Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

A flier ripples dangerously on the brink of giving away to the zephyrs barreling through the academy grounds, miraculously the sheet of paper stubborn as the author who penned the message.

Do you believe you can walk on water?

An interactive learning session with a guest lecturer detailing the significance of chakra control and ultimately the understanding of the shinobi technique water walking. For all those interested, please arrive on time in the back courtyard where the pond is located by six-thirty in the morning!

The dawn brought a plethora of mysteries through Konohagakure, an early mist remissness of a distant land where fog prevailed; however this morning would be not so heartfelt. Crouched before the still academy body of water, the Medical Sennin Tsukasa Mikasa can be found dipping her fingertips into the frigid waters. Despite the Spring weather, with the aid of another shinobi, the kunoichi utilized Hyōton jutsu (Ice) to ensure those who fell into the pond would be met with a startle. The method a bit out of character for the Konohagakure superior, yet this would serve as a sink or swim lesson - no pun intended.

Rising to her full height, Mikasa glances over her shoulder, "I wonder how many will arrive late due to the scheduled time?" she ponders in the privacy of thought. Stifling a yawn the platinum mane woman mentally prepares herself for an eventful day; as soon as the lesson reaches a climax would her attention bounce towards the meeting between herself and Minamoto Suyashi. Fortunately, with the recent resurfacing of medical personnel, she were able to laxen and continue her focus on the newer generation of academy students. "I'm willing to bet I will get at least two attendees." she murmurs towards herself, although that may have been wishful thinking on her part.

To say what Asuka had shown him a few days later was disappointing. It'd been cool to see those kind of advanced techniques but he hadn't been able to emulate even one. That light hearted goof was leagues ahead of him -- and all he'd seen her do was go to class, pay attention half as much as him and then go around bugging random people to help her with things they might not even know. It was certainly a motivator in a way but a major let down as well. He'd been working so hard and he'd only just barely been able to pick up some of the basics. Was everyone in his class this far ahead of him? Was there any hope for him to ever get to their level?

That's when Sato had noticed a flier as he was leaving academy for the day. It was promoting a lesson on... water walking?! He remembered how poorly it'd went when Asuka showed it to him and almost pushed it from his mind just from that only to remember -- Asuka was a goof! She had to bug people for help all the time and hadn't taught him squat! He wasn't a bad student, she was a bad teacher and if he wanted to be anywhere near as strong as that Uchiha girl then he'd have to learn what she knew. He made a mental note and hurried home, surprisingly energetic after a busy school day.

That night he had dinner with his mother, talking about his plans for the next morning while barely leaving room in the conversation for her to join. She was only too happy to do so however, both glad and concerned he was still set on being a shinobi. He went to bed early, knowing that he'd need all the rest he could get for the early morning to come. He was so excited that it took ages for him to nod off and when he finally did he woke up a half an hour early, running around to get his things at 5 in the morning and grabbing something to eat before his mother could even wake up properly.

He hurried through the misty streets, only finishing his breakfast halfway to the academy and only slowing down when it was in sight and realized he was out of breathe. It was just a tiny bit early but he didn't want to wipe himself out before the class had even begun. He walked much more slowly onto the academy grounds, remembering that it was to be done at the pond. He was half expecting to see a decent sized class of students waiting there but oddly enough it seemed to be just one woman with pale hair. After a bit of hesitation he walked up, waving one arm at her.

"Excuse me, is this the morning water walking training?"

The streets of Konoha were silent and absent of the usual buzzing of activities, save for the few people who were preparing goods for their booths. It was an early start for the day. Most people would still be sleeping and doing who-knows-what at this point. But a blue-haired boy eagerly ran towards the academy, disturbing the minute silence the streets had enjoyed. He was Shimizu Kaito, a student who had just enrolled in the academy.

"I need to go faster! I'm gonna be late!" his slow run quickly turned into a full-fledged sprint, scattering the dirt with the force behind his steps. The thin but hazy mist fogged up the streets, doubling young Kaito's efforts in perceiving and moving through the path. While he was sprinting, a small object snatched his foot and disturbed his balance. He cushioned his fall with a split-second roll, stopping at set distance away the object. His eyes moved over the object and saw a small branch, hidden by the low mist. "Tripped by a branch... I have to go! I don't have time!" he resumed his sprint towards the academy.

While sprinting, he saw the wide gates of the academy going nearer and nearer. He slid to a stop and entered the academy as if nothing had happened. "Now... Where was I supposed to go again?" he drew out a small sheet of paper which said the following message:
Do you believe you can walk on water?

He sighed, "It's at the courtyard, I hope I'm not late." He moved towards the back of the academy where the courtyard was located. He found a small pond with two figures, a black-haired boy and a woman with platinum hair. He walked up to them and said, "Good Morning!" he stopped near the boy. He echoed the other boy's question, "Is this the water walking learning session?

A Yellow haired lad was walking in the streets of Konoha early in the morning.”I should have gone to bed early yesterday I bet big bro wanted to sleep more than I do” Kaito said while Yawning.”but I did master some new jutsus I guess it was worth the effort” said Kaito to himself when he saw one of his colleagues running in the street in the direction of the academy.”why is he running so fast did something happen?” asked Kaito himself “well I better check it out myself” said Kaito to himself. When he was on his way there he saw another colleague of his running so fast in the mist a small object snatched him and he was unbalanced Kaito was going to talk to him but the boy ran very fast in the direction of the academy.”What is happening in the academy?” Asked Kaito himself in surprise “I should hurry up” said Kaito.at last Kaito has finally arrived to the academy and then he saw a message which said that a guest lecturer is teaching about chakra control in the courtyard “I should go as I have nothing to do the whole day” said Kaito. When he arrived there he saw a blue haired boy,a black haired one and a platinum haired lady.”So did the training start?” Asked Kaito

Two familiar faces appear on the scene of the session to be, although the third unknown to the medical Sennin. Returning her attention to the youngsters, the maiden nods her head lightly, bearing a faint grin on her features, "That is correct, this is the lesson to begin understand chakra control and water walking." Mikasa addresses in a gentle tone. Pivoting about the older woman leans forward to press the flat of her palm on the waters surface, ripples emit from the interaction between flesh and liquid. Frigid, goosebumps raising to the surface of her flesh and only that of a chuckle can be heard in immediate response, "The pond is especially chilly this morning."

Straightening upright, the maiden faces the trio, "Before we begin, allow me to introduce myself properly. I am Tsukasa Mikasa, Medical Sennin of Konohagakure." she chirps, bowing her head respectfully, "Not to worry, this is not a medical lesson!" waving her hands to and fro, although medical personnel went through chakra training on a daily regime; at least specific individuals requiring such. Eying the pair of Kaito's, the Sennin hopes that they were successful with tree climbing through her brief lecture in their previous encounter. "I would like to learn your names, if you three would be so polite to enlighten me."

A pause would ensue, lifting her index into the air she ushers for an interruption, "Also, I wish to know if any of you have found any success in manipulating chakra to aid you in such items as leaping or climbing." the Konoha superior ranking kunoichi inquires. Glancing to her immediate right, the group of students would be able to observe a handful of towels, Mikasa not entirely heartless, "Just in case anyone falls in during the training, I came prepared." she explains with a beaming smile.

After the medical Sennin finished introducing herself and asked us to introduce ourselves Kaito said “I am Sen kaito,an academy student and I have trained before by someone similar to you in appearance and by a jonin in my clan I succeeded in climbing a tree before but it took a lot of training and lessons by the jonin and tips from this individual I mentioned before”

Sato was honestly quiet nervous once he actually got a good look at the teacher for the lesson of today -- and for very different reasons as to why some other senior shinobi had done so in the past. She was a very, very pretty lady. He suddenly felt very silly for asking such an obvious question to her and found his gaze sheepishly pulling away from her as other students soon began to arrive for the lesson. He felt even more foolish as she revealed she was a sennin. What was someone like that doing teaching such basic lessons to academy students? She must be a really caring kind of person. He'd only just met her but Sato felt as if was already adoring this kind of teacher.

When it came to introductions he was a bit hesitant but raised his voice when he finally did so. "M-My name is Tsukada Sato! Thank you very much for coming out to teach us today, Tsukasa-sensei!" He quickly bowed, his face distraught as he kept it down as he realized he's spoken far too loudly and probably came off as a kiss up. He got himself composed again before standing up and continuing.

"I've never tried a chakra control exercise outside of another student trying to teach me water walking. It went... poorly. I-i'm certain I can learn it under you though!"

Shimizu Kaito stepped back and took in the Kunoichi's features. His eyes went wide and his mouth was agape. "You-You were..." he stuttered. He pointed at her and gulped. "You were the woman from before!" he shouted. He ran up to her and bowed. "Thank you for teaching us Sensei!" he said. He straightened up and faced the sennin. "You helped us a lot Sensei," he reported. "I tried to climb trees using chakra but..." He scratched his head and cheekily smiled. "It didn't go well." His body had bruises which came from his mistakes in training. The bruises gave him a bit of pain but he can handle it. "Oh, I forgot. My name is Shimizu Kaito!" He put his hands against his hips. He pointed at the blond-haired student behind him. "We have the same name! Crazy right?"

The duo of Kaito's would prove to be a worthy adversary in regards to labeling the pair properly, a campaign Mikasa was sure to conquer. Gesturing towards the azure hair lad, the Sennin merely grins, "That is correct, Shimizu-kun. You are quite welcome, I enjoy teaching." the maiden assures while turning her attention towards the other Kaito, "Sen-kun, a shinobi should always be observant. I would be surprised if that was one in transformation." she chuckles before walking towards the waters edge. Leaning forward her digits caress against the glass surface, causing ripples to emit and radiate outwards from the point of entry, "Very frigid this morning, would be a shame to bathe within." Mikasa murmurs.

Holding out here hand a thin veil of chakra veils her ivory flesh, "To projects ones chakra is the very foundation of the technique, Tsukada-kun. In the initial stages one must rely on imagery as a source. I generally teach under the impress all is a flowing current, a river. You must allow your chakra to flow outwards and never once gather into a pond." the kunoichi explains in her standard method. "Another method is to visual your chakra creating a cushion between you and the waters surface, a stepping stone." Mikasa iterates, placing her leather boot upon the water to rest on top of another teal veil, "Concentration is required and over time it becomes easier. For now I will escort you three to the middle."

Extending her hand outwards, she motions for the group to not fret the close quarters they would share, "Grab each others hands, form a link, I'll allow my chakra to flow through you." the medical nin explains before trudging off across the pond's surface. Each student would feel a vibrant warmth embrace their frames, a soothing sensation would calm any potential nerves.

When the other Kaito said that she was the one who trained them before Kaito then said excitedly “Oh so you are the one! Sorry I just woke up thanks for training us then”.Mikasa sensei then started explaining how to project our chakra into our body “well it should be easy since I already learned how to climb a tree”said Kaito. He then proceeded to do as the sensei and grabbed his other colleagues hand

This wasn't as intimidating as he thought it'd be. At least not on the surface. Chakra control was something he'd been working on a lot -- in practice. In reality he might not be as good as he'd like to be but that was the whole point of this! He had to perform this perfectly if he was going to get on Asuka's level. If she could do it then he could do it. Of course the presence of other students made it that much more intimidating. He didn't want to make a fool of himself in front of everyone, especially not the nice teacher.

He grabbed onto the blonde Kaito hand, a look of grim determination on his face as he tried to piece together how to do this. Tsukasa-sensei would be helping but they'd learn nothing if she did that the entire time. She probably wanted to walk them out onto the water to show them the process before letting go to see if they could do it. And that water looked cold... He gulped, not letting his determination waver as he held onto the next student's hand tighter and got ready to move across the water.

Shimizu Kaito followed Mikasa-sensei's instructions and held his fellow students' hands. Sato's hand grasped his, earning him a look from Kaito. Sato's face looked a bit stiff but determined and the other Kaito was excited. "Tsukada-san, Sen-san" Kaito called out. He tightly gripped both of his companions' hands. "Don't worry. Sensei will catch us if we fall." He winked at Mikasa-sensei. "Right sensei?" Then he glared at the water as if it was the bane of his existance. "Cold water... I hope we don't fall in it."

With the trio following in her wake, Mikasa arrives within the center of the pond with company in toe. The Medical Sennin mischievously grins towards the unsuspecting academy students, "Not to worry, Sen-kun, I didn't take any offense." a brief pause, her gaze settling against the water, "It is frigid, I pray for your success that you do not have to experience the waters below. I will not be catching you." she murmurs in a tender tone, "However not all are able to stay buoyant in there initial attempts." explains before loosening her grip ever so slightly, "Here is your fair warning, ready yourselves for within fifteen seconds I am letting go completely." the maidens grin widens significantly, a true sink or swim lesson would dawn upon the trio within a matter of moments.

"Do not panic, free your mind. Allow your chakra to act as a cushion on where you stand." Mikasa reiterates one last time before releasing her clutch upon the initial student who took her hand. With a hop, skip, and a bounce the medical kunoichi separates herself. Clasping her hands behind her back she awaits eagerly for the potential results, although she expected at least two of the three to falter and experience the frozen hell below. Truth to be told, she was not heartless and prepared the blankets on the waters edge with warm beverages - all within sight.

OOC: I wish for you three to roll a random dice of one to three, via the discord or from another source - posting the dice roll. This will make the initial attempts a bit more realistic!

Sato's heart was pumping in his ears as they reached the center of the pond. This was it. It wasn't the deepest or widest pond but that water felt frigid just what little had lapped at his sandals. No way it was that cold just because it was so early in the morning! It felt like it'd been filled with ice cubes! Sato tried to keep a serious look on his face as they finally reached the center only for their sensei to let go of their hands with only a bit of warning. Immediately Sato was struggling to keep the chakra she'd been helping them maintain hold it's form.

He was barely managing to keep his toes above the water when one student faltered and dipped in first. The ripples and waves that shot across the water made him sink down to his ankles, the cold water biting at his skin. As he started to panic he reminded himself he needed to maintain control, closing his eyes tight and performing the tiger seal to try and focus his chakra and concentrate on the water. He was doing everything he could to not go any lower under the water and was actually succeeding, his toes quite nippy but the rest of him staying above for now.

The academy seemed to have almost have a glow around it at dawn, it gave you tingles staring at it sometimes, admiring what it all means. Of course, it loses quite a lot of that meaning when you realise that this specific glow means you’re tardy.

I wonder how late I am, Riku wondered as he jogged towards the academy waters. Admiring the reflection on the still water as he neared it, before a small armada of waves came across it. In the distance Riku saw a few students splashing in the water.

“Didn’t miss much, right?” Riku asked as he reached the group, giving a smile at them in the water, “We’re having swimming lessons today?”

With a questioning gaze, the student reached into his robe and pulled out a torn-up flier to reread what was on today, he’d noticed it flying in the winds as he’d passed, it wasn’t like anyone could read it in the wind anyway, it was best in his hands.

As he moved to talk again, he finally noticed the ‘guest lecturer’ the flier had mentioned. Looking the Sennin up and down before stuffing the flier back into his robe.

Whoops, Riku thought to himself.

Sen Kaito was the initial student to struggle against the weight of understanding, a difficult learning lesson, however the icy waters below would serve as additional motivation to succeed. Reaching her hand outwards does the Medical Sennin clasp tightly around his, forcing her teal chakra upon the dandelion hue lad to surface the student. "Are you awake now?" she inquires with a thin grin, placing her opposing hand on Kato's shoulder to balance him out so that his feet would once more stand on the surface, "Not bad for a first attempt, most struggle with chakra control for a few months." she compliments with a melodic chuckle.

The other Kaito had yet to waver, perhaps concentrating so greatly he may or may not budge from his current predicament. In the distance an ivory hair lad makes his appearance, Mikasa becomes momentarily perplexed at the tardiness, but forgives this only due to wishing to have further interaction between the current generation of students. "Welcome to the swimming lesson." she jests with a widening grin, ushering for the pair she palmed to begin walking towards the the waters edge, allowing for Sen Kaito to wrap himself within the warmth of a blanket. "Tsukada-kun, if you would be so kind, will you explain how chakra flow functions when attempting to walk on water before you two attempt for another round?" the medical kunoichi inquires of the student; although he wouldn't be able to dispute.

Turning her attention to the azure moss head, Mikasa strolls across the rippling surface, halting beside the other student to ensure no harm would befall him. "Sen-kun, Tsukada-kun, when you are done attempt again! Perseverance is key to success!" she calls out with a faint wave of her hand. To have a student explaining to another would prove one of two items, the initial being how closely he were paying attention. Secondly to understand how he would explain to another on equal terms.
Random dice time again, makes for more interesting situations!

It wasn't exactly water walking like Tsukasa-sensei had done to get them out on the water but he was managing to get a hang of it. Or at least not sinking down any further. As mean spirited as it might seem he was a bit proud when he saw another student fall under the water, glad to know he wasn't doing badly given the circumstances. He might be able to get a hang of this at the rate he was going. Maybe. Sort of. He was still wobbling and having to concentrate on his chakra output. He still wasn't getting the right level of either to properly stand on the surface, still having his toes soaking and doing everything he could to not tilt as he found his balance.

When the sensei said his name and asked for him to explain the process to the rest of the class he felt his heart start to flutter faster. Not only was he being given attention for being the best performing student in the current class but it came as indirect praise from the beautiful sensei herself. It was almost enough to break his concentration and fall into the water. Almost. He wobbled a bit, almost making a fool of himself right when he'd just gotten all this positive attention. After a few deep breathes he did to best to do what he was asked as he tried to put actions into words.

"You have to concentrate the chakra on your feet like a flotation device. Th-The trick is to try and repel the water very carefully. If you don't apply enough then you'll just sink but if you do too much you'll just throw yourself off the surface and probably fall in the water when you land. It's not easy to find the right chakra balance. Water is kinda funny, it moves and makes you adjust all the time."

Kaito closed his eyes as soon as their sensei let go of their hands. He centered his focus over the control of his chakra, zeroing like a sharp laser focused on a point. His chakra flowed like a river from the center of his body and continued towards his feet. It coated his feet with sticky chakra which made him stay afloat. "Uhh... Sensei?" Kaito shifted his feet from side to side.

"A-Am I doing it right?" he asked as he took a single step forward. He had closed his eyes which meant he couldn't see what was happening around him. ”I...i can feel it my chakra is repelling the water!” the blond-haired boy, Sen Kaito, said with a hint of joy. Unable to contain his own curiosity, the bluenette opened his eyes and checked his fellow student's progress. "Woah... You're doing it." Kaito smiled and looked at his own progress. His feet stood against the water's clear surface. It almost looked like they were walking on nothing. "Woah, even I am doing it!" He inched his chakra-coated feet towards the center of their circle and made sure to take baby steps as it was safer and easier. "Sensei! Look! I-I'm doing it!"
