Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

It was a Friday morning in the elegant village known as Sunagakure as the early birds were getting their worms and a tutoring session had been scheduled for 8 AM on the first floor of the Academy open to all. The focus of the session had not been detailed at all when it was posted around the village and on the academy's bulletin board, but it did note that it was being ran by a member of one of the prestigious clans of the country, but again there was no hints if it was a Toraono Clan or the Takahashi or even the Aikayume. Anyone that would want to attend the session was practically left in the dark about what it would entail, but it also had to peak their curiosity that the instructor behind the session was being mysterious almost like this was a game or a test for them to figure out something. The question that anyone that had read the postings must have thought to themselves was if it was a wise decision to take a chance and see what fate had in store for them.

If one of these brave souls would decide to venture to the Academy this early in the morning, they would notice that the training grounds were silent and there seemed to be no other souls around this early in the day. But, this also meant that there would be no distractions for them and they could focus entirely on the situation at hand which was this session being taught by an unknown. Once they admired the stillness of the outside, they would notice that the door to the Academy was open and a light was illuminating from one of the first rooms inside of the educational facility. Yet if they entered the room, they would see a generic classroom with their eyes and not any sign of their tutor for the day. It was possible the young bodies had arrived before their lecturer or yet, another test was already being conducted on them from afar. There was truly no way for them to know one way or another especially since they didn't even know who was assigned to the class today.

In any case, they had an option for coming this far and this early. Would they take a seat and see what the class would have in store for them as the clock would strike 8 AM any moment now or would they run from the situation and never know what could have been. They had a decision to make here and now if they had come this far. What would they do?
OOC:
  • Welcome to a Tutor! I will be the one who runs this thread this time around and I have a few things to mention prior to starting:
    • This does not take your 4 free RP slots. This will take your Class/Tutoring Slot.
    • Usually, I would have a posting rule of 48 hours, but I know that I cannot make that myself so let's just try to progress this as smoothly as possible. I will post every Friday/Saturday and will do my best to post during the week if everyone else has done so.
    • Since I am posting every weekend essentially and giving everyone almost a week, if one does not meet the deadline, they will have a strike added. Three strikes and you will be kicked out of the class.
    • There is no max limit for people to join, but I am closing it off after my next post.
    • Good luck and have fun!

Chiyoko never knew the school could even open at such an early time. Half the time she did not even know what early is due to how the landscape was. Everywhere is either very bright or very dark, making her feel like it was hard to keep track of time without a time keeping object.

Chiyoko stared at the mirror, fully dressed and ready for a new day. Well at least she felt like she was ready. It was hard thinking of how the world works, and Chiyoko had to face the toughness of the fact that she is both the Aikayume and the Byakko. Though both clans fall beneath a common leader, the Toraono, the two had tensions between them but for some reason, Chiyoko could feel that there was a responsibility to close the gap weighing on her. It was not the first Chiyoko felt this uncertainty. Taking a deep breath, she had to mature each day. It was not worth pondering over her Byakko stripes and Aikayume fox parts, it was her, and her alone. A servant called out to her, asking whether she needed guidance towards the school. A reply of no slightly worried this servant, but the decision was respected.

Chiyoko was one of the first few to step in, and it felt bitter. Chiyoko never thought she see a place so empty. Even graveyards had one or two people visiting their passed family. Sometimes Chiyoko wonders if her parents are among the graves. Wiping a stray tear, Chiyoko enters the building to search for this classroom.

Chiyoko wondered to herself why she was here again as she walked through the hallways and stairs, hearing only her shoes tap against the floor. It was just another day, and Chiyoko then found herself staring at a post, and then the same post at another place, and it repeated throughout her day. Curiousity then peaked and she swiped one on the streets and read it to herself. A tutoring lesson to be taken right at the very school itself at a time early enough that most ninja are making breakfast. It sounded like a chance to be better.

Chiyoko stood before the door and curiously opens it. It wad empty. The clock has yet to strike 8am but Chiyoko felt it was rather irresponsible for the tutor to not even be here in the classroom waiting. However it did not stop Chiyoko from approaching a seat at the front, and putting a bag filled with things down beside the table. Her ears twitched, was she the only one here?

          • The day had been long, surprisingly. He'd done a few, simple things -- he'd... walked the dog, as plain a tale as that was. He'd read a few chapters of the most recent, riveting novel by his favorite author-poet, and of course he'd run around the Sietch Zensunna -- where he lived -- a few times indiscriminately, an exercise of both agility and endurance. Now, he'd caught wind of a possibly cursory lesson strewn together by a not-so-cursory shinobi, someone with ample experience and worthy words to adhere to.

Satoru needed to remind himself that - alas - he wanted once more to be a shinobi, and that meant committing time to it, as many challenges as it brought, and as many vices as it seemed to trickle down unto him. Ambition, aggression, impatience. He knew that it was all meaningful, and that he could grow and develop and make a real impact. He knew that there was no grander career for acquiring internal and external power both.

But these lessons had always brought him the slightest discomfort. No longer was he in a controlled environment with people he knew, and trusted, the squadmates that he'd left behind. Now, even as a Gennin developed in his craft, he was forced into enclaves of learning with disparate strangers and educators with little interest in him or his own growth -- but rather, their own words, and their own lessons. Or so he had experienced before, in all his attempts to re-connect with the life he'd left behind.

Being a shinobi was rough. Being the shinobi who'd spent the last seven years not caring, whatsoever, for his own future was... far more difficult to swallow, especially for his peers. Being here, as he was now, was only more uncomfortable for each moment and minute that passed. But he observed the 'dojo' around him -- the building of collected tatami floors and wooden pillars, the straw like foundations stained and indented by the heavy pacing of fleet-footed shinobi learning to master their own form.

He was nothing like them. At least -- not yet. Not for a while. Not until he recollected himself, and took the time to be someone worthy again. Until then?

He really was nothing like them at all.

Eight o' clock in the morning. Who decided to have a class that early? Nobu's parents were still asleep when the boy dragged himself out of bed and got ready to head out. After a quick clean-up and putting on some fresh clothes, Nobu had a simple breakfast of rice, natto, and miso soup, prepared by a family servant of course. The boy couldn't help but feel that every morning was... disappointingly mundane. He knew he was just an academy student right now, but Nobu had at least expected to do something... notable already? Something to make him stand out? Instead he'd just been a good student. Not top of the class, but good.

That just meant his time was still coming, Nobu convinced himself as he headed out of the house. After all, the family elders always talked about what an amazing shinobi he would be as the latest product of the Domen family bloodline. One day he'd be the most powerful Shinobi in Sunagakure, once he'd reach his full potential. Perhaps even the strongest in the world, stronger even than all the Kage. To Nobu, this wasn't just some childhood dream or a naive hope; to him, this was just a fact of life, something that would come to pass with no doubt whatsoever.

Before long, Nobu swaggered into the school building, his blue hoodie hanging open to show the mesh armor underneath. He was curious as to who would teach this class, and who would be taking it alongside him. The had academy sure looked abandoned from the outside, except for the lights burning in a single room near the entrance. Poking his head inside, he noticed that he was one of the first, together with some weird foxgirl and a broody-looking older dude. Surprising, since it was almost time. He'd barely made it there.

Well, maybe the teacher was late. Gave him time to get a seat without getting hassled. The boy didn't bother to greet or even acknowledge the other two in the room. Wordlessly, he walked over and pulled out a seat somewhere towards the back of the classroom. Sitting down, he leaned back to put his feet up on the desk. Something about the situation felt weird. Why would such an important ninja openly invite students, only to not appear. Perhaps the test had already begun - after all, a shinobi had to deal with the unexpected. Maybe he should look for the teacher with a jutsu. Nobu took his hands out of his pocket, ready to start making seals.

It was about ten minutes before 8am that Kyokuso arrived at the academy. Much has changed since he last been to the academy... in fact the last time he was at the academy, it wasn't even this academy. This was just a few years ago, back when the academy was underground. To be honest, Kyokuso was quite happy that the academy has now migrated to the surface, even if construction still abounded. Sunlight does wonders for someone that used to be frail such as him, and living on the surface was definitely nice. In the past, Kyokuso was weak - so weak that after his first attempt to enter the academy, he had never returned, not even once. During that first attempt he had to be taken to the emergency, just because of how much strain it was on him. That was six years ago. Now, he was 14 - quite a fair bit older his peers - but he felt like his enthusiasm would definitely make up for it.

It took Kyokuso a bit more time to get to the actual appointed academy room, courtesy of his cumbersome kimono. For some reason, his parents had insisted that he wore their clan's formal garb, even if it would be discarded soon enough, once lessons began. That had costed him quite a bit of time to get into, and as such he was in a huge rush to get to the academy. Kyokuso frowned as he neared the classroom. He was in such a rush in fact, that he had taken the wrong puppet with him. Hopefully today would not require too much effort on that end - this puppet was a prototype, that did not carry any augments. Well, for an academy lesson, for academy students, it should suffice.

Kyokuso peered through the door of the classroom as he finally arrived, with a minute or two to spare. He noticed that there were three others already inside, his gaze immediately drawn towards a person clearly older than everyone else. If Kyokuso had to guess, he'd say that the person was maybe in their late teens, or early twenties? Old enough to be their teacher, that's for sure.

The other two were definitely academy students. One was a young girl, maybe about ten or eleven by his guess. She was almost as tall as he was, but her features suggested that she was just unnaturally tall. What intrigued Kyokuso, was the girl's fox-like features. Fluffy ears, and a fluffy tail to boot. He has heard of the clan before - hell, he have read up on them, and of course has seen them around. Those traits were that of the Aikayume, a clan told to consist of direct descendants of natural spirits that inhabited this world. Apparently, as they grew more powerful, their tail would split. Judging by the one tail then, the girl still had a way's to go.

The last of the people here was another boy, probably around the same age as the girl. He looked somewhat irritated, though Kyokuso was not sure if something had just occurred, or if that was the boy's natural look. Gosh, there is so much diversity with people of this world. Take something as simple as hair color - both this guy and the girl had white hair, though the girl's white was verging more on grey. The bigger guy had black hair. As for Kyokuso? Blond. Very blond.

Kyokuso stopped and bowed down slightly as he entered the classroom, showing of his politeness. "Good morning." Kyokuso spoke aloud as he returned to an upright position.

Temporarily ignoring the girl sitting in the front row, and the boy sitting in the back row, Kyokuso approached the older person. "Excuse me... are you our teacher, today?" Kyokuso asked. To be frank, if he had mistaken this guy for their teacher, it wouldn't be too much of a surprise. This was, in fact, Kyokuso's first day at the academy. Basically ever, really, given his real first time doesn't really count. On top of that, Kyokuso was about 30cm or so shorter than Sanada, so it was just quite natural that someone that much taller, and larger, simply did not register for Kyokuso as a potential classmate.

It was a quarter till eight in the morning when Hakuren enters the academy building. Being so early in the morning the place was dead quiet. Not a single person was out sharpening their skills in the training grounds. To say there were not a soul would of course be an exaggeration for Hakuren had a few animals, to which she refers to as friends, that like to hang around the academy building. A white cat even greets her at the door and her own black cat responds in kind.

Once inside she walks up the stairs to a classroom on the second floor. Tomorrow was going to be a big day for her and she was a little nervous. She has never taught a class before, but when she was asked to do so she agreed. Today she was practicing her public speaking in front of an empty classroom, which is why she came so early. She has her cat sit in different seats to judge the acoustics of the room: to see how loud should she be to be heard in the back, but not feel like she was shouting to the people in the front.

She practices her speech several times. Some with standing in front of the class by the chalkboard, a few sitting at the teacher's desk and others walking up and down the isles of desks. She would judge which method was more effective and/or comfortable. During this practice session the second hand continues its race around the clock and minutes go by.

Her cat was sitting at a window seat when it spotted a student coming to the academy building. Hakuren found it a little odd as it was still quite early. Though now that she thinks about it she does recall there was scheduled a class in the early morning in the room just below. Hakuren could not remember who was the teacher assigned to the room, but she did recall it being open to all. She has been hard at work for quite some time now. Perhaps a little break would not be to much of a bad idea.

Taking a seat at the teacher’s desk she has her cat go to the classroom. One of the first skills a Yamanaka learns is the ability to communicate with others telepathically by sharing thoughts. Not limited to words, the Yamanaka may communicate through sharing pictures, memories, and even learn to share sensory input between themselves and others. Hakuren uses this ability on a daily basis to mitigate her blindness by linking to her pets and have them stream live sensory input into her. Though Hakuren does more than just see through her pets; she hears, tastes and feels through them as well. With the cat she will in spirit be joining the class.

Entering the opened door to the classroom, the cat would then walk over and leap onto a desk next to a window. Lay of the flat surface heated by the sun the cat would bath in the morning rays while waiting for the class to finally start.

Ren walked into the class. It wasn't as if she wanted to be here. She was apprehended by an adult and had walked her out of the Grand Palais and into this academy. She had managed to make a spear, just a big enough stick that was sharpened at the very end of it.

She hated not having her weapon. The weapon that called out to her that night. The spirit inside that understood how she felt. As she entered, she had seen the cat boy from the other day, along with the mystery woman who was also there. There were two others, but Ren decided to walk and sit in the seat furthest away from everyone.

She was in her own thoughts, thinking of how to get the sword that she was destined to have back from her parents house.

From within her significant other's room, the beautiful white-haired woman who would be having the honor of tutoring today sat ever so patiently awaiting for the time to come. This tutoring session, that had been kept vague in the details, had been posted throughout the Academy for the past week allowing the young, bright minds of the future plenty of time to plan accordingly. Hopefully, many people had taken the opportunity to better themselves at this ungodly hour even if they believed they knew everything since nobody was perfect nor knew every single thing about this strange world that they all lived in; sure, they could believe that they did but rest assured they would be absolutely wrong to assume that. Nevertheless, the time had ticked down significantly in such a quick time and it was time to begin this tutoring session as she rose from her seat cracking a smirk on her face as she left the tiny little office of her love and headed down the hallway to the classroom.

It would not take long at all for her to enter the room and see that five bright minds of the future and a feline had decided to make their way in the wee early hours of the day to see what they could learn from a prestigious member of one of the most well-known clans in all of Wind Country. She would not say a single thing upon entering and simply walk to the front of the classroom and position herself on top of the desk with her legs crossed in front of her. Today, this head of the Byakko Clan had chosen to dress down as she was wearing a cute little black top that showed a little bit of her shoulders and matching straight pants. It was certainly not something that one would expect someone of high important in their clan to be wearing, but she did not care as she did what she wanted when she wanted.

After she was officially ready to prepare to tutor these young people and this cat, she would tap on the desk and tilt her head slightly as she began to speak. "Let's begin with introductions. I am Byakko Yanshi Shouken otherwise known as Lady Yanshi in the village and I am the head of the Byakko Clan and married to one of the medical chiefs of the branch, Byakko Kyuji, who is away at the tournament in Tea to make our village proud right now" she would explain to them all as she gave a gentle, warm smile to them all before leaning back on the desk looking at each one of the them individually awaiting their introductions. Aside from the oddity of Chiyoko that decided to grace her with her presence, Lady Yanshi had no idea who anyone else was in this room nor if any of them would ever be prepared to be shinobi of their village. See, she wanted to believe each one of them would successfully graduate and do something meaningful in their lives, but she also knew that the Academy had been rougher as of late when Kyuji had been running classes and examinations as he didn't like to give anyone an easy time of things especially when they were young or they would grow up to be weak and vulnerable or rebellious and try to kill someone numerous times.
OOC:
  • Apologies for the wait!
  • I was not expecting this big of a turnout which is not a bad thing. It truly excites me!!!
  • Due to this big of a group, there will be no posting order, but please do not post more than once between my posts.
  • Let's all try to have our next posts up by July 29th at 1 AM forum time. I am willing to be flexible however.

Quite a lot of people joins for such an early class, which only makes Hakuren worry even more about here own lesson. If so many student are will to wake up this early for class, how many would come to a normal timed one? It was nice to see so many youths interested in learning, but she is unsure if she would be able to teach in front of such a large crowd for her class tomorrow. As the teacher walks in Hakuren would finally remember that is was Yanshi that was scheduled to teach a class this early in the morning.

Unfortunately the instructor asks for introductions instead of going straight to the lesson as she had hoped. True it is highly likely Hakuren could easily get away with not participating as it was a cat. However she decides to play along because she was getting the distinct feeling this was not going to be a lecture based lesson and thus participation would be required for proper learning. The cat would not be able to participate as it is right now; with only the sensory link aiding it, it still can’t do jutsu. Hakuren would have to possess the cat with a mind transfer jutsu, but she does so in an unusual fashion. Most possessions are like adding oil to water; suppressing the original inhabitants and taking dominance, however this time she did not take full control when possessing her pet. Instead of suppressing the animal's consciousness, Hakuren sacrifices dominance and settles for a balanced control by merging her soul with the creature’s soul.

The cat moves his arms around in an almost shinobi like fashion. It looked a little like he was performing hand seals, though with paws the motions did have a slightly different look. He was now an ordinary human except with cat ears, yellow slitted eyes and a tail. He was dress like that of a butler and he sat with his legs crossed on the desk, “Greetings, My name is Goku. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.”

So Ren had decided to show up as well. That was great! Kyo had been worried that she would not have bothered. Now on to actual proper introductions - by the actual teacher. When Lady Yanshi had walked into the room and introduced herself, Kyo's attention had shifted to her, attention that soon transformed into awe. She was the head of a clan, and yet she dressed so... casually. And yet, again, she commanded such a presence, one that he assumed could only come from someone with grace and stature. No wonder the Byakko clan was so well-regarded in this village.

The first amongst those already present to actually speak, after Lady Yanshi's introduction, was a cat. Kyo's attention turned towards it as it introduced itself as Goku - something that Kyo just could not help but smile in response to. Goku was cousin Hakuren's cat, and the fact that it was now in human form meant that cousin Hakuren was also somewhere nearby. Interesting... why not show up yourself, cousin?

He supposed she had other things to worry about.

Quickly, his attention turned towards Sanada as he apologized for his mistake in mis-recognizing who the teacher was, before turning back to Lady Yanshi. "Good morning, I am Kyokusō of the Taisen clan, Kyo for short. It is an honor to be able to learn under your guidance. I hope you will find my performance satisfactory." With that, he gave her a polite bow, before moving towards the tables at the front. He noticed that Ren had taken a seat all the way towards the back near Nobu. Funny how the students only took seat either all the way at the front, or all the way at the back - no in between.

Sitting somewhere near him was Chiyoko. He wondered if she had some sort of close relation to Lady Yanshi. Kyo loosened the straps to his shrouded weapon and placed it gently against the side of his desk. He shifted his kimono around a bit to make it easier to move, before having a seat at his table. He rested his elbows upon the table, and patiently waited for the class to actually begin.

Chiyoko watched a steady stream of students begin to fill the classroom. Well to be specific she was half awake and only gained brief details of their appearances. Other than that Chiyoko was trying to maintain a face of alertness. The morning temperature was just right for a long, comfy nap. The very thought of a nap makes her head heavy, and with a thug hits the table. Chiyoko is startled, and realizes that quite a few people have already taken up seats, none of them which she recognizes.

At least till the tutor decided to stroll in. Chiyoko's eyes went wide and she almost fell off her seat. The head of the Byakko Clan, Lady Yanshi. Chiyoko had a high regard for the woman, even more so on a personal level due to their common blood. Chiyoko quickly tried to make herself look as awake as possible, sitting up straight and trying to give Lady Yanshi a better second impression. And seeing how the mysterious cat became a person and introduced himself as well as Kyokuso, who had taken a seat closer to the front now. Chiyoko decided to be next in terms of greetings. While she deemed it unnecessary to Lady Yanshi due to their previous encounter, the others in the room would appreciate the introduction.

Chiyoko brushed her hair aside a bit, her fox ears flicking and twitching. Taking a deep breath as she stood up she bowed towards Yanshi without a word before turning to face the rest of the room, trying to keep herself calm.
"My name is Chiyoko, Aikayume Byakko Chiyoko," Chiyoko bowed respectfully. Tugging her sleeves, Chiyoko would then take a seat again, and pull her hood over her face and ears. Now it was rather clear to the others in the room to why Chiyoko had fox ears and a tail, but had the stripes and coloration of the Byakko, she was rather both at once, for reasons currently unknown.

"Aw crap!" Natsume cursed out loud as she raced headlong toward the academy building at top speed with her bokken in hand, her fox ears lowered and her tail straight as if that would give her some form of aerodynamic advantage. "How could I oversleep on the day of the super special secret academy class?! Whoever's teaching it will never let me in now!"

She hit the front doors with a noisy clatter, barely stopping to open them properly before she was in and still going like a rocket down the hall. It was at the first open door she encountered that she leapt inside, truly making a scene with her confident bound straight through the doorway to encounter the eyes of her peers and sensei. Her ears immediately stood proud once again as her singular tail flicked and fluffed about. She was the very picture of one who believed she could do anything if she just put her mind to it.

"I, Aikayume Natsume, have come to this classroom to rock this lesson and leave everyone astounded at my talent! To deny me entry just for being a few minutes late would truly be a loss for you, sensei, and all those attending who will lose out on witnessing absolute perfection! "Now- ...!"

Natsume finally opened her eyes with great conviction and pointed forward... at an empty classroom aside from a wandering cat, which meowed at her disapprovingly as it departed between her ankles to do whatever cats do all day.

"Whaaa-?!" the young kitsune exclaimed, looking shocked and distraught at the realization that she'd just shouted her most confident speech into an ether of nothingness. With a quick stomp of her foot, she turned around to look back out of the open door to realize that it was the exact next door over where she was actually meant to be. She hung her head with a sigh of dejection before running out of the room she was currently in to curve around and head straight into the classroom where people were actually attending.

"I, Aikayume Natsume, have co-uhwhaoh!" She took the curve from one class into the next a little too tightly as she tripped over her own feet, stumbled forward clumsily and fell. Not even deemed good enough for a dignified and graceful tumble she could easily recover from, whatever divine presence was writing her fate this day saw it fit that she should stumble just far enough forward that as she fell her face plastered itself into the side of the teacher's desk, letting out a horrible, persistent squeaking sound as she slid all the way down the surface and to the floor.

It didn't take long for Natsume to begin recovering, rolling over onto her back and holding her nose painfully as she winced and voiced her pain in as controlled a manner as she could manage. Her entire face was red, probably from the contact with the desk's surface more than embarrassment.

"Tchtchtch!!! Where did that desk come from?!" She exclaimed wildly. "I think my nose is bleeding!" Even aside from her newly battered visage, Natsume looked a mess. It was obvious that she'd woken up and rushed straight to the classroom judging by the fact that she had one half of a twin-tail hair style done in her hair, her long sleeved shirt was obviously on backward and her shorts were wrinkled, probably worn the previous day and grabbed straight from her floor to speed up the process of getting ready to leave.

Nobu was about to start making his seals as more people entered the classroom. The first was a boy, a little older than Nobu himself, who proceeded to bow politely and introduce himself. Nobu just grunted a wordless greeting in return. Politeness was all well and good, but Nobu's thoughts were elsewhere. He had no real time to bother too much with niceties when the teacher still hadn't showed up. They were the ones who'd set the hour. In retrospect, it had been stupid to overthink things so soon.

The boy bowing to the adult guy prompted a raised eyebrow from Nobu. If the guy was the teacher, wouldn't he have said something about it, or taken place behind the teacher's desk or something instead of... well, not doing that. Nobu didn't even notice the cat or the next student entering due to the distraction. Nobu figured that anyone other than the teacher walking through that door wouldn't be interesting enough for him to bother anyway.

And indeed, the person who walked in when Nobu pulled his attention away from the strange duo was an adult woman with odd feline features. Nobu had learned about the Byakko and the other clans during history classes, of course, though he never paid much attention to bloodlines he considered less relevant than his own (which was all of them). Part of him had expected the ears and tail to be decoration, but those looked very real. When the woman spoke, Nobu just cocked his head a bit. Right, Byakko Kyuji. That was a name he'd heard more often. The reference to Tea country kind of went over the boy's head, as he didn't care much for tournaments and contests not involving him.

The sudden transformation of the cat into a human being was a little surprising, though Nobu didn't do much more than wince a bit. Transformation jutsus weren't too uncommon, after all. Time for student introductions, huh? Goku, Kyokuso, Chiyoko... If it hadn't been for the third student's odd appearance Nobu would've been dozing off at that point.

Nobu was about to introduce himself when a latecomer ran in, before immediately tripping and smashing their face into the teacher's desk. The squeaking as the girl slid downwards was accompanied by Nobu's laughter. Schadenfreude wasn't a stranger to the white-haired boy. "Well teach," he piped up, "I'm Domen Nobu. If you don't want a trainwreck like that, keep your eyes on me. I'm going to leave all these punks in the dust." There was a cocky grin on the boy's face as he pointed both thumbs at himself.

Leaning back on the desk that she sat on, the tutor for these lucky souls today would nod at each of them as they introduced themselves. Each one of these brave children seemed to be keeping their introductions to the minimum and some of them had chosen to not say anything at all which was not necessarily a bad thing in the grand scheme of things. However, it did not set off a good first impression for the one that would be guiding them on the lesson today; it also did not make one look good to be late to class and then embarrass themselves in the process. If there was one thing that Lady Yanshi of the well-known Byakko Clan could say about this group of misfits, it was that they were definitely different and had their own unique personalities. Unfortunately being different did not determine if one graduated from the Academy or excelled in their classes while they were attending.

Nevertheless, she was thankful that many people had decided to show up in the early hours of the morning considering the turnout exceeded her expectations. At the most, she was expecting one or two individuals to decide to roll out of their beds, get dressed, and allow her to guide them into becoming better shinobi than they already were or were going to become. But, seven people was simply amazing and it had to be one of the biggest showings in recent times since there had been rumors of parents deciding against their children going to the Academy or children simply pursuing other careers due to a multitude of factors with most of them going right back to the big threat of the country, the Daimyo. Only time would truly tell if these bright-eyed, eager individuals would answer the call that the village would eventually give to them or if they would collapse under the pressure and retire at an early age.

As for now, the past and the future truly did not matter as the current moment was the ideal and for these individuals who showed up so early, they were going to get their money's worth or at least Lady Yanshi would hope so. Leaning still on the desk in front of them, the head of the Byakko Clan would glance at each and every single one of them without saying a word. She was surveying everyone ever so carefully and formulating a reasonable game plan to accommodate all of them regardless of their strength, weaknesses, and tenure as shinobi. As she did, a hand would go to her head to scratch the top of it before nodding to herself and sitting upright on the desk. It was time to begin the tutoring for the day as she began: "I am honored that each and every one of you decided to show up this early for my tutoring session. However, I must ask why you decided to show up this early when there were plenty of opportunities at later points in the day that you could attend. What made my time slot so interesting to you? Was it the mystery surrounding it, the suspense, or are we all just a little mad here?"

It was after she finished these thoughts that she would jump off the desk with her golden irises glowing ever so beautifully in the morning sunlight as she looked around. There were seven of them and all of them likely came for a different reason than the others had, but they would all have to come together to obtain the single goal that they likely all sought out which was knowledge as the old saying went "knowledge is power." They would all however have plenty of opportunities to obtain their own personal goals in the process, but it was not going to be easy if the beautiful, elegant head of the Byakko Clan had anything to say about it and she did since she was tutoring since her husband, wife, significant other was away in Tea Country trying to make the village and their clan proud. She had no doubt in her mind that her love was easily doing that as long as that wrenched fox was not interfering.

Goku and Hakuren then listen to everyone else’s introduction, though it seems not everyone in the classroom was willing to give up such information. Hakuren could not exactly blame them as she has kept her presence a secret thus far. The first kid to greet the class was a familiar one; it was the son of her mother’s brother. She did not recognize any of the others except for the last one to yield his name to the class. Being naturally blind she is quite good at picking out a voice. Hakuren recalls bathing with this person. She may have a word with this one after the class was over.

To a true shinobi, literally anything can be used as a weapon. Kyokuso was not the only puppeteer within the Taisen family. There are those who have said that Hakuren was quite the puppeteer, however she doesn’t use something as crude as marionettes of clay or wood. Hakuren uses living puppets, animals, with her sensory link as the strings. Kyokuso knows the basis of puppetry; perhaps one day Hakuren would go ahead an teach him her style of puppetry. She was curious just how far the boy may be able to take it or will he simply stick to his lifeless dolls.

Hakuren suppresses Goku’s consciousness for the next part. “As Goku’s owner and one currently possessing him. I can say he was sent here under my orders. Goku knows more than you might believe possible, but I believe there is more for him to learn. As for me I have other things I must get back to, so I will leave Goku in your capable hands.” With that Hakuren’s soul leaves her feline friend and returns to her own body. Goku naturally reverts back to his cat-like state.

Goku then jumps off the desk he was laying on, rushes towards the teacher and leaps onto the teacher’s desk. Goku would extend a paw to touch the late arrival on the nose and cast a healing jutsu. If he was unhindered, Natsume would find her nose no longer bleeding.

As she stood up front, she awaited the response from the bright-minded individuals that would eventually lead the village in the future hopefully. There were many faces that had the opportunity to chime in and speak what was on their mind and why they decided to show up this early, but the feline in the room was the only creature that would choose to speak of them all. Normally, a talking feline would surprise many people in the village and in the world, but being the head of the Byakko Clan who worshiped Lord Byakko who spoke just like them, it was not that much of a surprise. When the creature spoke, Lady Yanshi would look at him and nod to understand exactly what was going on which was the feline had been possessed in some way likely by a Yamanaka, but she could not be quite sure as there were other ways of possession obviously. It need not matter to her though so long as the feline did not disrupt the class which he had not done yet and actually was assisting the poor girl who banged herself up when she entered. He was a good kitty.

As for the other individuals in the room, she could not say that she was quite pleased with their participation thus far in their session. But, she also could understand that they were likely nervous and were a little anxious since they stumbled into this classroom and there were many others that had done the same thing. Hopefully, they would get a little bit more lively or this session was going to be quite boring for them all as she would just have to babble on and on and on. In all honesty, she wanted discussion and interactions among them as they would have to grow together, fight together, and protect their village together so it was better for them to do it at a young age than to put it off.

Thus, she would kindly and calmly speak to them all once more and hope for the results to change a little before she proceeded. "Would anyone else like to chime in before we continue? I much rather you all speak so we can have a productive and enjoyable session together than to listen to me talk and talk up here. It is ultimately up to you all, but I am given you all another chance to speak. Take your time as I know you all are likely a little anxious and nervous to be in the Academy at such an early point in the day and are not quite sure what to expect still."

Natsume was still rolling about in pain and making a small ruckus in her immediate vicinity and so she wouldn't be privy to the not-so-subtle jab in her direction. She'd also, unfortunately, miss out on the directions of what was currently being asked of the class. The first thing that actually registered in her mind was the sudden tap of a cat's paw and she was suddenly feeling much less in agony!

"Hey, thanks, Mr. Cat!" she vocalized her appreciation with a bit less volume than she'd been carrying on with previously as she sat up straight and wiped the blood from her upper lip with the back of her hand. "That feels a lot better al-!" And she paused with a blank stare and a slow blink at the realization that a cat had just cast a healing jutsu on her nose, staring at the feline with an expression that quickly began to border on incredibly confused and quizical.

She was dead silent for a long moment before finally shaking her head and breaking out of her stupification. She was quick to jump back onto her feet, taking a moment to look down at the state of herself with a gasp before allowing herself a moment to pull her arms in from her sleeves to spin the shirt about to face the right way and smooth out her pants. Her hair would continue to be an unfortunate casualty of her rushed arrival, still with one half tied into the first half of a twin tailed pair.

She looked about, noting a largely silent class, and scratched one of the ears poking from atop her head with a sheepish grin. She just kind of stayed where she was beside the teacher's desk as she spoke up to break the silence.

"So uh... what's the assignment, Teach?" she inquired, speaking directly to the woman at the teacher's desk who looked rather casual for being the one teaching the lesson. It had to be her though, right? ...She was at the desk, after all.

At first, Nobu figured there was little for him to add. He'd probably be better off showing his skills to the instructor than running his mouth more. He'd driven the point home well enough anyway. If anyone wanted to disprove his claim to power, they were welcome to prove it later. After his education and maybe a few missions as a Genin, maybe. With his Genin exam coming up, getting smacked around by someone with more time and experience in the field than him wasn't going to be particularly productive.

"Why I'm here...?" Nobu repeated quietly when the teacher asked for the reason he was there. Frankly, he hadn't put too much thought into that. His impulse control had always been... minimal at best. It just looked interesting, which was enough reason for Nobu to come in for a look. After the cat-man spoke with a slightly different tone of voice, mentioning being possessed, Nobu figured she probably had some kind of weird bloodline ability, as he'd never heard of a regular jutsu doing that.

Nobu observed the interaction between Natsume and the cat for a bit, before rolling right over the girl's question with his own reason for being present. With a shrug, he sat upright and looked back at Lady Yanshi. "If a class provided by one of the big clans in town gets offered, I'm not going to miss out. People can think what they want about the clans," Nobu spoke as if his opinion of the actual great clans was nothing to write home about, "but you guys sure know what you're doing."

During this time it was the other student’s turn to speak up since Goku and Hakuren has already did so previously. Because Hakuren left Goku’s body and that he is no longer in human form, Goku is incapable of speech. Though there are animals capable of talking like those of a contract, Hakuren has yet to teach a beast how to talk. Goku does not truly understand the human tongue; it is just to complex for him. However with Hakuren’s sensory link, Hakuren has a telepathic connection with him and acts as a sort of translator. Of coarse Hakuren does not translate in the normal sense: she is not converting the human language to bestial tongue. Instead Hakuren is able to project images into the animals mind thus allowing the animal to see the imagery a sentence would natural invoke.

After healing the young shinobi and seeing that the lesson has yet to really start, Goku returns to the desk from witch he came from. The morning was still early and he could feel the rays of the sun beat down on his fur. Goku enjoys the heat of the sun in a air-conditioned room such as this. While humans find it comfortable, he finds it a little on the cool side.

As Lady Yanshi stood there, she would give a small smile as another individual in the classroom would speak and explain to her and everyone else exactly why he was here. While his comments were nice to her ears and her significant other would have enjoyed to hear them as well, they could be seen as brown-nosing or trying to get some form of brownie points to make his life easier today. Unfortunately for him, that was not going to happen, but it was a good effort on his part since other individuals in this village that also shared animal traits like the Byakko Clan may have taken the bait and allowed the praising to get to their heads and inflate their egos even more. Alas, he at least caught her interest and he would have to be someone to watch out for moving forward.

In any case, the "rowdy" bunch had waited long enough and it was time to officially start their tutoring session for the day so they could all roll back to bed as soon as they were done and catch up on their sleep as it appeared many of them were not entirely awake right now. Regardless, she would cross her arms in front of her and proceed to address them directly and sternly almost like her words were like ice as they left her lips: "Again, I welcome you all to this tutoring session and I hope you find it to be productive. Let me begin the session by telling you that becoming a shinobi in this world is not an easy escape from the harsh realities that everyone faces on a daily basis in our country. We are continually handling trouble in the Red Light District of the village where corruption is running wild and is getting completely out of control. While handling our business there, we also have to keep an eye on our backs because we have individuals in our village who are sympathizers of the individuals who had attacked our village in recent times and our Daimyo does not particularly enjoy us in 'his' country" She would do the air quotes as she said his and proceed to look at each one of them in the room as she finished her initial comments.

In all honesty, she was looking for any kind of reaction from them which is why she paused momentarily. She would continue moments later: "Knowing all of this is waiting for you when you graduate from the Academy, why do you want to be shinobi of this village and put your lives on the line? Do you have a death wish? Are you crazy? Or is there something deeper inside of you? That is what we are going to explore today in our tutor session. I hope you are all prepared because we are going to get to the bottom of this question for each and every one of you who cares to chime in."

Yes, it was time to see what these bright minds truly brought to the table which was the future of their village and the world. Hopefully, they had come prepared like Lady Yanshi had done even though, she did not dress to fit the occasion properly in the minds of some of them probably. Oh well, she was the tutor and she could do what she wanted and she knew this. The important thing was they learned about themselves and weren't afraid to explore it.
