Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

A barbarian, by one definition, is a person whom shows signs of being a fierce, cruel, or brutal person. These traits, while frowned upon in normal society, are traits that are needed to become successful in life, especially in the Shinobi World. Kagai had learned this long ago, and despite his outward persona of being a calm, and collected preacher of the Golden Dawn and Lord Kojin, inside his mind was a raging inferno. All he could see was the filth all around him, and wished for Lord Kojin to burn it all away. Most of the people he looked upon were not worth the air they breathed, and only a few individuals seemed to even spark an interest in Kagai.

After his last interesting meeting in one of the slummiest bars that resided in Sunagakure, Kagai was feeling especially antsy. He wanted a fight, his brain was burning for one. Seeing as he had yet to find one person that he deemed worthy to fight, aside from that Bruinetto guy some time ago, Kagai figured that perhaps Quantity would outweigh Quality, so he would pick a fight in yet another bar, hoping to get maybe a small gang of useless pawns to fight with him to sate his thirst for a decent battle.

He would come across a bar named Maelstrom hidden deep within Sietch Zensunna, deep in the red light district. It looked sleazy enough for Kagai to spark up some kind of ruckus, and he had the perfect idea in which to start said ruckus with almost 100% certainty.

Life was not eternal. Humans were plagued with death since the time of their conception. In terms of the world around them an individual person's life did not constitute but a small blip in the grand scheme of things. It was depressing realizations like this that caused every day people to consume their lives in alcohol and perverseness in order to manage and trudge along. It was realizations like this that caused Roku to live life like a big game; he would eventually die, that was a given, but why not enjoy his stay while he can. With those two conflicting ideologies, defeating acceptance and wild rebellion, there were countless moments of tension that would arise. Roku would find himself in the middle of many of those tensions. Roku craved those interactions. It not only allowed him to feel alive, he hoped it allowed those he interacted with to realize something more to their life than the boringness they droned on with.

Of course he was also just an ass that liked to stir up shit. Maybe there was nothing more to it than that? With all the smugness he could muster the youth would march his way into the Maelstrom, one of the lower establishments he frequented, to see what excitement he could find in the 'common people' today. Not many shinobi, or those with skill, ventured to this area. It was more the true scum of the cavernous society that found themselves within this local. This caused Roku to feel both happy and sad; happy because they would be quick to rile up but sad because of the huge difference between the two. Roku had been trained to be a weapon of the military, while the patrons of the bar might have had some experience beating up their women or weaklings they could bully. So while it was always an affair advantage in his favor, he would always vow to only use a tenth of his strength in order to keep things semi-entertaining.

"Hey... you in the white jacket, you the punk named Roku?"

It seemed his first costumer was beckoning.

As he walked in through the doors, Kagai gave the area a quick glance to sum up his potential entertainment for the night. The typical scum of the earth was located in here, but it seemed like the fun was about to begin without his interference. A beast of a man seemed to be approaching another man clothed in white. He appeared to be reaching for him and asking him if he was "the punk named Roku."

Before the man he was addressing could answer, Kagai came in with the interception..."No...I am." He had no idea who this Roku was, and obviously this guy didn't know who he was either, so Kagai had the perfect opportunity to start the ruckus he was hoping for. The man's attention then turned towards Kagai, whom was just smiling from ear to ear as he and a couple of his friends began to approach him. They began to spread out around Kagai, taking different vantage points, showing that they had at least some basic training. Two of the men came running towards Kagai, one on his left and the other coming from the center. The other two would follow shortly after, attempting to confuse and overpower Kagai.

His smirk didn't leave his face as he just stared the man coming down center dead in the eyes as he rose up his fist to strike Kagai, whom quickly grasped the mans fist in midair. The was a slight pause before he was then quickly thrown into the man charging at him from his left, sending both of them skidding across the floor until they hit the bar. Kagai then spun around once more, swinging his right leg around to meet another attacker in the face with the tip of his shoe, and then leaping off of his left leg. While in the air, Kagai would spin himself around to bring down his left leg onto the shoulder of the final attacker, plowing him into the wooden floor as he landed skillfully upon his right leg.

And like clockwork it would seem the game would begin. Once you've spent as much time in the filth as Roku you are bound to have made a couple, hundred, enemies. This guy must have been given a vague description of Roku, he really didn't change up his wardrobe and his facial scars were pretty noticeable. So when he entered a flea ridden location like this it was only a matter of time before his appearance set off someone, and if that didn't work he would use his words to jog some violent reactions out of the thugs. His eyes glanced towards the figure making his way towards him; he was a big guy. The faint movement within his peripherals gave him a little indication that this guy was not traveling alone; could this get any better?

Then something that never happens, happened. Someone else spoke up to reveal themselves as Roku. A bemused look washed over the young ruffian's face as he slowly back up from the scene. This could be worth a good watch after, some guy throwing himself into the middle of a bad situation. It wasn't strange to see fellow thrill seekers, hell them biting off more than they could chew was almost as entertaining as himself jumping into the mix. What followed next was what truly threw Roku into a dazed stupor. Not only did someone claim his name to seek the punishment owed to him, this person made quick work of those around him, which turned out to be more than a handful. This guy, however, made it seem easy. Now that was truly entertaining.

Maybe it was luck? "Well I'll be damned... that must be Roku! With his track record I bet he owes a little bit of money to some of the individuals in this place, I hear he has shitty luck in terms of gambling." And life, which was further reinforced when his comments caused a few more grizzly men to stand up. As rage filled their eyes as their sights turned to "Roku", the legitimate Roku would make his way to the bar. You always need a drink when watching a fight. "Good luck, buddy..." he muttered with a grin on his face. Maybe this guy was a legitimate fighter, wouldn't that be a damn sight to see in this shit hole!

Kagai was unsure if that guy was the true Roku or not, but right now he didn't care. It seemed he was being fed all of the people that this Roku guy had wronged in this bar, which was damn near every questionable person in the bar it seemed. This Roku guy must of been a real sleaze ball to amass this much hatred, but Kagai couldn't complain. The hatred was feeding his fighters instinct, and he was legitimately excited. While he was a preacher and attempted to spread the word of Kojin to the people with his words, he himself did not believe words were enough to gain Kojin's attention.

One had to perform deeds, great deeds, in order to attract His attention. Fighting, maiming, killing your enemies and offering their screams as a sacrifice to his Lord in hopes that he will hear them and grant his blessing upon Kagai once more...."You all will make such sweet sacrifices...You are all filth, garbage...You will burn." Kagai said lowly, almost as a whisper. One of the bigger guys began to make his way towards Kagai, a cocky smirk upon his face. The other guys stood back for a moment, apparently this guy also had a reputation..."You don't impress me, Roku." He would say towards Kagai...."You're an amateur at best! I am going to wipe the floor with you for what you did to my sister and girlfriend..." Kagai couldn't help buy laugh. Whoever this Roku guy was, he sounded pretty hilarious. The man didn't take the laughing very kindly, and quickly ran at Kagai, throwing a punch at him that connected dead center of his face. The force was impressive and sent Kagai down into the floor and into a nearby table.

Kagai slowly stood up, the punch had taken him off guard so he was paying for it with the slight amount of pain he was feeling on his nose, and the distinct taste of blood filling his mouth. His nose was bleeding and his lip had been cut...."It's been awhile since I tasted my own blood.." Kagai said as he slowly rose up his right arm, his fist clenched in front of his face which still had a smirk upon it, albeit a bit bloody. His middle finger and thumb would shoot up as he flipped off the guy that had punched him, which pissed him off greatly and caused him to run at Kagai once more.

To the untrained eye, it would seem as if Kagai was doing nothing but flipping the guy off, but a trained eye could see that there was a small ball of light forming at the tip of his middle finger. Although it was small, anyone with shinobi training could see that it could pack a punch. The chakra he was molding into it was being tightly compacted, meaning that it would explode outwards with great force if it struck something, which it most definitely would. Bringing his hand down and pointing the tip of his finger at his oncoming prey, Kagai let loose his jutsu. The tiny ball of light shot out like a bullet towards the man, striking him dead in the chest and exploding with the concussion force of a baku tag. This caused the man to fly into and through a nearby wall, and also destroyed some of the wood paneling and tables around the area. The other men seemed to be a bit more weary of Kagai, whom they thought was Roku. They knew they didn't stand a chance against a Shinobi, and quickly scattered in every which way.

Sipping the amber liquid from his glass container Roku could only help but smirk. This was entertainment, this was exciting. Hell, this random guy was doing a pretty good job defending the name of Roku. See Roku saw this a perfect chance to do one of two things; either wipe out his debt by having "him" beaten to a pulp as a repayment most thugs would take or growing his legend of being someone to just avoid. The latter seemed to be what this man before him was perpetuating. But what if there was a way to milk this situation more so? Maybe it was the smell of blood, maybe it was the fighting spirit of 'Roku', maybe it was the true fighting spirit of the actual Roku, or maybe it was the liquor, whatever it was there was a nagging deep within Roku that caused him to slam down his glass.

As those that were originally planning some retribution on Roku saw him unleash a tactic that was clearly way over their pay grade they started to scatter. At this time Roku would raise up from the bar with both hands extended in the air. "Hold the fuck up..." His words were not overly loud, they were not hostile, they were simply a firm command. It seemed to grab the attention of some as the scurrying about subsided. Turning around his eyes would lock onto 'Roku'. "Just who the fuck does this, Roku, think he is? Coming into our bar, into our area, into our stomping ground and pushing us around? Sleeping with our sisters, girlfriends, mothers?" Following each portion of the statement he would point to individuals in the crowd that he knew for certain he had perpetrated these indiscretions against. "Come into our bars and steal money from us gambling, while we were pissing, or just simply rob the bartender? Come into our area and beat down some of the strongest among us just because he could? Or because, in his words, we were staring at him like we wanted to sample his 'man-flower' and he isn't the kind of guy just to pass out free samples?" The last one kind of threw some people off of his little rant but for the most part the crowd was sticking with his sentiment of entitling them to action.

Making his way towards the artist currently known as Roku, Roku would smirk as he lowered his arms. "For a services fee, I will get rid of this piece of shit for you..." This was met with some grunts and cheers, but the most important came from the bartender who gave him some remark indicating that they would pay for his job should it be successful. "Pleasure meeting you 'Roku'... my, my you seem a lot uglier than I remember myself. I appreciate you cleaning up some of my loose ends, but in order to truly milk this situation I need to kick my own ass." His words were at a level that they would be maintained mostly to himself and Kagai, even if a simpleton or two heard it they were too busy trying to grasp the whole situation anyways that they would never put the whole picture together.

That smile hadn't left Kagai's face as it seemed the man who had been approached as Roku previously was stepping to the plate, denouncing Kagai, whom was still posing as Roku, and claiming that for a small fee he would show him what for and take him out from the bar. This was made clear when Roku came close up to him and talked about how he had to kick his own ass...."My friends call me Kagai....And believe me..You don't want any of what I am right now...That'll be your one and only warning." Kagai said as he turned his head towards whom he believed to be the actual Roku.

Kagai would then attempt to push the man back by placing his hands upon his shoulders and pushing forward. Either the man would back off once he seen Kagai was rather serious, or he would keep coming at him. To be honest, Kagai was hoping for the latter. If the man was coming up and challenging Kagai after seeing him beat down five guys, he must have some type of confidence in his skill.

It seemed that the not so real Roku was really feeling the adrenaline rush right now as he calmly stared down the very real Roku. This night had went from a potential let down to a potential great success. After hearing the name of the man that had originally claimed to be Roku, the real Roku would smirk and shrug his shoulders as if to say "Who gives a shit". With this Kagai would place his hand on Roku. His newly named opponent would thrust their palm into his shoulder causing his body to shift backwards with the force, while his other foot would remain firmly where it was. In essences he had simply taken a step back. This was Kagai's warning? He probably could do better.

"Pussies push." Those were the only words he felt that would be necessary to truly get the full potential of this fight kick started. But to add in a special kicker his face would contort into one of the cockiest smirks upon saying those words, turning into a troll or imp-like smile. A smile that just beamed an aura of douchery.

Oh boy, here we go. It seems that the real Roku wasn't going to listen to Kagai's warning, which was most welcomed. He had kind of hoped he wouldn't of. It seemed people were beginning to leave the scene, sensing the tension in the air, or maybe it was the heat. The room began to grow increasingly more uncomfortable as the temperature seemed to be steadily rising and if one was to look at Kagai, they could possibly see why. He had an aura about him, an unstable chakra aura that distorted the air around him causing a mirage effect for anyone looking upon him.

While the temperature was uncomfortable the further out you got, it would damn near unbearable for people standing close to him, especially after what would happen next. The aura of chakra that had gathered around Kagai would then explode outwards in a sphere of destruction. It would flash burn everything around him up to six feet, scorching the floor, chairs and even people if it was allowed to hit them, though a trained shinobi would be able to withstand the hit, probably even dodge it. The bodies of the men Kagai had knocked out previously wouldn't fair that well, that's the be sure. All the while, Kagai's golden-red eyes seemed to flow much like the fires that sparked up around him did, and a very sinister smile held steady upon his face. Would this Roku guy, after seeing what Kagai was capable of, still want to fight?

Living underground there was very little times he found himself wondering why the hell it was so hot, but this would be one of those very instances. It seems that the temperature was going up and rapidly at that. That is when things began to piece together. His opponent was wavy, probably a distortion from the heat. I'm getting really good at this whole pissing off thing, huh? His mental rhetorical would be fired within his brain when suddenly something else was being fired off; a large surge of energy would erupt from the one known as Kagai.

Raising his arms up he would be slammed by the wave of energy, which would tear through the sleeves of his jacket as he was hurdling backwards. Fortunately his progression backwards would be impeded, unfortunately it would be because he was slamming into a bar stool. The little wooden seat would burst into splinters as the body of Roku dropped to the ground with a thud. There would be a brief moment where the world would stand still, those still in the area would peer over from their various hiding spaces to see the one who had proposed to put an end to 'Roku' was now sitting upon the ground hunched over slightly as his arms let off a little simmering smoke trail.

Raising his hands up he would latch on to the bar, slowly pulling himself up. "What a pain in the ass you're gonna be." Once he was back to his feet he would grip the chest of his jacket pulling it until it tore from his body, clumping upon the ground. The teen's body would not look like much at first glance, aside from being covered in numerous, varying in size, scars. His arms would raise up to about his head and quickly would drop down to his side. This process would be repeated as his gaze turned towards Kagai. "You a shinobi... nah it's ok, I know you are." As his arms were continually raising up and thrusting down, while it wouldn't seem like much, one would begin to notice that the definition of the muscles across his upper body would be becoming more defined. "I don't usually goes this wild... most people are pretty average. I figure I should warm up a little, I'd hate to pull a hammy."

His dickish grin would return. "You know... you still sort of pushed again, pussy."

"I'd rather be a pussy then a little gay boy...You and your flashing your muscles to every male in this bar." Kagai would say, disregarding what he believed to be some kind of macho-esque display. He was probably trying to bluff Kagai into thinking he was more skilled than he truly was, which was a common practice. Shinobi are schooled in the ways of deception and it was always taught that avoiding a fight was always more acceptable then actually fighting. If you don't fight, there is no chance of death, but without fighting and death...how would they ever acquire the attention of the divines? It is through violent actions that one gained the attention of their deities, especially Lord Kojin. Kagai wasn't a violent man normally, as he believed he could find other ways of gaining favor with his lord, but when all else failed, a good ass beating always worked.

"Besides, all I am hearing from you is talk right now. I've initiated the fight twice already, and you haven't done a damn thing...So who is the pussy now, gay boy?" Kagai would ask, tilting his head off to the side a bit. He wondered if this guy was the defensive type, the ones that didn't attack and relied solely on other people attacking....Or if he was just biding his time and waiting to see if he could spot a flaw in Kagai's tactics. Either way, it was obvious this was going to be a long and drawn out battle.

He wanted to hear what his opponent had to say, not because he cared all that much but because it was a courtesy. Kagai had allowed him the time to say what he wanted without interjecting, so he would allow the same. It might not have been the smartest tactic, nor was it something most shinobi would utilized. They were trained in darkness to fight in shadows. Discreet was their creed and straightforwardness would be their downfall. Roku wasn't programmed that way. He understood the reason to fight like that and he could employ that method if necessary, but if he had a say he would refrain from such methods. He enjoyed fighting. Besides the best way to break the enemy...

His eyes would start to glow as his smirk turned from that of a total prick to that of a demon smirking at a hapless soul that had ventured before it. Sweeping across the ground his foot, along with the force that it seemed to generate from out of nowhere, would kick up broken pieces of the wooden furniture, dust and saw dust. The cloud would quickly propagate between the two combatants. At this time Kagai would have to make a decision and if he was a normal shinobi he would assume this was a method of creating an opening to get behind him. This was what Roku hoped would be his thought process. The veins in his legs would begin to bulge as his lower body muscles seemed to constrict at once. Within that split second his legs would thrust forward, pushing off with all his strength causing the ground to tear apart under him. Instead of appearing behind Kagai, the reckless youth would dart forward from the cloud of debris with his left arm coiled back. As his body reached a couple of feet before Kagai his rared back left arm would jettison forward with a punch that would not hold his full strength but if it connected it would definitely feel a lot harder than an average person's punch. Following behind the fist would be the sound of a loud, deafening pop and a small blast of air pressure that would go surging past.

The best way to break the enemy was always head on...

/It seemed things were about to become a lot more interesting now that the talking had stopped. After a moment of silence, the sound of crackling wood could be heard as the real Roku charged through the cloud of debris Kagai had created. He was moving at break-neck speed, which made Kagai think this was a setup. Nobody would be so foolish as to start a battle by attacking the most obvious spot....or would they be that foolish? Depending on the point of view, it could be seen as an insane risk, a brilliant risk, or both. Either way, Kagai assumed that this was a clone of some sort coming towards him and was expecting to be attacked from behind.

This assumption proved to be wrong. While expecting some form of attack from behind, Kagai noticed that nothing was coming, and before he could react to what was apparently his assailant coming straight at him, it was already too late. His opponent's punch would connect with his face. The resulting shockwave would make Kagai's face resembling jell-o after it had been slapped, and would be rather grotesque to look at through slow motion. The force of the punch would send the wild-eyed priest skidding across the ground, through a table and into a wall. He would of broken through the wall had it not been for the table that slowed him down. There was a ringing in his ears and his jaw hurt like a bitch as he fell out from the hole he had created in the wall and onto his knees. There was a silence, and then a subtle laugh which only seemed to grow louder as Kagai looked back up towards Roku. Blood was pooling around his mouth, and Kagai spat up what looked to be a puddle of blood with a tooth in it..."Well I'll be damned..." Kagai said as he stood himself up, laughing and wiping his mouth clean...."It's been awhile since someone caught me off guard...I almost feel bad that I have to kick the living shit out of you now!" Kagai would yell as he within a instant he had formed a quick set of handseals and take in a deep breath. He would bring his right hand up to his face, cupping his fingers around his lips and letting loose a torrent of flames towards Roku, making sure to make sweeping motions in case he tried to dodge the fire, completely disregarding the building or the other patrons.

The feeling of his fist driving into the fleshy cheek of Kagai was very satisfying. The sheer force of the two objects colliding was the reward for a taijutsu user. Getting to not only experience the full force of their own strength but the pain that they were inflicting upon their opponents was exhilarating. In many cases he was able to feel, hear or see the damage being done; bones breaking, flesh bruising, blood spurting upwards. This was not something those that used range attacks would be able to enjoy, this was the solemn joy of those that rush in close to their opponents. The only thing that would have made this moment better would have been hearing something break within the face of the one that had taken his name early in the encounter. This was not the case, sadly.

Shaking his hand, as if the punch had hurt him as well, Roku waited to see if this was going to be something that would continue. He took the hit cleanly but I don't think it put him down. It didn't shatter his face so that means his body has been hardened through training and chakra manipulation. He can take a beating, nifty. And much to his assumption, Kagai arose from his landing place. He gave some words before his attack continued, "Oh don't flatter me... I hate when my prey praises me." And with that the onslaught of fire would begin. Taking off horizontally he would try to keep himself in front of the numerous blast. The heat was gradually intensifying behind him and before him was a wall of the establishment. "Damn... I thought I was running to the door."

His words were laced with sarcasm as his left arm rared back once more, and just like last time the fist would jettison forward once more with an intense speed that those still watching this madness would be unable to trace. The stone, or maybe it was brick, wall before him erupted with the sound that mimicked a small scale explosion. This allowed him to stop his running from the pursuing fire. Turning his gaze back to the building a wicked smirk stretched across his face. His upper body began to swell as the chakra infusing with his muscles began to seep off of his body, like a colored mist. For the people now loitering around outside, this would be a bizarre sight. Kagai wouldn't be particularly phased.

The image of Roku would blur out of sight from those gawking, and would reappeared atop the bar. Doing something he had yet to do in awhile, his right arm would slowly cock backwards as his aim turned towards the very rooftop he stood upon. The reason this was amazing was because his right arm was his dominant arm so he was able to utilize his full strength with relative ease. So when fighting normals he would not only limit his full power but he would also only use his left arm, giving them the best chance to catch him off guard. Kagai was definitely a different creature than those in his past. He deserved the full force. Letting out a breath of air that literally appeared as if Roku was standing in below freezing weather, his body would pause before suddenly launching his right appendage forward with a good deal of his strength. The bodily chakra that was seeping from his body would quickly be drawn to his fist, giving it a bright glow. As his knuckles cracked down into the surface below him there would be a flash of light, followed by various sounds of explosions as cracks propagated from his contact point. Within moments the building would be reduced to rubble on top of Kagai. It was time to test the physical ability of his new ninjutsu using opponent.

OOC: In mid battle I've changed Roku's appearance and his personality a bit; none of which affects this battle. He is now the image of a pretty boy with a monstrous thirst for battle ;)

Well, this was interesting. It seemed that, instead of attacking him, Roku had turned his aggression towards the building itself. It seemed that he was leaving the bar, but for what purpose? Perhaps to give them some more room to finish this? Either way, Kagai wasn't going to just stand around. As he prepared to follow Roku out, his attention turned towards the roof. A large bang would be heard, quickly followed with crackling and crushing sounds. The building was collapsing around Kagai. His exits had been blocked off as the building imploded, and he had to think fast.

Without a second thought, Kagai would grit his teeth and extend his arms outwards horizontally. If one was to look at Kagai as this was going on, they would see a what appeared to be a glare of light go around his body [Think DBZ and how their shields went up]. The building would collapse on top of him, and he would be buried within various types of debris, pieces of stone, brick and wood laying on top of Kagai's psionic shield. Perhaps he could use this to his advantage and gain a momentary advantage over his opponent. Using it sort of like Sonar, Kagai would sense out his opponent's chakra to get a grasp on where he was, and once he had triangulated his position, he would erupt up and out from his barrier, soaring up quite high.

The air he was getting would of been surprising to the normal person, probably not so much to his opponent, but what would be interesting was the fact that it seemed some of the debris was following him up, staying level with him the whole time. He had taken hold of various rocks, wood splinters, and other forms of debris of various side with his psionic chakra, and would then use them as make-shift projectiles to send flying towards Roku. On top of that, Kagai would make a single hand seal and take in a deep breath and upon exhaling he would spew out five small fire balls. Unbeknownst to Roku, each fireball would have a hidden surprise within it. A sharp, spinning, metallic surprise that would probably cut him pretty deep on top of burn him unmercifully should any of them connect.

As things got quiet for a moment Roku would actually start to show signs of disappointment as his eyes searched around. Well now this wasn't how I was expecting it... Before his inner sadness could consume him, the energy freak Kagai would once more rise. This time, however, he was not rising alone, nor did it seem like he was going to stop rising. "Tricksy, tricksy..." On top of his opponent raising into the sky, he now had random chucks of debris flying towards him along with some fireballs. He is going to be a pain in the ass with all this, isn't he?

Quickly his eyes began to scan the rubble below him until seemingly finding what he was looking for. Thrusting both arms downward he would pull two objects from the rubble; a lifeless body and shattered piece of wood. The body was that of one of the patrons of the bar that was unable to make it from the collapse, the piece of wood was from something structurally and was about the length and width of his forearm, so essentially a crude club. With his 'weapons' in hand he would rush towards the onslaught of projectiles. Ideally he would try to power through projectiles with his own fist but since his opponent seemed to show a knack for fire jutsu Roku had to limit how many times he was hit by one of the attacks; even with his tough body taking multiple hits from fire based attacks would eventually start to wear on him.

The body served as his shield in his push forward. The thudding of objects into the lifeless flesh could have sickened most but Roku himself was not fixated on it, or even on the fact he was using a body in such a way. All he cared about was the battle. His movement would pause momentarily taking on the fire balls. When they hit the body they would cause flare ups that were more of an annoyance than anything. The fact that metal weapons were colliding into the body with the fireballs never dawned on Roku but he did notice that the body wasn't going to take much more damage before completely falling apart on him. For the remaining attacks he would hurl the burning, pummeled body at them and then turn his attention back to Kagai. With all his might he would cock back the piece of wood within his arm and rocket it forward toward his opponent.

Maybe he would get lucky and the wood would impale the bastard through the chest. If nothing else it would give the tai heavy warrior a chance to scan the area for his next tactic.

His opponent was quite resourceful, and apparently had a very strong stomach to boot. He had taken the limp body of one of the unlucky patrons that didnt make it out of the collapsing building and was using him, quite literally, as a meat shield to defend against his projectile barrage. Brilliant, and disgusting all at the same time, but all is fair during times of battle. You use anything and anyone to insure your own survival during wars. The body had apparently 'outlived' its usefulness to Roku as he threw what remained of it away to block some more of Kagai's attack, and then brought in an attack of his own.

He had what appeared to be a large piece of wood in his other hand, and was using that as his own projectile to throw at the airborne Kagai, whom was now on his decent back to the ground. His opponent had gauged the distance perfectly, along with the velocity needed to not only hit Kagai, but possibly go through him. With a cocky smirk, Kagai would raise up his hand and attempt to reach out and 'grab' the on-coming projectile to halt its movements and possibly send it back at Roku, but it proved more difficult than previously thought. While Kagai could 'feel' he had a grasp of the object, no matter how hard he tried, it wouldn't stop.

As soon as his feet touched the ground, Kagai brought up his other hand to try and halt the object, which was flying at deadly force. Being the stubborn ass he was, he wouldn't make himself give up on his endeavor and just dodge the projectile all together. It was slowing down, but Kagai couldn't stop it fully, and the wood debris hit him dead in the chest with enough force to knock him back on his ass. Had it not been slowed down, he probably would of probably been skewered, now all he had to deal with was a large bruise upon his chest.

He would slowly raise back to his feet, rubbing his chest in annoyance because of the throbbing pain caused from the wood projectile. Needless to say, his demeanor had changed. He was a bit more angry, and a lot more annoyed at this guy, and decided that it was time to get serious. Placing his hands into a few quick handseals, Kagai would bring back his arms and, with all his strength, chop downwards. This chopping motion would slice the air, and with aid from his chakra, produce two large whirlwinds which made a bee line towards Roku. They would pick up any stray debris, adding to their deadliness and cutting power as they flew towards their target.

It seemed that the floating pain in the ass would make his way back down to the ground, which thinking about it was even more perplexing since they were technically underground, what a silly world they lived in. Much to the joy of Roku his impromptu weapon would strike his opponent square in the chest, but much to his dismay it would not skewer the bastard as he had hoped. Instead it merely knocked Kagai down and pissed him off. Within the next few moments Kagai would slice his hands into the air causing two whirlwind forces to envelop the blonde hair teen.

The buzzing of the debris within the two attacks would be irritating enough, but coupled with the countless cuts that were blasting over his body it would seem like utter hell, well to most that is. As the attacks momentarily froze in place, mainly due to the stubborn ass that refused to get blown away, Roku could be faintly seen. The most notable change in his appearance would be the fact of most of his clothing were being cleaved away. And just as he had been caught in the winds, they would quickly tear past him blowing him back. His body, much like Kagai's earlier, would skip across the rubble of the building until finally rolling to a stop.

A normal person would have been torn to pieces by this point, possibly slowly bleeding out to their death. Most shinobi would also be in a pretty bad condition at this point. Roku, however, was slowly pulling himself back up. Across his body were newly made red lines of various degrees, His hair was matted down and dirty, he had already lost his shirt a while back and now his pants looked more like poorly made shorts. Spitting out a mouth full of blood Roku would smirk at his attacker. "You are a dangerous bastard, huh?" With that his body would slide into a unique stance, one that most, if any, martial artist wouldn't recognize. His eyes would close for a moment and quickly snap back open, once more appearing as two glowing orbs within his skull.

It was time to take this battle to the next stage...

Kagai would remain silent as his opponent spoke. It seemed he was finally acknowledging his skill, and truth be told, Roku had some tricks up his sleeve as well. It seemed, thus far, that they were polar opposites. Kagai had always preferred the long-range approach, but had no qualms about getting into the nitty-gritty if needed. While it wasn't exactly needed right now, he felt it was time to ditch the Ninjutsu and go in physically for the kill. With a smirk upon his face, Kagai would lower himself down into a somewhat known stance. He didn't excel in hand-to-hand, but he could hold his own.

Figuring he would start up this round, Kagai would kick off from the dusty ground, running quickly towards Roku while cocking his arm back. With a leap into the air, Kagai would suddenly change tactics and instead go for a left kick to his opponents chin. He had hoped to take him off guard with this tactic, which would give Kagai an opening to unleash his 4-hit combo which consisted of two punches into the stomach-solar plexus area, a punch to the middle of the chest, and ending with an uppercut to the chin. While they weren't powerful blows, he was aiming for vital spots, which would give his blows some extra damaging power behind them.

It seemed that Kagai was finally going to get into the spirit of things, and enjoy the thrill of feeling the pain of his opponent. This made Roku smirk for a brief second, but he would not allow himself to get thrown out of his mindset, the mindset that accompanied the Zaraki fighting style. And with that Kagai would appear before him, his leg jettisoning up towards his chin. Well this is going to hurt like a bitch... And that happened to be the true. The power of the kick sent his head snapping upwards, while his body maintained its footing. What then followed as a series of punches.

The thud connecting with his stomach would generate enough force to cause his head to lower back down as his body began to hunch, as if collapsing at the point of attack. Before he continue fold any further another strike would land in the center of his chest, straightening his back once more. "I suppose that was polite" might be something he would sarcastically quip at this point in time if, however, a final punch hadn't reconnected with his chin. His head would find itself snapping back once more, this time causing his feet to raise up bringing him to balancing on both of his heels. The points of his feet would dig into the ground, trying to maintain their firm location but would give away, digging deeper into the soil as the force of the attack seemed to be more than the dirt could withstand.

Not it was easy to assume that Kagai may have used this attack with the intention of crippling his opponent, and if nothing else knocking their ass to the ground. Roku, however, was a little bit different than an average person. Within the split second following the final hit his left arm would snap upwards taking a hold of the wrist of the arm that had just landed the final blow. Lowering his head down, blood misting out of his mouth with every breath, Roku would give an dark red smile as it was his turn. As seamlessly as blinking, Roku's right arm would snap forward into the dead center of Kagai's chest. He was curious if Kagai would notice that this punch was a bit different than a normal one, as if it had the strength of a bull charging into his chest... a bull that had been mutated and turned into a super, ramming monster.

It was time to see if Kagai was enjoying his stay in the taijutsu side of life.
