Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The waves were calm on a day like this. It reminded her of one not so very long ago where she once stood on the sands of this beach and greeted her brother after a long day apart. They had been so happy then. A breeze blew by her, shifting her short blue locks as it passed. Kasen raised her hand, moving some of the hair out of her eyes. The tinge of her hair gave her pause. That's right...she no longer looked like him. Would he even recognize her? Many had confused them for twins, but it appeared that would not be the case any longer. It was strange to think that she was practically a different person in every way. She had only been back for a few days, but she knew that this tranquility that she found herself in, one she had allowed herself to stay in for years was about to end. Others would enter her world and she would have to face the consequences of the relationships that withered while she found herself and the peace that now dwelled within her.

She glanced over to the small abode that was her home. Kasen had always preferred Soon's Haven over the inner village any day, which is why they had decided upon building this small beach house about an hour away. She felt closer to the water here and she had never really felt comfortable around others with her uncontrolled bloodlust that could send her into a frenzy at any moment. The bloodlust that came from the unrest that Same felt from within her. Now though she just felt calm. The house that she once shared with Kaen had stood where it had always been, and it still appeared like it had been looked after. It wasn't anything special, just a small dwelling with sturdy white exterior walls surrounded by a wrap around deck, with strong posts that held up the roof that was made primarily out of dried fronds found in the area that now looked like thick straw and wooden support beams. She wasn't sure if Kaen still even lived here anymore. She had climbed the stairs that gave way with a slight squeak from frequent use. The door was locked, but luckily a key remained under the old welcome mat that greeted people in the friendliest of ways,"No soliciting". Kasen rolled her eyes, a small smile on her face. Kasen had wanted the mat that said "Come in, the water's fine" but Kaen insisted that it sent the wrong message to the local surfer population. Under no circumstances were they to frequent their dwelling demanding hospitality simply because a doormat was just a little to cliche in it's greeting. In other words, he would not "Hang ten, shaka brah".

Kasen put the key in the lock, happy to see that it was indeed still the same. Inside it was dark and empty. Despite the outside looking well maintained, the inside felt bare and cold. Everything was fairly the same as she remembered it. The ocean breeze and the smell of the sea salt air could still be smelled from the inside of the small home. She stepped into the living room, and turned on a light. There was simple furniture, some chairs and couches and a coffee table, nothing that spoke of wealth or of complexity, but one that just emitted comfort and a homeliness that she remembers fondly. Kasen noted that a coffee cup filled partially with coffee had been left on the table. She picked it up and had sat a coaster on it. Kaen always forgot, she recalled. The second thing she had noticed was that all the family photos on the wall seemed to be covered up with cloth. She stepped close to them, gently grasping the fabric in her hand and pulling them off. They were photos of the two of them mostly, but the one in the center was always the most important. It was an old torn photo that was of Kaen, Kasen, and their mother. It was the only thing that had left. Kasen noticed that the glass had been shattered. Maybe it was too painful to look at.

The connecting kitchen, though small, was clean and spotless, though there wasn't much interest here. There wasn't much more to the house, seeing as it was a dwelling only meant to accommodate living. Kasen had quietly walked down a long hallway that led to where they bedrooms were, her footsteps quietly echoing small taps as they walked on the hardwood floors. Looking into Kaen's room on the right, everything looked the same as it had always looked. Kaen was a creature of habit after all. Kasen then turned to her room. She hadn't stepped foot in this room for years. She turned the doorknob slowly, and peered in. Her room was almost the opposite of Kaen's. It looked messy and in disarray. Kasen used to stay up late at night working on tinkering projects that she could hardly remember to tidy up when she was done. On her workdesk, Kasen saw that the chair had been pulled out, a photograph of her and Kaen sat straight up staring at her. Kasen sighed, staring at the photograph. This used to sit on her nightstand, but had somehow moved. Kasen thought back to the when Kaen had risked his life to save her from death. Same had freed herself and taken control of Kasen. The look on Kaen's face was one that broke her heart and one that she could never forget. Had Kaen sat in here thinking of her? Had he thought about her since that day? Kasen had thought often of her brother, and the pain he must feel, the loneliness, only made her want to ease his pain and assure him she was alright. Kasen spent the rest of the evening familiarizing herself with the house and straightening up.

That had been when she first arrived back to the home. Now though was several days later. Letters had been sent into the village with direct instructions to be delivered to the proper persons. One letter would be sent to the hospital wishing to reinstate her status as a mednin of the village and inform them of her return. They more than likely would wish to assess her since she had been gone for so long and would need to be cleared before returning to duty. The second letter would be send out to Kaen. She had no idea where he was and it appeared that after several days he would not be immediately be returning to their dwelling. While the first letter was clearly addressed from Kasen, the letter to Kaen would need to be handled more delicately else she was worried he would consider it a fraud. It would simply state that new information on his sister had been found and that he was to return to their home immediately in order to discuss the details. If she knew Kaen like she though it did, it would insight some sort of reaction in him. She just feared what that reaction might be once he got here. She would handle it when the time came.

Today was the day, the day she returned to society. She hoped things would go well. She had prepared refreshments, just some simple tea and cookies, nothing special, but she felt like she hadn't had company besides the waves for so long she needed to be overly hospitable. Taking a seat in one of the chairs on the desk, Kasen stared out at the ocean, watching as the white foam crashed against the sandy shores and the birds called from overhead as the sun shone bright in the sky. What would today bring?

Every time she left the village's walls she had the distinct impression she would not make it back. As the last week had rolled by, she continued to feel her strength ebb and her mind become foggier; yet, she still could not bring herself to reach out for help from anyone. It could be blamed on her parents or her clan as a whole or even on the Storm Lord himself for driving the importance of dignity, pride and honor, but at the end of each day it was she alone who stubbornly refused to reach out

She did not know what she would say or to whom, of course. She could not talk to the Steward, as she looked up to him too much to admit to the series of failures, negligence and poor decisions that brought her to this state of being - her eyes rimmed with dark lines and an increasing gaunt figure. Nor could she mention it to her clan, even the Storm Lord himself, who may have changed his mind about her candidacy. The few others who she might be able to speak on it were forbidden to her, lest she have to reveal even more secrets that she was sworn to uphold. In truth, while she could not bring herself to reach out, she did not know to whom she even could.

None of that mattered for the time being however, as Suzume had another job for the hospital to do. It had been months, and while her initial prospects were high, her progress had slowed and even degraded. Now, instead of being on the track to a full position, she was sent out across the desert to perform a house call on some shinobi who could not be bothered to even live within the confines of the village. Normally this would not have bothered the girl, but after days of making her way through the scorching and freezing dunes, her opinion of the Kasen woman devolved from mild irritation to spite.

She made the journey in decent time, given her state. Afflicted as she was with whatever illness or malady she could not understand, she still had no need to sleep, drink or eat along the way, and so even taking frequent breaks she arrived in a timely manner. Once she did however, she looked like hell. Standing atop the door mat at the entrance of the small building, a dour expression on her face, Suzume looked like she had rolled her way from the village. Her hair was disheveled and filled with sand, as was her customary traveling outfit, loose fitting garbs made for long treks through the hot desert. She glared at the door with an intensity that she did not feel, storm clouds rumbling softly in her foggy mind as she rapt hard on the door with her fist.

She had seen a few pictures from Kasen files before she went, and so she knew what to expect. Once the woman made it to the door, Suzume stared slightly upwards towards her with a hollow expression that spoke of irritation. "Where is Kasen," her tone matching her expression perfectly, though with even less energy. She didn't memorize the picture but she knew the color red from blue, and this obviously did not match the description. If she had traveled half-way across the country on a wild goose chase....

No signature, no return address, just a simple message is all he was given.
Letter addressed to Kaen; said:
Mr. Shinku, there have been new developments concerning the whereabouts of your sister, Kasen. Please return to your beach house immediately to discuss the details.

Had Kaen not had the letter delivered to him during his journey back to the village he would have most likely caused a disturbance. Kaen read the contents slowly, each word akin to ripping off duct tape that your asshole friend stuck on as a joke. As Kaen crushed the light beige colored paper in his fists, so to happened to his heart. It had been so many years since that incident, but not a day went by that he didn't think about it. That was the original reason he decided to leave Sunagakure again, to search for her himself. Like all his other attempts he came up empty-handed and filled with regret.

Flames enveloped his fist, disintegrating the letter to ash. His body began to shake and quiver as thoughts raced in his mind. After all these years the news could only be bad. It was most likely an attempt to steer Kaen away from the village just in case something bad happened, like a Flame Court Ancient going nuclear. That was wise on their part, but unwise to tell him to return to his home, the very place the two of them, Kaen and Kasen, resided. Perhaps they thought he would be more likely to cooperate and not blow anything up just because it was his house. Well, they had another thing coming, cuz the only place he called home was wherever Kasen was.

Slumping to his knees the desert sand would cushion his descent. Kaen felt defeated as tears streamed down his face. After all, what other news could they possibly have aside from finding her dead body somewhere. Kaen couldn't feel her presence anymore, he hadn't since the day she swam away from him on that beach. There was no other explanation. Slowly the ground began to vibrate, tiny pebbles danced across the desert sand. The flames from his hand crept up his arm and started to spread across his body. The ground now visibly shook as the desert sand moved like the ocean. Waves of energy pulsated away with Kaen as the epicenter. At first, it was a low rumble, then a faint growl, but it soon exploded into a roar. "Grrgggrrrrah!" Upon his rage escaping his toothy maw, the desert around him was destroyed. [Using Chimera Implant: World Shatter]

A ripple of violent energy shot outwards across the sands. The immediate area around him was now a dark, shimmering glass, transformed by the devastating emotion fueled outburst. The fire slowly dissipated, but the tears somehow remained. This was it, the moment Kaen would be completely consumed by the fires within. Perhaps this was all part of Mother Suna's plan. Without Kasen in the way, he could finally cast out the only thing that kept him somewhat human, a family bond. As the fires were extinguished Kaen would pick himself up off the now glassy desert surface. No matter how much he didn't want to face this daunting possibility, he still needed to go.

A few days later, coincidentally enough the same day Suzume arrived...

The day would mock the hybrid, it was far too pretty and pleasant to have any sort of good news. Kaen too arrived disgruntled and filled with discontent. From a distance, he would see a young woman approach his house. Kaen did not know this person, nor the person who answered the door. Who in the hell would just occupy somebodies house like that? His bitterness swelled to new heights. Wiping a stray tear away he would gain his composure as best he could and quickly trudge his way across the beach sand towards his house. "Where is Kasen," The first young woman would ask the azule shaded woman at the door. Kaen would interject as he stepped onto the wooden deck that wrapped around the house. "Where is she..." A low, almost snarl escaped his razor-sharp maw. He was in no mood for games, less intruders on his property. Not to mention Kaen looked like he had gone through hell and back. His clothes were ripped, torn, burnt and for the most part mangled. Dried blood, some not his own, were blotted here or there. Fresh, barely healing wounds were littered across his body. His fight with Uri was not an easy one, and this was the first place he came after leaving Lightning Country. But despite his many, obviously painful wounds and general state of being, Kaen remained unwavering. His eyes narrowed, his brow followed suit. His gaze met both of the woman's. His voice grew louder and more impatient. "Well?"

A few hours had passed before Kasen heard a light rapping at the door. She had spent the majority of the morning outside enjoying the fresh breeze and sun before heading inside to spend some time cleaning up the house a bit. It wasn't exactly messy, but Kasen could tell that it just didn't feel very lived in for as well as it had been maintained. Maybe it was too painful for Kaen to be here. She knew it had been painful to be away from here for as long as she was, but everything seemed to happen for a reason. She chose to believe there was a greater purpose to life than just random variables lining up. Her mind didn't linger for long until another, much more insistent banging came and she realized she must have spaced out for a moment.

Kasen quickly made her way to the door, turning the handle and opening it to be met with a rather disgruntled young woman practically staring holes into her. Kasen hadn't interacted with people for quite some time, but last she could recall she didn't do anything unethical lately to warrant such a fierce death glare. She only hoped that Same hadn't done anything. Kasen would have to admit that when she was in control she hadn't always paid the most attention to things that were going on. Suddenly the other woman barked up at her asking about where Kasen was. Kasen smiled, her sharp teeth flashing briefly, although she doubt that it would be received very well. "Hello, you must be the mednin they sent from the village. I hope your travel wasn't too tedious; I know it's quite a long trip. Please, come...."</COLOR><i></i> Kasen trailed off when motion from the corner of her eye caught her attention. Her eyes grew wide as she focused on the quickly approaching figure in the distance. A tall male figure with blazing red hair and looking like he was on a war path was heading right for the house, his eyes reflective of a deep fury and his body beaten, bruised, and burnt like he had just walked out of hell itself. Kasen quickly realized who the figure was as he reached their porch and demanded to know where Kasen was.

Kasen's eyes softened, she stood still, standing at the man that could unmistakably be her brother. He had grown into a handsome man, but she could tell that underneath the outer exterior lay someone just as broken inside as it the skin was outside. The pain he must have suffered...the years had never been kind to him. A single tear escaped from Kasen's eye, making it's way down her face. She could not bring herself to brush it away as she continued to stare at him. "Kaen... There was a tightening in her chest as Kaen glared at her demanding once more for an answer. Instead, Kasen took a step toward him from the doorway."Still not taking care of yourself, I see."<i></i> Kasen would carefully raise her hand, calm and collected. Assuming he didn't step away from her, she could place one of her hands lightly on his chest. The touch would be light and gentle, a small glow emanating from underneath her palm [Using Medical Jutsu - Angelic Blessing]. She would quickly step back, hoping that eased some of his physical pain. Kaen would feel a calming effect coming from the chakra that would flow into him through her as it worked it's way to patching up the deep wounds, perhaps a feint sensation that reflected a time long ago when Kasen's chakra had been unleashed, but it would be hard to tell if he would remember what that sensation was. Kasen barely understood any of it herself, but that had been the day that everything had changed.

Taking a step back, Kasen realized that neither had really gotten the answer that they desired. She didn't know how to explain who she was. They won't believe you if you just come out and say it. Same whispered to her inside her head. Kasen begrudgingly agreed. <COLOR color="#479dff">"Please come inside and have a seat. You've both had a long journey and I have a feeling this is going to be a long conversation." Kasen would turn and head into the house. She wasn't sure if the others would follow, she could only hope that it didn't escalate into something more. It was clearly understood that neither of the two parties that stood on the deck were happy and the tension could practically be cut with a knife. Kasen had moved the cookies to the coffee table in the living room. She had shaped them into little sharks, unable to help herself. It had been so long since she got to use her cookie cutters, or bake anything really. She hadn't had much cravings for foods since her change, but she took delight when she did indulge herself. Kasen also set out a selection of drinks for the newcomer to choose from, grabbed a water for herself, and poured Kaen a couple shots of "fireball" whiskey, since as she could recall, it was his favorite when he decided to go for some of the hard stuff. At the moment, he looked like he needed it to take some of the tension off. Taking a seat herself, she would wait for the others to get situated. "Before we get started, I can assure the both of you that Kasen is fine. It's just...really complicated. She's just...not what you might expect and she's nervous about seeing either of you." It felt odd talking about herself in the third person, but maybe if she could elevate some of the pressure this would go smoother. Kasen waited a moment, placing her hands in her lap and looking intently, assessing how the others would respond.

The disgruntled medical worker felt the urge to comment as the woman began to usher her inside, but both of them were interrupted by the beaten and ravaged man with a threatening growl. Reacting far too slowly, by shinobi standards, Suzume turned around to share her uncomfortable stare with the newcomer. She paused for a moment, her expression lightening to curiosity as she looked up to him. There was something about the man that tugged at her mind, but with her mind as muddled as it was and his appearance just as ragged, it was tracing on the edge of her tongue, but she couldn't quite grasp it.

Too distracted by the red haired man, she did not catch the bulk of the woman's reaction to his presence but the familiar name whip-lashed her attention between the pair for a moment. It took just a second longer, but old and half forgotten memories came back to her as she pieced the name and the face together. Before she could collect her thoughts, the other woman stepped forward, and Suzume took a few half-steps backwards to get from between the two. Even in her condition she still recognized the tell-tale signs of medical ninjutsu with its all too familiar glow. The likelihood that this was the person that she was looking for increased a fair bit, but so did too the chances that it was a foreign imposer. They were on the ocean's edge and it was not inconceivable that a foreign entity could have landed nearby without notice of the village.

Her instructors at the academy might have had a bit of pride for her as she weighed the risks of entering the abode without clear confirmation of the woman's identity. Weak as she was, if she was outside she could make an escape, but if she were to willingly go inside the odds of a lethal ambush increased exponentially. With her in her current state, she knew there was little she could do to put up a fight. The man did not know it, but his presence was the one comforting aspect of this risky situation. Under less irritable circumstance, Suzume would have instantly greeted the man and reintroduced herself, but he looked as irate as she did and knew not to poke the hornet's nest. "Be careful," she muttered as she gestured towards the man to enter after Kasen, only managing to appear irritable and exhausted, rather than overly hostile, which was a mild improvement.

After whatever prodding and nudging it took to have her bodyguard, a position he had served before with satisfactory results, enter the building, Suzume closed and bolted the door behind her. She couldn't recall if it was better or worse to seal the exit, but it would at least give her a second to notice someone else entering the building before they had a chance to ambush them. With the mild precaution in place, she made her way more fully into the building, keeping her eyes open for any sort of trap or ambush, though her attention to such details was woefully lacking. If Kaen did not sense any hostility before she did, she was not likely to come out unscathed. She mad her way over towards the coffee table, but made no motion as she waited for the woman to return.

She placed the cookies down, possibly poisoned, and then fetched drinks for the pair, which also were similarly spiked. Suzume made a dismissive gesture whenever Kasen would look her way with an expectant glance, "I am fine." Again she wanted to say more; to bite out a harsh quip or something that might have worn away some of her own irritation, but she did retain a modicum of respectability in her distrusting irritation. She did not understand why the woman was speaking as if Suzume and Kasen were old friends, the only reason that immediately popped into her head as to why she would be nervous would be that she feared having her disguise seen through. "The letter to the village made no mention of any complications. The missing shinobi wished to be reinstated into the ranks of the village." It was suspicious to be sure, but there were any number of reasonable explanations; Suzume just wasn't thinking of any of those.

"If she is here, have her present herself for her thorough examination," she emphasized the last two words, looking to see if that threw the potential impostor, or their accomplice, off balance.

Tension permeated the air upon his arrival, mere seconds feeling like an eternity for things to get back on track. Though the future was uncertain, thoughts still muddling around in his head. This was the tale of Kaen the gallant and it would continue on. Though times were tough, the storm always grows larger and the sky darker before you can emerge from the ashes changed and reformed. This was the next chapter in Kaen's life. Memories of times past locked away in Cloud's dungeons would slowly fade away with time as new, more important tasks would consume his time. His sister had returned, albeit unknown to him at this moment. The truth was closer than he thought, standing right in front of him in fact...

"Kaen... Still not taking care of yourself, I see."</COLOR><i></i> The azule woman before him would shed a single tear as she took a small step towards the bruised and beaten man. Given his nature and experience Kaen acquired a talent common among most shinobi of tenure, a sense of... well sense. He could feel no intent behind the hand slowly rising up to greet his chest. He could feel his body slowly piecing itself back together as her calming, healing chakra flowed effortlessly throughout his body. Kaen found it difficult to react negatively to this action, in his mind he knew she was only trying to help. Though it was quite dramatic with the crying ordeal, I mean Kaen doesn't even know who this girl was. <COLOR color="#479dff">"Please come inside and have a seat. You've both had a long journey and I have a feeling this is going to be a long conversation." Kaen would eye the woman suspiciously as he agreed to follow her into his own house. As he walked past the other member of this event she would whisper quietly under her breath as Kaen passed. "Be careful..." Though he could feel no malice or hostility from the blue-haired women he would still tread carefully. No doubt this could be a trap set up for him. He didn't exactly leave Lightning Country with a sweet farewell.

The cookies were the first thing he noticed. Did this unknown really just let themselves into his house, baked cookies and made drinks... for them? This was confusing on all levels, but he would still sit and take one. Biting the dorsal fin first he would chew quietly as he watched the woman pour him a large, stiff drink. It was his whiskey... He locked eyes with the woman as she did so, and slowly lifted it up to his nose. Intense aromas of cinnamon invaded his senses. He could not smell any poison, perhaps it was safe. In a single gulp, he would toss the entire glass back and the amber liquid would disappear from sight. Kaen did not notice the other party's disgruntled attitude and manner towards the blue-haired woman.

"Before we get started, I can assure the both of you that Kasen is fine. It's just...really complicated. She's just...not what you might expect and she's nervous about seeing either of you." A single brow would rise at this statement. Suzume would interject quickly. "The letter to the village made no mention of any complications. The missing shinobi wished to be reinstated into the ranks of the village." Kaen shared this other girl's suspicions. Many things were out of place and just generally confusing. If Kasen was here, and fine, then where the hell was she?
"If she is here, have her present herself for her thorough examination." she emphasized the last two words, looking to see if that threw the potential impostor, or their accomplice, off balance.

Without prompt or warning, Kaen would quickly rise from his seat and head towards the bedrooms. [Using Chimera Implant, Particle Disruption] Kaen's body would flicker and glitch in front of their eyes just before he phased through the bedroom wall. In these many years spent apart, he had learned a number of new tricks. Just as quick as he went in, Kaen's body rematerialized through the wall again, a look of distaste and contempt. His brows were furrowed as he walked past the pair of woman sitting in his living/dining room. Into the kitchen he went, and then whatever other small rooms there were. He would yell from down the hall as he made his returning approach. "There is nobody here but us three. As it was said before, present her to us, my patience is running low and I have no time for games or tricks. I did not scour Lightning Country and Wind Country looking for her only to have some jackass fuck with me. You have thirty seconds to explain yourself... Go."

It was becoming increasingly clear that the tension in the room was growing. Things would have been simple if she had been able to deal with them one at a time as she had planned but with the two of them here the problem had escalated very quickly in one that was more complicated. The mednin was losing her patience, for it was clear that she had not wanted to come all the way out here and that she just wanted to get this examination done and leave. Kaen on the other hand continued to have a visible scowl on his face, and she could practically feel him burning holes through her with his gaze. Her heart had tugged a little at that. He never used to look at me like that. I have to make him understand. Kasen placed a single finger to her lips, a thoughtful expression on her face. How does one explain that they are who they do not appear to be? She couldn't exactly write in the letter to the village "Hello, this is Kasen, I've been away from the village. Don't be alarmed though, I look nothing like myself at all." It was a bit of a complex conundrum.

Before she could come up with something, she noticed Kaen stand rather abruptly. He seemed to almost glitch out of reality and disappear behind the wall. "Uh...." What the hell happened to her brother? Kaen could never do that before! When he returned, via the same methods, it seemed his scowl had tripled; something that she did not think would actually be possible. He continued to storm through the house. Kasen could practically feel the heat from his anger flowing off in droves as he stormed back towards them. Kasen gripped the arms of the chair a little more tightly before. I don't remember him being quite so temperamental. Good luck getting out of this one. Same had interjected her, once again, unhelpful commentary. Kasen felt almost like she had as a child when she had been locked in the cages. Although, there was a difference between the guards that had abused them and Kaen's anger. Kaen's anger was out of pain, not from cruelty. Kasen sighed deeply and pinched the bridge of her nose. She could handle this.

Kasen stood slowly. If Kaen was going to blow his top before he let her explain, she was going to quickly put a lid on it. "Sit. Down...please." It would not be said with malice or anger, it would simply be a direct request. She was not afraid of her brother. "If you'll let me explain, yes, there were complications....I can't present her to you....because I am her." Kasen quickly held her palm up, hopefully stopping anyone from quickly interjecting with "but you don't look like her, you imposter!", although she doubted that would really stop anyone if they were impatient enough. "Yes, I don't look like...how I was before. Red eyes, red hair, couldn't possibly be me, right? That's what you're both thinking? But I am me, and Same is still here too. So, shall we begin the examination?" Kasen directed the final question more at the mednin that was present. She was here primarily to assess her skills and condition. Kaen...Kaen was more difficult. Kasen, unwavering, stared directly into his eyes, the ones that used to look much like her own. "Test me however you like, I would expect nothing less, but I will prove to you that I am Kasen." Kasen had a feeling this wasn't going to go smoothly no matter how it went. Better to just let this unfold how it would. But the truth was out there, and she could only hoped that each individual took the time to process it.

"Sit. Down...please."

Kaen chuckled softly, a sneer slapped across his face. It was unfortunate to have let Kasen see this smug, arrogant side of him. The blood of the Flame Court ran strong through his veins. But the truth always comes out in the end, it was only a matter of time before she really knew what Kaen had become in her absence. Kaen, of course, would not comply with the request of a stranger. Or at least from someone who he thought was one. "If you'll let me explain, yes, there were complications....I can't present her to you....because I am her." Kaen's demeanor shifted drastically. From that of anger to confusion and doubt. How could this woman before him be Kasen, she looked nothing like his little sister. That and her chakra was all wrong. It was familiar, but perhaps he'd just met her before and forgotten and that's why it felt familiar.

Before he could speak up and object, Kasen would raise her hand and continue; "Yes, I don't look like...how I was before. Red eyes, red hair, couldn't possibly be me, right? That's what you're both thinking? But I am me, and Same is still here too. So, shall we begin the examination?" Kaen would remain silent upon hearing Same's name. Not many knew about Kasen's secrets, but it was still suspicious and hard to accept. "Test me however you like, I would expect nothing less, but I will prove to you that I am Kasen." Her eyes locked with his own, a feeling of Deja Vu washed over him. Her demeanor was firm and unwavering. He examined her and felt no feelings of ill will or maliciousness. At the very least this woman believed herself to be Kasen. The truth of that was yet to be determined. Kaen's scowl would relax into one of disinterest. "Fine..." Kaen would move towards the front door, stopping as he put his hand on the doorknob. He would not turn back, but they would hear him all the same. "Perform your examination, I'll be on the beach waiting. I have my own test to perform if the preliminary one is somehow passed. Good luck..." His voice was cold, distant even. Deep down he almost hoped this imposter was really his sister. But like all the other inklings of information, cold trails, and many failures, he always came up empty-handed and not another step closer to finding her. The door would close behind them to leave the ladies to their privacy, he would walk towards the lapping waves deep in contemplation.

Despite the fact that the image of disgust had essentially disappeared from Kaen's face, the one of disinterest almost bothered her more. This was Kaen, this was her brother, and all he could do was look at her with such...distance and almost disdain. She understood that she had been gone all this time, and not all of that was her fault, and of course there was the issue of her appearance, but she could remember Kaen having been so....cold. It almost felt inhuman. She hadn't felt this feeling inside her for a very long time. It was one that pulled at the very core of her being, the feeling of dread that makes your whole body feel cold and it's almost as if an out of body experience is happening as senses fade. She couldn't quite thing of the word for such a feeling, but this place she was in with her brother was one that felt so out of touch and disconnected. Even if she still technically needed to have this medical examination and even if she still needed to convince both of these parties that she was who she said she was, something in her would just not leave the matter alone.

As Kaen walked past her and outside, Kasen resisted the urge to grab his arm to stop him, concerned about what might happen if she did. Her brother, while deeply caring and incredibly protective, always had a temper and she could usually reign him back in, but she had a feeling that if she had tried to do that in this situation it would only end badly. Kasen's brows scrunched together in contemplation. She turned back to the mednin, whom at this point was probably more confused and annoyed than anything, and raised her hand with her index finger raised. "Would you excuse me, for just a minute. I'm afraid the examination may have to wait, this is just too important. I'm so sorry. Please enjoy yourself, get comfortable." Kasen then jogged towards the door and opened it before stepping out onto the porch. Kaen could be seen moving at least some distance away from the house along the shoreline. Kasen quickly hurried down the porch steps, her feet hitting the sand and she heard it gently crunching underneath her shoes as she drew closer to him. "Kaen, wait..." When she finally caught up to him she stood quiet for a few moments. This was so difficult; why did it feel so difficult. Kasen sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose, collecting herself before proceeding.

"I...I don't even know where to begin. I know things have been hard for you. I can't even imagine what you've been through, but you have to trust me when I tell you how sorry I am...It wasn't my intention." Kasen would reach into her pocket, pulling out a picture of them as children with their mother. "Do you remember when this picture was taken? We promised mom that we would always look out for each other. You've always done that for me, but I've let you down. I should have fought harder against Same. I should have tried harder for you. I know that I can't even begin to tell you how sorry I am, but I'm here now and I want to make this right. I am going to do whatever it takes because I am your sister and I love you." Kasen's lip began to quiver slightly. She had kept her composure for this long, but between the photo and how Kaen's harsh nature was coming off to her, the situation was really starting to feel impossible. Kaen never was one to be very openly emotional in the first place, but she always felt like she was the one that could see past his walls, that could find the cracks. But these walls were layered and reinforced. Pain was buried under layers and layers of defensive walls that had been put up and meant to shut people out. Kasen knew this wasn't going to be easy, but this was her family, and this was the closest person to her and she had to try. Even if more pain had to potentially be caused first. The would find the light together once more.

The door opened and shut quickly behind, the soft pitter-patter of the blue-haired woman's feet making soft indentations on the sand, Kaen noticed it all. "Kaen, wait..." Kaen would stop to allow her to catch up. As she collected herself as best she could Kaen would cross his arms in ever waiting anticipation. Kaen would eye the door and noticed that the other woman had not followed. For the time being, he would hear her out.

"I...I don't even know where to begin. I know things have been hard for you. I can't even imagine what you've been through, but you have to trust me when I tell you how sorry I am...It wasn't my intention." He watched as she reached into her pocket for something, but what she pulled out would feel like a ton of bricks landing on him. It was a small, slightly wrinkled and worn photograph. Upon it was the image of two small children and a grown woman. Those children were Kaen and Kasen when they were young before the incident happened. And the woman was their mother...

"Do you remember when this picture was taken?" Kaen's heart sank, a painful tinge shook his being to the core. He felt cold all of a sudden, weak almost. He did remember, he could never forget. Kaen would never forget anything, he couldn't afford to forget. "We promised mom that we would always look out for each other. You've always done that for me, but I've let you down. I should have fought harder against Same. I should have tried harder for you. I know that I can't even begin to tell you how sorry I am, but I'm here now and I want to make this right. I am going to do whatever it takes because I am your sister and I love you." Those last three words plunged deep into his soul like a hot knife through butter. It sizzled and screamed as two opposing ideals came crashing into one another. Pain, such terrible pain spread throughout his body, his knees became weak. He wanted so desperately for this woman to be his real sister. Just the thought or notion that this could somehow be an elaborate ruse created by an enemy.

Tears began to form in the corners of Kaen's eyes upon the sight of this woman's quivering. "I..." Kaen would begin to start, but quickly cleared his throat aggressively as if to reverse the formation of his tears. He bottled it up like he had been doing all these years and composed himself as best he could. A single tear was all that escaped and crashed into the sand below. It was absorbed just as quickly as his demeanor changed. "I can't... I don't have time for these games anymore." Kaen's stance would shift dramatically, one of an aggressive stance that would clearly indicate his intent. "Here is my test imposter. If you can survive, you pass." Kaen would distance themselves a fair bit in preparation for what was to come next. "Only the TRUE Kasen will be able to resist and remain steadfast in the presence of her brother's power." Kasen was incredibly powerful, Kaen could feel it all along. This would be the best test he could afford her. If she was an imposter, she would not survive, simple as that.

Kaen's gaze narrowed, closing in, focusing on the target, his prey. This would be 'Kasen' imposter wasn't fooling anyone. Nothing resembled her in the slightest. The stature, body, eyes, hair. It was all plain as day, this was not his sister. Kaen was sure of it. He wanted to believe so bad that it was her, that she was still sane and normal. Not some primal monster that escaped into the ocean expanse. Shaking his head of these distracting thoughts he would reach down into his pockets with each hand. Mirrirowing his Queen's visage his hands would be draped in a golden hue. Some call it pocket sand, some may say ninja weapon. It's a matter of preference I suppose. "You won't last..." Kaen would attempt to provoke a response from the woman, probe deeper for answers. Imposter or not he needed to get to the bottom of this.

The woman, 'Kasen' would shift her self, she knew he was coming. Kaen stared forward into forever, his demeanor unphased. In a brilliant flash, Kaen unleashed his Ancient powers and the immediate area around him would be engulfed in flames. The power he kept deep down would bubble and boil to the surface, a wave of immense chakra pushed outward with Kaen at the epicenter. "You've made a poor choice today, imposter. You should not have tried to pretend to be her."Was this his full power? Perhaps, perhaps not. Does any true warrior ever use their full potential from the get-go? And besides, it was just a little girl. Oh? What's this? The woman would surprise Kaen. Something that didn't happen often. Her form would become more fluid and opaque, almost translucent. It was as if she became part of the ocean. He would need to keep himself between her and the ocean for fear of confusing her with the waves. The pair would mirror each other's actions and reach into their respective bags and consume a super supplement.

Suddenly a plume of sand erupted from the position Kaen was previously. Faster than most eyes could keep up with, he would launch himself forward to attack the imposter. He was fast, too fast. He didn't give her a chance to catch him as he darted around her. But it would appear she was unphased by Kaen's speed showboating. "Tell me, really. Who are you and why have you come here? Who do you work for?"As she performed her arts the sky would darken and clouds coalescing into a massive storm front. The wind picked up and the waves crashed harder as the rain began to fall. The water hissed as it met Kaen's heated body. This too would be ignored and he continued his plan of attack. The area around him also grew dark as he would prepare for another assault.

Watching his opponent power up in preparation for some sort of attack, Kaen would put his guard up just in case. But then suddenly everything grew cold. His hearing dulled and his vision darkened. What was this odd sensation that washed over him? Suddenly he felt pressure, where was it coming from? His chest felt heavy and it was hard to breathe. It was almost as if he was being pulled into a dark abyss in the middle of the ocean. "What's... what is happening, I can't feel, what, I..." And he was silent as the woman's bind drowned his senses.

"What's... what is happening, I can't feel, what, I..." And he was silent as the woman's bind drowned his senses.

Inside the mindscape...

97zA.gif

He could see the route of escape, it was just a short distance to the surface. The slightest hues of yellow shimmered through the still, cerulean waters. The rays lightly grazing Kaen's cheek as his body slipped further into the depths below. Silence rang out as his body touched the bottom of the ocean floor. The heaviness pressed down on him from every direction, he felt cold and alone. "You can't give up..." A voice echoed throughout the motionless watery expanse. It was young, childlike almost. But Kaen remained in place, eyes straight forward. It was as if he was giving in to the darkness and letting the water take him. "Oh, you must be in one of your moods again. That's fine, I'll wait." Kaen's gaze still stared forward, was he even alive? "Mrrr!" Suddenly a small girl appeared from above, her body sinking as he had, yet not bound by the water around them. Her hair was pure and white and her stature small and frail. "Go away, Sara."

Finally, he spoke. But who was this Sara? Perhaps that was a story for another time. All that mattered is there was another conscious hidden within Kaen's mind. "No, I won't. I'm sick of seeing like this." The water instantly started to rise in temperature. A faint hue of red emanated from his body. "Oh you stop, you grumpy asshole. I'm just trying to help since you so clearly aren't going to ask for any." Kaen's only response was to shut his eyes, pouting like a child. "Do you really want to lose her again? What about everything you've done to get where you are now, what you've sacrificed, where you've gone. Was it all for naught? You are too hard on yourself, you just need to --." Sara was cut short as Kaen loudly interjected. "SHUT UP! Just shut up. Stop talking to me, just leave me alone. AAAAAHHHHHH! A terrible cry of anguish reverberated and shook the ocean around them. The little girl grew silent and cowered, her body retreated slightly away from Kaen.
Play Me

"I know it hurts, I've been here the whole time watching. I understand what --."

"No! No, you don't! You couldn't possibly understand what it's like."

"Well how can I if you don't let me--.""

"I've let her down every time it mattered. I was supposed to protect her from all this shit. This world is so fucked up and I abandoned her."

"Kaen, you didn't abandon her. You were locked up in a prison for a year, you couldn't have done anything about that."

"I didn't have to go. I let my pride get the best of me, I let it control me. Even before then I couldn't save her from Barynx. At every turn, I failed. It's all my fault, it's always been my fault. Even since the beginning...

"Yeah but you did it so you could save her. You needed the strength to protect her."

"HA, protect her from what? If it wasn't for me she never would have gotten sick in the first place."

"Kaen, don't do this..."

"Just leave me alone, I don't want to go on anymore..."

The white-haired child floated back down towards him, slow and cautious. "You only really fail when you stop trying. What if that's really her?" Kaen's face turned away from Sara. "It could be true. But I'm scared. What do I even say if it is her? His voice trembled upon uttering those soft words. He was almost terrified that this woman was actually Kasen. She was nothing like he remembered. What had happened to her all these years? Hell, even Kaen wasn't the same person he was before. These thoughts only made him feel sick. "Hnng... I don't want to think about it, I can't. It hurts too much." "I know it does, but if it's her than she's safe and alive. Isn't that good enough? You can't change the past so why dwell on it?" Sara spoke the truth, but it wasn't that simple. Or at least that's the way Kaen felt about it. He was blinded by the immense pain he found himself in. After all the years, all the trials, all the pain, and suffering. Not even against him, but the pain that HE caused in the name of searching for Kasen or the calling that Mother Suna put him on. "I should have been there for her, I wanted to be. I always felt one step behind. We were inseparable and safe before all this mess. Life was simple before we came to Suna. I just want to go back to the way things were before."

A sentiment we all feel at times. Everything is temporary however and we can never go back. That's the real trick, isn't it? Letting go of the past and understanding that life has a way of turning you topsy-turvy. Fate's plans aren't always what we want it to be, and that's hard to accept for some people. Desperately clinging to the past, mistakes replaying over and over in our minds. The pain makes it difficult. Putting a limit on our ability to live life with a sense of joy in the moment rather than dwelling on what was, could be or might be. The change will always come, everyone has their own path to walk whether we like it or not. Kaen needed to find a way to climb above his troubles and stop trying to control everything about everything lest it consumes him entirely and the Ancient bloodline within takes control fully. Sometimes it's harder though, to let go. Despite all his endeavors to acquire strength and power, he fell short. Kaen's power felt only enough to hold on rather than climbing out of this hole he was in.

To be continued...

Upon seeing the tear fall from her brother's eyes, a swell of sorrow filled Kasen. Kaen never cried; he always said he was too tough for that. Kasen made a move to walk towards him, but suddenly his body language shifted. Where once before stood her brother who seemed to be struggling internally, now stood someone she had only seen in brief moments. This was a Kaen that could be lethal and volatile when he chose to me. She didn't want to fight him. Fighting Fire with....well, not fire, but the metaphorical sense of fire, wasn't going to resolve the misunderstanding. But Kaen didn't want to listen to what she had to say. He wanted to know it was her in every way shape and form. If she could only get to a point where he would stop calling her an imposter, perhaps things would be at least a little better. Kasen sighed. "As you wish..." A moment later, Kaen took something into his hands. Kasen was perplexed, as it looked like sand. Was he gonna throw it at her? No, that surely wasn't the case. Either way, Kasen took on a more defensive stance, her body standing relaxed and fluid. She in no way wanted to come off as being the aggressor. Surely she could prove who she was without it resorting to attacking her brother.

A moment later, fire erupted from Kaen's body, surrounding everything around him. Kasen faultered a moment...startled. She had only seen him like this one other time. That time when whey were escaping the laboratory. A carnal shout reached her ears. You should not have pretended to be her. But I'm not pretending... Feeling the heat bear down upon her, Kasen felt perhaps this form was not the best to endure a fight. As natural as it had been the first time, her form slowly shifted. The solidified body almost melted away into an ocean presence that mirrored the body that stood where it now stands. Kasen was still notably visible as Kasen, but all that stood was the clear presence of water. These new gifts were strange, and yet it did not feel odd to embrace them. It was if this had been her gift; part of her destiny.

A moment later, Kasen noticed Kaen pop something into his mouth. A split second later, it prompted her to do the same. Perhaps it would even the playing fields a bit. At least for now it appeared that the two were primarily sizing each other up. Perhaps she could use this opportunity to talk him down. "We don't have to..." However, before she could get another word out, she noticed that all that stood where Kaen once stood was a large plume of sand followed by what sounded by a boom from the sheer speed at which he had moved. Kasen felt two blows hit her. An oof left her body as a series of splashes blasted from her body, hitting the sand and quickly absorbing into it. Her body reformed a second later, although she took the chance to grasp the places that had just taken the blows. It was a strange feeling, to lost part of herself in such a way.

Kaen demanded the truth from her. The truth she had already freely given. Kasen looked down, her hands grasped at her sides in fists. Her bangs hid her expression from him. "I don't work for anyone. I don't want anything. I didn't come here for anything!" Kasen looked towards the sky and lifted a hand up. The skies began to darken, thunder boomed as storm clouds appeared overhead. The wind swirled around the two and the ocean currents became more untamed as they crashed against the shores. A moment later, a torrential downpour let loose, sizzling as it made contact with Kaen's flames. The droplets began to absorb into Kasen, making her feel more at ease with her environment. She smiled, even if just briefly. It rained so little in the deserts of Wind Country, that this was almost a welcome reprieve. Looking back at Kaen, she could tell he was still incredibly distrustful of her. Perhaps he just couldn't sense her the way he could before. Then we must show him.</I><i></i> Kasen could feel Same wanting to contribute her two cents. A sudden surge of chakra flooded her body, and encased her form, the water reacting to it's masters energy, creating a sort of barrier around her. It moved with her as she took a step forward. Kasen's blue eyes were illuminating with the energy that she was wielding. "I refuse to hurt you. That is not my intention. You need to <I>listen to me when I tell you I am her. Kasen's frustrations rippled out towards Kaen, almost grasping him with the power that was held behind the words. She desperately wanted him to understand.

[OOC: Here it is guys. Please, please let me know if I missed anything. Feel free to take or dismiss any roleplay flavoring in this mod. Is my modding easy to read/understand?
-Kaen: Though you were bound... you bound me with the wording of your actions, but I do see what you were trying to do.
-Kasen: I'm going to use another die for you because the one I assigned to you isn't liking you so much unless you want to give it one more round to act nice. ]
- As for Daunt(the Bind), although Kaen was being targeted by a couple of actions, no rolls for Dodge or Genjutsu save were made(only Ninjutsu check), which is why Kasen's actions didn't break the bind. I'm not sure if this is correct though, feel free to let me know if I'm wrong on this.
- Also, as for the wait time, no only was my weekend pack, someone in my house misplaced Kaen stat sheet so I had to start it over from scratch,... only to find out I didn't need it all that much. :p I should be posting quicker next time.]
[Edited: For later... I'm sure I'll need to.]

Despite the torrential downpour that Kasen had seemingly stirred up, there was quite a bit of hesitancy on her part to actually maintain any status of aggression. Maybe there was a way to show Kaen that this wasn't the only way to go about doing things. Despite her prowess with water, Kasen had been working with adapting her skill to harness reflective surfaces, such as the ocean top, but harder. Her practice had brought her to forming the equivalent of mirrors and mirror-like constructs that allowed her to make essentially a series of formations. Kasen needed to show Kaen what he used to be to her, show him what the two of them could be like again. Kasen formed a giant mirror in front of her, a reflection of Kaen shown back at him. A moment later, Kasen hoped that it would take the form of the visage it was reflecting, but ultimately the mirror shattered instead, dissipating into fine dust. Apparently, Kasen still needed to work on her techniques.

Kaen, however, seemed to still be putting off quite a bit of heat. The water around Kasen was quickly starting to form into clouds of white steam. It gave her the idea to perhaps amplify the effect for some additive cover. Kasen channeled some of her chakra into the surround mists that were being created and watched as it covered her visage. Even if it wouldn't add much protection, she still hoped the added cover would give her some help. Kaen still seemed to be fighting against whatever hold she had over him. A sensation of guilt was starting to overtake her. She wasn't sure why he was not fighting against her now; why had he gone so quite and still? Kasen, not wanting her tactics to be in vain, tried creating another mirror, this time beneath kaen. The mirror seemed to almost form, a shimmering of light beneath him, but the form never took. Kasen sighed. This was beginning to be frustrating.

Kasen took a moment, allowing the waters around her to crash into her body, a small reprieve filling her, like a breath of fresh air. She took a step towards Kaen, then another, and another, until she stood before him. Kasen raised her hand out, water molded itself into the shape of a trident before materializing into a sturdy, metal form adorned with visages of the sea. It was a strange feeling, holding the weapon in her grasp. She pointed it towards Kaen, the tips just a short distance from him. "Kaen...I can't..." Kasen felt herself waiver a moment. Despite everything, Kasen had a feeling the only way to get through to him was to give him what he want. The theatrics had been enough. "If this is what it takes...I'm not holding back."

Kaen, still bound by his sister's jutsu, inside his mind the chaos continued. But on the outside, he appeared almost dead to the world. Outside he would remain still, vulnerable to attack. Kaen was oblivious to Kasen's water show and only stared blankly forward. What could possibly be the matter, this Sunan warrior is not usually so meek and tame. Perhaps he was battling something within, there was no real way to tell. Hopefully, he would be able to move again soon, lest he succumbs to further possible assaults.

[OOC - short post is short, sorry I have no actions to show lol - sending round 3's actions. Hopefully, they will entertain more than this last round]

-Kaen: With Jutsu Expansion applied to Dragon Fire, maintain cost tripped me up because I'm not sure how to find it. From the looks of other jutsu, maintain cost is close to 1/3 of the initial cost so I divided by 3. If you know the correct way to find the real cost please share. If I had simply added the jutsu expansion cost on top, the numbers would be more than a bit ridiculous. World Shatter came up as 2.5ap rather than 1ap, let me know if you have something that would affect the cost. Unbalancing Strike reduced Dragon Fire(2ap) Ex from 2.5ap to 1.5ap... possibilities! I'm not sure if Elemental Sprite will negatively affect Beast Embrace or not. I'll say no until told otherwise.
-Kasen: Body Switch didn't attempt to go off against Rasen-Shuriken because it only applies to jutsu B rank or lower jutsu, leaving it to go off against Dragon Fire which Kaen used Feint with. This new die is treating you a lot better. For Deep Blue Crushes Random rolls, it did those called shots in the order they are listed in the UBR(battle rules) 3, 1, 1. ]
- Again, I'm open to correction and questions. Have at it you two.]

Inside the mindscape...

Inside the mindscape Kaen continues to contemplate the situation he has found himself in. Many things wore and eroded away his mind as the stress of it all came closing down around him. Contrast to his earlier scenario, the scene had now changed to one closer to his own mental mindscape. The oceans had dried up in response to Kaen's body trying to fight the will of this woman's watery grasp. He found himself staring straight up into the blue skies above, or at least the sky within his mind.

With an audible sigh, Kaen would pick himself up off of the desert ground and start walking. His destination was unknown, but he felt a pull that called to him, and so he went. The air was dry, leaving your tongue parched and wanting more. The smell was non-existant, his mind closing out part of his senses as he tried to make sense of what was even happening to him. He was looking for something. But what?

What might have felt like hours to him, merely seconds passed in the outside world where this woman had her way with a comatose Kaen. It would remain that way until Kaen had found what he was looking for. He needed something before he could leave. All of these emotions had risen up all at once at the thought of his sister returning, being alive. He had lost the fire that burned within, the heaviness of everything had finally caught up to him. While it was true, he was probably one of the most powerful things in the area thanks to his Flame Court Ancient linage, but there was a hard truth that Kaen often ignored and pushed in the back of his mind... He was still only human, or at least part of him was. There was still weakness within him. Some might not have called it that, but with his current mentality, a human was nothing compared to him. Potential for immortality was a hard thing to pass up when your other option is the measly, short existence of a human.

Soon enough Kaen would find a large mound among the multitude of rolling hills, sagebrush, and general desert landscapes. Hidden inside was a small cave, in the center was a small bush that flickered wildly with fire. Kaen would say nothing, there were no words needed in the place. The fire knew his heart and mind, it was his soul. Kaen would approach it and as it did it would explode to life. It knew who owned it, who controlled it, who was the rightful king. He would draw closer and allow the flame to consume him, a re-kindling of his heart was needed, a reminder of who and what he was, and what he stood for, and what he aimed to protect. This imposter would not fool this Sunan shinobi. The fire now raged entirely within the cave, Kaen's body slowly burning away, but it would mend itself almost immediately. Kaen would cry out in pain.

Back in the real world...

Play Me

A massive vortex of water plowed straight through a helpless Kaen. The water completely enveloped the Shinku sibling to the point of opaqueness. But his body remained vigilant, strong and unmoved. At first, it was subtle, like something you might have heard in the distance. But as Kaen's body started to move again, it would become clear it was coming from him. An almost primal roar reverberated around the area, the sands below their feet began to tremble. "Aaaaggghhhhhhhh!" Kaen had emerged from his slumber reinvigorated and ready to fight back. With a surprising comeback, Kaen would fight his way out of the torrential stream of water with a comeback of his own.

One after another the older Shinku sibling would assault the woman in blue with handheld tornados, aka the Rasenshuriken technique. While it was not his usual 'hot' trick, it would fit the situation at hand. All of them would find their mark and would wreak havoc on the woman's chakra system, not to mention the damage she surely would have sustained from such a critical attack. But the assault would continue, Kaen had come back with a ferocity and resolve stronger than ever. Before the dust could even settle Kaen had launched himself skyward in preparation for a signature attack. He would give almost everything he had into this attack, creating a much larger creation than what others might have normally been capable of doing. (Jutsu expansion/Particle disruption) The flame grew to gigantic proportions, the stream of dragon-like fire would consume the entire area below him making it near impossible for anyone to escape from. The ocean nearby would hiss and began to vent steam as the heat continued to rise on this Sunan beach.

-Thud- Kaen made contact with the ground after his last assault, but he was quick on his feet and instantly took off with blinding speed circling his prey, the imposter. As he dashed from here to there, he would attempt to confuse his opponent, making it difficult for her to track his movements and predict an attack. Every few intervals of time he would let loose another inferno, over and over and over. He would not let up. At last, he would run out of air needed to continue breathing his fire, he would jump back a distance. With a slow, but deliberate, exhale, Kaen would compose himself for a brief moment before he would raise his face to meet the woman. His eyes would try to lock onto hers. With another powerful shout, Kaen would explode into a fiery mess. Flames completely covering his body, violently licking outwards for any chance to burn. "I told you once already if you were the real Kasen you would have no prob--"

Kaen's sentence was comedically put on hold as a massive wave of water that hit from all sides. He had become blinded by his offensive will and was taken off guard. The first initial wave caused his head to slam violently against the hardened sand surface. The continuing stream would push him further down the beach where his body would collide with a washed-up log. The pain shot throughout, a headache instantly came to life, and his arms felt crushed. He could move, but it was incredibly painful. With great effort, he would pick himself up from his slumped position. The pain had triggered something. How long had it been since somebody had actually managed to hurt him to this point? "Heh... Very well. I might not recognize you as family, but I can respect your fighting spirit. You are strong, but I am stronger... As Kaen ended his sentence, the skies would begin to darken in response to the buildup of power within Kaen. Time spent apart from one another, each of them had learned a new array of tricks. Kasen's more natural, Kaen's not so much. Muddling with a complex variety of infused powers gained either from consuming the souls of the fallen, or simply more scientific meddling, Kaen was strong, but at what price. A stream of fire shot down from out of the sky into Kaen, his head would rise up to reveal an unsightly visage of pain, resolve, and power. A concussive wave of energy exploded outward with Kaen at the epicenter. (World Shatter)
