Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Kiyoshi brougt a large wooden box to the temple. He was going to give a demonstration of what the Circle of Five meant. He used to do this show so many times in his youth that he could do it in his sleep. SOmetimes he did, much to the amusement of his parents. Sleepwalking was a pain sometimes.

The large box was set in the middle of the 5 statues. Kiyoshi made a window in the box and sat down behind it. He placed some light curtains colored black as a sort of back screen. Thankfully, the box was big enough to fit the 300 pound frame that was Kiyoshi in it so he was effectively hidden. His black kimono made it seem like there was a black wall behind the make shift scene.

In a booming voice, Kiyoshi would announce his plans.

"Come one and all! Hear the stories of the Circle of Five! Show your devotion by attending the famous puppet show!"

Kiyoshi would pull out 6 little puppets and attach each one with a chakra string. Six little humanoid puppets would appear on the stage, waving their little hands trying to attract people's attention. Some would even go out of the window and try to approach people, doing little acrobatics to get their attention.

Kiyoshi's show opening took the form of a deep bellow that echoed through the hollow temple spaces. He seemed like a boisterous man, and he became a main attraction in the building. His theme today was a puppet show, and came with a religious theme. Faceless visitors were coming and going from his theatrical performance, but one interested lad made a slow approach to the Old Man's show. Today, Jomei had come to the Sanctum of Five to do a little exploring with his camera. He ditched his uniform garb in exchange for lax day to day, six-sleeved villager clothing. A heavy zoom lens was mounted on his camera and hung from his neck like a giant medallion with a empty, black eye. Before he was attracted to the sounds of Kyoshi shouting, Jomei was taking pictures of a monk praying intimately at an alter. His head was shaved but was starting to bud again. His hands were old and leathery, and his eyes were sealed shut. The sudden words come one, come all awoke the monk, and almond shape eyes glared into Jomei's camera view. All of the peace within the temple was being disturbed by Kyoshi's educational theater.

In all his years, Jomei never had the honor of visiting such a celebrated landmark. His father was not a religious man and his attitude simply ruined Jomei's interest in learning more about the mariushi's mythical deities. Jomei inherited his father's pragmatic view of the world, and relied more on the things he could understand. Jomei understood the beauty of well taken photo, and he understood why he chose the ninja path. What he did not understand, was...

"The Circle of Five."

Jomei observed the temple's main hall in a slight state of awe, as he arrived to the spot where an old Monk was disturbing the peace. Not from the quality of his puppet's designs, but for the magnificent artistry behind the temple artwork filling the room. His camera's shutter continue to snap with small mechanical clicks accompanying each picture. Giant obelisks of stone were carved into the depictions of 'old gods', as they were called. Archaic figures who's omnipresence still lingers on today, according to their followers. Jomei knew little of their story, just the fragments his father criticized at the dinner table over the years. In all of his picture taking, Jomei smoothly maneuvered towards Kyoshi's great show without showing real interested. He didn't want to draw the senior's attention before he could get a nice candid of him performing his show. On camera, his chakra strings were like the finest strands of silk imaginable, and glowed softly. There was a sense of heritage and peace in his portrait the moment Jomei snapped his shutter. The Mad Monk didn't seem so mad at first.

Kiyoshi watched as people began to gather. They were mostly uninteresting although there was a young one with a camera looking around. He was curious, but the show had to go on. He recalled his little puppets and lit a few candles with a little fire jutsu so to set some lights behind the curtains.

" Listen well, oh children of Stone for the Gods have not forsaken us. They live through us and have given us the strength to endure, for we are children of stone."

With a flick of his finger, a humanoid puppet appeared, dressed in purple.

"First there was Time, for time has always excised. He is the air itself and he was unparalleled in power. However, he was alone. He looked upon the ground and found a stone. He used his giant axe and smashed the stone in twain." the puppet mimicked hitting a large round object, another puppet that held some things in it that fell out. ""The first human, The Child of Stone, was birthed. Also, the God Life appeared, covered in fire. Unbeknownst to Time, another God appeared, death, and slithered away in the darkness, flowing like water." More puppets appeared, following the story. "Overjoyed to not be alone, Time made more Children of Stone. It was not long, however, that the first Child of Stone was taken by Death. Time was distraught. He did not know Death was so powerful. As many times as Time made Children of Stone, Death took them. Time, in a state of panic, birthed another Child of Stone and named him Iwa. Iwa was like the other Children of Stone, but Iwa was going to die like the rest of his kin. Time decided that he must create a way for Iwa to live. He thought and thought, until finally he reached into himself and pulled out his heart. He placed his own heart into Iwa, and from Iwa's body came Strength. Strength and Death fought a vicious battle, creating valleys and mountains, river and streams. Strength was solid as Earth, but water erodes all and Death eventually gained the upper hand. Again, Time feared for Iwa. He grew fearful and became so racked with guilt, his body decayed and stretched throughout time and space, for his heart could not give him strength any longer being inside Iwa. As Strength was defeated, Iwa looked to the sky and prayed to Time, not knowing that he was gone. Iwa prayed and prayed even as Death reached for his throat. Suddenly, a ladder appeared from the Heavens and Iwa climbed. Shaken, Death looked up to the Heavens and cursed Time so he could never form again and tried to climb the ladder. From the ladder came the Final God, Ascension. Bathed in light and the most beautiful of the Gods, he threw Death away form Heaven and decreed that only worthy Children of Stone could be saved from Death and left this world."

The puppets followed the words of Kiyoshi exactly. The show ended with all of the Gods and Iwa standing.

"And so we Children of Stone came to be. We are alive thanks to Time, who gave us his heart so we may fight Death. Death comes for us all, but we must fight and pray to Time. Without him, we are nothing. We must follow The Circle and we may live for all eternity!" The puppets bowed and the fire went out, showing that this was the end.

He began to pack up as the crowd dispersed. He stayed behind, humming to himself. He LOVED doing the show.

Tavi was walking through the Sanctum of the Five trying to get to the nature’s clinic. She walks on three legs with her front left one tucked close to her chest. She miss-stepped on the way back from work and twisted a hoof. She was going to the clinic to get it looked at. As she goes by she sees a puppet show; curiously she watches the puppets move and the man told the story. Due to her being a grey pony mare wearing a pink bow-tie, she was likely the strangest watcher he ever had. But story made her wonder; would the ladder appear for her? So many religions favored man, but what of beast. Are they not worthy of being saved? Tavi walks up to the man and congratulates him on his performance, “That was quite beautiful and informative. However I have a question. These Children of Stone born from Time are only men or did Time give birth to all creatures of various forms?” The man would likely be quite surprise about her ability to talk, however Jomei would likely not. Jomei would know which group she belongs to for he has met her overlord in a place few have traveled. Tavi knows nothing of Jomei but would not be surprise he met someone of her clan for there are a few of them that roam this village.
