Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

***~~~---Genin Chronicles Day 6---~~~***

Their eyes stared out at nothing and Shiroike's eyes were fixed on them. The monument to the previous Hokage's were magnificent, something only those who had mastered the art of earth jutsu could create, or perhaps a sculptor with a lot of time. Shiroike was here to burn their images into his mind. He knew the stories of each of them but it helped him visualize how they would have moved and done what they did to look at their faces.

There was much he read into those faces. The face of the first reminded him of the stories told about his final conviction, when the samurai invaded Leaf and how the first Hokage fought them. The tales were told of his bravery when the village needed it the most, but other tales told of someone who normally didn't take things too seriously. Shiroike found it interesting how someone who had been thought of previously as so carefree could show his true nature when most under threat. People would have thought that he would have left to save his own life, but instead he fought for them. Perhaps that was why the expression on the first's face was serious, unlike how his nature had been defined for the majority of his life, his true nature was found and now was etched in stone.

Shiroike wondered what his true nature would be like when he was placed under that pressure, when a time came where he had to come through and force him to make a choice, what would his choice be?

Behind his thick dark sunglasses which helped him see in this light, he stood there staring and dreaming.

The day had a nice, cool breeze. It was one of her very rare days off where she could act like a girl; a freedom only offered from joining the shinobi academy. Her labors at the Shrine took up a lot of her time, robbing her of her freedom to go out and have friends or even just enjoying the wind upon her face. Joining the Academy gave her these pleasures as the excuse of going to class was now something she could use to escape the chains that bound her: the duties to the Shrine.

Something called to her to ascend up towards the mountain containing the faces of the Hokage. Space was available for others for when the title of the strongest shinobi is to be passed on to the next generation. Kaori was dressed in her usual Shrine Maiden clothing, also wearing large red ribbons in her hair to obscure the vision of the horns upon her head. As she ascended the mountain, she noticed a boy sitting and staring at the stone-carved faces. A hand was placed on the side of her face, holding down the ribbon from flying up by the wind.

"Pretty cool, huh?" she asked the lone boy that was seated. Without asking for permission, she took a seat directly next to Shiroike. She sat with her knees pressed up against her chest with her arms over her knees. The breeze blew once more as the smell of jasmines came from the girl, wafting in the boy's direction. She glanced at the mountain for a brief moment before speaking, keeping her attention towards the monument.

"This mountain is for the strongest of us and those that protected us. Makes you wish that you'd be remembered for all time, doesn't it?" she asked before turning to look towards Shiro with a bright smile upon her face. Her long lavender hair blew gently in the wind, forcing her to move her hand up to the side of her head once again to stop her horns from being exposed to the stranger.

"My name is Kaori, what's yours?" she asked with the same radiant smile upon her face, having tilted her head inquisitively. She wasn't aware that the mere act of doing this could be seen as coquettish or 'moe'. This is just what felt natural to her.

Hakuren was moving up the ranks; moving from Anbu captain to sennin. She was nearing her goal towards becoming the next Hokage. Once every week she walks up to the mountains to have an audience with the leaders of the past. She came to stare at the faces of kage’s past and feels as they stare back at her. Those unblinking eyes almost seem to stare into her soul and she likes to come here to symbolically see where she stands in their eyes.

Hakuren was also a priestess and also was wearing a uniform similar to Kaori’s. She too had an appendage that she would rather not be known that she had, though unlike Kaori's horns Hakuren's was a bit more easy to hide. There were a few shrines that exists in Leaf. Hakuren’s focus on the search of enlightenment and the deities to the shrine are Tenko. Tenko are a type of kitsune. They are celestial foxes, kitsune that found divinity. Hakuren would likely think nothing of the girl’s horns for her god’s blood, though diluted, runs through her veins.

She respectfully bows to each face carved on the mountain before addressing the students that were already there. It was not to unusual to see kids there age at such a place. Most of her curiosity was only towards the one. Hoever introductions would first be inoder. “Greetings My name is Yamanaka Hakuren. I’m one of the villages newly appointed Sennin. It’s nice to see such youths paying their respects to the previous hokage’s.

Strangely dressed and friendly was the girl who approached him. He turned his head towards her as she spoke and listened to what she had to say. He'd only been a Genin for less than a week and so had done very little in his time so far. Just more interesting training sessions and at least he got to do them outside now and sometimes even against other trainees, this was the first time he'd been at a public place on his own and so was also the first time he'd been approached by anyone.

This challenged his ability to reply at first. Then she asked him a question which made it easier. He stood and bowed politely towards her as the books had told him to do when introducing oneself to another My name is Shiroike. after this he stood and moved back to where he'd been sitting.

I didn't think about it as being remembered for all time. I thought of it as a way for us to remember the hardest moments in our history. He said in reply to what she had said earlier. The tales that are told are always the ones where the most people died or nearly died. I would rather be forgotten and have prevented those events from being needed to be remembered.

Another person arrived and he stood again and bowed to this older woman Hello, my name is Shiroike. The bench they were sitting on was a size for two adults so the two children had fit on there easily but wouldn't be so easy for two and an adult Please take my seat and be comfortable. He said and stepped away from the seat.

Shiroike hadn't really noticed their peculiarities. Not that he didn't see them, but that there were so many people with so many differences about them. Also as he had grown up with white hair and red eyes in a clan which had black hair and dark eyes he tended to avoid looking at people and noticing anything unusual about them. He didn't like having his strangeness pointed out and so he assumed that this was the same for everyone.

Sadly, what Shiroike said was sad, but true. The stories that are handed down, at least in warrior cultures like that of the shinobi, are always stories involving bloodshed and death. Happy stories of triumph and peace were outside of their grasp -- something absolutely foreign to the idea of shinobi. A grim look came across Kaori's face, causing her to turn her head away. Her eyes shifted away from the boy for a moment and a sigh was expelled. "Yeah, sad isn't it?" she stated, keeping her head turned away for a brief moment before turning back to look towards Shiro with a bright smile upon her face. "But I like the idea of immortality, even after death, a lot more," she with a cheerful tone.

As she turned her head to look back towards Shiroike, she caught a glimpse of another woman paying her respects to the statues. The thing that stood out the most was the woman's shrine garbs. Kaori, being as sheltered as she was, had no idea of there being other Shrines outside of the Dragon Shrine that she was responsible to. The fact that there were other shrines interested her but also mortified her.
Examining other shrines may upset the Great Dragon and thus another blight would be placed upon her. The last time she began to doubt the Great Dragon, her best friend was stricken with an incurable malady (leukemia).

Out of respect, Kaori bowed deeply to the senior of the shrine maiden. As she introduced herself, a word stuck out to her. Sennin.
What did this word mean? Kaori knew of the Hokage because they were the symbol of the village, but anything other than that was a new concept for her; her sheltered life striking once again. She stood straight up and hand her hands properly folded at the wrists in front of her.
Apparently the title of Sennin was an important one and she was taught to treat those that outranked her with respect; even if they didn't deserve it. "My name is Tenkawa Kaori of the Great Dragon Shrine. It's a pleasure meeting you, Miss Hakuren," she said bowing her head slightly upon expressing her salutations to the newly appointed Sennin.

Her eyes drifted towards the statues as a gust of wind blew forcing her to move her hands up to her ribbons, holding them down. her hair flew near freely in the wind. "Well, it is a nice view and they are people you'd want to be some day, right? People that are loved and admired for their strength and ability to protect others. People that actually matter," she said before turning to look back towards Hakuren with a smile upon her face and nodded. As the wind died down, she lowered her hands back down to her side.

Kaori moved her hands back behind her back, lacing her fingers together. "So, um, what brought the two of you here?" she asked as she coquettishly tilted her head to the side.

Hakuren raises a hand and shakes her head towards the boy. “No, no I’m fine.” It was a nice gestor and she did appreciate it, but refuses the boys offer the give his seat to her.

“Dragon?” Could it possibly be? Could there be another shrine that has the twelve guardians like her. Hakuren has eleven sisters. Her and her siblings are all represented by a zodiac sign to which they are born to. Each sibling has an animalistic form which they can take that corresponds with their zodiac animal. Hakuren was born during the year of the Dragon. However as she reflects on the working of her own shrine she then took notice that the girl said The Great Dragon Priestess. The use of the great probably meant that the deity to the shrine was a dragon. “Then perhaps you and I have some things in common. I am one of the twelve guardians of my shrine that represent the signs of the zodiac.” Hakuren activates her name of the rose jutsu and transforms.

In her new form Hakuren had wings like an angel and when she was first came into view she had them stretched out wide and they looked to be like veils of pure fire. Plumage of red, orange and yellow adorn her wings. The feathers shimmered in the light like a flickering flame. Her feathers were unique, though they looked like a birds upon closer inspection one would see not tiny little hairs sprouting from the stem but scales like that of a reptile. The scales were light but durable and were in a sense the armor to her wings. The wings however were not her only animalistic appendage she possessed. Behind her was a tail that was serpentine with yellow and orange fur stemming from its tip like a fine paintbrush. Its scales were like that of her wings. Her scales cover her arms, legs and clawed feet. Her face only has a freckle like splattering of scales on an otherwise normal human face. The few glimpses of exposed skin are pale as if never seen the light of the sun. Her eyes are pure crimson, save for a black slit in the center, and a pair of thick draconic horns sprout from her forehead, arcing over her ruby-colored hair to point behind her. A halo of flower floats above her head like she would normally in a Name of the Rose. Hakuren still wears her priestess outfit, but it seems to have been modified to accompany her new appendages in the transformation. “I am the dragon guardian.” Normally she would have said she was the dragon of her shrine, but sometimes seeing is believing.

Refused, he remained standing as he felt it impolite to sit when someone else was standing but this was also something born from feeling uncomfortable. Both of the other two had fancy titles to be able to share with each other but Shiroike was just Shiroike. He closed his mouth and stood there looking at each of them as they spoke. It seemed as though Sennin Hakuren was quite interested in the temple that Kaori was part of and mentioned her own role within another temple which seemed to feature similar creatures as deities.

He remained silent as the conversation continued and wasn't sure if he should leave so that they could enjoy their conversation without him maybe being a nuisance and making them feel bad about leaving him out of the conversation.

New information was fed to Kaori about the 12 zodiacs and a shrine dedicated to them; the shrine that the Sennin of Leaf belonged to. The more she spoke about the Shrine of the Zodiac, the more intrigued she got. All of a sudden, as Kaori began to ponder the idea of the 12 zodiacs, the Sennin transformed into a different shape. Wings of fire spread out. Her eyes had fixated upon the wings and she reached out towards Shiroike and grabbed him by his shirt, keeping her eyes firmly upon the Sennin. "Do you see that, Shiro-kun? She just transformed! That's so cool!" Kaori said in utter excitement. There was a glint in her eyes; one of excitement and one of anticipation. Was this the true power of the shinobi or was this something that only Hakuren could do due to her belief in her gods? As her transformation finished, more of her draconic appearance came into view.

She was the Dragon Guardian. Something she never thought she'd see with her own eyes, but it was really here. Sadly, this revelation only proved to strengthen her resolve with the Shrine; one that she doesn't fully believe is real. Her resolve with the belief of Dragons would prove quite damning as the words spoken by her mother, the words that cut into her in relation to Mina's death, would be strengthened. The story that her wavering belief in the Great Dragon lead to the death of her best friend now felt real. However, the feelings of pure grief were pushed aside in exchange for the awe she was in.

Just because she displayed her draconic appearance doesn't mean that she would follow suit and show her horns. No. These people were still strangers and she didn't completely trust these people. She shook Shiroike once again by the little bit of shirt she had a hold of. "Can you transform like that, Shiro-kun?" She asked as she turned to look at him, the look of elation plainly evident in her eyes. She looked at him for a bit too long before realizing that she had a hold of him. With a little 'Eeep!' she let go of Shiroike and stepped back, bowing to him and apologizing profusely.

Hakuren gives a small chuckle at the little priestess’ reaction. She was glad to see the girl was impressed with her transformation. Hakuren was quite proud of this form though she doesn’t use it often outside of battle. Within battle this form served to be quite the boon for it allows her to withstand even the strongest of onslaughts. “I’m afraid transformations like might is quite rare.” Hakuren highly doubts that the boy had any special transformation. The boy was still quite young, but perhaps in time he will learn an ability as impressive as hers. Hakuren folds her wings into what looks to be a long flowing feathery cape. Since the boy was continuing to stand despite her refusal, she gives up and takes a seat. “So what rank are you two? Students? Genin? Civilians?”

"Shiro-kun?" she asked as she tilted her head towards the boy, curious about his lack of responding. Her attention turned back towards Hakuren and the fact that people's transformations, including her's, was quite rare was a bit saddening. Perhaps people can be super strong without the need of turning into a super-bad-ass creature; people like Yume-sensei. Not only was Yume-sensei the strongest person she knew, but she was also the most beautiful person she had ever met. This, however, was only due to her lack of experience with the world and not having really met many people in the shinobi world. Clearly Kaori needed to get out more.

"Well, isn't that unfortunate," she said with a smile upon her face. Oh well, with the more things she sees the more she will know about this world. The seat that Shiro had given up was replaced by Hakuren and a question was asked in her direction. She placed both of her hands upon her knees and perked up. "I'm in the Academy right now!
I'm actually almost ready to graduate soon!
" she said with excitement in her voice.

"You mentioned that you were a Sennin. What's that?" she asked inquisitively, tilting her head to the side. As she said that, a loud rumbling could be heard originating from her stomach. A blush came over the girl's face. "Sorry about that," she said embarrassed. She hadn't eaten anything today due to her busy schedule. Even on her days off, she still had responsibilities to maintain.

His hand had been taken and yet he'd not noticed until Kaori squealed and suddenly moved away from him apologizing. Looking at his hand at then at the girl he didn't know what to say or do, so he stood there looking awkward and silent instead. A question had been asked of him but he hadn't responded and he did not know whether he should any more after Hakuren explained that not many people could transform like that. Shiroike certainly could not transform in any way. He didn't even have the eyes of the Uchiha.

Hakuren asked another question of them though wondering what they were in the village. Kaori said that she was still in the academy but was likely to be in the next graduation class. That would be exciting for her. The memory of his graduation was still fresh and his attention to the conversation had been brought back by Kaori saying his name. This is the sixth day of my being a Genin. he answered I'm not very good though and I think that most of the students who are looking to graduate are probably stronger than me. Bright lights hurt my eyes you see so I have to wear sunglasses almost all the time and my skin get burned easily too so during outdoor training days I was told to continue to practice inside by myself.

Shiroike shrugged as he looked at the other two. Only a few days ago had he first experienced spending time outside in a competitive environment with others and he had been proven to be quite weak. It was the first time he'd been able to test himself against others and he had gone into it thinking that he was maybe able to compete. The training they had received at the academy which he'd been unable to take part in had given them not just an edge but a massive gap in skill and endurance. Shiroike had a lot of ground to make up.

After his answer though Kaori asked a question as to what a Sennin was. Shiroike thought it was a title given to the strongest in the village, a title which also granted power of authority to that person but that in some cases they were not officially in charge of anything. He did not know though for sure but remembered being taught something like this when he was at the academy. It would be interesting for him to see what it was that the experienced members of the village would answer the question though as all he had been taught came from books which were not a good replacement to experience.

“By yourself?” Hakuren asked the genin, unsure if she was interoperating his words wrong. To train by one’s self does not sound very productive. In fact if one would want to train in the illusionary arts of genjutsu it would be impossible without some kind of partner. “If you are feeling unsure about your abilities. I could tutor you a little.” Hakuren was a little bit concerned about this one and feels like he may need some help keeping up with the rest of his rank.

Thinking about rank, the young priestess asks a question that Hakuren was not expecting. However considering that she is still a student, it's not too surprising. "The shinobi ranks our as followed: at the very bottom we have the Genin. Though students can do some minor missions, you are not truly considered a shinobi until you graduate." It was the hard truth of the matter, despite many students believing otherwise. "After Genin is Chunin, then Jounin, then High Jounin, then Sennin and then finally Kage." Of course those were the ranks of the main branch. The other branches are the same just with different names.

Suddenly there was a roar like that of an angry bear. Wait no it was just the little girl’s hungry tummy and Hakuren wonders if she had the stomach of a dragon. Hakuren lets out a small chuckle at the idea. “Often missions would require you to travel long distances. In which case you have two options: pack enough provisions for the trip or eat off the land. Either way you are going to need to learn how to cook. Interested?”

If anyone knew about self-training, and could sympathize with Shiroike's plight, it was Kaori. Coffee-sensei has her on a strict regimen (which he calls 'homework') consisting of 1000 punches, 10 laps around the academy, 30 minutes of stretching, and a bunch of kicks (which she fluffs anyway due to her lack of flexibility). That is all to be done before or after her lesson with Coffee-sensei, which is also after academy class. While it did suck, her form is starting to come together. All she really needed though was practical training. She planned on meeting with Yume-sensei this friday. The excitement of seeing her made her blood quickly rush through her veins.

She walked up to Shiroike and slapped him upon the back all chummy-like. She laughed a bit and nodded her head. "I'll train with you,
Shiro-kun! Coffee-sensei said I did need a bit more practical study when it comes to fighting, so how about it?
" she said with a big smile upon her face. It was strange that Shiroike seemed so shy. One thing she did learn about the boy though was his aversion to sunlight, hence the shades he wore upon his face. It also explained his extremely pale skin. Could the boy suffer from albinism? That question remained unanswered as that wasn't quite the question she'd normally ask.

The feeling of hunger continued to rage within her body as Hakuren explained what a sennin was. So it is treated as yet another rank in the village; aside from being a Genin, Chuunin, or Jounin, there were ranks like Sennin and Hokage. While she could see herself becoming, at the very least, a chuunin ranked shinobi; there was no realistic or probable means of her reaching a rank like Sennin or Hokage -- but it would certainly be nice to reach for the stars like that. However, she planned on getting as high as she could, hoping that Mina would be proud of her.

Packing or hunting/gathering seemed to be her only options in a mission, according to Hakuren. Well, seeing that she doesn't know much about hunting nor does she know what foods are capable of being gathered, that only resorted her to packing. Perhaps hunting will become a more refined skill when she gains more practice with her S20A "Gallian" rifle that stood as tall as she. Hakuren offered to teach Kaori and Shiroike how to cook. Turning her eyes towards Shiroike, she smiled and nodded to him. "C'mon! Let's do it! It'll be fun~" she said to the boy before turning her attention back to Hakuren.

"Of course! If that's a skill I need to become a good shinobi, please teach me!"

A smile crossed his face as both those with him offered him aid. One in the form as sensei, the other as someone who would practice with him. The slap on his back though knocked some of the wind out of his lungs and he gasped. He was weak in body another aspect of his condition and lack of training created.

Knowing that he needed both a sensei and someone to train with he looked to Hakuren and bowed his head Please, I would be honored to train under you and would be honored if you would also train Kaori with me. After speaking he would remain in his bow until his request was accepted.

So far his training had been him in a room, practicing his clone jutsu, transformation jutsu, some basic strikes and that was about it. It was on the basis of his basic ability to perform these basic jutsu that he had been raised to Genin. If he was to fail at being a shinobi it would be during this stage of training, not as a student.

This was his first real opportunity to receive real training and even though Kaori was a student still he was not silly enough to think that she would not be stronger than he was already. If he could train with her then perhaps he might gain some kind of identity in combat. Currently he did not know whether he should be using Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, Genjutsu or maybe a combination. Once he had an idea on what he needed to best assist Kaori in combat then he could focus on it.

Both of them agreed to her suggestion and it brings a smile to Hakuren’s face. “Good. However before we can learn to cook we must first learn how to gather food." She places a couple of fingers into her mouth and gives a loud whistle. Soon an assortment of animals would coming running towards her. Hakuren had a sister that was born blind: to overcome her blindness she possess animals and views the world through their eyes. She has repeatedly possessed her pet many times on a daily basis, so much so that it she has created a telepathic link with them. These were a few of her sisters pets and were not to be eaten. Among the critters was a wolf, a rabbit and a squirrel. “These little guys will be your teachers.”

Hakuren’s father use to tell her back when she was young and exploring her Yamanaka powers, ‘to enter into an entity is to know an entity. Through watching through its eyes and experiencing life as it does, you will begin to understand the nature of its existence.’ The Yamanaka clan have a unique ability to expel their soul from their own body and possess another. The target may be human, animal or otherwise; it does not matter. The animals of Kanoha were her teachers. They taught her to hunt, to hide, to fight, to avoid and many other things. However animals are not the only teachers. As a summoner Hakuren can create entities for the element such as fire or earth. Through possessing such creatures she has learned the nature of the elements themselves. Mother Nature truly is the best teacher. “I want you to observer as they hunt for food.” True these kids will not be able to learn quite the same way as Hakuren, but she believes it will be close enough.

She turned a smile to Shiroike, as he wanted to train with her as well. The thoughts were shared between the two as she, also, wouldn't mind training with Shiroike. The more people she got to meet during her time in the ninja-world and away from the Shrine, the better. Even with her change of heart to following Mina's dream, she noticed her world started to expand and the population of this world grew more and more. She got to know people as people instead of simply people visiting the Shrine as spectators. Nobody that visited the Shrine thought much of what her family held in their beliefs, blowing it off as ancient superstition, but what the Tenkawa Family believed they felt was real. They believed the Great Dragon was a real creature in spite of the rest of the world thinking they were just fairy tales.

However, it seemed that Hakuren was a traditionalist and said that before they can learn to cook, they should learn how to gather the food. Which made sense especially if, later on, she needed food out in the field and all of the rations were gone. If that happened, she'd need to gather food from the land to feed herself and her partners. She had a basic understanding of hunting with her rifle so hunting wasn't a problem. It was more that she needed help identifying which plants were safe to eat. The last thing she'd want to do is need food and eat something poisonous and die; that'd be an awful way for a story to end.

A loud whistle came from Hakuren before an assortment of animals spilled forth from the aether to join the trio. She looked on in amazement and turned to look towards Shiro. "That is super cool, isn't it, Shiro-kun?" It was then that their objective was to watch the creatures hunt. She turned her eyes towards the animals and smiled to them. "Thank you for taking time to teach us. We will pay close attention, so teach us well, please."

“Okay first up Tsubasa.” The female wolf gives a bark and begins the hunt. She crawls down low with her body hidden in the tall grass. Her nose presses against the ground as she tracks the scent of her prey. Soon she comes upon a big brown bunny chewing on some grass seed. Tsubasa’s tail lowers below grass level and she begins circling the rabbit like a tiger. The rabbit lifts its head noticing the movement of the grass. Tsubasa stops and stays perfectly still. The rabbit, not seeing or hearing anything, goes back to eating his seed. Tsubasa them pounces and attempts to grab the rodent, but it slips from her grasp. The vermin runs away for its life, but Tsubasa was quicker. She stealthily circles ahead of the rabbit’s path. The rabbit stops thinking that it lost the predator after it. Tsubasa gets ready to jump again and this time nabs the furry animal. Tsubasa held the creature by the nap of the neck like a pup and the thing struggled in it’s hold.

The first thing on the agenda is to follow the wolf named Tsubasa. Kaori waved towards Hakuren with a smile and started to follow the wolf, keeping enough distance behind the creature as to not interrupt it's hunt or get in it's way. She observed from the back as it pressed her nose into the ground to find a scent to follow. Naturally, due to Kaori being human (well, at least she believes she's human - others might think she's a monster, but that's a story for another time) she wouldn't be able to pick up a creature's scent. So 100% animal mimicry is completely out of the question.

She followed behind before a rabbit was seen eating some grass. Kaori hid, trying not to make herself known to the rabbit. As it approached, it's stance got lower and lower, even lowering it's tail as to not act as a beacon to draw attention to itself. There was a moment of stillness as the rabbit seemed to be on high alert, as if waiting to hear or see something. Patience seemed to be key for stalking prey. In terms of hunting, Kaori never actually stalked prey. She'd spend hours and hours in an inconspicuous place and just waited. She'd normally wait for the right time and then struck with less than precise attacks.

After a moment, Tsubasa lunged at the creature only for it to run away. She made herself known to the creatures and started to run towards them to follow. She had stopped dead in her tracks as she saw the wolf circle around and cut it off, stopping it's path of exit. With yet another leap, the wolf grabbed the rabbit and held it by the back of it's neck. She might not have seen much, but she did take away quite a bit of information from this. The idea of using stealth, pursuit angles, and quick strikes. While this isn't Kaori's favored method, it might be something that'll come in handy some day.

She approached the wolf and smiled at the creature. "You did a good job! I thought Mister Rabbit would have escaped but you jumped up and grabbed it!" she said with a little clap of her hands. "You've gotta be a skilled hunter, Tsubasa! Thank you for the lesson," she said as she took a bow to the wolf and then started to make her way back to the Sennin.

"Tsubasa was so cool! She was quiet and sneaky and then pow! She jumped towards the rabbit, but the rabbit got away. Tsubasa decided to go 'ZOOOOM' around and cut off the rabbit's advance and POW! Another jump and BAM! Tsubasa got the rabbit!"

“Okay Tsuki your…” Hakuren turns around to see that her cute white rabbit was no longer there to be found. The squirrel seems to have ran off as well. “Up?” Unknown to her the rabbit saw what the wolf was bringing back for dinner and decided to high tail it out of there. Seeing the rabbit flea for its life, the squirrel also decided to get going while the going was good. “Well son of a bitch.” Immediately after saying those words a hand covers her mouth as she realizes that she just cursed in front of a student. Clearing her throat as an attempt to hide her rudeness. “Okay note to self: next time have predator go last.” This was a little bit of a setback on her plans. She now had to skip to her least favorite part of the lesson. “Since the other two seemed to have disappeared on me, we will continue to the next part. Some may say this is the hardest part about hunting. As I’m sure you noticed, Tsubasa captured the bunny alive. That is because it is going to be your job to kill it.” The wolf walks up to Kaori was animal in maw. Once Kaori takes hold of it Tsubasa would let go. “As a shinobi you will likely be asked to take a life at some point in your career.”

As she arrived with the wolf, she noticed the other two animals she saw earlier weren't there. Hopefully the rabbit that the wolf captured wasn't the one that was here a moment ago. And then a curse word came from Hakuren's mouth and Kaori just tilted her head in confusion. She had never heard that word before so the word was a complete mystery to her. She was neither offended nor scared of the word. But it was something she learned today; other than hunting for small game. Proactively hunting seemed a LOT more efficient than just waiting for the right opportunity to strike.

Kaori's confused look lingered for a while longer before "Bitch. Sunovabitch. Bitch. Bitch. What does 'bitch' mean?" she asked inquisitively. Almost as if brushing off the word, she was commanded to kill the animal. Well, it was a hunted creature and eating was something that was going to happen. If this was for the hunt and for the meal, she had no problems killing the animal. However, if it was an unnecessary kill or was a kill for sport, she would have none of that.

She grabbed the bunny by the ears and moved it away from her body as it flailed around, kicking with it's rear legs. Rabbits had a bad habit of breaking their legs if it meant escaping from a terrible fate. She looked at the bunny for a moment before glancing back at Hakuren. "Um. Do you have a knife?" She knew how to kill a rabbit humanely. One just takes a knife to their throat and tear outward. The loss of oxygen and blood simultaneously makes death come even quicker. She had no knowledge of how to finish off a kill with any other method.
