Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Despite how hard Maikeru tried to move forward, to forge new paths for his life, he consistently found himself backtracking to his old ways. He was an accomplished swordsman, with the aid of his Sharingan he would genuinely, without bias, say he was one of the most skilled in the cloud village. Well, perhaps a slight amount of bias. Regardless, with everything that had happened to him lately, between the mark of the king and the cursed seal, he found himself using his bladeless and less. It didn’t help that the sword he had spent hours crafting and forging to be perfect for him was a useless husk leaning against his bedroom wall, the spirit of it now residing inside of his own body.

Still, there was nothing wrong with gaining new power, even if it wasn’t in the way he had envisioned. For whatever reason he found himself leaning back on genjutsu and ninjutsu, like he had when he was still the academy, back when he had fought the legendary fire-tamer Saitou Reicheru, and he had been known as Joker. There was a small smile that came to his face as he remembered that night before it quickly faded as new memories overtook it. With a sigh, he picked up his satchel and walked towards the door of his fifth floor home, leaving the husk of Kusanagi behind. It was time for something new, or well, old depending on how you looked at it.

The cool spring air bit against his face as he locked the door behind him, taking a moment to enjoy the slight warmth as he stepped onto the railing outside of his domicile. Inhaling deeply, he leaped forward, going from rooftop to rooftop towards his destination. The Coliseum was where he was headed today, where an opponent would be waiting for him already. He had prearranged this little bout days ago, eager to test what these new boons he had received had given him.

When he arrived his opponent was already waiting for him, a blue-haired Chuunin from the main branch whom he had met at the hospital. Perhaps using his patient as a potential test subject for his own growth was unethical, but, he wasn’t really concerned with that as this moment. Instead, he simply slipped out of his trench coat, letting the heavy garment fall to the ground as he prepared himself.

“Oi, doc.” The girl called out, a bit too cheerful for how early in the morning it was. “You sure you wanna go through with this? I know you medics probably don’t spend too much time on combat training.”

Maikeru simply smiled in response, bringing up his fist into an aggressive combat stance. As he did so, the spirit of his blade, Susano, manifested behind him. A large blue armored samurai, with a grizzly looking chipped blade, the handle of which was wrapped in long flowing bandages. This brought out a low whistle from the girl as she dropped into her own combat stance, maybe this fight would be more interesting than she had anticipated.

Hopping on her feet, the girl jumped into her own combat stance, more agile and dextrous than her opponents. As she hopped up and down, the balls of her feet making contact with each leap, keeping her as mobile as possible, she began to move. Flicking her wrist as she came towards the Uchiha to draw out a kunai in each hand. There was a brief moment of pause in the battle, perceivable to only the opponents. A moment where they eyed each other up, looking for weaknesses to exploit and weak points on their body to abuse.

Maikeru’s Sharingan willed into life, the tomoe spinning before settling in their final place around his pupil. He saw the girl’s movements with heightened clarity, each movement of her limbs appearing to him moments before the girl actually made them. There was one final smile from each combatant before their first contact began.

The girl brought her kunai down in a wide over hand arc, aiming for the neck of the Uchiha, drawing out a side step from the boy, before countering with a quick jab aimed at her rib cage. As the boy moved his spirit mimicked the movements, it’s blade coming down in a wide arc at the girl. Rolling on her feet she moved to the left, avoiding the counter, and getting closer to limit her opponent's range of motion.

She was smaller than the boy in front of her, which she knew she needed to use to her advantage. As she rolled she planted her lead foot inside of Maikeru’s guard, flipping the kunai in her palm in order to bring it into an upward slash aimed at his chest. Reacting quickly he brought his corrupted right arm up to block as he brought his lead foot back, the blade bounced harmlessly off the stone like limb, but, it gave the girl momentum. She dug in, dropping the kunai to quickly weave one-handed seals in the boy’s face.

His Sharingan spun wildly as it analyzed the jutsu being cast, his eyes widening as the realization dawned on him. A spark of lightning erupted from her palm, before being shot forward towards the unexpecting boy. With little time to counter, he did what only came natural to him. From his stomach, the sealing matrix containing the power of his spirit unraveled, sending dark black lines all across the exposed parts of his body, up to his chin.

He jumped backwards, his body convulsing from the burst of electricity that ravaged through his muscular system. Taking a moment, he ran his tongue along the enlarged canines in his mouth, a thoughtful expression on his face.

‘So… the mark of the king does interact with my cursed seal, fascinating.’ He thought to himself, before bringing his fist up again. Perhaps it was time to stop going easy.

Around him invisible energy started to leak from the cursed seal, the particles infecting and ravaging the body of his opponent. Her limbs started to feel heavy, her muscles refused to react the way she commanded them, like invisible spider threads holding and weighing her down. Licking his lips maliciously, the boy’s eyes evolved once again, forming into the Mangekyo Sharingan of his clan.

“Let’s begin, shall we?” He asked, a wicked smile coming onto his face.

The cursed right arm of his body began to glow, the blue gem-like qualities creating an ethereal light from them as one of the many augments he had crafted released their sealing matrix. Disappearing in a flash of blue electricity, he appeared in front of the girl, his hand glowing with cursed energy.

“Shit shit shit!” she muttered before feeling the weight of his fist lock into her stomach, causing her to double over. When the hell did medics learn to fight?

Pushing his own momentum this time, Maikeru followed up. He brought his foot up in a vicious kicked aimed at the girl’s head, disorienting her and buying him time. Rapidly running through hand seals, he eventually landed on the tiger sign before jumping backwards.

“Sol fire tempest!” he roared, summoning three large meteors from the sky.

Adrenaline filled his blood as the cursed seal finally kicked in, giving his already enhanced clarity and precognition even greater visual prowess. Kicking off from his landing position, he was already working on his next move, watching as the girl did her best to dodge the large celestial bodies he had summoned forth.

As she jumped around, dodging explosion after explosion, Maikeru intercepted her path, his eyes spinning as they met with hers.

“Tsukuyomi!” He muttered, the genjutsu landing it’s effects on the girl.

As she cried and screamed, the tortures of her own psyche damaging her, Maikeru just watched with a coldness in his eyes unlike him. If he were more aware of himself he would be disgusted, he would question what he had truly become, but, there was none of that. He simply watched as the girl fell to her knees, before falling to the mental assault.

Grimacing, Maikeru knelt down, placing a hand on her stomach before crafting his own one-handed seals. The green glow the emanated from his palm radiated through her body, causing her breathing to become apparent and more steady.

“Good.. can’t have you dying on me..” He said simply, before turning and exiting the colliseum. He had a bigger fish to fry.
