Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The teenager felt like nothing could take him down right now yet there sat in his stomach a most nervous bug.

It was nearing midnight in the village of Sunagakure. The Crystal District’s nightlife was starting to get into what was known as the “Heat” of their night. Loud music thumped a loud bass into the streets that could be felt underneath the feet of patrons as shinobi DJ artist used a unique form of music and ninjutsu to produce electronic sounds that seemed almost alien the first time a person heard them. A whole block of the district was dedicated to these high-end party clubs and crowds of people waited outside in lines to get in.
About two blocks down the road away from the clubs was the late-night high end restaurants that businessmen and well-to-do socialites of the night conducted transactions and pitched woo at their choice of partner. Every once in a while though an actual couple would dine here purely for the reason of having a date they “splurged” on.

Michino and Chiyoko were on one such date. For the Toraono it seemed like years ago now since his elder brother revealed the emotionally crippling news that he wasn’t his father. The truth was it had been only a few short months since the incident at the Takashashi household but in that time between the young man had felt like he had finally found his niche in life.
Burning with anger at his brother named Tama the teenager went into the seedy parts of town he used to avoid on purpose to start boxing in the Underground Circuit. By sheer accident he found himself entered into the yearly tournament that was held during the end of the Winter Season. He rose up through the ranks like a virus, taking out one opponent after the other, and now he was set up to take the title of ‘Champion’ in the next few weeks. The other incredibly fortunate thing to happen to him was to have stumbled across someone he never thought to speak to again - Uzumoreru Chiyoko. It had been a month since they started seeing each other in secret but with Michino’s sudden Underground fame the two stopped being as secretive about it. With his notarial talent being high up enough now to be noticed by ANBU there was no way the girl’s father could directly touch either of them without getting a retaliation that they could both clearly see now.

For the large youth it was like a breath of fresh air. He hadn’t seen much of his deranged half-sibling since his birthday and still had no clue as to who his real father was. Even though Tama probably did, for the first time ever, the guy didn’t care. His hands were stretched out on the silk white cloth of the table and holding onto the smaller female’s as he gazed deeply into her golden colored irises. Unlike they're usual dives tonight they were both dressed up for the high-end establishment. Michino had even gone through the lengths to be measured and custom tailored a three-piece plum colored suit with a black tie. Even his feet, which for nearly his entire life had been bare, were covered in socks and dress shoes to match the dining establishment's strict attire rules. Almost ironically on his right ring finger was the gift Tama had given him on his birthday, for it really was a beautiful piece of jewelry.
Tonight was a special night for them both because it was going to be the night that he decided to quit boxing, go back into full on shinobi work, and get his life fully sorted out. In order to start this task of life changing he needed to finish his last match, and in order to do that he needed to get some guilt off his his shoulders.

For the last few months since the blow-out of Tama’s revelation he hadn’t made any motion to contact Sousuke or his family. The emotional wounds, even now, were a little painful and he was quite worried about how the ex-Steward would feel about his little fighting hobby. The teenager was well aware of his mentor’s dislike for the Underground fighting rings and how much he had worked into getting rid of the tournament all together due to the amount of rookie deaths each year. This past year saw a couple but since Toushin took over the death rates dropped dramatically and seemed to focus more on the skill of each opponent once again. Yet still Michino wasn’t sure how the man who had done so much already to give him a better life to see him attempt such seedy corners of their city.
A waiter moved towards their table at his own laid back pace. When he reached the couple’s table the man introduced himself and rattled off the special for the night but Michino only ordered a simple sparkling water with mint. His stomach was in knots at the moment getting ready to attempt and explain everything to the man he looked up to.

The last two weeks had passed in a whirlwind of euphoria unlike nothing the young Uzumoreru had experienced in years. Even Toushin, who was extremely unhappy about the teenagers' relationship, couldn't deny that his daughter's focus had improved in training since she had become entangled with the Toraono. Of course, he probably wouldn't be too happy with her end-game behind the newfound enthusiasm, especially since it included quitting the "family business." No, he certainly wouldn't react well to that announcement, but all thoughts of her father and his surliness were far from the teenager's mind tonight. Instead she focused on the way Michino's thumb stroked across the back of her knuckles as he held her hand, and the look in his eyes as he gazed at her across the table. It made it easy to forget that another guest would be joining them soon, and her ingrained unease toward any sort of authority figure.

As soon as Michino had shared his plans to take her out to dinner, the teenager made her own plans to go shopping. It didn't take much to give the teenager a reason to buy new clothes, even though her closet had started to overflow with her wardrobe and she had been forced to move some of her lesser-worn items into her father's home. This, being the first "fancy" date for the couple, was a special occasion and clearly deserved a new dress, shoes, and jewelry. As such, the Uzumoreru had spent most of the previous day in and out of all the boutiques in the Crown and had made it out with the perfect dress and accessories, though her purse was quite a bit lighter than it had been previously. The fruits of her labors were abundant however, and her fair skin seemed to glow in contrast with the soft gold satin, knee-length dress she wore. The shade matched her irises perfectly and the fabric hugged her body in all the right ways. Normally she would have worn heels with such a dress, but this time she had chosen a pair of lavender sandals with a short wedge heel, and had painted her toes to match. In her time with Michino, the petite young woman had realized she really liked being much shorter than he was. It was really adorable when he leaned down to kiss her and she was forced to raise on her toes to meet him halfway. For jewelry she had chosen an understated pair of stud earrings that consisted of lavender gemstones nestled in gold filigree that glittered in the dim light of the room. The choice was also somewhat out of the ordinary for her, as she generally wore more eclectic styles, but tonight was special.

A slightly annoyed expression flickered across her face as the waiter came over to describe the special and take their drink order, but she shoved her frustration back - the guy was just doing his job anyway. Half-listening to whatever the special was, Chiyo watched Michino's mouth move as he spoke and for a moment forgot that she needed to tell the waiter what she wanted to drink. "A glass of the house wine for me, please."

A loud pop would be heard in a separate corner of the restaurant that Chiyo and Michino were at. Followed by the pop there was a loud cheer, and laughter. Michino if he looked up he would see one of the two men at his birthday party. Nobu was the one with the bottle in hand and it looked mightily pleased. The bald headed man had a great big smile on his face as the bottle he was holding was champagne. The bubbling drink was overflowing as he began to pour it into man glasses. "So I asked him, where did you get the feather? He responded, I pluck a peacock. I said to him, well then are you not peacocking along then?"<i></i> Nobu's joke, or what seemed like a joke landed him claps and some hooting from the others. "I propose a toast then. Yes. To another successful year. Many new faces here tonight with our late party, but the good news is no work for some of us tomorrow. Mmm. Well I can name at least a few who will have to get up in the morning, but most of you know that he rarely sleeps anyways."<i></i> Nobu would rub his chest as he would begin handing out the drinks. "You've come a long way haven't you Sousuke m'boy? The first time I took you out for a financal year end meeting you got snockered. Fortunately there was that lovely lass to bring you home in your wheel chair. Hohoho. Yes. Hakumei? Yes, that was indeed her name. Foreign girl. Quite the lady that one, pity that bird flew away."<i></i>

In a way, what Michino feared most was present. Nobu's loud voice revealed that indeed the Steward was present. The giant lumbering man would turn his head to see Michino back on. The man's face faltered for a moment. When asked if something was wrong, the reply came swiftly that nothing was wrong at all. The giant would continue on with his party. The louder outburts would quiet down as an army of waiters came out with various platters of spiced meats. The giant man made a gesture of 'oh me? Oh it's nothing.'

At one of the sides of the table Sousuke sat drinking in the social event. He was dressed differently from his normal casual wear. He wore formal wear. It was something very different for the Steward. A new initiative since he was declared by the Kazekage to become one of the Four Winds. Pestilence. It was an odd thing really. The notion of being Pestilence was met with style and a certain neatness. Sousuke wasn't going to go for the thematic concept of filth and disease. In a way it was him being the opposite of the word, but perhaps he interpreted it as he was preventing pestilence itself. Names had meaning, but so did history. Pestilence was known to be the techie for the Four Winds. That part Sousuke took full heartedly. In the time after Michino's party, the Steward had been working on a number of projects. Secret ones, but he was steadily stockpiling and advancing his equipment.

The waiter wrote down Michino’s order and started to argue something about age and drinking when he lifted his eyes up from his little notepad to see who he was serving. Almost immediately he went pale and bowed to the couple offering an apology before admitting that he was a huge fan of the boxer. Without a second word he nearly ran back over towards the kitchen to go fetch the male his water and his lover the best wine the guy could find. Without waiting even two minutes the waiter was back and on top performance. A smile was adhered to his face, his clothes straightened out, and a platter containing the a glass of water, an empty wine glass, and a slightly dusty blue bottle of wine on it. He placed down Michino’s water and then with elegance placed down Chi-chi’s wine glass before removing the bottle of wine and tucking the tray under his arm.
“Blue Desert Rose, twenty years aged,” he spoke in a soft tone as not to catch the ear of any other business men who was being denied such splendor. With gusto he opened the bottle and began to pour a soft purple liquid that instantly filled their part of the restaurant with smells of fresh cut roses and juiced strawberries. It was a sweet red, though the word sweet was probably an insult to the wine as the flavor itself was said to be legendary in a bottle aged ten years; let alone twenty.

Before their waiter could even ask Michino had signed his autograph on a head shot and handed to the guy right as he turned to face him. The man, easily ten years older than the boxer, let out a squeal that would make a school girl look tame before darting back off towards the kitchen clutching his prize as if the picture had been made of gold.
It wasn’t something the teenager had been in the habit of doing, but it had earned him so much free stuff in exchange that he had started to take at least three with him when he went somewhere just in case. He couldn’t believe the irony of how much he argued against getting them in the first place when his manager - originally the bartender at his dive bar - insisted. Now he sat here as Chiyoko drank a bottle of wine that was supposed to be reserved for visiting nobility as it was only made when a special kind of desert rose was in season - once every five years or so; all for a picture.

The pop of a champagne bottle made the Toraono jump a little. His eyes followed through the restaurant to see off in the distance a man he recognized from his birthday party. Nobu was indeed looked to be every bit as successful and full of life as he had at his dinner party. It seemed he was to be celebrating something with…his eyes froze when they laid down on Sosuke. Before he could stop himself the teenager was swearing their mailing system and quickly took a few deep drinks of his beverage to try and calm his stomach. It was do or die now.

He held out his hand to Chi-chi and after she took it and stood up he nervously walked them both over to where the Steward sat. Sweat was starting to build up in his palm and his heart felt like it was going 120bpm. As he tried to speak he felt his mouth start to cotton up but he fought through it,
S-Sousuke! H-hey, I guess you didn’t get my invitation…um..so crazy meeting you here. This is my, ah…girlfriend, Uzu-” his dry tongue suddenly caught the roof of his mouth and he started coughing as what little spit he had managed to aspirate into his lungs.

Chiyo rolled her eyes at her own forgetfulness as the waiter started to deny her the wine she had asked for. She was so used to the bars she had frequented in the less expensive parts of the city that wouldn't bat an eye at her for ordering alcohol, but the people working here wouldn't recognize her of course. Shaking her head a little, she was about to just ask him to bring her a sparking water like Michino had requested when the man actually took a moment to look at them and changed his tune. Her golden eyes sparkled with amusement as she watched the waiter fanboy all over her date before hurrying off. Chuckling softly, she returned her attention to the boy sitting across from her. "As annoying as it is to have people bothering you for autographs all the damn time, the perks sure are nice."
Just as she finished speaking, the waiter returned and was filling the crystal glass he set before her with a flourish. Her eyes closed for a moment as the sweet scent of the violet liquid reached her nose and she actually sighed a little. The smell was so inviting she could hardly be bothered to notice as the boxer signed a photo in exchange for the special treatment. Wanting to savor the rare treat, she lifted the glass and, with a slight movement of her hand the nectar swirled around tendrils of fluid sticking to the sides of the glass like syrup. When she finally took a small sip, it was all she could do not to down the entire glass in one. In the last couple of years since she had started drinking, nothing she had tried could even compare, not even the expensive whiskey she kept sneaking from her father's office.

The next thing she was aware of was feeling Michino's eyes on her and when she lowered the glass to look at him, she saw he was holding his hand out to her expectantly. Instinctively placing her own hand into his, she was surprised to be pulled to her feet and she almost left her wine behind, but couldn't bring herself to leave it unattended - someone might take it. As he started to lead her across the restaurant, she started to ask where they were going - they hadn't even ordered their meals yet - when she followed his gaze to the a table on the other side of the room and the people seated there. Most of them were unfamiliar to her, but anyone living in Suna for an extended period of time would know the steward's face and a bubble of anxiety suddenly formed in her chest. Michino had told her he was going to meet them for dinner, so why the hell was he apparently celebrating something with a bunch of other people? Now they were about to interrupt whatever it was and suddenly they were standing right next to the man and...

Did he just introduce her as his girlfriend? The teenager's heart leapt in her chest, so excited she almost missed the fact that he was about to introduce her as an Uzumoreru as well. Her small hand squeezed his tightly in a pointless warning just as he choked and her name died in his mouth. There was a reason the girl never used her father's name outside of work. It tended to leave a certain impression on anyone who knew of the man, and there was no doubt the man before them would know of, if he hadn't crossed paths with, Uzumoreru Toushin. That certainly wasn't the sort of first impression she wanted to make on someone she knew was important to Michino. Mentally thanking whoever was watching over her tonight, she patted his back soothingly and stepped forward to find her voice. "My name is Chiyoko, but everyone calls me Chiyo. It's an honor to meet you, 'Chino's told me a lot about you - all good of course."

Perhaps to Michino's surprise, Sousuke looked like a new man. The Steward wore a three piece suit that was a pin stripped suit with a black shirt. On his left ear was a golden earring that seemed most natural. In addition he wore on his right hand two rings. The first ring sat on his index finger which was a simple silver band. The band that sat upon his ring finger denoted the symbol of the Journeymen and was encrusted with emeralds specks. In a way it was hard to believe that this was the man that the boy looked up to. It could have been that there was a twin Sousuke had, that the village did not speak of. It could also have been that the man before them was someone else wearing his skin. Several eyes were on Michino and Chiyo as the approached the grand table. The business men and women could smell the fear on Michino and it was if he was chum in the water for sharks. The only two not blatantly gawking at Michino were Lord Nobu and Sousuke.

The Steward let out a sigh as Michino spoke of an invitation. "One moment."<i></i> He turned back to the sharkish individuals at the table. "Back to your drinking and feasting. I'll still be here."<i></i> The Steward would receive a nod from Nobu who took control over the party once again. The Steward ran his index and middle fingers into his upper temple of his head. "No. Seemingly I did not get your invitation."<i></i> There was the hint of irritation in his voice. "I'm sure Nobu wouldn't mind your table being moved over here."<i></i> Within seconds the table was brought over. The Steward would make a seating adjustment to have him sit at the end of the table now with Chiyo and Michino should they decide to take up the offer. "I suspect ... tomorrow in the mailbox at the office I will find your invitation."<i></i> He leaned forward putting his forearm on the table. His eyes shifted over to Nobu who continued entertaining the crowd, making sure there was no eavesdropping. "Girlfriend. Yes. ... usually the practice is to insist this is a girl that is a friend, but no in this particular case."<i></i> Sousuke would acknowledge. He would pause for a moment. "Uzumoreru Chiyoko. I'm not sure who has seen more of the other. Your father or myself."<i></i> It wasn't hard for Sousuke to put the name together. Elementary really, since he had a mental stock of all the family names in Sungakure. "You share my mother's name. Fascinating that."<i></i>

Perhaps it was the light in the expensive eatery. Michino had to blink a couple of times as he wiggled his tongue until it unstuck in his mouth. As a waiter walked by his quick right snatched a glass off the serving man’s metal tray of beverages. Being that they all looked the same the boxer just grabbed at random. Without waiting even a second further he brought it up to his lips and swallowed the bitter sweet bubbly with a grimace in his unfortunate choice. When his mouth had cleared he took a chance to take a second look at the man who called himself Sousuke…and still couldn’t believe what he was looking at.

After Chiyo stepped in and offered a name that didn’t put a foot in her mouth the boxer tried to get a grip on reality. Had he taken that many blows to the face? Since when did Sousuke dress and act with such…sharp tact? The blood lust of the men and women at the table did not skip pass the fighter and it stirred a little of his blood up; yet he stayed confused as to why they would do that. It would take nothing for him to kill nearly every one here barring perhaps Sousuke and Nobu, he suspected anyways, yet the businessmen threw off an aura that put the demonkin on edge. Reality continued to confuse the Toraono as, with a simple word and gesture the Steward removed all that hostile attention away from Michino and his lover. The shift left him a little speechless as Chiyo tried to overcome the facts that this man apparently knew.
As he tried to get a grasp on the sudden shift in tension his table was brought over and added onto the dinner party. The older teenager looked around the eatery right then as other guests of the restaurant were being asked to move to a far side; he assumed to keep any other disturbances beside himself away from Nobu’s party. At the entrance people were now being turned away as well and as the young boxer took his seat next to Chiyo, across from Sousuke, he suddenly began to feel the importance everyone saw in him.

Y-yeah,” the mulatto youth responded to his mentor in regards to Chi-Chi as his cheeks flushed, “We started dating in private a while back and felt like it was probably best to stop hiding it. This is our first public…” he looked down with a quick glance and same caution the Steward had shown a second ago, “…date. Though I still don’t think You-Know-Who is aware quite yet. I can’t imagine his reaction is going to be great…which is partly why I tried to invite you out.” His eyes said he wanted to just get this over with but the words wouldn’t come to Michino’s mouth. Instead he changed the subject for the moment hoping he’d get around to revealing what he had been doing with his time over the last few months.

So what is up with the sharp dress? When I first saw you I swear I thought you were an elaborate clone jutsu until I got closer…

In the back of the establishment a very tall man had his back to the wall flipping casually through a newspaper that had been released around six in the previous morning. The news would be considered ‘old’ considering the newer events that flowed through the town but on the face of the tall man’s paper was a picture of Katsuo and a deceleration of war. The news wasn’t new but it was still fresh enough to linger in everyone’s head. Most that had heard it saw it with little surprise as the feeling there was something brewing in the background had been around for a minute. Every shinobi who had traveled anywhere near the sea recently would be able to remark on that violent vibe that just seemed to hang in the air.
A female waiter walked up nervously to the large man and without speaking so much as a word reached down to grab the empty coffee cup that sat placidly at his table. She gasped and yelped at the same time when his hand suddenly snapped down from the paper to her wrist; her surpise elected a hidden grin from behind the paper. Even without the hand to hold the page the material seemed to hold a stiff shape as if by some other means than what most people who came here to eat walked in with.

Another, if you would please,” spoke a very soft but strong tone. He released the waitress’ wrist as she took the coffee cup and walked away pale as a dead body. The moment she stepped over to the busing station her legs got weak and one of the other waiters was immediately by her side keeping the young woman steady. When he gently asked her what was wrong with a look of ‘get it together or its our job’, she replied that there was just something about that man in the back.

Indeed the seven foot tall stranger in the corner was something of a mystery. He had been here for a straight hour drinking coffee, eating a few pastries, and reading the local papers with incredible patience. It was as if the man was waiting for someone and was very close to staying for as long as someone was allowed to take a seat by themselves - at least one that wasn’t at the bar. The young woman who looked like she stood at death’s door had looked the happiest and chipper of all the waiting staff before she got his table.
She couldn’t explain it…it was like the man’s presence instilled sheer fear and ate at her life essence just by standing near him. At first it was just something she ignored and figured it was her ‘creeper sense’ tingling…but then the fear started to set in. It wasn’t a normal fear either. It was an anxiety that came from nothing but continued to powerfully boil with each pass near the large man’s table. Now she could barely stand after he touched her flesh with a hand that had felt cold.

“N-nothing. It’s nothing….just…can you switch tables with me?” she pleaded with the male waiter.
“Are you nuts?! I’ve got Nobu’s table, I can’t pass that up!”
“Look I’ll give you whatever you want, promise, just please…”

For a moment the male waiter looked like he was going to refute his fellow employee again but the part of him that was single and desperate folded. Almost instantly some of the color began to return as she put on a chipper smile, took his drinks, and swayed her hips on over to Nobu’s party to pass out the third round of alcoholic orders. As she walked way the young man crossed his arms with a smirk on his face as he sighed and turned to pour the large stranger another cup of black coffee. As the black liquid poured into the ceramic cup a flash of wait passed in the corner of his eyes and he looked up to see a young man of enormous size in a lab coat running around the building towards the entrance. Shaking his head knowing that the man would never get in on the count of his dress and reservations he lifted the coffee up and placed it on a new saucer. Taking a deep breath he looked at the ticket to make sure he got the name right before walking back to the tall man’s table and placing the coffee down after removing the old saucer.

“Here you go Mr. Ryuu, please enjoy,” and stepped away.

The small girl glared back at the angry looking individuals sitting around the table. Just because the couple was interrupting their dinner party didn't mean they had to be so damn rude. After a beat, however, she remembered she was supposed to behave - at least in present company - and she turned her eyes back to Michino and the man who should have been their guest for dinner. Luckily it at least looked like their plans wouldn't be too disrupted as she saw that a couple of waiters were moving a table over to join the others which would provide enough room for the teenagers to join the party.

Great...now we have to sit with all these uptight pricks all through dinner...

Taking the seat next to Michino, she tried to ignore the fact that the other people were even there, and focused on what Sousuke was saying. After he turned his attention to her, however, she really wished she hadn't as he mentioned knowing her father. So much for making a good impression, she thought wryly as she took a long sip of her wine to hopefully calm her nerves, nodding at the man's last statement. She was pretty sure she had met the man's mother during her last excursion into the desert, but 'Chino saved her from mentioning the fiasco by speaking instead.

Both men's voices were lowered as they discussed their relationship and someone whose name was avoided. She could only assume they were talking about Michino's asshole of a half-brother and the girl turned her attention elsewhere. The boxer had told her plenty about his family life in the last few weeks and she had already decided that the man was an awful excuse for a human, so she tried not to talk or think about him for fear of offending Michino. Instead, she turned her gaze to the rest of the restaurant, pointedly ignoring the other end of the table as she did so. There were lots of couples enjoying a special night out like they were trying to do, some businessmen and women having late meetings with out of town guests, and an assortment of others just enjoying the warm atmosphere and good fare. A small smile curled her lips up as she took another drink from her glass just as her eyes landed on possibly one of the biggest men the petite girl had ever seen.

The hulking giant had to be at least seven feet tall if not more given the fact that he was sitting down, and his pale blond hair would have stuck out anywhere. The man's appearance tugged at a memory of Michino describing his brother, however, and she had no doubt that this man was the one and only Ryuu Tama. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she watched a pretty blonde girl with a sweet smile stop to collect what Chiyo assumed was an empty coffee cup before freezing in what looked like fear. The young assassin tensed as she watched, but the girl moved away from the man quickly enough and retreating behind the wall that hid the staff area from the eyes of the wealthy patrons. Golden eyes flickered back to look at the man as he returned to his paper, the events of the last minute only having served to solidify her dislike of her boyfriend's half-brother. What the hell had he done to that poor girl? After a moment spent mentally chastising the man for being such a dick, she returned her focus back to Michino just as the same girl she had watched before come over to drop off drinks for the rest of their table. Glancing up at her with concern, she tried to read any unease on the girl's face but it would appear the girl was very good at her job. Leaning closer to Michino, she would touch his arm lightly to get his attention, and once he was listening, speak softly enough that hopefully only the two men would hear. "Hey, is that huge blond over there your brother?"

Since that failed party, some things changed in the life of the Steward. Perhaps it was a mixture of things really falling into the right place at the right time. The man had been healed by a member of the Jashin religion and had been relieved of a regret that had been with him for a long time. Sousuke did not know what the healing was going to entail, but it was something that made him better. In the back of his mind there was a nagging that he was not worthy of it. Yet this was a man who had been fighting on several fronts since he day he was born. Not always combative with fists, but combative in a variety of ways. He had been at war with Ancients. He had been at war with humans. He had been at war with demons both physical and mental. He had been at war with monsters. At this particular moment he was at war with himself. Given a title and a new responsibility. Anyone with Ancient heritage or an Ancient themselves in nature had a great deal to fear in the man who had become Pestilence of the four winds. Pestilence was the one responsible for the sealing of Mikaboshi, and moreover responsible for the knowledge of what Ancients called 'Screaming Blades'. Sousuke had kept his appointment on the lowdown keeping in secret for the most part. He had his reservations. Mother Suna and Mikaboshi somehow through their resources and intelligence mayhaps knew of the appointment. Maybe they did not. The Steward had been stockpiling weapons and technology. For the purposes of war.

Michino's words caused a slight grimace to form. "Ah yes."<i></i> He spoke slowly as it came to light the reason why there was the invitation. "I do not think our mutual frenemy can do much about what his relation decides to do in terms of a love life."<i></i> Sousuke knew what it was like, to have someone not approve of a romance. Twice now in the last three months, Sousuke had given thought to Urufuu. Pride was a curious thing. The exiled Inuzuka who was an uncle unto Yume. "My once beau, had a very low opinion of the frenemy. She thought of him as ... prideful, stubborn, and too much of a gambler."<i></i> Sousuke spoke lightly of the matter. It seemed as what had happened was either forgiven, or perhaps something that had long since passed when in fact it was something of the last month. Sousuke had always seemed to be like a calm and cool collected man, but there was something about his physical presence which seemed to further amplify it. In the background there was some idle chatter that had involved Sousuke. The man would turn his head and answer the cluster of businessmen. "He would pinch a penny in the face of the pauper and make a fool of himself."<i></i> He answered. The witty reply followed with laughter from those at the table. Michino would make an inquiry as to what this was, this sharp dress. "Oh, if it was truly sharp I would cut myself on it."<i></i> He remarked. He faltered for a moment with a wry smile. The Steward titled his head slightly. The facial gesture was not aimed at Michino. It was aimed at something else. The concept of fate. "Sometimes ... one gets a new lease on life. Sometimes one wants to try something new. Then ... then sometimes one wants to be only but a superior version of himself."<i></i> He answered, and spoke in a low whisper. It went unnoticed by those at the table surrounding them. "Even a white lie is sometimes in the better."<i></i> It was a very intense and focused moment, but it went by quickly enough. All for the better. Chiyo had noticed someone who looked like the frenemy. "We all cannot stare at the same time."<i></i> He remarked lowly. "Chiyo."<i></i> He spoke slightly louder, "I do hope you're drinking grape juice. If not I'm going to have to a word with an adult. Someone here clearly needs to be the adult."<i></i> He remarked wit fully. The table again went up in a series of laughs and cheers. This is what one calls, making a distraction.

The teenager genuinely laughed when Sousuke made a comment about his suit not being sharp enough to cut. It was a loud laugh full of joy and mirth. The sound was something of a new thing coming from the boy as he generally restrained from laughing at anything but ironic situations. Not to say he didn’t have a sense of humor, but, Michino rarely found anything actually funny having lived such a rough life. The guy still had no idea who his father was, his brother was the biggest asshole in the country, and he was only now starting to come into his own as a fighter. Yet the teenager laughed at the mentor’s joke and for the first time since the Steward had met him seemed to be actually loosening up. Before long his dark skin was touching the perfectly pale flesh of Chiyo and there was no wondering why he was able to slowly change his attitude; there was a saying about the wonders of a good woman for a reason.

Yet when the Steward mentioned getting a new lease on life the Toraono felt his heart sink. The look of mirth and good time never left his face but he was sure that Sousuke saw a little bit of the light in his eyes flicker. The twist in his stomach said this would probably be the best chance either of them would get to explain that Michino had been involved in the Underground Boxing that his mentor was very much against…along with his inevitable retirement from the shinobi field all together. He had been rarely useful as a combatant in the field as it was and with talks of a war brewing…well…the boy had a gut feeling he’d do better behind ally lines than enemy.
Then mention of the ‘frenemy’ came up and it was nearly a knee-jerk reaction for the boy to spin around in his chair. Stopping himself short he caught a blurred image of a gigantic blond in the back and turned a grimaced face back to the party. To no one’s surprise the Toraono still wasn’t a fan of his brother or even the idea of his presence but was at least thankful to which ever kami were listening that at least the egotistical jack-ass hadn’t decided to walk over and bug their party. Taking that as a blessing in itself Michino decided to ignore the man’s presence and simply ordered his food when it came his turn.

An hour passed as everyone drank, ate, and continued to discuss politics and business. The mulatto male had become a little more quiet letting the conversation between Sousuke and Chi-chi continue without much interruptions from himself. He was still trying to work up the nerve to talk to Sousuke even as he could barely contain laughter from listening to his lover’s evasive replies to her drink possibly being alcoholic. Her intelligence reminded him again of her training and true nature which she only continued to display by nursing her ‘grape juice’ as long as she could during the hour knowing there wasn’t going to be a refill.
As the plates were being cleared the teenager could feel his heart quickening as he knew it was coming time to open up. That now-or-never moment shored up way faster than he had hoped and with a heavy swallow the boxer began to talk in a low, apologetic tone,
So I’ve been meaning to talk to you about one of my habits you may or may not know of…for the last half year or so I’ve been fighting in the Undergro-”

His sentence was cut off by a sudden deep thump followed by a high-pitched scream and cries of shock.

Down at the other end where Nobu sat a man on his direct left had fallen down face first into the table. His body had already stiffened up as if effected by rigor mortise and a white foam was frothing from between his lips. Shortly after a second man fell followed by a female who stumbled down to the ground after trying to get up and run. In the split second that followed her fall a panicked male voice screamed,
We’re under attack!” and the entire restaurant manifested into sheer chaos.
Immediately the tables they sat at were upturned as anyone sitting at Nobu’s party who wasn’t a shinobi, and even a few who were, attempted to make bee lines for the front where a tall man in a lab coat was currently loudly arguing with the bouncers.

Having rarely been in a situation that required him to be on such point Michino could only sit there for the first few seconds in utter confusion as he tried to wrestle down two battling anxieties even as Chiyo and Sousuke were undoubtedly already on their feet and ready to fight. Finally the boxer collected enough of himself to push away from the table and quickly turn his back towards the two at his sides to look where the large blond had been sitting. While it seemed a bit more evil than Tama normally was he could see the mad man poisoning an entire dinner party just to get a point across or to even get their attention. His suspicions were only heightened when the teenager turned to see that indeed the large man was gone and nowhere near the gathering crowd of people near the door; a place he would be sticking out like a sore thumb.

Hello son, good-bye son,” came a sudden cold voice from the table behind Michino. Boxer reflexes kicked his feet to whirl him around the moment he heard the voice because the man who spoke it had absolutely no presence whatsoever. Yet even as fast as the teenager turned, as quick as Chi-chi the Killer was from her years of training under Toushin, and as terrifyingly calculating as the once previous Kazekage was, neither of the three saw the man appear on the table; only the near consequences.
A long black blade was already swinging down. It was around the size of a long sword in blade length but the entire weapon was made from a cold black metal that felt like it was drinking any light near it. Runes from a time lost had been etched into the metal and the guard was in the image of some dark multi-armed goddess. The tip of the blade swung down at the boxer and he felt the overwhelming pressure of death approaching him. Like a deer in the headlights the closer the blade got to him the more paralyzed by the sheer evil of it he felt. At the last second the blade twisted away from his neck as the blonde moved with superhuman speeds to dodge the first two attacks aimed his away.

Feeling like the spell was broke Michino jumped back to give himself space between himself and the man. As he did there was a desperate cry in a voice that sounded way too familiar. The boxer turned his head in confusion away from the older man that looked like his brother to see Tama in his signature dirty lab coat with a hand stretched out over the crowd as he tried to push through them. It was only seconds that the boxer looked out in confusion away from the man on the table, but those two ticks of time was all the opening the Seikon needed to warp behind Michino. He felt a sudden throb of pain explode in his leg right above the knee and as he looked down his vision swam. The black blade had punctured his leg and blood poured from the wound for only a moment before it started to spill a form of liquid rock instead. From just above the knee down his right leg had been turned to stone but the nerves attached to the sudden rock flesh were still burning strong as ever.

It was all he could do to scream as he grabbed his now stone leg and fell over. Images of the man who had just stabbed the Toraono flickered all over the large room to move in what appeared to be attacks on the people fleeing. Three bolts of electricity cracked over the crowd to pierce through all of the clones heading to the crowd as Tama’s image formed from one of the bolts. The desperate look on his face that had broken out into a human’s cold sweat only heightened the urgency in his sentence before anyone else could react to the other clones,

Sousuke, it’s my father! Avoid the sword!

Chiyo frowned as she watched Michino's reaction to the knowledge that his brother had apparently followed them to the restaurant. Her eyes flickered back to look at the man again, but he was still just sitting there, reading his paper. Being protective by nature, a trait she had learned early on from her father and the woman she considered her mother both, she hated the fact that anyone could affect Michino like that. It really pissed her off, and she found herself hating the man even more, but the boy beside her seemed determined to forget his brother's presence, so she gave his hand a gentle squeeze and turned her attention back to the table. A smile pulled at her lips as Sousuke asked about her wine and she immediately spoke up, her tone apologetic. "Oh, no sir, of course not. My father would be severely disappointed if he ever caught me drinking and I try not to get on his bad side. I'm sure you can understand that if you've met him." The girl's golden eyes sparkled with amusement as she took a small sip of the beverage in question before speaking again. "This is a mix of grape juice, cabbage juice, carrot juice and celery juice....however you get juice from celery. Anyway, it's this cleanse I heard about recently that's supposed to help with blood flow." It wasn't a complete lie...she had been researching different ways she might be able to improve her abilities and had come across the recipe by chance in an old cookbook. It was supposed to be for the elderly or something, but it sounded like something that at least couldn't hurt her to try, so she had written it in her notes. Of course the blend sounded absolutely disgusting and, being a fairly picky eater, Chiyo hadn't been able to bring herself to try it yet.

The rest of dinner was extremely pleasant and it seemed the man she had been so nervous about meeting wasn't as uptight as she had expected one of the leaders of the village to be. She might even go so far as to say she could be friends with him, an oddity for the naturally suspicious teenager. Even the rest of the crowd at their table didn't make things as awkward as she had anticipated; if anything they had helped the conversation flow more freely. It was all probably helped along by a fair amount of alcohol and everyone was looking very flushed and replete as their plates were being cleared away, and she turned her full attention to Michino. It had made her a little anxious that he had been much quieter than he usually tended to be around her. Of course, in the process of getting to know each other over the last couple of weeks they had discussed his plans for the future at some length, so she knew he was nervous about the reason behind their dinner invitation. Smiling encouragingly as he finally spoke up, she gave his hand a squeeze and shifted toward him as he spoke, watching his mouth form around the words as he started to speak.

His admission was cut off by sounds that were so at odds with their surroundings, it took a half-second longer than it should have for Chiyo to register what she was hearing, but the woman collapsing onto the floor behind her was enough to snap her out of it and she was immediately out of her seat just as an unfamiliar voice sounded the alarm and threw everyone into a panicked race for the exits aside from the few shinobi with the balls to do anything. In the same moment, an inky blackness took over the whites of her eyes and her surroundings came into sharp focus. She spotted a huge blond figure arguing with security just inside the doors but this man's clothing was completely different from the man she had seen terrorize the waitress before their meal and confusion washed over her. The man across the room seemed to fit into Michino's description of his brother now that she had a proper look, especially with the crazy hair and lab coat. But if that was Tama, then who had she seen before? Pushing the question aside for later, she turned to see Michino stand and look in the direction of the man she had pointed out to him. He had obviously been having similar thoughts to hers, and that made her happy for a brief moment before she mentally castigated herself. This was definitely the wrong time to get all mushy about how much they had in common...stupid lovesickness.

The cold voice from behind them kicked her into overdrive, and she would come to regret that moment of weakness as she watched an evil looking black sword bearing down on the boy beside her. A growl of rage ripped from her chest as she launched herself toward the man, using her chair to propel her body over the upturned table as she pulled her chakra toward her center to aim her fists anywhere and everywhere they would do the most damage. Unfortunately the giant was too quick even for her enhanced vision and her fists struck only air. Rolling back to her feet when she hit the ground, she twisted at the sound of an anguished cry in an unfamiliar voice that hit her like a crushing weight as she watched the man with the sword appear behind Michino suddenly, stabbing the point of the blade into his leg. "Michi!" The nickname she had given him came out as a terrified cry and she would scramble back over the table to place herself between the unknown blonde giant and the wounded boxer, purposely keeping her attention away from the injury, knowing it wouldn't help her concentration. As soon as she was in position, she would push her chakra into her right fist, aiming a blow to the giant's kidney just as Michino's brother dropped the bomb that this man was his father. Well...at least that explained why she mistook him for his brother.

What should have been a pleasant evening for Takahashi was not going to turn out that way. It was frustrating to say the least. Within mere seconds the restaurant was filled with violence and screams. More importantly Tama was present. He confirmed the needed things rather quickly. They were being attacked by his father who was the owner of a dangerous weapon. It was the sort of weapon that Fuu/Michi would implore Sousuke to keep safe from the deviants and from others. Unfortunately the man had fallen off the grid, until now of all days. Either way it was time to go to work. "Nobu get the civilians out."</B><i></i> The Steward ordered. The large man would nod his head. Nobu fully knew that Sousuke was already going to need room and not more distractions in order to do what he did best.

The Steward immediately removed the silver ring from his index finger. He grasped the ring and a crunch noise was heard. Did he break the ring? Seemingly. That is what it seemed like but he made a flicking motion and was now holding a tuning fork in one hand. He held the object and counted in his head. He raised the tuning fork and flicked it with his metallic hand. This was one of the new devices he had worked on. The Steward was a psionic, but the device he was now holding was a 'Focus', which was designed to amplify his powers and to make sure nothing went haywire. The worst thing to happen was to have a psionic have their power set become a threat unto anyone and everyone who was not the enemy. The Steward fed through the tuning fork his psionic power and unleashed a concussion pulse. Teng was a fast person. He was keeping himself invisible by constantly moving. That was the problem. Sousuke needed to keep the man still for a moment for him to observe him. Sousuke's concussion pulse was being amplified and seeking out the variable which in this case was constant movement.

Sousuke kept up with the silent act. Tama was worried and looked like he was scared? Certainly not a good show. He would nod his head at Tama. His eyes darted about the room trying to find the man who was evading them. In an unfortunate way, this was going to be like fighting Shouki. Not because their nemesis was a Jashinist, but in the sense that they had to catch him right here in the moment. Not before. Not after. In the raw moment itself. In the metallic hand, Sousuke formed Peredition's Arrival. The blade was not yet ignited but he held it firmly. He was looking for an opening, or anything to interject. Don't touch the sword, well thankfully the blade Sousuke had on his person at this moment had a crossguard hilt. The blade was beginning to emit heat. <B>The sins of the father are present for everyone to see and feel. The sins of the father will fall unto the sons. Sousuke's face formed a focused predatory expression. It seemed like ... he was angry? I will meet the sins of the father. I will be there with you.

Screams from the crowd roared over the sounds of incredibly fast combat. Non of the rich civilians that crowded the front door could even sense that there was people already trying to kill each other. Even the few shinobi that were attempting to leave only knew that there was people fighting but little else; such was the caliber of those being attacked. No matter how hard the crowd pushed no one was able to escape even an inch until Nobu stepped in and bellowed orders. Clones of the blonde giant that had not been destroyed came rushing in to try and stir more chaos but the orders commanded out by the Akimichi caused the weaker shinobi to suddenly turn and stand their ground with him. At their side, doing everything he could to keep people alive, Tama darted between the people and clones as his glowing green hand slapped a wound here and a cut there to keep the weaker standing. His blue/green eyes, though, never left the table where his deranged father stood glowering over Michino.

The Teng that had drawn his sword and struck at his declared son was foiled of his plans by those the boxer held dear. The temptation to give into his sadistic side and begin killing them to break Michino was heavy but the mad-man appeared especially focused for some reason today; he hadn’t even began to rant yet. Realizing that wounding the Toraono was going to be the best he could do for now the blonde stepped back to survey the situation and look for his escape routes. His head turned towards the kitchen for a few seconds which cut out his direct line of sight of Chi-Chi the killer…and as with every other man who made that mistake the female assassin’s image suddenly flickered beside the giant. With a powered strike of focused chakra into the blonde’s kidney the Uzumoreru would witness with her own eyes the man’s stricken organ explode. Blood flew out of Teng’s mouth simultaneously with a surprised look that suddenly turned sinisterly amused rather fast. Standing between the monster and his prey the assassin stood her ground as a hand grasped her wrist moments after it left the small of his body that she struck. Her eyes would then witness the overwhelming power of who she dared to strike as his exploded kidney began to piece itself back together before her eyes. His grasp shifted into a two finger hold on her tiny wrist and with a simple snap of those fingers and his thumb her wrist and entire hand’s bones were crushed in an instant.
With that deadly amused look still plastered to his face the man turned as he wiped the blood from his mouth with one arm and raised the other to strike with a speed that was too fast for the girl with a freshly broken hand to comprehend. Not that she wasn’t well versed in knowing how to ignore pain; the maniac was just that powerful. As his glowing fist that would appear to Chiyo to be the size of a boulder came within inches of her face a sickeningly loud crack snapped over the sounds of chaos for just a second followed by the shattering of stone.

The boxer, who had snapped out of his pain the moment his father grabbed Chiyo’s hand, wasted no time in countering by raising his fist and smashing it against his stone leg. He quickly grasped the now detached stone, gathered his good leg under him, and with everything he could muster shoved his body between her and the man’s fist. With an overhead swing the boxer brought down his own petrified leg at his father and shattered it over the man’s head.
In the short span of time this all happened the Steward had drawn a weapon and attacked before drawing a second while watching with those cold calculating eyes. The Fork seemed to quiver once and an invisible aura of sheer psionic force erupted through the bar causing multiple images of Tengokai to suddenly shiver and then explode into particles. On the far side, away from the strongest of combat, was a thump. The sword that had struck Michino dropped down in front of him as he fell against the floor in front of his lover. A cold sweat overtook him as his flesh began to grow pale from the shock of losing his leg while waves of horrible pain throbbed from the gently bleeding stump that was once his knee. Fortunately he only had to endure the pain for a moment before a kind warmth replaced both feelings. With the caution of a wounded feline the Toraono lifted his head slightly and looked down to see Tama aging himself to heal his brother’s wound shut.

Broke off your own leg to save her life. Can’t say I enjoy the why but, dude, that was seriously bad-ass.” an older man laughed at him, “Yo Sousuke, did you get him?

The chaos started to die down. The screams became less and less as Nobu helped out the rest of the civilians. The bouncers were instructed to bar the doors to the entrance and any other doors in the building. They were to then send one of them to alert ANBU and the Kazekage immediately for, who knew, the man could very well have been an assassin sent by the Daiyamo; it was anyone’s guess so far. As Sousuke cautiously neared the stunned giant he would take note that the man’s flesh was ashen; as if he was already dead. Another step forward and Teng’s face would suddenly crack and cave in on itself causing the rest of his image to fade away and reveal the corpse of one of the poisoned patrons. The blade in front of Michino wobbled a little before erupting from the ground to fly back to its master. A strong large hand caught it as Tengokai materialized from thin air. It swung hard and fast at Sousuke’s neck.

The black blade, the “Blade of Ashura”, was most famous for being the weapon wielded by the Ancient’s favorite executioner. It fed upon souls to empower both it and its user by keeping the poor creatures and humans trapped by the curse blade in a permanent limbo while drawing off their collective life energy. Through this weapon the mad man has learned a few tricks regarding souls and ‘mortality’. Even now as his weapon struck down at Sousuke two more of him were starting to stand up where there had been corpses and each of them held identical swords. The Steward could try and block with either weapon, though, only his second blade was capable of deflecting the blow. Even doing so would cause a racking pain to him so it was still ill-advised, yet, in the exactly one second that Sousuke had to react there was only a palm-full of options and non of them would give Pestilence any sort of upper hand.

So Tama, with a grim face, decided to tilt the battle in his friend’s favor.

A golden bolt of lightning suddenly shot across the space to strike the Rider and use the force of the electric blow to push him out of the way as the scientist re-materialized from the bolt of energy. As thunder rolled causing the windows to rattle the black blade bit into his shell and then tore across his body like he was made of paper. There was no blood as the wound opened up wider to reveal a mass of golden light beneath his ‘flesh’. Tama’s eyes went wide with realization of his mistake and mouthed a single swear before turning into a burning burst of golden light that ‘popped’ into a cloud of golden smoke. The vapors swirled and absorbed themselves into the runes of the black steel as the scientist’s clothes fell to the ground empty of a person.

A smirk twisted the girl's face as the giant turned his attention away from her and she felt her fist sink into his flesh. Her mindset spiraling into the cold assassin her father had created, she was able to fully enjoy the satisfying feeling as she watched the organ rupture beneath the blow. The next moment, however, her hand was in the giant's grip and she was watching the injury mend itself. Cursing, she turned her attention back to Tengokai's face and tried to pull her hand away just as the bones splintered and pain threatened to overwhelm her senses. In a testament to her father's teaching however, she was able to keep her head and allowed the adrenaline flooding her system to drown the pain for the time being. Thankfully that clarity also helped her keep her feet when she was released. A beat later, however, Chiyo wished she had been so lucky as to fall to the ground in pain as the man's huge hand swung toward her face with a force that would definitely do some serious damage to her small frame. The moment passed quickly, barely letting her acknowledge what was about to happen before the sound of splintering stone rent the air and the blow she had braced herself for didn't come.

The next thing she knew, their opponent was falling to the floor in front of her and she noticed the jagged pieces of stone strewn around them as she instinctively caught the falling Michino, her broken hand protesting at the strain. As she lowered them to the ground, her legs curled under his shoulders, her lap providing a cushion for his head. The smoke cleared from her eyes, her concern for the boy who had saved her life in more ways than one calming her anger now that the threat was seemingly eliminated. Her uninjured hand brushed sweat-damp hair from his face just as Tama moved to their side and worked to mend the wound. A breath the Uzumoreru hadn't realized she had been holding left her lungs in a heavy sigh of relief knowing that while he was down a leg, he wouldn't bleed out at the very least. Despite the chaos still surrounding them, she enjoyed a small moment of relative calm before her hand gave an excruciating throb and she started to turn her attention to the injury before distraction came again in the form of Tama's voice. She pushed the pain away one more time just to scowl at the man. What Michino had done was definitely badass, she would give him that, but it was also stupid and reckless. "Don't listen to him. If you ever do anything like that again I will kill you personally." The threat was softened by a tender kiss placed on his forehead. There was no way she was worth him losing his leg. Shaking her head, she straightened and let her eyes darken again to inspect the newly healed appendage. Genius or not, the young assassin was wary of the man and she wanted to make sure there wasn't any internal bleeding happening or anything before she helped her lover sit up and finally turned her attention to her own injury.

"This is really gonna suck." Taking several deep breaths and gently prodding at the heavily bruised flesh, she felt for the fractures before not-so-gently snapping the bones back into what should be their approximate original positions. Unfortunately this was the first time she had ever broken a hand to this degree and there were a lot more pieces than she was used to, but at least it looked like a hand again. "Yep. That sucked." The words were spoken through clenched teeth, biting back a groan as she turned her attention to where Sousuke was approaching the unconscious blonde. Following the man's movements, she ignored the aversion she felt to looking at Michino's father and finally peered at his face just as the figure morphed into the corpse of a civilian. They weren't out of danger just yet so, with another curse she draped Michino's arm across her shoulder and pulled him upright. The most important thing was to get him out of the way. Obviously his father was trying his best to kill him, and there was no way Chiyo was going to let that happen.

Pushing herself as fast as she could move with the fact that she was carrying nearly twice her own weight, she deposited him behind the upturned table. After a beat, she took his face into her hands and pressed a quick kiss to his lips before speaking quickly. "I meant what I said before. I can't lose you and I'm not worth it anyway." The warning flashed in her eyes as she looked at him, but she smiled a little as she spoke again. "I'll be right back." The next moment she heard the crack of lightning behind her and she whipped around just in time to watch the scientist vanish in a flash of golden light and smoke.

Tama was gone in a selfless act. Disappeared. Gone. Not even ashes. The Steward noticed immediately that Tama turned into a smoke cloud that was absorbed into the sword. Calculating. Tama was absorbed into the sword. Michino was part Toraono and part human. Tama on the other hand was part Ancient. The difference in who they were, was the fundamental key in this. The weapon was Anti-Weapon technology, which was something Sousuke had been developing for years. The idea was to kill an Ancient, not to absorb it. This was something out of the original Pestilence's play book, which was in fact his play book now. The man who became Pestilence was not amused. He was going to have to play this out in a myriad of ways. There were only so many constants possible.
The Plan said:
First. Lodge the psionic focus in the ceiling. Pestilence did this. In a flickering motion he flicked the object and it lodged itself into the ceiling. The focus would be the instrument through which psionic techniques would come out of. He programmed the focus to do one thing right now, redirect attacks. Single target, the sword, psionically divert the weapon into the ground. It was a keyword of sorts the focus had been programmed with.

Second. Realize the company you are in. There was a weak point in the chain here. Michino and Chiyo. Any new attacks would more than likely be directly at them to finish the job. Remove Michino from the field, and then make things exceedingly difficult politically. It wasn't that the man feared Chiyo's father, more over the concept of what he represented. The Steward needed to call in favours from people, not be subjected to just another war on the same front.

Third. Count the dead. How many people were dead at the table? Three? One was out of commission. Two present. Could be that Tama's father would attack both of the youths at the same time. The psionic focus would at least cause one of the blades to be lodged into the ground. Fifty percent chance it was the real one. No. Less than that. There was the original one present too. Three of them. There was a flaw here. The Steward would wait for a moment. He would wait for the first movement. He would hijack the body with a genjutsu to spread the pain to the rest of them. Sousuke would intercept the target immediately after and unleash a full flurry of blade strokes with an ignited Perdition's Arrival. The idea was to immediately burst down the target and then cause all others to break apart.

Calculations. Done. Now to act. The Steward unbuttoned the top button on his shirt and pulled his tie down. The Steward looked up and then hurled the psionic focus into the ceiling. His eyes darted to and fro quickly enough to keep an eye out for any quick movements and or actions against the two youths. The plan was reactionary, but at this present moment in time, he had to work with it. Once he had limited the numbers, he would then move into a far more agressive and solo confrontation with the assassin.

The world spun. It was the only thing that had caught Michino’s focus as he was lifted and dragged behind the table that had been upturned in the scant minutes that had passed. With a heavy sigh he felt the back of his head thump against the table and his left hand darted down to grip the thigh pain was shooting through. Chiyo’s kiss caught him off-guard and for a moment he had the same terrified expression his brother would of had at the same gesture; a look that only became worried when she told him where she doing. His hand reached out to grab something of his lover’s to stop her but she was already out of reach. There was a sudden clap of thunder followed by a golden light and a disturbed look on Chi-Chi’s face, but she vaulted the table to join the fray regardless.

Cold sweat dripped from his flesh as he held a hand outstretched. Never in his life had he felt so useless. Even after overcoming such great odds to be able to fight freely, a single injury removed him from a battle that could be the death of people he loved. Pain was throbbing from his recently healed leg and moving around was already causing the wound to tear back open; but there had to be something he could do. With a grunt he pushed himself to the ground and began to crawl to the edge of the table end and peak around it, watching the fight before him.

For the first time in his life he saw a fury in the eyes of a man he had known for so long to be neutral on every emotion. It was terrifying. Something cold sank down in Michino’s stomach when he followed the eyes down to the pile of clothing on the floor. The old panic he used to feel when the Demon was ready to wake up began to haunt his heart. There was a grip of fear that pressured it down like a steel clamp as he hoped that this wasn’t what he thought it was…even knowing that there was only one thing that golden light could have been.
If I died, there would be an explosion of energy that could probably wipe out Suna.’ The words of his now vanished elder brother rang in his head as he tried to wrap his mind around the fact that Tama was indeed just gone.
Pestilence, on the other hand, wasted no time in facing the monster who spared no time in preparing his next attack after slaying one of his two sons. As the Steward set up his psionic weapon all three of the clones touched the black blade and pulled a smokey golden soul from it. With a quick breath the nasty being absorbed Tama’s soul without giving away his location and ingested some of the scientist’s memories; particularly the most recent ones.

Two Tengokai clones hopped over the table, darted to the Steward’s far left and right, and of course the one before him, charged in at different speeds. The black blade swung for the man who dodged as something pulled down the attack and threw Tengokai off balance. His opponent swung an attack but the genius released his sword to dodge out of the blow as the second clone stepped in behind the ex-Kazekage and threw in his lot.

The three clones each continued to keep up with Sousuke, never showing so much as a single opening that wouldn’t result in his own injury. Even with the parameters set up the madman showed which side of the family the villain was reminding the Steward the horrors of those who could feast on souls. It was as if Tengokai had already once fought this Pestilence and had planned ahead for this battle despite the fact that such an event would have been impossible.
On the other hand Sousuke wasn’t completely on defense either. The two pushed back and forth at each other on equal grounds until an x-factor would appear and shifted the balance. It could be a simple slip on liquid, a miss-timed step in the wrong direction…or a well placed knee in the back.

The bastard known previous as Tama’s Dad was so used to being just an utterly terrifying presence that his attacks sent panic through all but the strongest of wills. This man was one who was constantly underestimating women as he believed them to be the weaker of the genders in their species. It wasn’t that he didn’t have a valid reason, though, as he had never met a female he wasn’t able to overcome in some manner…but he also never met the daughter of Toushin. The sudden strike to his spine crushed nerves against the bone of his back as the blow sent multiple waves of pain through his body. The attack was one of expert precision that could have only been done by someone could see exactly where and what to hit. Teng quickly turned and back-handed the teenager with a sickening crack that would send her flying towards one of the restaurant windows. It only took half a second to make that attack.

It took less than that for Sousuke to counter.

When the blow hit, it hit him, not the clone. With the power of being able to see the cardiovascular system it took no time at all for Chiyoko to pick out which one was the real Tama Dad and which ones were corpses. The Genjutsu hit first but the man didn’t feel it until he felt the sting of the Steward’s blade biting into his flesh. Dodge as he might too many of the blows hit full on and through the illusion felt the pain tripled over for every clone he had created with dead people. A clone in the kitchen noticed by no one but the terrified staff in there fell over dead suddenly.

The madman leap backwards while swinging his blade defensively to give himself some room. This had gotten way out of hand long before he had planned given the variables he had calculated, but, once again the fool had underestimated Sunans. In a slight panic the villain realized that the plan he had nearly twenty years in the making was coming undone so effortlessly. The sudden urge to cough over took him and blood flew from his mouth as he slowly began to realize that the wounds struck upon his body were also not healing.

Shit…” the madman swore as his spare hand moved to hold better onto a gut wound that might tear open if he wasn’t careful now. Whatever his opponent’s blade was it seemed to be of the same caliber as his own. A weapon to destroy weapons. Teng’s golden eyes darted around between his opponents and his prey, his mind registering at the last second that the girl’s body wasn’t where he’d thought it be and sidestepped at the last second to dodge an attack. His sword hand swung at the last second to parry an attack from Sousuke right as the psionic focus said ‘nope’ and dragged his blade to the ground. With another loud swear the dark sage leap back to distance himself again then right before he landed flickered. His image reappeared right next to Michino as a hand full of black chakra raised itself up to strike down at the teenager. Teng’s face was twisted with a mix of desperation and sheer insanity. The boy rolled over to face his father with a straight face and a small scroll held tight in his grip. The seal had already been broken and unrolled.

During the two minutes or so of combat that lasted before Chiyo found her opening Michino lay stunned wondering how it was possible that Tama wasn’t bouncing right back up with a smart-ass comment and an attack. He could only stare at his brother’s dirty heap of clothing as tears threatened to well up. The two rarely had seen eye-to-eye but the man was the only remaining kin he had that wasn’t a cousin and knowing that he was gone deepened the wound. Yet as the teenager lay there in self-remorse of his weakness his eyes noticed a strange lump in the lab coat. One plus one equals two. Tama was a scientist. Tama had all sorts of crazy creations.
Steeling his mind on the wild hope of finding something in that strange lump the Toraono bit down on his bottom lip and began to pool his chakra beyond the pain from his leg. Right as his lover landed her attack Michino used what little control he had with Ninjutsu to bend the shadow of a table leg to stretch out and grab the lab coat. Watching the barely corporeal shadow drag the garment over felt like an eternity, but finally he as able to release the jutsu and reach in.

Michino’s heart nearly jumped out of his mouth when he felt the cold touch of metal against his fingers. Without daring to worry of the consequences he removed the scroll tube, realized what it was, and broke the seal to read the contents. His heart dropped back down again when the first sentence read like a suicide note. The scroll in his pocket was a ‘last resort’ weapon to only be used in the event of his death. Pulling the scroll open a little more the teenager was able to comprehend some of the Ninjutsu written into the paper but all he could ascertain was that it ‘summoned something when attacked.’ As if one cue he felt the murderous presence of the man who had been pressed into a corner behind him and knew that this was now or never. The last trick up Ryuu Tama’s sleeve.

The Toraono rolled over and held open the scroll. The black attack followed through as the madman quickly read over the scroll presented to him and laughed. Ebony colored lightning stabbed down in the direction of Michino’s heart…and slipped into the paper of the scroll as if it was a pool of water. Both father and son distanced themselves in a panic unaware exactly what the hell was going on. Teng shook the scroll with a panicked cry and looked at his two opponents with a face that read, ‘Hey, this isn’t fair.’ The small scroll only continued to suck his arm down into a deep invisible well no matter how much he clawed at the metal tube that contained the paper. With another cry of frustration Teng gestured with his remaining hand to call his black blade to fight against the psionic hold. The blade lifted up and shot past both his opponents and removed the remainder of his arm from the shoulder down. Red life fluids poured out as the man turned even more pale and gripped the blade’s hilt. With a hard jerk he removed it from the wall as his look of fury slowly turned to one of survival, then acceptance, then madness in the span of a few seconds.

Well this was a good show! Seriously, I’m surprised my little loner has so many people willing to die for him…guess I should stop trying to have fun and show the respect you deserve...

Teng turned the blade in a reverse grip and stabbed it through his thigh. A sudden sonic scream erupted form his mouth and shook the entire foundation. It caused some of the people who were still trying to escape to fall over unconscious. As he held onto the unearthly roar that went on longer than human lungs should allow a black spirit rose from his own shadow and began to drape over over his shoulders. His skin blackened and his body began to grow in overall size and muscle. The Ryuu’s clothing ripped and tore as the scream turned suddenly guttural as a being empowered by a Shinigami’s spirit rose before them.

Teng's darkness rolled off of him like a pyroclastic flow, coating everything it passed by in a pallor of darkness and unease. There was no denying the intensity of the evil that radiated from him and as people fled the scene word had spread quickly of the brawl going on in the Crystal District. If there was anything that the citizenry of Sunagakure had become accustomed to reporting and reacting to, it was homicidal maniacs making a scene and tussling around with good guys in a very public fashion. The crowd spilled out into the street, some running and hiding amidst the chaos of the brawl as Teng's shout shook the ground and the very foundations of the buildings that were situated too close to the structure that the group was battling within. The shockwave of his roar tore through the building but just as it was about to slam into the group of heroes Teng was standing off against there was a flash of gold and red and that ripple of fear and hate found itself breaking upon the rocks of a willpower belonging to a man that had faced the likes of this sort of thing again and again over the years.

"Now see, jerks like you never learn. Words like that only attract more good guys."

His right arm raised and his fingers outstretched, the Kazekage had appeared on the scene in his own almost subtle but still spectacular fashion as the surf of Teng's darkness washed into them and crackled along the edges of a barrier that could only just barely be seen as a shimmer of gilded light. Despite the gravity and the seriousness of the situation, Katsuo's face was a wide grin of confidence and positivity in the face of the menacing aspect that Teng's body was transforming into. Katsuo had never seen Teng before personally but he recognized the man from the memories that he'd gained from the time he'd spent spiritually hooked into Mikaboshi's mind. This was the father of the young man that Mikaboshi had... mentored? No, that wasn't the word that Katsuo would have chosen for it. Mikaboshi had taken a young and vulnerable boy and tempted him with power that he didn't understand and that power twisted him into something utterly inhuman. Tama's sins weren't on Mikaboshi's hands any more than they were Sousuke's for sheltering what he'd become but he was in part the reason that Tama had possessed the power to perpetrate them in the first place. In the back of his mind Katsuo could almost hear the Deep Lord's scathing rebuttal that Tama would simply have been consumed by his own vices and dark pursuits but there was a time and place for thoughts and debates like that and facing down a rapidly transforming demonic juggernaut was not one of them.

Dropping his arm and glancing over his shoulder, Katsuo didn't recognize either Michino or Chiyo but he recognized the armored Sousuke in the guise of the Wind of Pestilence. It was good that Sousuke was here as it looked like he'd prevented a total catastrophe by giving people in the cafe time to evacuate.

"Pestilence, what am I looking at here?" He asked, a smirk on his face as he turned back to face the demonic Tengokai and shifted his ancestral holy blade Tatsumasa, still sheathed within it's scabbard to his right hand as the crackling bulwark before him faded and it's duration expired.

The energy this entity is releasing is dangerous to human beings of lesser constitution. If this battle spills to the street, further civilian casualties will become a significant possibility.

Caliburn's voice bubbled up in the back of Katsuo's mind, giving him a sense of the stakes that they were playing at but it didn't impact the expression on his face. If the others saw that he was worried, that would worry them and embolden their opponent. He'd learned long ago the strength of a resolute attitude and expression when facing supernatural horrors.

"And please use small words."

Dashing away from Michino's side, the small girl hovered behind the quick exchange happening between Sousuke and Teng. She bit back the urge to laugh as her eyes instantly picked out which figure was the real one and instantly focused on his movements. It was a perfect example of what was usually the fault of those that thought themselves powerful; they never accounted for the unexpected. I mean, how could he have guessed that his son's girlfriend would command an ability to rival the Hyuuga. Vision skating over the huge form, a wild grin crossed the Uzumoreru's face as she prepared to attack. There were so many perfect places to hit him...but where would inflict the most pain? The thought bounced around her skull as she considered her options. Luck was certainly on their side as the real Tengokai shifted his back to just the right angle at the same moment she had made her decision. Dashing forward and jumping at the last second, she twisted to land a blow directly to the small of his back. The large nerve cluster glowed a sickening red as the blow connected, the blood pumping furiously around it. The bones crackling under the pressure brought a laugh from the girl's mouth...until his huge hand cracked across her cheek. Well...at least she succeeded in distracting the man for a second.

The laugh morphed into a cry of agony as her vision went black around the edges and she was tossed through the air. Fortunately, this wasn't the first time she had been back handed across a room by someone who was too damn strong for their own good, and it certainly wouldn't be the last. Thanks, Dad. The sarcastic thought was just enough to push the white hot pokers that had taken to stabbing themselves through her skull away for a split second, allowing her to catch herself just before she flew through the window. Landing against the wall with a cracking sound, a low groan rose from her chest and she took the briefest of moments to pause and let the adrenaline take back over, pushing the pain away once again to be felt once this was all over.
Fairly certain her cheekbone was now cracked, if not broken, she lifted her eyes in time to watch the giant fight to put some distance between him and his would-be victims. The sight almost brought a smile back to her face before the prickling pain below her eye protested and she jumped to her feet, dashing to the side and closing the distance just as his attention flickered to where she had been sitting prone. What would have been a well-aimed kick to the side of his knee sent Chiyo stumbling a little as her foot sailed through the air where the giant had been standing. Compensating for the movement, she tucked into a roll as the black blade swung up to deflect Pestilence's blow.

It wasn't until she had returned to her feet that she realized the blond giant had moved to her lover's side once again and she started to dash forward, though no brilliant idea had come to mind on what to do just yet. Leaving it to fate that sometime in the second it would take her to get to him she would have some epiphany and be able to act in time to save him. The way of thinking didn't come naturally to her by any means, having spent her life up until the last few weeks using her strength for little more than murder; but protecting the man that had become her reason to wake up in the mornings had absorbed her thoughts. Getting there and making sure his father couldn't touch him was the only thing in the assassin's mind at that moment, until Michino opened the scroll. Against her better judgement, she paused, her eyes wide as she stared at the scene unfolding before them. Just what the hell had Michino found? She was frozen, her focus intent on where Michino's father's arm disappeared into the paper before he used his weapon to remove his own arm and her expression turned to one of disgust. He was desperate to kill his own child and still actually had enough desire to live after committing such an act? Jeez...and she thought Toushin was bad; his shittiness as a father at least came from a desire to protect her. The mountainous man's words only cemented her revulsion and she had a few choice phrases for the man herself, but she was cut off by the sound of his scream as he stabbed the blade into his own leg. Her hands flew up to cover her ears, though her eyes were glued to the transformation taking place before them and the arrival of another ally.

The girl had to blink a few times before she could believe that the freaking Kazekage had joined the fray, but of course he had. A villain of epic proportions was causing a commotion in his city. With all the chaos that regularly erupted in Sunagakure, this was still more than the day to day trouble that the military could clean up easily. Hell, some of the military had even fled the scene like civilians. Apparently Chiyo was just going to have to face her latent mistrust of authority today, and really, she was thankful they were there. If the couple had chosen to use the chance to splurge as a night alone, they'd probably both have been dead long before Katsuo arrived, along with a good majority of the people that had been sitting around them. As it was, the teenager could now focus on keeping the bastard away from her boyfriend and she darted forward to crouch next to Michino and pull him back behind the table where she had left him before. "I told you not to pull any stunts like that, you are in so much trouble if we get out of this."

Sousuke's battle against Tama's father was not a flawless encounter. He had been unable to mount any great offense. He was able to keep up a good defense, and prevent anyone else from being killed. That was perhaps the best part in this. Chiyo was chipping away at Teng. Sousuke had underestimated the youth's fighting prowess in her ability to keep up. Teenagers were not quite in the prime of their lives but they were quickly approaching it. The Steward would not allow Teng to gain the upper hand as he continued to counter attack him. Teng's weapon was not being given any further room to absorb souls or any other mystical energies. While Chiyo was indeed sent flying across the room, the victory in that was that she was not cut by the blade, rather she was hit by a human hand. While it would have been perhaps for the best that she wasn't hit at all, at least it was better than having her soul forcibly removed.

Michino retrieved a scroll from Tama's remains. He opened the scroll and revealed what Sousuke could surmise was a black hole or a vacuum. It begged to know why Tama would have such a thing on his person which was very dangerous. If that seal had been pointed at the wrong person, or opened in the wrong place it could have been very problematic. Thankfully in this particular case the content of the scroll was opened and aimed at the right person. Teng was now missing an arm. That was an advantage that was going to help out. A swordsman without an arm was a challenged swordsman at best. Sousuke had been fighting only so far with Perdition's Arrival. At this point in time he conjured and summoned Thunder Talon. Peredition's Arrival burned brightly and Thunder Talon would being to crackle with lightning. He was about to mount an offensive but he was given pause. Teng began talking. It was something that he had yet to do so. Sure he was muttering curse phrases and the likes, but was normal. The man then took his own blade and stabbed himself with it. The Steward knew this trick. He knew what was coming. He had done this before, except without the stabbing.

"If you're going all in ---"<i></i>

There was a silence and the sounds of clicking could be heard. The transformation seemed to have phased in. Takahashi Sousuke the third of his name wasn't present any more. Instead it seemed like a machine was present. The lenses where the eyes were glowed softly. The machine body stood there to challenge Teng's new form. The ceiling was being held together. "Then I will do the same."<i></i> A low humming could be heard coming from the chest plate. Upon a closer inspection it would seem that the ceiling was about to come down. Yet the metal was holding together. Parts of the ceiling glowed blue signaling that chakra was being used to strengthen the metal. It was if the building itself was told to 'hold'. It would hold, unless destroyed. Pestilence was the master of metal. Pestilence was very much a Journeyman of the highest caliber. The metal would hold because it was told to do so. It was negotiated upon in ways that the human mind would have difficulty in understanding. "I am Pestilence of the Four Winds. I am what halts the progress of calamity, and your progress ends here."<i></i> The words spoken were not a theat. It was more of a declaration really. The machine that was Pestilence was drawing in the details of Teng's new form. It stood to reason that he was going to be fighting against a Hybird ancient now. Tama had the power set of a member of the Solar Court. It was very much possible that this new devilry could draw upon vast amounts of lightning and wind force. Considering that he was indeed holding the roof together, this might indeed be quite the calamity to withold. Pestilence was working with the data, and he was coming to the conclusion that he was going to have to continue to fight defensively. Pestilence gripped both Thunder Talon and Peredition's Arrival.

At this point in time, the Kazekage arrived. Timing was everything, and as per usual Katsuo would arrive just in time. Impeccable timing really. Pestilence would keep up with the defense, and Katuso would be the offense in addition to Chiyo. The Kazekage would ask for a situation report with the request of small words to be used. That in itself was a challenge. "A man-made Hybrid Ancient due to a Kensei transformation with possible Dark Sage power set."<i></i> Pestilence had yet to observe whether or not corpses with a flesh mask of Teng were a thing in this form yet. The amount of chakra being burnt out would have been incredibly high. This was a trump card. Pestilence gripped his weaponry. He was going to play this out defensively. His intent was to overwhelm any attack that anyone. He could engineer the annihilation of any attack Teng was going to deploy, or establish a barrier blade to absorb attacks. It was reactionary fighting, which Pestilence excelled at.

The foundations shook and groaned as the seven-foot tall human began to grow. Muscles twisted and popped to displace themselves and attach to different ways to reinforce themselves. The girl who could see behind the skin would watch as Tengokai’s bones would break themselves, extend, and reattach before reinforcing again with enough calcium to withstand even the hardest of crushing blows. Despite his black energy being diverted from the group the beast took another breath and continued to roar as cursed chakra energy poured out of his body. The top of his head nearly scrapped the twelve foot ceiling when he had finally finished transforming into the grotesque image before them. For a moment it just stood there as if waiting for something, and the moment either of his opponents attempted to take advantage of this a long thick snake like appendage would erupt from his stomach to spray acidic bile at them. The man’s lower jaw was split down the middle and it moved akin to an insect’s as it spoke,
... et nunc autem exultant lusibus ...<i></i>,” it chittered once before it’s entire gigantic form disappeared. The image flickered as the golden barrier broke and reappeared near Katsuo but far enough to keep from getting easily wounded by his blade. With a clenched fist full of cursed energy the very emotions of self-loathing and fear swirling around the Beast’s grotesque fist. The energy rapidly transformed itself into a claw as it drove itself down towards the warrior that stepped between Teng and his prey. The being’s newly grown wings cracked and broke away from his back causing putrid black blood to pour from the wounds. This was done to outright block the attack thrown at the back he turned to the Steward on two fronts. The wings moved themselves around to block out the attacks sent his way in the immediate. As the blood pouring from his wounds mixed with the oxygen in the air it turned into a corrosive gas that began to eat away at everything on a cellular level. Teng’s mind little more than a painful blur in this form but, just like his eldest son, pain only seem to excite his mind rather than dull it.

The smell of his nose hairs starting to burn was enough to convince Michino he needed to get himself and Chiyo away from this fight between gods. A year ago he had caught Sousuke in what he thought was full swing fighting against the man who had just sacrificed his very life to save the Steward’s. That battle alone had shown him just how far apart they were on not just power, but experience. For the second time in his life he watched the man now known as Pestilence rise above the strength he had previously shown. Turning his head to the right he watched the Kazekage with a casual smile while handling the overwhelming being before him. The Toraono’s heart raced as he knew from experience this fight wasn’t anywhere near over and the two lovers would get caught up if they stayed anywhere near it. His eyes narrowed at the sight of the gas latching onto furniture between it and the two teenagers. He could tell from his studies that the corrosive chemical wasn’t eating away at the wood and cloth like good old science dictated. Instead it seemed to be literally eating. Everyone once in a while he could catch a small mouth tearing away a table leg like flesh before snapping the piece in half and sliding it inside the black fog. The worried eyes turned back to Chiyo as he whispered through his exhaustion,
W-we…we…need to get out of here. We’ll…get, caught up-
The Toraono was unable to finish his sentence as another bolt of level ten pain shot up from his leg to his head like a wave. The wound Teng had dealt him was beyond painful and crippling. Unlike most who had lost their limb there was supposed to be a feeling of it still being there, but for Michino all he could sense was the absolute absence of his leg from the knee down. The waves of pain began to rock adrenaline through his body again as his blood pressure would start to climb. The wound that Tama had tried healing started bleeding again. He would hold on with all his strength the moment Chiyo started to move them to somewhere safer knowing he only had a moment before he blacked out and was a burden. Yet despite her best efforts a large wave of colliding energies would lift the teens off their feet and send them both crashing against the farthest wall. The scroll that had taken the monster’s arm also slammed against the stone and fell to the floor beside the barely conscious Michino.

Tengokai’s mind felt like goop. He knew his attacks were being countered and he could feel the piercing burns of his wounds. To be honest it was all that was driving him on. The grip the man had on the sword was starting to slip which would put the ultimate damper on his plans; since it would mean his soul got ate. This entire twenty year plan to find another woman that could bare his seed to spare himself the fate he had bound himself to the moment he grasp the hilt of the blade was coming unraveled. Was this fate, he wondered? The souls of the damned that the cursed weapon housed had whispered so many secrets to him and most of them turned out to be true. Had his pride finally made him slip enough to believe an obvious lie? Inside his body he had only a piece of Michino’s soul and because of the damn scroll only a piece of Tama’s as well.
Inside the Beast’s body the mad warrior genius sweated and grew pale. The attacks on the creature’s body were starting to become mortal. His blood started to freely pour from the palm grasping desperately to the weapon’s hilt. In his left the gold and black swirling power of the Ryuu and Toraono he had worked so hard to obtain only pieces of. The corners of his mouth began to twitch as the man started a laugh on the inside that began to echo on the outside as Katsuo and Sousuke began to lay down their next attacks on him.
Teng bit down on the two mixed Souls, pushed his thumb against the pommel of the sword until it popped off to reveal a spike, and drove it into his neck. If he let his concious slip on accident then the Ancient Executioner that was sealed inside of the blade would take over and kill everything, ruining his plans as it always tried to do. If the madman killed himself first, while consuming a powerful Soul, what would happen then? The blade twicthed sensing the vile ritual and turned into a liquid, diving inside of the mad warrior’s new throat wound. The black liquid drew on the two Souls and the depravity of the act against the Universal Laws, filling up Teng’s lungs until his vision was filled with moments of his life that slowly faded to white. A black shield of energy raised itself up between the Beast and the two combatants as the human inside of the shell was quickly broken down and transformed into working organs. Where a moment before the Beast was being pushed down by the sheer power of Suna’s strongest now seemed to rise as if it no longer felt the wounds inflicted. The being looked around with new eyes of beady little red orbs were locked inside the sea of black. Eventually they settled on Katsuo. The jaws chittered again as if in recognition causing the black barrier to fall as it rushed the warrior. The Beast’s wounds were already healing at a rapid pace but now there didn’t seem to be a calculating mind working to counter; just raw strength. It displayed this by barely missing the Kazekage’s head with a gripping hand that turned the pillar it did touch to particles with little more than a twitch. Attacks sent out by the Steward were now being properly countered on instinct as the stomach snakes seemed to be trying to grab at the weapons being summoned, regenerating every time they were cut down with no seeming end to them.

On the edge of the room as the godly battle roared and shook a building being held together now only by the Steward’s powers over metal; the blurred vision that blinded the boxer slowly began to clear for a moment. His bright blue eyes watched as the being looked far more wounded than either of his opponents began to laugh. Barely able to follow anything going on through the surges of chakra the youth caught the image of paper being tossed about in the peripherals of his eyes. Lifting his head a little Michino was able to recognize the scroll moving around in the energy being the one that had removed his father’s arm. What he hadn’t noticed before was all the unreadable Ninjutsu that had been scryed onto it was now gone and only a single faintly glowing kanji for blood vibrated on the center. The boxer, knowing his brother, figured that if everything leading up to now was a set up then activating the thing was probably not a wise idea. It no doubt contained some kind of bomb or, perhaps, a ray of energy that would consume…stuff. Another black wave of energy crashed against him throwing both himself and Chiyo at the wall again. He was now sitting up watching as Teng’s transformation started to heal and rush in for another attack. It was now swinging at speeds that were causing pockets of thick air to tear around the building destroying what ever they touched. With a do-or-die attitude Michino bent over a little, put his fingers against his bleeding stump, and slapped the kanji on the scroll next to him.

A pillar of golden energy exploded from the scroll.

The golden light consumed Michino, Chiyo, and a small circumference of what used to be the Crystal Districts finest eatery. The bright energy thumped twice like a heart beat causing large golden waves to glide through the air and collide with the black ones. Something about the waves of energy it pulsed brought about a feeling of peace and serenity to those it touched. The moment the waves clashed against the black ones being thrown out by the battling horror it turned as if being called by name. The Beast lurched its head away from Katsuo and looked at the golden light with worry. Ignoring the current battle it turned its back on the Kazekage and the Steward to rush at the peaceful energy.
