Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The task at hand was one that he was called onto immediately. It was spur of the moment and he had to move with haste. It seems there was some sort of emergency near the entrance to the village. For this task they called out Bruinetto specifically for what they described was his meticulous eye for detail, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. Recently after having been enlisted for a mission which involved him purifying a local reservoir after finding out the source of contagion it seemed to have focused some attention onto him. While he was flattered that they recruited him for a mission based on his intellect he wasn't exactly sure how it was going to apply. The information given to him was vague at the time and he was supposedly meant to rendezvous with an ANBU with the codename “Karasu” at the village gate. Reaching the rendezvous point off in the distance he peered to see a cloaked figure wearing a mask that resembled a crow. Code name Karasu, with the mask of a crow. How cliched for the code name to match the animal on the mask. Regardless as he walked closed there was a section that had been closed off with cautionary type indicating some type of crime scene.

“Jenosaido Bruinetto I presume? Sorry to call you on such short notice. What we have here, is a murder scene. Recently, there was a disturbance called in on the head set. By the time we got here it was too late however. Somebody had managed to break through our line of defense and escape. The way they died seems quite peculiar though. If we can figure out the method of their death we may have a lead onto who was capable of force exiting in such a way. I will leave you alone for now. Contact me on the radio if you come up with anything..”
Disappearing in a burst of smoke the ANBU thematically left him behind. With a soft sigh he turned to the murder scene. “Those ANBU always have a flair for the dramatic. Then again, so do I.. perhaps I should have been an ANBU. Nah, that's not really my thing. Tangent thoughts! I need to get to work.”

Heading over towards the bodies he would examine the wounds to their bodies. Realizing that looking over dead bodies was more than likely the job of a medical ninja he wondered why they didn't enlist a coroner for such a thing. Perhaps an autopsy was going to take more time than they were willing to give. Every second that went by their target was getting further and further from the village. Looking over their armor however he would notice slight indentations. There were no tears or serrations in the armor so on a preliminary guess he would be willing to believe that this was the result of a blunt force weapon. Leaning in closer he would notice something strange on the ground surrounding the area. Running his finger along the ground a strange residue would be felt on his finger. This residue wasn't like anything naturally occurring in the area. It more than likely was some type of aerosol poison which overtime had transitions from a gaseous form into a liquid form. Aerosol poison was not a common tool to be used amongst shinobi as they often used liquid poison placed on their weapons. Had the poison been spilled from a vial it would had created more of a puddle as opposed to a thin barely visible coating. The only type of shinobi that had a tendency to use aerosol poisons were generally, were puppeteers.

Suddenly his mind began to flash as began to examine the surrounding area. Overlooking what would have been the battle ground he started to notice tiny semblances of wood. There were splinters and saw dust scattered all over the place. Due to the color of it, it almost blended in with the natural rock face. The one who planned this specifically treated the wood for their puppet to have this kind of color. Taking this into consideration either this puppet had been specially crafted by an artisan, or this puppeteer was a specialist. Pressing his hand against the com link he would contact the ANBU. “Karasu, I think I have your lead. The shinobi who attacked the gates, was more than likely a puppeteer. Check in with local artisans to see if any special puppets were ordered lately. Specifically with treated wood to provide camoflauge caves. If that doesn't turn up any leads I think there should be someone in the community who knows of a puppet specialist who would be capable of crafting such a puppet for themselves. With whatever list you have if you cross reference that with those who have not been seen home or are not listed as having reported in with headquarters you have your man, or woman.”

It didn't take long before their search got a hit when Karasu would respond in person. Appearing in a burst of smoke he would press his hands together performing a hand seal. A small dog would emerge yapping happily looking over to Bruinetto. “The name of the target is Shokunin Meijin or the Kotta Clan. They reported him missing a few days ago and he hasn't reported for his weekly missions. The target is of your calibur and we would like you to track him down.” Quickly Bruinetto rebutted, “You want me to track down a missing nin. Isn't that job of a hunter specialist? Specifically an ANBU like yourself?” Karasu being a blank slate with his mask on shook his head. “I am specifically a guard of the village. All of our hunters are currently on mission tracking down higher priority targets. You are here now. Here is all his information. My friend here, Yukai will guide you. He's already been branded with his scent. Go before he gets too far. You will be paid for two missions for your troubles..” Sighing slightly at this troublesome development he looked down to the happy puppy who eagerly stared up to him. “...Fine.”

With that, Bruinetto accepted another mission and was on his way to track Shokunin Meijin.
