Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

It had been a few years now since Raku's arrival to cloud after the end of Kirigakure, and these last few years had gone by in a blur. It's not as if anything spectacular or even anything of note had happened; just regular everyday shinobi activity. Putting all his effort into getting used to living here, keeping his mind off of the past and looking only forward, it was hard to keep track of the days gone by. It had probably been over 2 years since he had last taken the opportunity to have a day off and relax.

Waking up early that morning, Raku knew today was going to be the day that he would take a break and attempt to relax somewhere in the city, but he couldn't skip out on his daily training schedule. Eyes slowly opening to the dim light from outside of the early morning, he raised his hands up to his face, rubbing his fingers against his eyes, clearing his vision, and removing any bodily debris which had build up overnight. Rolling over onto his side, he lay his head atop one arm, the other flopping onto the open space on his bed in front of him as he let out a deep breath, blinking a few times as he realized it was time to get up. After a few moments of laying on his side, Raku sat up on his bed, crossing his legs out of habit, and stretching his arms up into the air, letting out a long yawn as he continued to try and wake himself up. He wasn't exactly an early bird, but keeping up with training and being a Shinobi meant that he had to wake up early like this all the time, so it wasn't as if he wasn't used to it, it just wasn't something his body responded to as well as others. Unfolding his legs and placing each foot on the floor below the bed, the chill of the cold floor entered the soles of his warm feet, as he pushed up off the ground to get himself up on his feet and standing.

Not too long after waking up, Raku had gotten himself up and into the washroom, doing normal things in the morning like taking a good long piss, shower and brushing his teeth to get clean and ready for the day, walking back into his room after drying up, his hair still a bit wet; long hair being a pain in the ass to dry. He walked to his dresser, opening it up and looking through his clothes for what he would wear today, setting it out on his bed; a pair of casual black cargo pants, a grey t-shirt and a black and white hooded long sleeved shirt to wear over top. But for now he needed to get dressed for training, putting on a more worn pair of cargo pants and a black tank top. Walking over to the table beside his bed, he grabbed his eyepatch, and put around his head, placing the patch over his right eye, and then left his room to go make himself breakfast and head out to train for the morning.

----------------------------------------------

After a few hours, the sun had come up fully, and Raku had returned home from training, sweaty and a bit worn out. Taking another quick shower, he cleaned himself up, planning to go into town to relax, he didn't want to smell all sweaty when surrounded by other people in the village. After finishing his shower, he walked back into his room and began to get dressed in the clothes he had laid out on his bed this morning; the black cargo pants, and grey t-shirt first, then his mist headband on his left arm, and the long sleeved shirt on top, covering it up as a keepsake, and then his cloud headband around his right arm, around his sleeved arm, showing it off for all to see. After getting fully dressed, Raku walked over to his closet, opening it to see all his usual equipment, as he put it on over top of his clothes, just to be ready, but still in casual clothing. He belt had the sheath of his katana attached to it, and pouches for other usual ninja gear. Feeling equipped well enough for a casual afternoon out, Raku closed his closet, and heading out of his room towards the front door.

Leaving his apartment, he stepped outside, closing the door behind him, and locking it so no one would go inside while he was out and about. His apartment wasn't in the most populated area of the village, preferring to live in a less crowded area to avoid too much noise and contact with too many people on a regular basis. At this time, Raku was still kind of a loner, just getting used to living here, not having made any good friends or anything yet, just a few casual acquaintances. Maybe today would be the day he would meet someone? Though it wasn't exactly his plan, or a priority as he just wanted to go out, enjoy a nice meal and not have to worry about other duties for right now. Walking down the street with a kind of slow stride for his height, he took his time leaning back a bit as he walked, taking a bit more time to look around and enjoy the sights and sounds of his home, as he headed from the more sparsely populated area where he lived into the Susukino district.

It became obvious he was in the right place with all the people around, as it got much more crowded, people filling the streets, shopping, eating, exploring the city. There was so much to do in this place. Voices shouting everywhere, trying to attract attention to their shops, groups of people excitedly talking amongst themselves. Raku's open eye darted around looking at all the places as he walked down the busy street, places on both the left and the right, all looking like good places to go, but for right now, he just wanted a restaurant to sit down and enjoy a quick meal. Spotting a nice looking casual restaurant off to the side, his attention was caught, and the smell of the food being cooked wafting out and down the street smelled so good, he was sure this was where he would eat today, as he began to head towards the front of the restaurant to head in and get a meal.

(Please, anyone feel free to join so I can actually RP. Stuff before the dash's is just prologue/me getting back into it, so don't feel you need to read that if you're reading this first.)

Ronin hadn't been active for a long time, secluding himself into his room after his older brother left him, twice. Normally he'd be over this but it was weighing on his mood far more heavily that he thought. Maybe he was too used to being pampered that the moment that ended he wasn't quite capable of adapting. When he finally exited his room people were surprised, not just by his willingness to leave, but by the fact that it was obvious he hadn't bathe in a week. His hair was greasy and a mess and he smelled awful, once he realized it himself he decided it was time to clean himself up.

After doing so he left his home to get some fresh air. Hopefully he didn't lose his job, he can only be missing in action for so long before the corps come looking for him, though since his older brother was the ANBU Sennin maybe he still gets a bit of leeway. He decided to check in so that people at least know he hasn't deserted but he decided to take the long way and go through the many districts within Kumogakure.

He begun his trip through the Susukino district, people chattering on endlessly about their days and other topics that nobody really cares about but tolerates because "manners." Ronin was done with manners, done with the useless dribble of everyday life, or was he just in a mood. He wasn't paying too much attention to where he was going, most people moved out of his way as they walked past him until he went head first into the shoulder of a slightly taller man with long hair and an eyepatch.

Ronin quickly pushed off him and started dusting himself off. "Dude watch where you're going." Even though it was clearly his fault for running into the man.

Haji was just off of his duties for the ANBU, it had been a long night and all six of his arms ached from the constant leaping around he usually was tasked with doing. Haji always got stuck with patrolling from an upper vantage point because of his more than capable skills of climbing things.

Haji stopped into a local restaurant to get some breakfast before he’d head off to bed. They were one of the few places around that made eggs the way he liked them: smothered in hot sauce.
Haji liked to sit near the large window at the front of restaurant with his eggs and a coffee; he hated tea. He sat here normally because he was a people watcher. Haji was actually quite used to people being off put by his staring, and had on more than one occasion been caught spying on others while they trained. Haji believed in the power of information, especially after all of his training with the ANBU that required his ascertaining information on targets. Sensitive information was the best kind in Haji’s opinion.

But this was just a bit of casual ritual for him, and he had actually spotted an eye patched man making his way toward the restaurant. wonder how he got that Haji mused to himself taking a sip from his coffee. Just as the man was making his way toward the entrance he was collided with by some skinny young kid.

Haji snorted with amusement. Breakfast and a show. He continued his observation, they had his attention for the time being.
He was always interested in finding more information on his fellow shinobi, and the long haired eyepatch guy was interesting looking enough. He looked to be around Haji’s age as well, interesting that he had never crossed paths with him, but not unlikely either.

He made up what he thought the shorter kid was saying to patchy the pirate.

“I love your hair! That’s why I ran into you like that! What’s your secret?”

Haji smiled to himself as he seemingly conversed with his coffee. “Gosh I hope they come in here” he grinned.

Raku was getting closer to the restaurant he was planning to stop at, as he slowly walked towards it, the sound of people walking by and talking, and passing other who were even just standing still washed over his ears as he paid no attention to them, keeping his thoughts to himself, curious about what they would serve where he was going, and what he thought he'd like to order from there for his meal today. Not much of a cook himself, he was used to eating pretty plain food at home regularly, so it was nice to get out and taste something made properly for mass consumption of a populace.

It was within only a few more steps of the place that a relatively young looking boy with brown hair bumped into him. At that moment, Raku stood in position, making sure it was just an accidental bump and not a pickpocket of some kind, having only felt the bump of the boys head into his shoulder. Turning his head from the direction he was heading over to the young male who had now pushed off of him and began brushing his cloths off in a fashion that would be used to straighten himself out, Raku listened as the boy apparently placed the blame on him. Whether it was Raku's fault or the boy's didn't really matter all that much to Raku, he didn't want to be rude in general. "Sorry. Seems like you're in a hurry, I must have missed you in that rush you're in." Raku responded in kind, resting his elbow on the hilt of his katana, so as to stand there more casually, shooting off a slight smile and tilting his head to the side a bit as his long orange hair rolled off his shoulder, hanging in the air a bit more, his one exposed green eye looking towards young man, "I was just headed to the restaurant over there, and I'd offer you a drink as a form of apology if it didn't seem like you had somewhere to be? " he continued, posed slightly as a question as he wasn't even sure if the boy was headed somewhere, or just liked to move through town rather quickly, pointing a finger towards the restaurant from the arm that was resting on his katana's hilt, turning his body slightly towards it in an effort to express that he was planning to move on if the boy had nothing else to say, or wanted to get a move on himself.

It wasn't as if Raku was trying to get rid of the boy or anything, in fact, it was the first person he had talked to casually in quite some time, he just didn't want to keep standing in the street looking like a fool, taking up space others could be using to walk, his body language and positioning trying to either move this conversation into the restaurant, or end it here if the boy felt he had to get going. Raku had yet to take the time to notice they were being watched by a man inside the restaurant he was headed to, not particularly on the lookout for such things in town here, especially since the young man had taken his attention for the current moment, people still walking by the two of them on either side while they stood there, as Raku began to take a step towards the restaurant, "You're free to join me if you have the time." he finished, as he began heading the rest of the way to and into the restaurant.

Ronin wasn't quite expecting that reaction out of the man. It wasn't so much that he was attempting to get a rise out of him, but he was used to at least some form of opposition. Ronin merely gave the man a strange look as he apologized, though it allowed him to get a better look at the man. The first thing he noticed was the eye patch, which would normally be weird if Ronin wasn't familiar with such injuries in his line of work. Ronin assumed the man was a shinobi, but there could be other explanations for the eye patch.

He made eye contact and noticed the man's green eyes. Like, really green. Ronin was quite aware people had strange eye colors in his travels but he's never seen something so.... bright, almost as if they were showing themselves off. Ronin blanked for a moment before catching himself, his face slowly turning red out of embarrassment. He wasn't fascinated, it was just shocking and it left him momentarily speechless. Nonetheless, the man's choice of words struck up his attitude once again.

"I wasn't in a hurry to get anywhere." He stated with a bit more edge in his voice than he initially wanted to. He looked toward the restaurant the man was somewhat inviting him to. It wasn't bad or anything Ronin was just used to having his meals as home prepared by their family chef so eating out was only really a thing if Ronin left the village with one of his brothers, foreign cuisine is... interesting. Still, a free drink is a free drink, maybe he could trick the man into giving him alcohol, Kouin won't let him drink since he's too young.

"I mean... I guess I have nothing better to do." Ronin muttered under his breath as he began to follow the man toward the restaurant.

Taking steps towards the restaurant, and hearing the boy behind him mention not having anything better to do resulted in a smirk forming on Raku's face as he led to way in through the front entrance of the building. It was a little more quiet inside, but the conversations outside still made their way in, and people were also having conversations inside as well. Raku looked around, scoping out the place a bit, seeing it was quite busy. It was a nice and warm environment with plenty of seating for lots of people, a counter with stools in front of it for people who weren't in need of more private seating, a man behind the counter, and a bunch of people in the kitchen in the back working away at making and preparing food for customers to eat and enjoy. Raku walked up to an empty spot in front of the counter with stool placed in front of it. The counter had plenty of room for people, as most people here today seemed to be sitting at the tables enjoying their privacy, but it wasn't something Raku was concerned with at this point in time. There were still a few people at the counter as well, so they weren't alone in the area where he had decided to sit.

Taking a seat, Raku looked at the menu in front of him deciding what he wanted to eat today. The menu in one hand, he reached up with his other, moving some fallen hair out of his eyesight so he could read properly as he tucked it back behind his ear, moving his hand to his chin afterwards while making he he knew what he wanted. It didn't take too long, before he finished thinking about it, and motioned to the man behind the counter, waiting for him to come over and take his order. "I'd like a bacon and ham sandwich with some eggs on the side and a glass of orange juice." Raku ordered, as he decided he felt like he wanted some breakfast type food even though it was getting later in the day, it was just a craving he wanted to fill since waking up this morning. "And whatever he would like to drink" he continue, pointing to the boy who had followed him into the restaurant.

Raku would wait for the boy to reply with whatever he decided, and the man to head off to get people working on their order before getting comfortable in his position. Placing his hands on the counter in front of him, Raku leaned forward in his seat waiting for the food and drinks to arrive or for anything else interesting to happen, as well as further the conversation. "I'm Takuya, Raku by the way. I guess I never introduced myself earlier." he told him, trying not to be rude and at least explain who he was to the boy he had met, cracking a bit of a smile, then taking a look around the room, taking in the feel of the place a bit more and getting used to his surroundings.

Ronin wasglad that the man had not noticed his moment of temporary fixation on his face. Ronin straightened himself out before following the man, forgetting his duties to the village for a moment, a free drink is far more important.

Once he entered he was blown away by the same ridiculous chatter he was complaining earlier, though they were technically private conversations he couldn't help but listen in. Someone did this on someone wedding day or Sakura caught Ichigo cheating on her with someone named Zoro. It was all mundane, there were people dying for them to have these moments you think they'd do something productive with their lives.

Ronin was standing there, stuck in his own rant in his mind for a few seconds after the man had already found a spot for them to sit. Few people noticed but he suddenly felt like the world was staring at him. He kept his head low as he walked up to the bar and took a seat. He searched around for a menu before taking one that was obviously in front of another customer. He also kinda wanted food but that wasn't part of the arrangment and Ronin wasn't going to push his luck with a complete stranger.

He flipped through the pamphlet absentmindedly, he wanted something sweet but everything in the dessert section didn't really count as a "Drink." Maybe the man wasn't so anal about that, but there wasn't a way fro Ronin to gauge that without asking, and with his height and appearance it'd make him look like a child. He wouldn't be surprised if people already mistook him for the man's little brother, or child even.

"I'll take a..." he hesitated for just a moment. There was no way he was going to be given alcohol here, a soft drink would be fine but he's not in the mood for that. Risking looking like a total child he continued "Chocolate milkshake." He turned back to Raku as he introduced himself. Ronin wasn't sure what to say really, fake pleasantries were more Kouin's strengths. He simply nodded and offered an awkward handshake. "I'm Ronin."

Eye patch and short guy had walked into the restaurant and taken a seat on some stools up at the counter. Haji frowned hoping they would sit a bit closer so he could hear what they’re saying. He could feel himself missing out; possibly on why eye patch guy had his eye patch. This was unacceptable.

Haji had sat and watched for long enough, he stood up, his extra arms absent mindedly collecting his coffee and plate of eggs, and made his way over to the counter. On his way over Haji considered the fact that he could have totally had a career in being a waiter with his extra arms. There was another man about to sit on the other side of eye patch guy, but Haji pulled him back by his shirt collar and plopped down next to eye patch.

He sat down his food and began to eat again in silence, casting glances over at the man’s eyepatch. Maybe he has one of those fancy eye things under there Haji wondered as he stuffed in mouthfuls of egg. maybe it’s just gone, or really deformed Haji brightened at that. His curiosity was building to a point of no return. He ate the last bite of eggs, took a sip of coffee, then turned his head. “Heeeeeeey” Haji said as friendly as possible “Sooooo, I’m Haji, and what happened to your eye ball?” he smiled politely.

Smooth.

Raku chuckled a bit as the boy held out his hand for a handshake while introducing himself. Handshakes weren't something he was used to doing since he'd come to this village, but it was something he was used to from his life in Kirigakure, which caused him to think back on those times for a moment, remembering his old life, and how he missed it, but it was the past, and the past couldn't be changed; looking forward was all he could do for now. Turning towards the boy, he stuck out his hand, completing the handshake between the two of them. It wasn't much longer before their drinks and food arrived, setting them down in front of the two of them, Raku reached into his pocket to grab some money, as he preferred to pay right away instead of waiting until he was finished his food to make payment. Handing the payment for his food and the two drinks to the man behind the counter, Raku nodded to him in agreement of the transaction.

As he looked down at his food, grabbing the sandwich in both hands and bringing it up to his mouth, he took a nice large bite out of it, chewing it thoroughly before swallowing, and placing the sandwich back down on the plate and taking a big gulp of his orange juice. Raku turned back to the boy, "So do you always walk in a hurry then, if you weren't busy going somewhere important?" he questioned, as he had been moving quickly outside, but apparently the boy wasn't late going somewhere since he had come inside for his drink instead of continuing on his path.

It was just moments after that when a man who had recently sat down to the other side of Raku turned towards him and began to speak, apparently curious about his eyepatch, or so he would assume since the question was in regards to his eyeball, and there was nothing strange about his visible eye, unless it was a colour the man hadn't seen before. This was the first time Raku really took any notice, but he was about to grab another bite of his sandwich, instead turning towards the man so as not to ignore him, when he noticed the man had more arms than a normal person. He had heard about people like this before, but he had never actually met someone with extra arms before. "Woah. That's a lot of arms." he responded, "Seems more interesting than my eye-patch if you ask me." Raku continued, not answering the mans question yet, maybe to cause him to wonder even more about what was under there. He took another bite from his sandwich before continuing, chewing and swallowing the mouthful one more before looking back to Haji, "But you can call me Raku. The reason eye-patch is kind of underwhelming. It's actually just a training tool for myself to mess with depth perception and balance." he explained, reaching forward again grabbing the glass of juice and taking a sip to wash down the previous bite. "I seem to be meeting a lot of people today." Raku said aloud, talking to both of the guys on either side of him, "Maybe I should get out more."

Ronin was quite visibly exited when his milkshake was brought to the table, he wasn't normally allowed sweets as once he starts its hard to get him to stop and the medical nin stopped healing his teeth after so many visits. He paid no attention to his surrounding as he drowned in the chocolate goodness in front of him. When the man questioned him about his walking speed he stopped. He did walk quickly to many places, he had an impatient temperament that made him go from place to place without wasting time, but he did kind of need to be places.

"Not necessarily but..." He took another drink of his milkshake before starting to stir the whip cream into the actual drink. "I did have somewhere I was going, but free milkshake. He stared at his drink, a very contemplated look on his face, making him look like a child getting scolded by his parents. He was putting it off but he realized he can't really do whatever he wanted to anymore now that his oldest brother was slowly giving his position of power away.

He was about to continue speaking before another man joined them, one with several arms. Ronin has seen some weird things in his time as a shinobi, his oldest brother places his consciousness in several dead bodies that... don't seem to decay. Actually, this is a lot less weird that what he's seen in his own family. The man, however, needed a lesson in subtlety, or someone to hammer the concept into his head because he just pointed out something Ronin was avoiding in case it was sensitive and Ronin's reaction was quite obvious. However, Raku took it in stride, and Ronin was visibly relieved. "I have to say, you're quite terrible and introductions." Ronin raised his eyebrown at the man who introduced himself as Haji.

Raku laughed at Ronin's response to Haji, noting that his introduction was a little strange, but Raku wasn't much better at introductions himself. He was pretty awkward when it came to social interactions, and this day had just shown him that even more so. Finishing up his food and drink, Raku realized what time it was. Everything had happened so fast, that he didn't notice how quickly time had gone by, and realized he needed to head out himself.

"I'm sorry, but I just noticed the time. I may not have an important meeting or anything, but I need to keep my daily schedule, so I need to be off now." he said to the two of them, as he stood up from his seat, took out his wallet, and got enough money to pay for his meal, laying it down on the table before excusing himself, "It was nice to meet you two, hopefully I'll see you around again, have a good day." he finished, heading towards the door, waving goodbye behind him.
