitasu is still roaming the village probably consuming three grown males' portions for meals. Enzeru and Uziuke have become medics for our village here and I saw the Isamu fellow a few months ago so he may be around still as well. Would you like me to call for any of them after your done with your checkup or send out a messenger of my clan to get them to meet you, at say, my clan's home so you guys to go about your business without any interference?"

He would close his eyes again and allow all parties to react as they saw fit to his information. In actuality, he had no idea what they were planning to do with their home country but he knew some of the individuals that he spoke to before were very passionate about their former home and distraught that it was frozen over. It was expected however as the descendant of Byakko would've probably felt the same way about Earth Country if he knew the events that transpired after he ran from his home as a lost soul and became a shinobi of the Sand. He truly did feel for these people who had to relocate or endless travel since they had no home. This is why he was slowly offering more and more rooms in his home for guests to take especially if they were from the Hidden Mist initially.

The real question on hand at the moment however was what would the twins think about this new development? Hopefully, this information would be helpful for them in their conquest whatever that was! At the very least, he had listed some names that were former shinobi of Hidden Mist and they could search them out and conjure up a plan or a club for them all. He would also need to talk to the Kazekage to see if there was anyway that their village could help these former shinobi that had no homes right now. Honestly, there was probably hope for them since the Kazekage had a big heart and he cared about humanity as a whole; but one could never be sure honestly as people's thoughts and opinions changed quite often!

Well, feelings of anxiety aside this was quite a nice conversation all things considered. He nodded his head at the suggestion of resisting saying "That's some medical advice I won't have trouble following...though I hope you won't leave me all bed ridden. I need to visit a few people now that IM back in the village" closing his eyes a bit as he saw one of the twins go for a needle. He wasn't adverse to injections or bloodletting, though he didn't quite enjoy seeing the needle pierce the skin... in spite of the fact he saw much larger blades do the same. He did notice the tone of their voice went a bit more somber as they spoke about their village, he could only assume this wasn't a pleasant thing to think of.

He opened his eyes after mentioning meeting a Mist nin...only to be met by their gaze. Things have indeed escalated quickly from a check up to an apparent interrogation...the needed in Akihiko hand not helping matters. Fortunately for him, Akujin did have his hand on the pulse here, naming some of the other Mist nin in Suna. he wasn't aware it was that many...but that was enough to fill in the blanks in his mind as he said "Enzeru!...Ekhm, I met with Enzeru. He was preparing for a journey back to Mist, along with his significant other Kimi, another medic of our village. Unfortunately, I can't tell you much beyond that. I did not see them since then. But I seem Akujin might be helpful in bringing you up to speed..."

As he spoke a bit of a realization struck as he said "Speaking of which actually, seeing were already here... Would it be too much of a bother to ask what's been happening int he village recently? Or well, not so recently as well. I feel I've missed much over the year I; Id is not been home...anI'd very much like to remedy that.

Enzeru... Uziuke... Keaitsu, Isamu, they all were familiar, especially the last. Kimi too. That was peculiar. Interesting. To think Mist nin would go to a village so far removed from their own home country in terms of surroundings. And here they thought they’d have to go as far as Cloud to find a single of their countrymen. What luck.

The two Sand nin turned to talking about their own village then. Understandable. They wouldn’t imagine people would be too concerned about a foreign country. Especially a dead one.

“We still need to take a blood sample, buddy. Just to be sure,” Akihiko intoned, waving the syringe in his hand around to remind Harupia of it’s existence. “So if you could take a deep breathe and one, two-” he warns, inserting the needle on three.

It’s a pinprick, like a mosquito bite, with how Akane holds the man and pushes a soothing chakra into him. They’d had their fair share of people too afraid of the things and it’s always better to manipulate them to be distracted or numb to the sensation then wrestle like morons.

In the blink of an eye, it’s over. Immediately, Akane takes a cotton swab and dips it into some disinfecting alcohol, swipes at the needle mark and tapes it down. “We’ll be bringing this to the labs and ensure the task previously assigned to us was done properly,” she said matter-of-factly.

Though it was obvious on their faces that they were distracted. No doubt by the thought there were other Mist nin here.

“If you can-”

“Excuse us.”

Without another word, they vanish.

The descendant of Byakko would listen to his fellow shinobi from their village talk and ask about how the village was doing while he was gone. In all honesty, Kyuji was going to answer the question right there but the twins would interject stating they needed a blood sample from the man still which the medical chief would allow and wait to respond to the man. As they were doing their work, he could see on their faces a sense of distraction possibly from listing all the former Mist shinobi that had decided to make their home in his village right now. Once they finished, they would excuse themselves leaving the two adults left in the room.

Seeing as the procedures had gone successfully and Harupia was not in any immediate danger, they could relax and Kyuji could try to catch the guy up to speed on what was happening in the village quickly. This is when the descendant began to speak: "I cannot say what has been happening since you last were here to be honest. I know we were dealing with small little issues like Cabal sympathizers when I originally came here and corruption is still running wild in the Grand Palais which I am going to talk to Sousuke about when he and I have time. Aside from that, there really isn't much else I can tell you since I have been dealing strictly with medical issues and taking care of individuals in my home whom had to move in due to unforeseeable circumstances."

He would pause a moment to gather his thoughts but he would be asked for over the intercom. He would shrug his shoulders and say: "Duty calls, Harupia. But, let's plan to meet in better conditions in the future since I would love to see how you are doing medically and readjusting to the village. Now, please excuse me."

A simple bow would be given and then he would head off to the section of the Hospital that needed him.

Haru remained mostly silent as the examination was finished with a bit of a blood sample...it seemed the twin medics were distracted with thinking about their own village...he couldn't quite blame them honestly. He wasn't sure why but seeing her reaction made him think about how he left the village in its time of need...while here they were, still yearning for their home in spite of everything that happened. \he thanked both of them as he made his way out. He needed to get reacquainted with the village himself
