Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

"Self defense!" Watashi shouted as loudly as he could towards the direction of the crowd before splashing the fireball in the direction of the crowd of peasants in front of him. Backing up slowly with his hands still at the ready, Watashi listened closely to hear if the crowd was going to continue advancing towards the two shinobi or back off after that one. Instead of cries of pain however, Watashi was only hearing gasps of horror and sounds of alarm. He heard a projectile whiz past him and splash against something solid. Maybe he had hit a building or something?

Watashi shook his head regretfully. His aim wasn’t really doing too hot today and from the sound of that splash, Yuuto was helping to put out the fire? The alternative was that the samurai had someone that could use jutsu and that wasn’t really a thought Watashi wanted to entertain!

Coming to the realization that he had a few less lethal jutsu at his disposal, Watashi paused for a bit to scratch the back of his head in abashment. Forming the hand signs for Gravel Shift, Watashi used it on the swath of road between himself and the crowd. Satisfied that he was bein’ a good shinobi and not killing civilians, Watashi turned around to pursue the footsteps of Yuuto that were getting further and further away.

Occasionally Watashi would bump into a thing or two, but anything that the lad could grab for support, he would give it a tug or two to try and bring it along. Maps boy was lookin’ for maps after all, but Blind Boy was here for loot!

"Map, map, map...this one might be the Solum..." Yuuto pores over a variety of different documents, scanning intensely for the ideal spot. "Forest, ruins, river, forest, ruins, river...ugh, why are none of these close by? Is this even the Solum? Damned if I know..." Yuuto's voice was reaching a peak in frustration as the mystery hideout location continued to elude him.

"Watashi, come help me...actually, uh, nevermind. Help me gather some of these documents? Or...some of their swords or armour and the like? It's up to you, really." Yuuto addresses his partner in crime without looking back at him, his eyes continuing to rove over the parchment, combing once more.

Yuuto continues to search for some amount of time, his expression growing darker and darker, until the gnawing sense of anticipation finally won over, or earlier if Watashi pipes up to make him stop. Resigning to his failure, he begins to hurriedly roll up all the paper he can. Kicking himself for not bringing a bag, and making a mental note to get a big one as soon as possible, he takes inspiration from Watashi and gently shoves some of his ill-gotten documents down his shirt to free up room for his arms to carry more. Looking over to Watashi, he calls out, "If you're finished, let's get going quickly, we really don't want to run into those samurai like this." Taking off at a half-run, a pace to keep his goods secure, he makes his way back into range of the Stone Bullets. A brief check on the fire revealed that the villagers had half-dealt with the problem; their efforts kept the fire from spreading to the other houses, but it continued to burn brightly, and would likely engulf the building should the samurai not arrive soon.

"Mmm, I know we should go, but...it'll just take a few seconds," Yuuto awkwardly forms handseals, trying to not crush or drop his documents in the process. A spiral of water rushes out of Yuuto's mouth, aiming slightly over the roof before the chakra keeping its shape is dispersed, making it cascade down as formless water.

"Sorry, let's go now."

Finally making his way to the building that Yuuto had found earlier, Watashi walked in hoping to be hearing the triumphant sounds signaling that the other boy had found the map that they were looking for. Unfortunately, although it sounded like Yuuto had found the map that they wanted, they were in a god-awful spot for a base to be built. With none of the things that Naohiro had wanted them to have, it seemed like it was time to call it a day for this particular mission.

Watashi started wandering around and grabbing anything that wasn’t bolted down to the ground at Yuuto’s invitation to gather stuff. Sticking them all into his bag (which at this point, had only a few explosive tags, the stuff he snagged earlier and a lighter), the blind lad smirked at the sound of rustling paper next to him. Yuuto probably hadn’t had Watashi’s foresight to bring a nice proper bag in the first place!

Yeah sure, I’m ready to head out,” Watashi said, grabbing a few final fistfuls of documents before following Yuuto’s weird jog-run out of the building. Did the other lad want to fight the villagers or take out some samurai? Either way, Watashi planned to back up his companion. When Yuuto spewed his water jutsu back in the direction of the burning roof though, the Watashi groaned.

That fire coulda delayed the samurai that were chasing the duo down after all! Maybe they could have found a decent map then, and not be forced to go out scouting again. Shaking his head at the prospect of having to do all of this over again, Watashi sighed before forming his handseals to switch with his stone bullet before it was too late.

Last one out is a rotten nerd!

Annoying. Yuuto dreaded what unique insult Naohiro would dream up when the pair returned from there mission, having failed. At least they had a map and...pieces of paper? It was better than bringing back nothing at all, at least... Yuuto resolved to study the documents further, after the scouting debacle had been completed once and for all.

Somewhere nearby, five samurai, adorned in heavy armour, start to head back from their wild goose chase, tired, disgruntled, and in the mood to throttle two young shinobi.

Last one out is a rotten nerd!” cries Watashi as he vanishes into thin air, a rock the only sign he was ever there. Yuuto hurriedly follows suit, clinging to his papers tightly as his form is displaced, switching with his stone bullet back to the outside of the village.

[OOC: Samurai POV]

The village drew into view, as the group of five march back, slightly bedraggled from chasing after shinobi that were never there in the first place. Bitter taste of failure in their mouth, but eager to pretend this never happened, they... was that smoke? Taking into a run, they sprint as fast as five men in heavy armour could sprint, they race to get back to the village to quell whatever had happened there...only to notice two young children seemingly appearing ou of nowhere.

[OOC: And back to Yuuto]

"HEY!" cry out the shouts of some familiar sounding samurai.

"Well, let's get going," Yuuto says before starting to run towards the vast open fields. "Follow my voice, I guess! If we're lucky we might not be followed!" With papers in hand, the boy sets off running, back to report to Naohiro of what occured.

Watashi listened around to make sure that the body switch had worked and that they were out of the village before hearing the sounds of Yuuto popping into existence next to him, along with the sounds of some pretty angry buff boys running towards them. Yuuto probably did something to make them mad again, the hack!

With the other boy in the lead, Watashi got to his feet and started sprinting off into the fields behind him, following the sound of his voice. He was running a bit low on his chakra reserves after all of that stone bullet shenanigans after all, and Yuuto was physically running away too. It was a neat trick, but man was it hard to use that stone bullet train multiple times in a row! "You know," He began smugly. "You're the rotten nerd this time! Maybe you should be faster in the future or something, huh?"

Watashi patted the bag at his side a few times before remembering that the sounds of frustration Yuuto had been making earlier and what they probably meant. “Guess we’ve gotta do this all again! We don’t even have the donuts or the carrots this next time! Might have to restock when we go to update the others and that big board back on the ship!

The blind lad hummed for a little bit, following Yuuto and hearing the receding sounds of their pursuers getting lost in their dust before getting one last quip in. “I bet the others haven’t even started their missions though! We'll be way ahead of them still!
