Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Kaji Okada’s Hunter Chronicles
Entry №5: Reptilius
It was late into the evening, and the last candle sconce had blown out in the chamber where Kaji was resting for the night. The setting was a rather upscale hotel room which he had to himself, compliments of the village’s high-council. Each of his comrades were another door down in a long hallway. Ruby red royal rugs lined smooth marble floors, and an oil painting of a past Raikage with an eye patch was framed, looking ahead with a dead stare on the wall. Tonight was Kaji’s first real night of slumber since his journey to the Hidden Cloud began, as he was required to remain vigilant while on the long roads, for his two pupils and the Hokage.

The room was a comfortable one, with a big soft bed much nicer than anything he ever laid upon in his upbringing, or at home, and definitely not while on the road. Kaji was sound asleep in the cold blueness of the night, comfortably tucked in beneath warm blankets when the sound of scratching against his window pulled him back to consciousness. First discerning the scratching as some kind of pesky creature on the window sill, Kaji did not bother to look and remained within the bed’s warmth. But then that pesky continued and worsened until he had no choice but to arise. He pushed back the thick blankets, revealing himself, only wearing striped pajama pants to cover his lower half. His bare upper body was a symphony of sleek musculature, tattoos and brands of the affiliations he made in his lifetime, and the scars that proved his many adventures. Stepping carefully towards the portal, he discovered a large silhouette created by the glow of the moon; a creature with a humanoid shape.

Mei Lithia.
Kaji did not panic, for he recognized that shape even in the dead of night. He saw the frail form and confusion crossed his face. Hurriedly, he unlatched the window lock. The being outside snatched the window frame outward, and a frigid wind sapped his chamber of its warmth in an instant. The bristling breeze pushed aside her violet cloak, revealing his old acquaintance in her entirety. Her name was Mei, and she was an heiress of the Lithia clan, hailing from Kodachi no Tenchi. But the Metropolis of Kodachi was more than three weeks travel away, in the sweltering land of Wind. Mei almost bowled Kaji over as she rushed to escape the grasp of the Hidden Cloud’s wintry touch, and flopped down onto his bed, which still retained a hint of body heat. She was poorly dressed for an adventure in this tundra, so much that Kaji was surprised a cold-blooded being such as she could thrive at all in the lightning country. The petite woman quickly bound herself up in the blankets, making a mess of his bed while Kaji stood by idly with a pestered expression.

“Mei” Kaji spoke her name flatly, repeating it a few times until she stopped vibrating in a desperate effort to generate more heat. “What are you doing here?” He then took a seat by the edge of the bed and looked to his chibi-like ally with visible concern. Seeing her here of all places meant much more than a mere social call. By the time Mei was comfortably warm, all of the bedsheets were rolled up around her, and she resembled a powdered grape jelly roll, as only her head poked out of one end. Long locks of silky purple hair matched her eyes, which looked up to Kaji and glistened in the moonlight. Once they made eye contact, Mei receded into a childlike state, blushing and turning teary-eyed. “Mei, what is the meaning of this?” Kaji’s sense of urgency was like an attack to Mei, who exploited her fragility often by overreacting. “D-don’t cry,” Kaji urged her, fearing what would happen if the guards protecting his party might do if they discovered the intruder. “Please don’t cry… I’m not mad” he insisted twice, “is there something wrong? Is it Burai? Oh no… Has Burai passed away?!” Kaji’s guesswork only worsened the matter, and he resorted to covering her mouth when she broke into a wailing cry. Burai was Mei’s betrothed; the valiant leader of her clan and was left with a brief life expectancy after a ritual left him sapped of his power. Just the mention of his name sent Mei over the edge. With no option left but to gag her, Kaji reached for a half-eaten cookie on his nightstand and shoved the morsel into her mouth. That did the trick, and she stopped whining long enough to enjoy his left-over desert.

“I’m sorry, Lady Lithia” Kaji said, trying to appease her so that he could get to the bottom of her sudden arrival, let alone how she managed to reach him at the Hidden Cloud. He wiped the bangs out of her eyes gently, given she was still laying face-up on the bed and immobile, except for her munching mouth. Now that she was warm and had a snack, she was subdued and capable of engaging Kaji without breaking down. “Kaji-san, Teichou-sama sent me here to deliver something to you… there is trouble within the clan that only you can resolve.” Mei then squirmed until she freed a hand from within the literal bed roll, and revealed the same large crystalline badge Kaji confiscated from Burai, many months ago. Mei was presenting it back to Kaji now. Just holding it sent the power of her innate abilities into overdrive, causing her eye’s pupils to narrow into their natural reptilian shape. Her tongue was sharpening, and small purple scales began to sprout from her cheeks. Kaji accepted the token if only to spare Mei from being transformed unwillingly by the empowering device. It was called a Morpher and was the source of incredible sage chakra, imbued by generations of legendary lizard clan warriors. Kaji could feel the power of it in his hand, similar to the sensation he received when wielding his enchanted blade, Eelspine, but much greater in power. Gazing into the Morpher glowing center, Kaji was concerned for what this gift would imply. “I did not need this dweomer to defeat Burai, so what in the world could Teichou-sama possibly expect me to need it for now?”
