Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

"Alright, to recap .."

The rogue began, the white-haired boy sitting lazily from one of the trees branches as he looked at his companions. His clothing was his generic brown robes, he'd learned already that fancy clothing nearby the treehouse is begging to have them dirtied. The rest of the crew sometimes took to adding their own little additions to the treehouse, he had to look into upgrading it some more later on. He'd hoped that most of them had shown up to the treehouse, it was going to be a drag hunting down the remainder that didn't hear the recap. The thought passed as he continued his explanation.

"They gave me chuunin, including the headband," Riku explained, holding out the headband with a smirk, "I'm apart of Konoha security now, and I have orders for me and the rest of us to escort civilians to the bunkers and barricade it against intruders."

With that very brief explanation, he hopped from the branch and walked inside the treehouse to a makeshift table, formed from two suspiciously obtained crates nailed together. On which he pulled out the map he'd received from Kenshin. The rogue glanced between everyone with a grin.

"Just remember," Riku said with a playful wink, "If this map is to ever fall into 'enemy' hands, set it on fire. Kenshin's orders!"

With that, Riku pointed a finger to the location of the bunker, the garden complex.

"Really didn't have much time to come up with a ... specific plan," Riku said with a shrug, "I got here just after the orders. But we got two major points to follow. We need to secure the bunker location and we need to escort civilians to it. After that, we can start fortifying it properly."

After the white-haired scoundrel gave his brief explanation, the boy blinked as he remembered he glanced at the others with an embarrassed grin.

"Oh yeah," Riku said, looking at everyone as he gestured to the map, "Got any suggestions on how we get this done?"

Ryujou sat on top of one of the boxy bee nests that he had stolen borrowed from the people that had stored a bunch inside of the forest. It was an interesting sort of hobby that the Bee Boy had never really considered. Finding homes for all of the bees and making a sort of Bee nation inside of the tree house! Like playing some sort of town-making game. It would be called BimCity and it would be glorious.

With a bee on his finger that he was petting, he tried to give the most reasonable advice that he could. "So should we tape an explosive tag on the back of the map or something then? If we ever can't find it, we can just blow it up! Then the explosion will let us know where the map is! Foolproof!" As Riku continued with the planning, Ryujou looked around for a chair that he could pull up to the table before giving up because that would be too much effort.

Flicking the bee back into one of the nests, he then got up and looked at the map spread out on top of the crate table curiously. "I mean, it would make sense to use bees for this stuff right? Gives us a sort of alarm system for the bunker location, if any dweebs show up while we're fortifying or when the Frost guys get to them. Also good way to get the civilians there!"

Ryujou shook his head, "For some reason everyone in this village is scared of bees! We can just kinda have bees chase them all into the bunkers then they won't leave them because they'll be too afraid of getting close to the bees overwhelming coolness! There's no way that it can go wrong!"

Ryujou tried leaning back in his chair after finishing his proposal before realizing that there was, in fact, no chair behind him and that he was standing. As he laid on the floor of the tree house he realized that it would be a great idea to have a refrigerator so that he could try eating cold honey. They could just get one of those big hamster wheels and have Kira's dog power it. Bee Boy knew that his ideas were the best.

Maikeru looked up awkwardly at the tree house in front of him, scratching at the back of his head. So, this was the place Riku had told him about? Well it was, to put it nicely, kind of a dump. The thing looked like it was going to fall over at any minute, and that had no one had put any sort of rational though to the floor plan or anything of the sort. Then again, this was Riku he was talking about. Out of the crew, it was mostly himself and Reicheru that were level headed, with Katsu showing brief moments of higher thinking. The others.. well, they were still children, which was why Maikeru never brought it up. Let them enjoy this a bit longer, if the higher ups would let them that is.

With a few hops he was standing on a branch outside of the main entrance, crouching as he tossed the inhabitants a two fingered salute. In his hand held held a small mahogany box, with the seal of the crafting clan he had been learning from emblazoned into it. Walking in, or rather, standing on the outside of the entrance, he listened in. There was absolutely no way he was going to walk into a building with the structural integrity of wet toilet paper. He listened to Riku, and then Ryujou speak, before taking his turn. His eyebrow was still twitching from one sentence that Riku had uttered however.

"Wait wait wait, what?" He said, shaking his head in disbelief. "They made you. Riku. The guy who knows like two jutsu total, a.. Chuunin? Did I fall down? Is this a dream? How hard did I hit my head?"

He was completely, and utterly stunned at the statement. He would never say it aloud to his friend, but, Maikeru knew for a fact he was a better shinobi than Riku. Hell, he was a better shinobi than most of the crew. He let out an internal sigh, before shaking his head once again. He decided to table that discussion for later, or more than likely never. He would rather let Riku be proud of this accomplishment, that berate the udder stupidity and ridiculousness of the Hokage's decision.

"As for the bunkers, I wish I could help but I was assigned to a different job. I have to help escort medical supplies, since I'm looking to transfer to the medical branch this is a good opportunity for me and I can't really turn it down. As for fortifications, I hate to say it, but, your stone bullet jutsu might come in handy here. As far as I know the bunkers are located inside the hokage monument and has lots of tunnels leading in and out. Worse come to worse, you two can easily collapse tunnels behind you, probably take out a frost shinobi or two in the progress. You guys aren't the best front line fighters so.. stay safe. Think smart, and don't do anything that Reicheru wouldn't approve of."

He shot the group a small smile, before placing the box he had brought with him on the table.

"Speaking of, I brought gifts for each of you. I made these with the help of the clans I've been studying under."

Inside of the box were enough small, metal bands with pale white crystals inside. The craftsman ship on them was excellent, and they seemed to be made of silver. There was a clasp on each, implying they were meant to be worn somewhere on the body.

"These bracelets are made with chakra conducting silver. They look like jewelry, but they're much more than that. The bracelets will suck a small amount of chakra from you passively, small enough that your body will constantly be able to regenerate more than it sucks, and it won't hinder your chakra pool, but, that's not the interesting bit. If your bracelet ever stops sucking chakra, the gem on the other bracelets will grow a specific color, letting the rest of us know that you're in trouble.. or worse. I figured with the frost invasion, and us being split up, these would be good for us to have."

It was a great time for a smoke,Kira looked at the Forest of Death patting his hands smiling, due to the fact he gets to enjoy his vices without no one knowing, but that changed as a scent of Riku has entered his nose's receptors,to confirm this was not a mind trick of his own mind(does that make sense,i think it does) he pokes his dog and asks his dog to find the scent of Riku to confirm if his partner hlis inside the mass of trees,or what people call a "forest".

"Yo Katsu, imma need you to sniff out Riku to know if he exists inside that forest".

Kira waits for Katsu's results as Katsu takes in a sizeable sniff of air to find Riku's scent, after a few moments, the results are finnaly here as Katsu faces Kira and nods, confirming that Riku is right there, with that clue Kira thinks for a moment, where would Riku probably be? Thinking made him lean onto a tree, and as he faces the tree,he looks at it from root to leaves as he faces up he notices a woodpecker living in it,Kira watches the bird move in and out of the numerous holes of it's house, which made Kira say.

"Nice model of a house....".

As he said house,it made him remmember a memory he almost forgot, they had a treehouse! It made him quickly spring up and whistle for Katsu,as he quickly ran for the treehouse, which made Katsu also run to catch up to Kira. After reaching the treehouse,he looked at it's height makes a great spot for some grand entrance, but before he does "the great" he looks around the area,to plan out things to make the already grand entrance....grander.

After a few moments of looking around he finnaly finds a grand way to enter.First,he applies seals on him and his dog after that,he then applies another one on his sword which is currently on fire, before the last part,he summons Mud Clone, then for the moment everyone is waiting for,it was time to perform the extravagant entrance.

Kira held his blade's handle to then spin around to gain momentum as he lets go of the blade,as he did so the blade flew, spinning towards a very thick branch nearby the treehouse as it came near,it stabbed right through the branch with ease because of it's molten nature, but before he switches places,he then gives his mud clone a certain command.

"Handsomest Boy Alive#2...i want you to bring the blade for me when i switch places with it,you got that?".

The clone nods, and at a split second,Kira and his dog quickly switch places with the currenlty flaming sword, after arriving at the treehouse,Kira then said.

"Kira does it all folks!....it's a natural talent that shows up every 100 years and right now it seems that we have now found the person who has it...It's Kira!".

Kira slowly walks in the treehouse, but unlike the usual Kira, this one seems to have a little bit more confidence gouged in his attitude, wonder what he ate,or what happened to him.

Katsu had arrived at Riku’s treehouse, a place of myth that he’d never actually been. It was, unfortunately, around the same time as Kira, who constantly called his name when referring to the dog. “I swear, we need a way to differentiate us. That’s going to get real annoying soon.

It wasn’t the most well-constructed looking hideout, but it was certainly cool as far as having a place nobody else knows about… or pretends to know about. If the ANBU hadn’t found it yet, Katsu assumed they would eventually unless they properly fortified it with genjutsu traps and the like to prevent detection. Katsu would work on that.

Figured they’d do something stupid like that,” Katsu replied to the news of Riku’s promotion to chuunin. Unless they could stabilize the most unpredictable X factor in the Frost War, AKA the crew, they couldn’t properly leave the village in their hands while they went off on whatever assaults or invasions beyond the walls. They could have just killed them all, but hopefully the threat of insubordination kept that in line. It didn’t often show, and they wouldn’t admit it, but Riku’s charisma is second only to the Hokage’s own authority, with much of the younger generation following this handsome idiot of a leader. “We have a limited amount of materials to work with, it looks like. Five trees can get us places, like with making simple traps or barricades, but it will be hard depending on how many invaders we get targeting the bunker.

If the name “Frost Village” indicates anything, we can also assume they’re used to fighting in cold conditions. I say we push on that. Take two thirds of the wood and turn it into fuel for a burning maze which should, more or less, conceal both the location of the bunker and make it difficult to proceed without expending a waste of both energy or time. We plant traps along the paths. I also heard about something called ‘Jutsu Sealing’, which should let us create a variety of traps despite our supply shortage.” Katsu was, of course, just spitballing, however the idea of trapping foreign enemies into a labyrinth of an unfamiliar nature appealed to a primal feature of the boy. All the while, Kira was performing some shtick with his entrance again.

Kaito meet a gang of kids in the tea whom he had so much fun and then Kaito joined that group of kids for more fun. But the one who he really interested in the white haired rogue. As Kaito got invited to join them to their tree house and then Kaito accepted it with a smile on his face. As Kaito arrives there he sees some more kids he didn't seen at tea, and then he sees the one standing in the middle of them was the white haired boy. As Kaito goes near those kids he says to them "Hello there kids, I'm the new person joining you guys today." as Kaito takes out the box of cigarette, and picks one of the cigarette and lits it up and starts smoking and waiting for their response. As he checks the area around the tree house.

Kohaku had Riku's scent memorised pretty well by now - he could smell him a mile off. High in that treehouse, even his aura of mischief wasn't above the rest of human civilisation. Both Inuzuka and ninken had scaled the treehouse in no time, more to investigate what was going on if nothing else. Riku was there, along with Katsu, Bee-lad, and various others he wasn't sure if he'd seen before.

"You've got to be kidding me," said the Inuzuka, staring open-mouthed at the headband, along with Riku's explanation of what had happened, "you seriously bullied Lord Hokage into promoting you to Chuunin?" Even Shiromaru looked a bit incenced... They all worked hard, and the class clown becomes the head honcho. Katsu was right; how many jutsu did he know again?

His nose twitched after a few moments; the strong smell of dog suddenly filled the room. The other Inuzuka guy he'd met before with Riku was here. Shiro headed straight for him and pawed at the other Kiramaru's leg, an affectionate kind of 'hello'. He and Kohaku were likely cousins so it seemed the politest thing to do when someone else was potentially a distant relative.

"So... someone catch us up. I'm completely lost as to what's goin' on here."

The rogue glanced at everyone with a grin before looking at the map for a moment. Some of them had brought up some decent ideas, just enough to give the white-haired rogue a general idea of how to get everything done. Just as he moved to recap the plan, he noticed the bracelets Maikeru brought with him.

“Wait, you’ve been training to become a jewellery maker, Joker?” Riku questioned with a playful smirk, grabbing one of the bracelets.

With a smirk, he looked towards the bracelet once more before subtly lowering it beneath the table and casually inching towards Kiramaru, his other hand remaining towards the table to hide his motives.

“Alright, to recap the situation then,” Riku explained, trying to hide his bracelet in Kiramaru’s pocket, “We gotta escort civilians to the bunkers on the map, we gotta collect some building supplies and we have to confirm the bunkers are secure. That means fortifications, a quick search or two and preferably telling ANBU to stay away from it.”

The rogue gave a wink at the mention of warding ANBU away from the bunker. The bunkers location was in the garden complex, a place a few of the crew members had already dealt with before. Namely in the prison area. There was bound to be ANBU sniffing around the place. The thought made the scoundrel grin slightly wider.

“I also need to set up some other side stuff,” Riku said, “Kenshin said we can use offices in the Hokage place to set ourselves up. I’ll probably set up all the details in there, lets us keeps our priorities in check. When it comes to teams ..”

Riku gave a thoughtful glance towards the map before pulling out three different cards, three different aces. He planted one beside the forest of death, one nearby the garden complex bunker and another nearby the vicinity of the oak district.

threecard-game.png

“Similar to the heist plan,” Riku explained with a small chuckle, “We set up three teams. One to go harvest the five trees we’re allowed, just leave it nearby the forests exit. One team to start escorting civilians and a final team to head over to the garden complex bunker. Make sure its secure with a quick search and start outlining any ideas for fortifications. We already have a few suggestions on that part atleast. If anyone needs to call in the others, the headset channel is 46. Think that summarises the majority of it.”

With that, the white-haired rogue spun on his heel and began to head out of the treehouse with a wave, the boy giving a grin.

“You guys pick out the teams,” Riku commented as he went for the ladder, his voice beginning to sound quieter as he climbed down, “Since Joker over there feels like slacking off, I’ll start looking for some extra numbers to fill in any holes! Kiramaru, you’re with me, I need some help decorating our new office!”

And with that, the rogue had headed out. Leaving the others to sort themselves out, it sounded hilarious in concept.

Ryujou peered through the circle metal thingy with his right eye, contemplating using it as a monocle but it wasn't really his style. Didn't have enough honey on it or bees and he already had glasses. Flicking his bees around as Riku went over the plan, he jumped up as soon as he finished. "I'll go escort the civilians! Everyone loves me because I have honey and bees and everyone likes bees! All I have to do is have the bees lead them into the bunker and it'll be really easy!"

Putting the metal circle thing for now, Ryujou started waving his hands before trying to stick his new stick in his pocket and hefting one of the artificial hives with both hands. "If you want to escort the people, just follow me or something! If you can't find me, follow the hives, I'll set them up everywhere in the town to show people how to get to the bunkers." Giving up on trying to figure out how he could jump out of the treehouse while holding the hive and still keep it intact at the same time, Ryujou just ended up using his handy dandy telekinetic jutsu.

Waving the hive in the air behind him and shifting the metal thing into Kiramaru's pocket with psionic assault, Ryujou started running off towards the village, stopping occasionally to pull bee hives out of bushes where they had been safely hidden. Dragging his floating tail of hives, Ryujou wandered off without waiting to see who all would be joining the escort team. There were hives to set up and people to convert, after all, and none of them were waiting around.

Maikeru looked between his acquaintances and let out a sigh, rubbing the bridge of his nose. Being around them made him feel so, so much older than he really was. Regardless, he listened to Riku prattle on about his plans, causing Maikeru to raise a curious eyebrow. He found it hard to believe that Riku of all people was in charge of handling the herding of civilians. Especially with people like Ryujou as his back up. What in the world was Kenshin thinking? Regardless, Maikeru continued to listen.

It wasn't a bad plan at the very core of it, and it made sense. However, the fact that Riku left the organizing of it left a sour taste in Maikeru's mouth. As he held up a hand to object to his, Riku simply left. Groaning, Maikeru shook his head. Riku may be a chuunin, but he really wasn't ready for this level of responsibility.

"Riku wa-" He tried to say, before being cut off by the white haired shinobi jumping from the tree. "Alright then."

Turning to Ryujou he pointed at his make shift bee hive stick, and just put his face into his palm.

"Ryujou, bees sting people that aren't Aburame. I am begging you not to use the bees to gather up the civilians." Though sure his pleas were falling upon deaf ears, Maikeru tried anyway. Looking down at the box he had brought, and the bracelets left, he was really beginning to wonder why he was even here.

With another shrug, and a push from the wall, he stood to the edge of the tree house. Looking out at the forest of death, he wondered how exactly he was going to heal this broken, sick village. He wasn't sure it was something he could totally do alone, and it wasn't something he could do with the help of the crew. He was sure they would see the streets on fire as much as help them recover.

"You guys really need to get serious." He said simply, turning back to face them. "All of you, Riku especially, are treating this like a game. We're not in the academy, it's not a game anymore. Have your fun if you want, but if you don't take something like this serious.. then I don't know how much longer I can continue to be associated. There's a time and a place for silliness, and planning to evacuate civilians is not one of them. Take your jobs seriously, you're almost Genin now, and Riku is a Chuunin. Start acting like it."

With that, the young Uchiha turned from them, before falling from the tree into a puff of smoke.
