Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

At Kitsune Park, the once was arena that was famous for grand chuunin exams and tournaments, the area was crowded with spectators. Not for a battle, not for a ceremony, but for a... concert of sorts? Yume might be one of the better known faces of FiRE Entertainment & Music, but she wasn't the only idol there. Perhaps people came to see her, but just as many came to see other idols that they loved too. Majority of Kitsune Park was dedicated to a stage and audience area, where a rotation of idols performed for jolly entertainment. The remaining area had employees and volunteers selling out merchandise and albums to the fans of their respective idols. Yume had a bigger section, but you know, what does that matter?

The carriage approached the more secretive back entrance of Kitsune Park, but music and cheers still blared even through the thick stone walls. Yume hopped out of the carriage, ushered along quickly by assistants to get changed and have her face made up. If her friend decided to come along, she'd be facing almost the same makeover treatment too.

Her appearance at the tables was a little subtle, without so much an announcement that she was here. One fan noticed, undoubtedly excited and bounded up to her with an already bought album, begging for a picture and autograph. Soon, more came up asking for signatures on different things, sometimes weird , sometimes not. More asked for photos together, sometimes in weird poses, sometimes not. Yume enjoyed meeting her fans all the same, a genuine cheerful smile on her face. It was always humbling to remember that this many people knew of her and wanted to see her and shake hands.

"Hi, thank you so much for your support." Polaroid camera in hand, she gave a cute wink. "Selfie?"

It had been a while since Yomi had been to a public event. Honestly, it had been a while since Yomi had been seen in public. She wanted to become less of a hospital hermit and become more in tune with the community. She chose this event mainly because it would allow her to achieve her goals, and because she was borderline obsessed with Yume’s music.

Yomi wore her concert tee plastered with Yume’s perfect face and a pair of shorts with a gold fanny pack. She wore her hair in a tight ponytail with a ribbon tie that she glued a black daisy too. Yomi carried a bouquet of white daisies and in the center of the bouquet were black daisies fashioned into the shape of a heart. If given the chance, Yomi would present them to Yume, but worried that someone would destroy them before she would be able to. After all, last time she went to a public event, someone rudely destroyed her daisies. She was scarred from that incident but wanted to move passed the trauma.

Yomi made her way toward the meet and greet area. It was packed tightly with Yume fans and well-wishers and probably a lot of haters. These haters were only there waiting to snap photos of some tragic event that they hoped would befall her so they could sell it to the highest bidder while tarnishing her name. Yomi frowned at the thought and hoped that she wouldn’t encounter someone like that. What would happen if something did happen though? Would Yume get hurt? Would Yume die?! Would Yomi would be able to save her in case of an emergency?! Would Yomi die?! A look of panic took over face and she clutched her fanny pack relaxing a bit as she realized that she packed some special syringes with her. She would hate to have to ruin a beautiful day or have her day ruined.

As Yomi moved closer and closer to the front of the line, more ridiculous thoughts went through her mind. Was this event secured? No one checked her for weapons at least. If she died here, there would be one less medic to serve Konoha. But they were already supremely understaffed! The panic that crossed her face turned to cold dread. Yomi bit down on her bottom lip, wondering if she should seek the security of the hospital instead of meeting Yume. Her duties were much more important than a silly event. A flash of light brought Yomi back from her doomsday scenarios as she finally approached the front of the line. Yume was graciously taking selfies with her fans. Yomi stood patiently in line for her turn to say hello and present the gift.

“It’s too late.” Yomi mumbled as she held the bouquet out in front of her in an exaggerated motion hoping that Yume would like them.

Kaori had to go home and get out of her shrine maiden outfit. She replaced the shrine maiden outfit with a loose and far-more comfortable sun-dress and a wide-brimmed straw hat. She still wore the red ribbons in her hair to conceal the horns, but everything was so much more airy and comfortable; especially in this exhausting heat. The cicadas chirped in unison as she walked into the village's square for a moment to see people flocking towards the park. She tilted her head as the majority of the fan-base were young girls ranging from her age up to 18 years old. They all wore the horns that were on sale, horns that mimicked her own. At least here, Kaori would probably be able to fit in as a fan-girl of Yume's. With that, she quickly tugged at the ribbons to expose her horns, folding up the ribbons and placing them into a pocket within her sun-dress.

There appeared to be billboards everywhere in regards to Yume. The magnitude of her popularity was quite unknown to her, but seeing the flock of fans migrating towards the park gave Kaori a much better idea of just how famous she really was. It was an honor to be so close to her. With just as many people wearing the horns, there were others going to the park that were rooting for the other idols. The other idols weren't as important to Kaori as Yume was, going to the park to fully support the idol most important to her. Not only because she enjoyed Yume's music but the fact that Yume treats Kaori like a human being and as a loving human who showed her some form of affection. A little bit of affection goes a long way for someone as 'broken' as Kaori was.

The sound of music could be heard from a distance, showing that she was close to where she needed to be. The closer she got to the park, the more densely populated the area would become. Something about such a large audience got her heart pumping. This, however, wasn't out of excitement but it was beginning to sprout from anxiety. She had never been around such a massive crowd of people before and she had troubles figuring out how to act around all these people. She took several deep breaths trying to calm herself down. She was at the park and she noticed a flock of U<3Me fans going into a certain direction. Kaori took this time to follow all of them. They would lead her to U<3Me's booth where she was signing autographs. The question now was whether or not she stayed in line or if she just pushed forward and got her attention.

Kaori ended up jumping in line and waited. Some of her fans were squealing about the chance to see Yume for the first time. The fact that she had people that loved her music comforted her. Kaori leaned to look towards the end of the line and waved her hand, seeing Yume sitting at her booth. She had a large smile upon her face as she waved to her. It was at this moment that she noticed someone holding out a bouquet of flowers out to Yume. That's adorable! Sadly, Kaori didn't think about that! Bugger!

"What's too late?"

Yume tilted her head to the side confused, wondering if that remark Yomi made was even meant for her ears. The confusion dissipated quickly though, when she was presented with... a bouquet of daisies? But their appearance wasn't of any daisy she was familiar with in this world. Were those natural? Or dyed. Ah, well who cares! They looked pretty cool!

"Oh, are these for me? That's so sweet of you! Here, help me thread them on my head," she grinned, bowing her head down towards the medic. Yomi was free to stick the flowers wherever she pleased in Yume's hair--let's just hope she makes it look pretty!

If/when that was done, Yume would straighten back up with a bright smile. If Yomi refused, she would still straighten back up, and with both a short apology and thanks, take the bouquet into her possession gracefully. "Thank you again, I'm so glad you came out. What's your name?"

Standing up, Yume urged Yomi to come around the table. With her polaroid camera in position, the lens pointed to them. "Let's take a selfie together."

Meanwhile, at the back of the line, Kaori probably would receive quite the fright of the day, if it hadn't happened already. A larger hand clasped over her head from behind, and disappeared as suddenly as it came. Moving to her side, Yume's manager fell into Kaori's field of vision, along with that resting bitch face of his.

"So you ended up coming," he said, refraining from a sigh. Gesturing over his shoulder towards where Yume was, the manager started ushering Kaori out of the line and past the crowd. It was lucky for them that the place was bumping, the others didn't even notice Kaori cut the line. Riots could happen otherwise!

"Yume would complain and chew my ear off if you were left waiting in line," the man explained, now conceding with a sigh. Reaching the front and weaving behind the table, Jun reached out to pull Kaori out of the crowd if she straggled behind. He dropped her off by Yume and Yomi.

"Found her," he reported to the busy Yume, readjusting his glasses. "Now work hard to sell those shirts, Miss Tenkawa. We don't want fans attacking you for having special treatment, now do we?"

A normal person would wonder, 'Did it even matter to him that she was just a ten year old girl?' And the answer would be... No. It didn't matter to him. And with that, the manager melted into the crowd, doing manager things.

-Hope you don't mind me joining-

It was one of the few days Akuma had off and he thought that he would go on a little walk all around Hokage Rock. On his travels he saw quite the festival that was going on in the distance, now Akuma was not a real social butterfly. His temper when younger sought to that, and his stature kept that alive today. Making his way to Kitsune Park, he thought about attending for a few minutes as he quickly leaped up to over see the arena, there was a concert of sorts going on down below it would seem. Akuma recognized one person in particular because most of the medical staff have listened to her music while working to boost motivation or people would be listening to her while working out.
In the beginning he would sigh every time the music came on, not that it was bad but that it just wasn't his type of music. But over time working with the songs playing it infested his brain and before he knew it, Akuma was tapping his foot along to the beat and knew some of the songs.

Getting down off the top of the arena, Akuma made his way into the line for this pop star. Looking around as the nearly seven foot tall man towered over many people; especially the younger group. Wearing his common clothes which was a kimono which showed more scars than he should, his boots; which wasn't to visible under the kimono and his headband around his left arm. With his crimson eyes he looked over the line and it seemed that it was getting shorter rather quickly. Not to his understanding but it was because of him that some of the people moved away. As well as this younger girl was ushered to the front of the line Akuma cracked a small smile because he thought it was sweet that she would see her idol so fast. But then it seemed that she was to sell merchandise, "Good for her, it's good to see young people take initiative and work." Akuma thought as he made his way closer.

Once it would be his turn to speak, he did not know what would be appropriate to say in this situation. He was no fanboy or fangirl, he just grew to like her music over time. Why couldn't this be just like at work or in a fight? Those situations he is fine, this was out of his comfort zone entirely. "Hello, just wanted to say.... you're music is infectious. It's really grown on me over the past few months and it makes operating on patients easier. Um, how much for a t-shirt?" It was blatantly clear that he was not that good with talking to people socially and was not one for shirts, but he was trying.
It was sad to say but it took Akuma this long to notice a co-worker, "Oh and hello to you, um... Yomi?" He was not the greatest with names and there was a lot of staff floating around. He never really expected people to remember his name either.

[ooc: Sorry for the short post. I didn't want to hold up the topic any longer. With niceties out of the way, hopefully I'll get out of this funk]

Yomi didn’t think Yume heard her offhand comment especially with all the commotion all around them, yet she did. Yomi just shook her head no and decided not to go down that line of conversation. Yume bent her head down to allow Yomi to place the flowers in her head and she obliged. The girl gave the celebrity a tightly packed floral crown. It was glorious, if Yomi did think so herself. Yomi briefly eyed the burley men moving to and fro, with one bringing a girl from wherever and put her to work.

Yume very politely asked if the Yamanaka would take a picture with her and she most certainly would take one. She smiled brightly as they posed together. Before the auto flash could finish, she heard someone say hello to her. It was a fellow med-nin. How nice to see so many med-nins enjoying some time off…

Yomi waved to Akuma and pulled him into another selfie with Yume.

“One more?” It was more of a rhetorical question…

With a little 'eep' she was confronted by a zombie. Well, at least someone she called a zombie. The Manager came into view from out of nowhere.
She looked around for a moment and then looked at the Manager with a quizzical look on her face; dumbfounded by his ability to either teleport or move so fast that he just appeared from nowhere. "Oh, hi, Mister Manager!" she said with a foxy grin upon her face. "Of course I came," she said before being taken out of line with the sound of envy coming from some of the other fans that were in the line with her.

She was placed in the booth to help sell some of the merchandise. There were a variety of merchandise to include 2 different sets of horns. She turned her eyes back to the Manager and gave him a peace sign. "Of course! I won't disappoint you!" she said as she took a seat at the booth and quickly glanced over the prices of the merchandise. After taking another quick glance at the stuff, she looked up to where the Manager WAS standing only to find nothing.

She turned to look towards Yume to ask a question about the Manager only to see her doing a selfie with another fan of hers. She remained quiet for a moment before a man walked up to the booth asking for prices of the shirts. Kaori looked at the listing for a moment and told him the price. "You could also buy a pair of horns similar to what I'm wearing. It's to promote her world tour 'How's this for Summer?'. They are pretty hot now-a-days," she said trying to convince the man to purchase a pair of the horns; modeled off of the actual horns that Kaori was forced to wear due to birth.

She never realized it, but the man asking for a shirt was extremely imposing with his 7 foot tall height. How could a man, or any human for that matter, grow to such heights? Was that, too, a birth defect that he was forced to endure or did he eat all of his vegetables? She looked around and pulled out a 4XL shirt, hopefully this shirt would fit him, and placed it upon the table in front of him and awaited payment. It was while she did this that the man was pulled in for a second selfie.

People from all walks of life loved Yume, even more than Kaori possibly. However, these people only really knew her for her music and not her as a person, so Kaori gets a bonus on that. Once the trio were done with their selfie, she simply waved to Yume with a big smile on her face. "Sorry I'm late."

Yume giggled and thanked Akuma for his kind words. Using music like hers as... motivation...? To operate on patients like that was a first she'd ever heard. She idly wondered if that's what they did when they operated on her to save her life.

Nah, Yuri wouldn't do that. Would she? The image of that looked more disbelieving and comical rather than offending.

When the one named Yomi pulled him into the frame, the idol was happy to oblige with another snapshot. "Cheese~!" The second photo film slowly emerged from the camera device and Yume shook it casually in wait for the picture to develop. Of course, you're not meant to do that, but at this day and age, they didn't know better. The girl grinned at the two, pen ready to scribble on the film.

"And who am I making this out to?"

After the formalities and signing the photos, Yume handed Yomi and Akuma their respective photos with a grin. She played with her black daisy flower crown, finding a brief relieving moment to rest and finally say hello to little Kaori.

"Kaori-chan! Oh, you look so cute in that dress, I love it!" she chirped, smoothing down the purple hair that went astray from manoeuvring through the crowd. "Are you helping out? Thank you, but you don't have to if you don't want to. You can just relax. Oh, perhaps after you help this gentleman with payment?"

She gestured to Akuma with a smile, and unfortunately due to the busy nature of the event, Yume was already greeting the next fan. But not before presenting Yomi's head with a devilish horn headband herself. Think of it as something in return for the pretty flower crown! Yume beamed, nodding to herself like in approval, before being hooked into a fan photo with someone else. That left the three to themselves for now. Interestingly, the longer they spent their time here, the crowd was slowly, but surely dispersing away from the booths off towards the stage area. Something must be coming on soon.

Pretty hot now-a-days? He smirked and nodded figuring it would help her tour out and make things easier. "This size should be more than adequate, thank you. The horns will make as a exceptional addition as well." He said as he was putting money down for the little girl. Akuma wouldn't say anything but he was buying them almost solely to help promote this pop star, thinking of possibly giving them to a poor fan who couldn't make it. Although he did try on the horns, in an attempt to make the young girl happy, as she seemed to enjoy modeling them off.

The reactions he had gotten where not the ones he was expecting at all, they where quickly very nice and welcoming. Even one pulling Akuma into a photograph with them, keeping his calm exterior on the outside but inside he was on high alert because the man was not used to this. People in the village where nice but he always kept them away, preferring to concentrate on managing his reckless nature. But, he had to admit; this wasn't a bad feeling. Almost cracking a smile as the photo was taken, saying in time with the idol; "Cheese!" remembering how Kata told him that is what you say when it happens.
"Hm? Oh Akuma, please." He said as he waited and received the photo, looking at this photo it finally struck him... saying cheese forces an appearance of a smile! He had to laugh because he never really looked at photos of himself Kata kept them on his travels and where ruined when they where attacked. "This," he said during a pause from laughter "this is a good one, Kata would have loved it." Smiling Akuma gave a bow, "Thank you for the photo, and thank you all for being welcoming and friendly. If you ever need anything please don't hesitate to call for me, Akuma Kira." After this he waved and took a few steps away before vanishing quickly in a flash of leaves.

Kaori sold the horns to the hulking man before he took the picture and left. Yomi took the picture and seemed rather despondent afterwards only leaving her with Yume. While she'd rather spend time with her alone, a pop idol's job is never done. She smiled at the idol after she was given the compliment. She did really like this dress a lot and it pleased her that Yume approved of the dress.
"Thanks, Yume!" she said with enthusiasm. "You're looking pretty too (as always)," she said with the final bit a bit quieter, hoping Yume didn't catch that bit. But with someone with good enough hearing to tell pitches and other things musically, it wouldn't surprise Kaori if she heard it.

There was another customer that approached her to buy a set of horns and a shirt. She quickly sold stuff to them while other people stood around and simply looked at the stuff. Due to the majority of the people being adolescent girls with little in the means of money, they didn't buy so much to keep Kaori constantly busy. "How long you going to be down here? Are you going to be singing today?" she asked out of curiosity. She wouldn't mind seeing Yume in action, doing what she does best.

The two fans had left quickly, though that was no surprise to the idol. Meet and greets, autograph signings and all those kinds of events didn't allow for an extended period of time to get to know the idol. It was very in and out. But as her time slowly crept closer, more and more people were leaving the booths and headed towards the stage area instead.

"Oh, I won't be here for long," she replied with a grin. "It's almost my turn on stage. Will you come watch or do you have things to do?"

It would be about twenty minutes later when Manager returned to Yume's side. He eyed the flower crown on her head, before exhaling and ushering her to the backstage for wardrobe and make up. "Okay, okay I'm going! Oppa! Make sure Kaori-chan doesn't get trampled! Kaori-chan, I hope you enjoy the show!" she winked.

Jun merely rolled his eyes. As Yume weaved her way through towards the stage, for the third time today, Kaori was left alone with the manager. "That princess..." he grumbled under his breath. He glanced at Kaori's innocent expression, unsure what exactly the idol saw in a mere child priestess, but shrugged it off quickly to continue his work.

"This way, Miss Tenkawa. You'll get a better view here."

He just happened to drop her off in the VIP area in front, generally for the other idols, celebrities and their managers to chill and watch the performances. The manager gestured to an empty seat before taking one himself. Fenced off from behind them were the non-VIP masses, standing and waiting with excited clamour.

"OH YM GAWF, YUME-CHAN!" a scream came from behind. A second voice was less impressed at the outburst.

"Oh... Dude, stop, you're drooling."

But that was a good indicator to show that Yume was in position on stage already. How did she and her dancers get there without many, if not anyone, noticing? Let's chalk it up to a little genjutsu, just for the flair.

Cute bubbly music started up, and the crowd started to cheer and chant. Yume's mini performance was just a warm up, and to some people, it felt out of place. This sort of music wasn't exactly what she normally sold. But when the song finished and billowing smoke covered the stage and obscured her, this started the U<3ME performance everyone came for.

Yume and her back up dancers quick changed to a different look, and louder cheers erupted from the crowd just when the first two seconds of the song started. They even started sing-screaming along at parts. Now this was the party everyone came for!

Though the manager looked bored, having seen her practices and performances many a time before. He was getting ready to cart her off away from the park when she finished her piece.

Great news that Yume's turn on-stage was about to happen! Kaori clapped her hands quietly in response to the information given. She nodded her head with a big smile upon her face. Yes, she so very wanted to see Yume perform, giving her insight on the product of Yume's hard work and dedication to the craft. Thankfully, people were starting to leave the tables in anticipation of Yume's performance.

It was a few minutes before Yume had to go on-stage to perform. She looked around at the remaining merchandise hoping someone would clear it out so people wouldn't get things for free. An enthusiastic wave was given to Yume as she took off, cupping her hands around her mouth to shout, "Break a leg!" she said before being met with pale-face once again. The more and more this guy crept up upon her, the more she realized that it was to be expected and the less likely she would be stunned by his sudden appearance.

Manager told her to follow before she smiled and walked happily towards the Manager. "Okaay, Manager-saaaaaaan!" she said in a cheery manner. He wasn't as bad as she had initially thought, only wanting what was best for Yume. It really only took her several exposures to him to realize that. Doesn't change the fact that Kaori thinks the guy is just creepy looking. That's what Kaori gets for judging a book by it's cover or by judging a vampire by it's fangs or judging a zombie for it's... you understand.

Kaori followed Manager towards the VIP section, looking around at how grandiose it was. It was much different than being out in the crowd with the rest of the fans. Naturally, if she knew of other idols or celebrities, her heart would be jumping out her throat, but due to not really knowing who any of these other people were, she looked up towards the stage in sheer anticipation of the lovely idol's appearance. And then a strange sound came from behind the VIP section. There was a crazed fan that couldn't process words properly, causing Kaori to shudder. While she loved Yume, she was grateful she wasn't a drooling fanatic like that person was. If that guy tried anything afterwards, Kaori would make his head explode.

Then the crowd erupted as Yume and her dancers appeared on-stage. Kaori smiled in excitement with her eyebrows pushed all the way up and she shouted similarly to the fan-boys and fan-girls in the crowd. Even if that was just a warm-up performance, Kaori loved every bit of it. After a quick outfit change, the crowd's pop was near-deafening. Once the music started, Kaori instantly recognized this song and she raised her hands into the air, giving fanfare to the song. While it wasn't her favorite song, she certainly did enjoy it.

There was a lot of energy in Yume's performance and a lot of charisma in the dancing and non-verbals. It was a no-brainer why Yume was so popular with the people in the village. She was beautiful, she had talent in both singing and dancing, and she had the discipline to continue on this path.
That was what the lay-man would see, but what they don't know is that she was also a beautiful person off-stage too with a dazzling personality that was both addictive and vivid. It was an honor for Kaori to get to know the person behind the stage and for that, she was grateful. After this performance, she definitely had to catch up with Yume to give her the grandest of praises.

The second the final note played, the manager was already up from his seat. "Let's go," he said to Kaori, barely giving her any time to bask in the performance. He weaved through the crowd towards the backstage, flashing his ID to suspicious staff members eyeing the out of place Kaori. They met Yume, who was grinning and high fiving the back up dancers for a performance well done. Before he or Kaori could call out for her, like a sixth sense, Yume turned to them, beaming.

"Ah, Oppa! Kaori-chan! How'd I do? How'd I do?"

New music played from the other side of the backdrop; indicating a different idol's turn to perform. Jun tapped his watch impatiently, cueing Yume to thank and say goodbye to everyone before falling in step with him. She looked to Kaori with a sheepish smile.

"I'm sorry, you can stay here for longer if you like. There's nothing really exciting scheduled for me until later this afternoon. I just have to go study medicine right now before Yuri-chan yells at me. Oh... That that being said, how is your training going?"

Outside of the walls of Kitsune Park, the horse carriage waited for them anxiously--the horse, that was. Yume grimaced. Can't she just walk to the hospital? The horse was eyeing her. One step forward and it'd rear its hind legs defensively and fearfully. So she didn't.

"So what do you have planned today, Kaori-chan?" she asked. Maybe she could skip out of studying altogether.

Kaori simply sat and basked in Yume's performance, taking it all in. She was star-struck upon hearing Yume sing only for her attention to be directed away by the sound of the Manager scooting her away. Back to reality, Kaori looked towards the Manager and stood up to follow him, hooting and hollering in fanfare for Yume and her group's performance. She only participated in it for a little bit before following the Manager towards the backstage, where he flashed his credentials. Manager was her way into the backstage area!

Upon reaching the backstage, she instantly saw Yume congratulating her team on a job-well-done. It wasn't until her attention was set upon Kaori and the Manager did Kaori shoot her hand into the air and wave to Yume. "Oh my gaw! You did so good, Yume! You and your dancers were awesome! They were, like, so perfectly in sync with each other and with you! And the singing was soooo goood!" Kaori continued on, rambling like a school-girl. This was the first time she had been this excited in so long. This was probably one of the best times of her entire life and she was glad she came.

Yume made an apology for not being able to stay long and that she would have to go study medicine with Yuri. Yuri was that other lady that was with Yume when she happened to see Kiri beyond the Leaf gates. A medical practitioner? Perhaps she could also get her foot into that door as well. She wanted to become a medical ninja for the simple fact that she wanted to help people; mainly so that people wouldn't die from terrible diseases like the one that Mina died from. Perhaps she could have Yume ask Yuri for a lesson in the medical field. "I should be ready for my Genin exam really soon! I want to start taking some medical classes so I can also become a medic nin," she said, expressing her interest in the medical field.

And like clockwork, a monster awaited them. Kaori raised her hands to protect her face out of instinct and let out an 'eep' as she stared at the abominable creature. After the flinching reaction towards the horse, she kept in stride with Yume, but gave the creature a wide berth. "Well, I actually don't have anything planned. I was hoping to go to the hospital with you. Maybe watch your work as a medic? That's a field I'd like to get into." She participated in an ANBU class and thought it was a bit meh, not finding ANBU to really interest her and doing the daily grind of menial missions wasn't necessarily her cup-of-tea either.

"So, can I?" she asked, giving Yume a pair of puppy-dog-eyes.

Yume grinned, a slight pink dusted on her cheeks--though whether that was from the heat or from humble embarrassment remains to be seen. "Aw, Kaori! Shucks, you're too nice!" she giggled, hugging the girl's head for a brief second.

As they made their way outside and Kaori mentioned her ninja progress, Yume couldn't help but smile. The ninja world was something she was never interested in, but it was a world she could never escape from. No amount of money or fame could get her out; it wasn't truly hers to begin with... Since even now her family still held a tight grip on her.

Her eyebrows raised high in surprise at Kaori's request, averting her eyes for a second in hurried thought before returning her attention to her. "Sure. I can ask Eonni. But... Keep the me studying medicine thing a secret, okay?" she implored, bringing a finger playfully to her lips. Stupid Yume, she blurted without thinking. Hopefully, Kaori was a trustworthy secret keeper.

They went the long way around to enter the carriage without being seen be the horse. The manage had the curtains drawn back for them to hop on, before boarding himself.

"Okay! To the hospital we go, Oppa!"

Kaori made a gesture with her hands over her lips, as if zipping them shut, to signal to Yume that her lips were sealed. It was a wonder, however, why Yume would keep her delve into medicine a secret. The fact that she's diving into an honorable field like medicine only compounds how much of a good person she was (and it would make her infinitely more popular with her audience) so the reason to keep it a secret was beyond her. However, if that was Yume's wish, Kaori had no other reason but to grant it. Kaori liked Yume so much that she would respect her wishes for privacy. Everyone had things they needed to hide; Kaori included.

Kaori followed Yume to the carriage where those monsters were pulling. She was amazed and terrified of those creatures at the same time. They were so alien and so foreign that she couldn't figure out how to feel about them. Perhaps, in due time, she would grow to like the animals. Probably not since animals weren't too fond of Yume, at least from what she had gathered. The three of them sneaked onto the carriage, causing Kaori to look around at how lavish and roomy this cage was. She was used to single-person litters that the extra space seemed lavish in her eyes. A mode of transportation that wasn't part of a Shrine ritual was certainly refreshing.

Kaori raised a fist as the horse-drawn carriage made it's way towards the hospital. "Yeah! Let's go!" she said in pure excitement. Anywhere that Yume would go, Kaori wanted to go with her. Whether the destination is to the end of time or even the bowels of hell. Yume treated Kaori like the human she was and that earned her Kaori's undivided loyalty.
