Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Asuka stood in front of the local flower shop, looking around the different types that were available. "So what does this one mean again?" She got her answer which unfortunately wasn't what she was looking for exactly. It had already passed some time since the events took place and in all honesty she didn't exactly know what to do but what she was doing now, or rather what she had been doing for every week since... it... happened.

Asuka looked at the options, the store clerk telling her where it came from, what it meant. But nothing really satisfied her, or rather she couldn't really say it felt right so she kept looking. It was about 10 minutes until one yellow flower caught her eye. It stood on the far right, in front of a black blackground. Shining through the others like it's own light source. Ironic isn't it.

"I'll take 6 of this pretty flower." She spoke pointing out the one she hd eyed before hand. After giving the store clerk the Yen she teleported, probably causing some confusion to the store clerk but anyway it did what it was intended.

Asuka reappeared right in front of her destination, the entrance to the memorial stone. Where the names of fallen heroes were incarved in. With a sigh she started walking forward, Daffodil's in hand.

Time had for a while began to sequence and run together like the reel of a movie, as he stood to the right of the stone. There was a degree of calm and serenity that was cast where the stone had been placed, with a natural peace created by the surrounding ambiance. Being one of the few times of the day where he personally was not busy working an overload shift, it was interesting that he chose this place to be where he would wind down. Each name carved into the stone's surface resonated with him, each with a story and each having relinquished the most precious gift bestowed to a being all at the defense or pursuit of the village's ideals and protection. Though somber in his thoughts, the sunken eyes he held did at times reveal some emotional cues. It was at the disturbance of some grass and the sound of steps did he realize he was no longer alone, glancing over his shoulder to see the young woman walking forwards.

"Paying respects as well?"<i></i>, asked Hotoke. Mentally he was well aware of the fact that he had just asked the young lady a stereotypical question when the answer was obvious. However so to did he not want to say the wrong thing so it was overall best to go with a neutral conversation starter if not just a simple social exchange. Truly his second but important concern was how she would react to his appearance, not wanting to be a source of discomfort or fear in a place where it should not have been. Momentarily shifting his gaze towards the stone, he thought how many of those names would not have been there if....

A subtle head shake would distance that fleeting thought as his attention returned to the girl's presence wondering what he reaction and response would be...

Asuka stopped as she looked at the man standing to the right of the stone. Huh... she's never met this man before and his appearence was... chilling to say the least. Either he was one crazy nutjob, or he had gone around been around. His face either talked "stories" or "Stay away." She would certainly be on guard around this individual.

She shrugged at his question, in reality she didn't really know the exact reason she was here but now it was too late to turn back. "In a sense..." She answered without looking at his dirrection. Asuka walked over to the stone and slowly laid down the flowers in front of it, clapping her hands together for a quick prayer. To be honest she didn't want to or need to ask the man why was he here, she could think of a few reasons why. Besides, the everyday question on a graveyard was kind of stupid so she didn't really want to keep her expectations high.

He watched the young woman place the flowers at the stone's base and perform a simple prayer for the souls who's names were the reason the monument was here in the first place. There was no sadness here, not today at the least as there was no mourning a recently deceased friend or fellow comrade. This atmosphere provided by both himself and the ladies current demeanor only engulfed him with a sense of reflection. Their lives were indeed fleeting, being capable of coming to an end at any moment and time, yet for shinobi those times are chosen. Chosen in their decisions, chosen in their leadership and chosen by their own lack of or honed abilities. For him though the monument was a reminder of something far more near and dear to his heart...

"Do you not find it ironic in a sense, that this one monument celebrates the life and death of those who would give their all. It's a simple but humble gesture for those passed on souls, nestled within a space that only stands because they protected it as shinobi and citizens alike do now.

The final statement in his phrase was something that would touch multiple reasons from the current engagement with Frost, to the steady and constant missions the village's shinobi still participated in. He stood here, overlooking a monument at a time where with the current events there would undoubtedly be several new names etched in the stone's surface. His heart felt heavy at the this thought and this thought alone, as a medic he wondered how many of those names seen now would not be there if sufficient medical aid had been available to them. Shaking his head slightly the thought would be momentarily pushed to the back of his mind.

"I do apologize for my rudeness earlier, my name is Hotoke. I am a medical ninja..."

He would give Asuka a smile, his attempt to seem cheerful to her if she could look past his appearance. There was something about the look his eyes gave as despite his scars and dark look, his gaze was filled with compassion and hope.

His words were ironic, the irony in the statement was not. She flicked her hair behind her ear and simply sighed. She had to think about his words for a few seconds, trying to find the rights words to respond to. Some things went through her mind, some more pleasent than others but nothing really mattered. In the end, the result was the same.

"Humble gesture or not." She simply said, not lo looking at the man. "In the end, they're dead. No point in thinking too much about it."

Her thoughts were simply a gesture to how little she cared about the names engraved here, yes they died in the line of duty. But that was what they were supposed to do. Their duty, to life and die as Shinobi. Honoring them as if they made a difference was nothing less than idiotic, but her point of view wasn't exactly shared with most so she didn't say it out loud.

"Asuka." She answered him, introducing herself. "Head Jounin of the Main Branch."
