Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Bottom-feeders and degenerates, that and the vermin were what you would find in the Red Light District. Alleged cousin to that Steward who has imprisoned her brother, who rejected her nature and her affections, and sent her son to his ultimate demise. She would make him feel her pain. Perhaps she could not make him know her fear, her trepidation that she would share Mikaboshi's predicament. She could hurt him. Take from him something precious. Take from him something that was his.

Shiori stalked the narrow passageways of the Red Light District. Cluttered with refuse and debris she listened carefully for the sounds of a young Takahashi clansman. She had heard his voice only briefly, her attentions not on who he was but rather the company he kept and his likeness to her lost son. She took a deep breath, took in the stale scents of this vile place. She closed her eyes and started to hum a melody, taking heed of the gentle reverberations off the walls. The melancholy sounds filled this dreary place. She stopped when she reached the end of the ally and opened her large teal eyes. She spied someone.

Two legs...

Two arms...

A head...

Sounds like it must be him. "I have come to take you home," she announced to someone who she thought was Jin'ichi.

Riyota let out a small burp as he walked along, his belly full after...'dining'...in one of the nearby pubs of the red lights. He had no clear idea of a direction to take from there, all he could do was pat his stomach and smile contentedly along the dusty trail. He kicked along a tin that had been tossed aside by whomever had finished consuming it's contents. He remembered other children playing some sort of game where they kicked around a similar tin, that had all been from the confines of his home. When he wasn't allowed to go outside much.

He thought about things he could do for the rest of the day. Training...I could go visit a friend...except I don't know where anyone lives... his face fell slightly as he realised his day would probably be spent either training or sleeping. Little did he know that an echoing voice would add a third option to that list. "I have come to take you home."

"Whu-"

Wha?-"

"Who's there?" was all the boy stammered out to the street he had thought was empty.

A darkness emanated from the ally that this Ancient sang from. Shiori emerged from the shadows and with a flick of the wrist she caused a rolling wave of sand to sweep past her, evading the grim woman as she sung her haunting melody by traveling to either of the partially armored woman before the duo of waves united before her and attempted to wash the young man away. She snapped her fingers as she continued her approach and the earth beneath started to crack and a fissure formed down the center of the road. A cold expression was painted over her face. The ground quavered and quaked, a dull rumble unsettled the buildings adjacent.

"Whu-"

Wha?-"

"Who's there?"

The dire song ceased, but the darkness lingered moments longer after the siren's cry surceased.

"Your cousin," she remarked as she swept her hand to the side and the fissure opened wide as if a great maw. The earthen floor broke away. "We will send Sousuke my regards." She was prepared with a counter, if Jin'ichi tried to take her with him into the depths. Into the earth. Into her domain. A spike of earth would impale them both, try to get away then. Then they would see who has the greater fortitude.

OC: Just T2, feel free to evade or get a hit in. I have a written intended counter if you want to roll with it but you do not have to. Also, help will be on its way soon!

This wasn't normal, but was also not the first time the ground had found itself splitting underneath the boy's feet. He had not overly enjoyed the experience last time and so he attempted to move out of the way of the growing fissure. However the crack was expanding faster than he could evade it, and the falling sand was causing him to slip, and soon he fell down onto his backside, slowly being pulled in by the ground. The voice came again, amongst the sudden silence. "Cousin? What are you talking about I don't have a cous-..." the boy couldn't finish his sentence as the ground ripped open and swallowed him whole as he tumbled down into the abyss.

"Cousin? What are you talking about I don't have a cous-..."</B><i></i>

The earth broke away and the boy plummeted into the depths. Shiori reached out and grabbed the boy by the collar, his heels on the ledge she would have her arm hovering over what would seem to be a bottomless pit. Of course there was no such thing as bottomless pits in the physical and real world, perhaps this was a product of fantasy and illusion or perhaps it was indeed so deep that the concept of a bottom was a remote consideration. Assuming Shiori was allowed this intimate proximity she would look at the human for the first time. Wasn't Jin'ichi older? That was the right term. Taller? Mayhaps. The hair and the skin. Nothing was even close. Shiori would glower at her own folly. <B>"You look familiar," she would rumble.

If she was not able to grab a hold of the boy and allow him to hover over the abyss, rather she would see him laying on the ground believing that he was falling for an eternity. The same conclusion would be had, but the terrible illusion would surely have greater import than a madwoman's query.

In either situation, the illusion would cease and the ground would seal. There was nothing wrong with the Red Light District and its excellent people who could steal, smoke and fuck another day. There was however something very wrong with Riyota. What had less value than a Takahashi? Something that was not a Takahashi. She wanted to make Sousuke suffer. She wanted to hurt him. She wanted him to feel something towards her. She wanted him to feel as bitter and resentful as she did. She sighed. She was not even hungry. She eyed him again, there was something off. A sense of de ja vu. Riyota had crossed paths with her once before, once in the narrow dusty ally. He was practice.

She took a sharp breath through her nose and waited for these visions to pass. "Sousuke always had a thing for kids," Shiori commented. She extended her hand to the unfortunate youth. "Sadly, I was a mother enough times to know where to draw the line," she admitted with a shade of apology in her voice. "But," she added with a smile "...that does not mean you do not have value." That did not mean that she would not hurt children, quite the contrary in fact but she was still raw from her own personal losses. She would hurt him. She would leave him. She would make sure that Sousuke found him. That the kid would be saved but that Sousuke would feel the warm blood of these youths run through his fingers. That he would know that this was all his fault.

"Woah!" Riyota called out in surprise as he was precariously dangled by his collar. His arms and legs flailing wildly as he tried to reclaim solid ground. Eventually the woman pulled him away and the fissure closed. Regaining his breath and slowly getting to his feet he stared dead at the woman who had just had the power to kill him not 5 seconds ago. She had said he was familiar, but though he tried. He couldn't put a name to her face, as she spoke it was clear she knew Sousuke personally.

"Don't mean to be rude...but you don't seem to have great parenting skills." he smirked, conveniently forgetting that this woman clearly had it in her power to murder him on the spot. He hoped he would have time to find out her name. That was until she started talking about him having value. It wasn't in a nice 'You're special' sort of way. It was more of a 'I'm going to hold you at ransom' sort of way. He didn't like how she was looking at him, and so he attempted to take a few steps back...slowly.

She had other ambitions on this day. She planned to take Sousuke's 'cousin' assuming he was the man that they both claimed. Of course Jin'ichi's blood ties were less relevant than the affections Sousuke harbored for him. The Kazekage would find Jin'ichi's used and cursed body in his office soon enough. She could not let this -other- human go, not after he saw her face but their departure required less fanfare. The scene of a screaming youth being held precariously over intact earth for the lay observer or writhing on the ground would garner unwanted attention even in a seedy place such as this where people turned a blind eye to tragedy. If this was Jin'ichi, she would have had an explanation for this scene. A plan for the valiant response.

"Don't mean to be rude...but you don't seem to have great parenting skills."

The smart ass replied before he realized the peril he was in... perhaps. He took a step back and while he did so Shiori started to hum a haunting melody. "Hush, mum knows best--" she cooed. She was casting Temple of Nirvana through the power of her word which was that in and of itself subjugation. This melancholy lullaby that would pull him into a deep slumber if the sweet pitch perfect sounds wrapped through his brain. The teen would prove insubstantial, at least in terms of mass but not necessarily in mental fortitude but if this was effective he would be easily transported. Also, easily disposed of.

OC: Stopping here to determine consent before moving forward. Note to readers, what is to transpire here is a collaborative effort and if at any time the user I am RPing with wishes to terminate the topic he may do so without IC or OC consequence from myself. The next post will be rather lengthy in comparison due to previous discussion myself and Riyota have had in terms of what he is looking for in a story.

Riyota didn't like the look he was receiving. He liked it even less when the Woman in front of him began humming some sort of weird tune that Riyota had never heard before. Mum knows best?...what is she-... The boy lost his train of thought as the rhythm grew louder in his head. Making it difficult to think straight. It wasn't a nasty song though...it was surprisingly...quite soothing.

Despite himself Riyota let out a small yawn as his stance began to waver. The rhythm was extremely relaxing, and very much like a lullaby. The boy found himself unable to resist, as he didn't even know what was going on in the first place, and so, after a few more moments. His body sat there zombie-like, as his mind went temporarily comatose.

[Short post...apologies, but my consent is given for anything from here on out]

He started to teeter. She waited for the teen's knees to buckle and for Riyota to fall into a deep slumber. He would be insubstantial, at least in mass as he could be easily transported even with a mortal-like strength. Also easily disposed of one could assume.

She brought him to a place she knew well. It was demolished for the most part, the ceiling ripped away and what remained of this dilapidated structure was bowing. The doors refused to seal as the doorframes were askew. The windows cracked and shattered, they were boarded up. . The doors themselves barricaded closed, chains fortified these passages meagerly. It had been months since the assault. It would be a lie to suggest that it alone changed her, but it was a part of what made her into this spiteful being. what made her learn the concept of true fear. For some, they fear pain. For others, it would be loss. For her it was the fear of subjugation. Death had lost relevance years ago, pain and power were fleeting and while loss still weighed heavily on her soul, she had nothing left to lose.

She did not rip the chains from the door, rather with the youth still slung over her shoulder lulled to sleep by her wicked song she scaled the face of the building, her energies much like the chakra humans use were drawn to her feet. She simply stepped forward onto the wall and continued to walk. The roof was 'replaced' or rather was put back on top of the damaged building. It was ill-fitting. beams broke and the structure itself had shifted, the roof itself was in less than pristine condition and was cock-eyed. Entry was as simple as descending though the opening.

There was no electricity inside. Perhaps too damaged by the rescue party or the abandoned motel was no longer being provided this service. Not that it mattered, the darkness prevented her 'vision' as much as a strong scent would. The sound of her own voice, the click of her heels, the slow steady rhythm, of Riyota's heart, even the sounds of air forcing his lungs ro expand filled this otherwise silence space with sound. She did not hesitate when she came to the door. She had stared at it for some time when Shouki had her. While some consider this to be a place that would bring back wretched memories - the sights, the smells and the sounds. It was more the sentiments that would make her remember. It was those sentiments that could fill her with dread in the dead of night.

Her plan was cruel. She returned to the place nobody believed that she would be willing to return to -- to the site of her own abduction and torture. Those injuries were real. The pain and the proximity to death was also real. They never removed Shouki;s playthings. The room seemed more like a sick memorial to Shouki's violent proclivities. The overturned chairs that she and that strange woman were tied to had evidence of wear from the ninja wire that he used to restrain them and these markings could still be seen on the chair's profile. His tools were still laid out on the otherwise bare table in some sort of sadistic display. The barrel from which she was ritualistically drowned in was empty, its contents had long ago evaporated. She could still small the stale scent of her old blood. Her losses as well as those of his other victim were far from insubstantial.

She dropped Riyota in one of the metal chairs and pulled a spool of wire from the table. She wrapped his wrists and ankles carefully as she continued to hum a quiet lullaby. It was a familiar pose, one she had experienced twice in recent days, much to her chagrin. Her song stopped abruptly. He would awaken to the tarry blackness and absolute silence of the void. He would quickly discover that he could not move but he could call out into the darkness but he would not know who would answer.

He would feel something creep along his neck and over his cheek. It was only her finger, "Are you familiar with a one Takahashi Sousuke?" She would brush her fingers through his hair, her fingertips would run over his scalp. Not painfully so, more like the bored movement of fingers attempting to determine their next course of action.

"You were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time," she confided as her fingers escaped his mused-up strands and a finger tapped his left wrist restraint. A jolt of electrcity arched visibly from her fingertip into the metal wire. This boy of course had a habit of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. This was in fact their second meeting.

"You see... someone needs to be in peril. Every hero needs a damsel," she explained as she tapped his wrist a second time and allowed a current of pure energy to escape into the unfortunate youth. "Heroes make victims necessary I am afraid," her hand pressed against his breastbone and a larger blast of energy was released into the young boy. The energy escaped from the boy in snaking, twisting arcs before dispersing in the air. "You... are a random, senseless victim. Not for boredom or lust, not for avarice or anger towards you. You and I both for now are TOOLS of a false hero." She did not see Sousuke as the protagonist in this matter, but Sousuke did. A man compelled to inaction with consequences most dire. "Such a cruel fallacy," she mused as yet another shock was released from her hand, this one significantly more powerful than the previous and it illuminated the vile space so that Riyota could see the state of his confinement.

She would take care to not kill him. she needed him alive and for the most part intact. He needed to call Sousuke. Sousuke needed to hear this young man's cries for help. he needed to hop on his white horse and come to his rescue. He needed to fight her and he needed to WIN. His sense of legal justice would defer her execution. The boy would walk away, the victim of an assault and perhaps permanently changed as a result but she would claim her part in all of this was a lie. That Sousuke had become dangerously unhinged. Sousuke's announcement that she was Suna would only support this. Revered as a deity rather than an Ancient, humanity's recollection of her nature was less than accurate. Why would she step foot in a place of such trauma? She would ask. Sousuke was only feigning the role of hero. she would cry, reminding those who witnessed her rescue that she could barely sleep through the night considering the fact that she survived true hell. It was not a complete lie of course. That being how she would pull at the sinews of their hearts. The boy was manipulated. Corerced. FORCED to comply with the Steward's terrible tale. Her poor cousin - he was mentally ill.

She pulled out a headset.

It's dark...where am I? thoughts like these were what was running through the boy's head. He attempted to sit up from his seated position only to realize he was restrained to whatever sort of chair he was sitting in. He swiftly tensed as something touched the side of his face. The same voice he had heard earlier asked him if he knew of Sousuke. He didn't know this Woman and didn't know what she wanted with Sousuke, so he replied as calmly as he could. "Never heard of him..." He could feel her fingers in his hair, and he couldn't help but shiver.

As she spoke to him...telling him he was not an intended victim he felt a strong, sharp pain course through his arm. He spasmed for a moment and grunted, gritting his teeth, not wanting to give her the satisfaction of screaming. He let his head fall forward as he took a sharp breath. She explained to him vague details of what was truly happening, why she was using him. He felt her hand touch his shirt just over his chest as she blasted him again. This caused a brief cry of pain from the boy as his mental defenses began to break and his cursed seals began to glow beneath his clothing, responding to the pain.

She shocked him once more, this one was far more in comparison to those prior and the boy let out a loud scream of pain, the combination of the shock and the curse seals feeling like they were burning through his flesh. His mind was placed in an evermore precarious position as he heard the woman retrieve something from her pocket. "What is it...that you're...trying to do?... he asked her, in between difficult breaths.

"What is it...that you're...trying to do?...

The boy rasped. She did not answer him, not immediately while she pulled a headset from her pocket. It was a small, rather aged artifact in comparison to the ones kids these days used. She placed the earbud inside Riyota's ear canal, the earhook behind his ear. The microphone jutted out from the earpiece in front of the boy's mouth. "I need you to make a phone call for me," Shiori replied. She sighed, she would not be able to use lightning ninjutsu any longer with the headset in place, that would mean that she would have to transition over to something more akin to the Tsuchimikado from which Sousuke's lineage shared the traits of. Truly not her forte, bending metal to her will seemed so... so... churlish. That was what Shouki's toys were for, those unclean, warped implements. Some were covered in red sand still. Some covered in darkened gore.

She picked up something that reminded her or a corkscrew. Shouki had never used it so it looked clean, not that sanitation was her primary concern. "You see, I need you to bring Sousuke a message. A very important one. The kind that burning buildings neglect." She was of course referring to the Residential area and the house fire that started in Sousuke's own home. The pyromaniac responsible was not her, not that time but it forced her to leave the scene prematurely. It forced her to have to deal with Mikaboshi. It forced her to deal a more forceful hand. She rammed the end of the corkscrew-like device into the boy's thigh. It did not go far, perhaps that was why it was not preferable - it did not cut cleanly or easily. She twisted the handle. It did, however... turn easily.

She let go of the corkscrew and tapped the side of the boy's headset. It would simply stay there, half-buried in the boy's flesh. "I am the villain this village needs," she stated out loud. "But only a villain for humanity, there will be some that see me as a hero and this unfortunate incident as collateral damage." There was a change in the tone of her voice, as if she was trying to make conversation with her victim. She was never a fan of animal cruelty after all. She turned the dial on the boy'd headset to a private frequency: Sousuke's. Static would likely be heard on Riyota's end, that is until the steward happened to notice he was receiving an incoming transmission.

"So I am going to need you to do something very important for me..." her voice trailed off as she realized she did not even know her victim's name. "What is your name...?"

She waited a moment for an answer, her hand ran over a series of tools. Some clattered under her fingers. She stopped when her fingers found a long, somewhat dull metallic object most similar to an ice-pick. The length of the rough object was about that of her forearm and the diameter thicker than her thumb. Shouki had used this on her, she could still feel the grit from her blood. It did not matter if he answered her question, only then she would have a name to use when she gave him his first instruction. "[Possible Insertion of Name], I need you to scream now." With that statement as it was not a warning she plunged the ice pick into Riyota's other thigh. She had been through this before, almost exactly where he was. It was not a place she ever wished to return to, and it was only by fortune and ironically the very man she was now seeking to destroy that she even survived. Yet still, she abandoned her sympathies when something more primal than comradery reared its head. She wanted above all else to survive - living truly subjugated to another;s will was no existence for her and for now she was on borrowed time. She needed to throw the Steward off balance now before he was fully organized. Before he created another god-breaking weapon.

"I'm sorry," she whispered, perhaps too softly to be heard as she released the ice pick. "But we both have a job to do here."

Sousuke was working at his desk, another late night as it were. This was one of those slow burn nights. He was tempted to go to sleep and work on the rest. His body did need rest, but Sousuke was able to sleep during the day. His sleep schedule was a work in progress. Something curious happened as his headset beeped. An incoming call at this hour? It was something that was already a concern. He reached for the chord and attached it to the speaker. Before accepting the call, he hit the record button. There was a tape deck present, Sousuke had a habit of recording his calls mainly due to having to come back to them for various reasons. Usually environmental noises were a tell as to where people were, or dire circumstances. Things were worth listening to a second time.

"I am the villain this village needs, but only a villain for humanity, there will be some that see me as a hero and this unfortunate incident as collateral damage."

This was not a good start. Sousuke continued listening. She-- she what? WHAT? Sousuke waited waited for the scream that would follow. Riyota would hopefully maintain some sense of self after this. The children always seemed to suffer. "Riyota."<i></i> He would speak calmly and coolly. This is what he needed to do. He could not risk destabilizing himself and allowing this ... merging of souls with the Toraono aspect. "As impossible task at this may seem, keep calm. I am coming. Describe to me the place where you are, if you can. Colour of the walls, are the walls dirty? Which district do you think you are in?"<i></i> Details. Details. Details. Sousuke flipped the switch and turn the frequency to a table top one. He approached a wall while still listening. This was in all good consideration, a trap. Sousuke approached a simply blank wall. He placed three fingers on the wall and made a swirling motion with it. Several clicks were heard as the wall shifted downward revealing an armoury. Sousuke passed by several amours. He stopped by one that was the Mikaboshi Mk. He thought about using this design to best Shiori. That was an option.

Stopping Shiori demanded something more well... she needed to be stopped. The design was not ready. He approached a glass case. It was of an armour design some thought the One King took. Sousuke sighed. This armour was not tested. Maybe now was the best time to test it. Ancients were stopped by Primus before. It would take another Primus to do so, Katuso who was of that lineage was no where to be found, and so it came to this. "Shiori. Be warned now, you have forced my hand. You will be dealt with appropirately as per all ancients in the past have been."<i></i> He spoke.

The woman finally explained what she needed the boy for, though she did make it difficult to listen as whilst she did so she began twisting a corkscrew into his leg. Riyota cried out in pain once more as tears began to form in his eyes. She let the corkscrew remain and tapped the headset which she had placed on his head, beginning to explain her reasoning for what she was doing. The one question Riyota had not expected to hear, she had asked him his name? Up until this point she hadn't seemed to care, so this was very odd indeed. Part of him wished not to answer her question, or lie. However as he thought more on it he realized that this would continue either way. Perhaps if he was honest, she would stop at least for a while and he could regain complete control of himself. The way things were going now, if this went on...The cursed energies would flood his mind and break it.

"My name...is...Riyota" he said to her, slowly and his hopes were swiftly rendered null as something sharp quickly found it's way into his other leg. As Riyota cried out in pain once more...a voice came through on the headset. "Sousuke...It's too dark, I can't even see the walls...but...you shouldn't come here...It's too dangerous." he told the man over the headset. He knew the Steward would argue that he could easily bring down Shiori and Riyota would eventually give in on that matter, but that wasn't what Riyota was worried about. The more pain he received at the current time. The closer the cursed energies within him would get to corrupting his mind. He wanted to tell Sousuke to stay away while he was still in control of himself.

Unlike Shouki, Shiori was a novice. Clumsily seeking vengeance and victory through a tyrant's means. Certainly there would be a time for regret and remorse, but that would not be today. She had a narrow window of opportunity for success, which ironically would only be won through defeat. "I am sorry, Riyota. Sorry to see this done to you."</B><i></i> She cooed as she twisted the corkscrew a half-turn. "You...

"Riyota."

A faint voice crackled over the static and Shiori cut herself short when she heard the muffled familiar voice. She smiled into the darkness. "You,"<i></i> Shiori repeated "do know him." She let out a low laugh. "Good, then this will not be a senseless exercise." She pulled the ice-pick from the young man's thigh. The wound was substantial, blood would flow freely. "I have never done this before," she confided in a whisper-like voice that was still loud enough for even Sousuke to discern. "You and I are a lot alike. Both of us victims for the Kazekage's benefit."<i></i> She pulled a vial from her dress pocket. "I was a victim as well, taken by a,member of the Cabal. Not for a personal slight, idle interest or anything to do with who I was. I was of no value besides my ability to summon... Or better said compel the Steward to come." She popped the cork off of the vial, it made an audible sudden sound. "I know the pain you are experiencing as if it was my own. I understand that hopeless sense that permeates your soul."<i></i> She poured the vial contents into the open, still bleeding wound. A run of the mill, caustic poison that leaves a searing sense on contact. Much like pouring alcohol on a wound. "...I experienced your fear. It started as confusion, I did not know where I was. Why I was there. What he would do. Soon after, he started cutting me and he laughed. I felt shame -- not just the shame of defeat but also the fact that I screamed so loud and painfully that I could not recognize my own voice. Then came fear. At first it was the fear of pain, but eventually I became resigned to my fate. I only feared the fact that I would continue to live."

"As impossible task at this may seem, keep calm. I am coming. Describe to me the place where you are, if you can. Colour of the walls, are the walls dirty? Which district do you think you are in?"
<i></i>
Sousuke assaulted the victim with a series of questions. No promises. He never said 'everything was going to be okay' or that 'he was going to help him.' There was no human comfort in the words he spoke. "At least say something kind. Do more for him than you did me," Shiori interjected. "At least let him believe the fallacy of human kindness."

"Sousuke...it's too dark, I can't even see the walls...but...you shouldn't come here...it's too dangerous."
<i></i>

Riyota warned as he gave what little he knew, which was nothing. "Expectations,"<i></i> Shiori interrupted. Sousuke should recognize the name, it was the same site Shouki had taken her and Daiki. "I am sure you know the way." She rested her hand on Riyota's bound wrist and released another electrical current into him. She could not let the boy bleed out, the purpose was not death.

<B>"Shiori. Be warned now, you have forced my hand. You will be dealt with appropriately as per all ancients in the past have been."<i></i>

Sousuke threatened. Her hand rested on Riyota's shoulder but there was no painful blast that followed. "Yes, come here and hurt me Sousuke. Feed your wrath. You're not coming to save the boy, you are coming for me with your given excuse. It makes me want to ask: who between us has an ounce of humanity?"<i></i>

Sousuke listened to Riyota explain where they were. Dark. Indoors. Most likely underground. The boy warned Sousuke that he should not come. Sousuke flipped a switch and the glass case opened up. He listened to Shiori speak of how she was tortured. "You forget Shiori. I came for you, as I will come for Riyota. Shouki was defeated. Mikaboshi had his hands around your being and he was made to stop. I am of the mind that you lied to me, you said he was helping you. That did not at all look like he was helping you."<i></i> Sousuke opened up the chest peice of the armour. He began to feed it chakra. The Takahashi were men and women of metal. They could pour feelings into their works. This armour was born with a sense of hate in its frame. Ever nut, bolt, plate, everything had an absolute hatred for Ancients residing in it. From Fuujin, to Homura, to Murderess Suna, to Mikaboshi even who had eluded him. They would all feel a primordial unnatural hate. Did the original Primus act out of hatred? Perhaps. Thus, this metal monster was amongst the many ways he would protect people. "You may be right in some aspects Shiori, but Riyota I have known for a long time. He is a student of mine, and I will save him from your cruelty."<i></i> The recording continued to roll. Sousuke encased himself within his metal. His attempt to re-create Primus itself. "I will stop you. That entails several things and many methods. I merely need to chose one."<i></i> Now completely armoured, Sousuke stood taller than he ever did. The armoured suit looked much like that statue of Primus on the Kazekage tower. Perhaps it was the statue?

Sousuke collapsed the wall before leaving the room entirely. It would merely now look like it had always been undisturbed. "Riyota. Try not to go into shock. The woman who has involved you with this is not right, she is ill in the highest degree..."<i></i> Criminally insane? Entirely possibe, but Sousuke was not going to reveal to Riyota what she was. It would be the ramblings of a madman, but then again Riyota had endured that encounter with the Outsider. "Riyota. You survived an encounter with an Outsider. You will survive this. You will do as I have done, as my deceased father has done, his father before him, and his father thrice before him."<i></i> Words of power. Words of encouragement. The large metallic frame approached the launch springboard. The hulking mass of metal took a seat and prepared itself. Within seconds the form was launched.

It would only take Sousuke moments to reach Expectations. Unlike the last time, the roof was not ripped apart. A metallic form would burst from the wall. The metallic juggernaut would appear amongst the dust. The eyes of t he helmet glowed white. For Shiori this might have been her worst nightmare given form. An image of Primus, moving, and now talking, in the flesh. "This is your last warning. "<i></i> The voice rumbled. It certainly was not identifiable as Sousuke. "Release the boy. You will be permitted to leave."<i></i> This armour was something beyond what Sousuke was normally able to create. This was something that far exceeded any of his old designs. Would Shiori release Riyota? Probably not. It would boil down to him fighting her. Here and now. Sousuke had both Skull Splitter and a new form of the Black Blade on hand. The weapon had been cast now in silver. Both weapons were sheathed, but perhaps not for much longer.

Riyota screamed and ground his teeth together as the poison stung his wound, it was taking every bit of energy and will to not succumb to the madness within himself. With all his effort focused on that he was unable to heal himself with any of his abilities, natural or...otherwise. "I hope...you understand that...it's kind of tricky...for me to feel...sorry for you...right now." the boy gasped out, inbetween coughing out bits of blood. Sousuke's words came through the headset, encouraging him to continue, to keep struggling onwards, but they came through one ear and passed out the other...the boy was struggling to keep focus.

As he heard a crashing noise, he knew Sousuke had arrived to save him, and a tear rolled out of his eye. Partly because of the physical pain, but partly because he knew he couldn't keep himself controlled much longer...and may even end up dead before the next sunrise. Why Sousuke? I told you...to stay away. these thoughts ran through the boy's mind.

Before Sousuke's 'heroic' entrance:

"I hope...you understand that...it's kind of tricky...for me to feel...sorry for you...right now."

The unfortunate Riyota coughed. He was simply the unlucky victim in this scenario. "I am not looking for your pity. I just wanted you to understand that nothing that happens to you here and now is your fault," she replied in a cold tone. His blood loss had become substantial, the burns she had inflicted onto him were also considerable at this point. The boy had such fortitude, this was such a waste of a perfectly good future meal. He was dying, did he even know? She did not hurt the boy again.

"You forget Shiori. I came for you, as I will come for Riyota. Shouki was defeated. Mikaboshi had his hands around your being and he was made to stop. I am of the mind that you lied to me, you said he was helping you. That did not at all look like he was helping you."

"I did not forget a thing Sousuke," Shiori protested. The Steward's transmitted voice sounded metallic as it was relayed over the headset. He reminded her of his heroic acts as if they were her debts. He brought up her brother; the breaking point in their relationship. "Mikaboshi..." she started to say something before she cut herself off and shook her head side to side. "...was being handled." Yes, Sousuke was right, Mikaboshi was not helping her. That was only a revelation to a world-class fool. It was never the fact that Sousuke stopped the Deep Court Lord b ut rather how he did it that planted the seeds of trepidation in her heart.

Yes, she was afraid of him. That part was not a lie and perhaps one of the few truths she had told in a long, very long time.

"You may be right in some aspects Shiori, but Riyota I have known for a long time. He is a student of mine, and I will save him from your cruelty."

She took a breath. "Save him then... he is badly injured," Shiori advised as she steeled her resolve. Soon, soon enough she would no longer be in control. Better now than later, before Sousuke made good on his threat to recreate the god-killing weapon. Better to face him before he became a legitimate threat. Now an all-out battle would only result in a stalemate and even if she suffered a 'terminal loss,' the long-term effects would be inconsequential. She would return eventually, time barely had value to her. When she came back, nobody would remember her.

"I will stop you. That entails several things and many methods. I merely need to chose one."

"We both know that you had no affection for me, logic dictates your choices. When it suited you I would share my brother's fate." She growled as she rested her hand on Riyota's shoulder. "You are a selfish, unfeeling man, Shiori announced. "You have no ethic! No hesitation! No remorse! My time with you has changed me Sousuke and I am afraid it is not for the better. Through your arrogance and lust for power that is not yours, you have started a war and your people will suffer for your pride and lack of humanity." Shiori's hand turned a vibrant verdant that glowed in the darkness. She was healing Riyota. He was on the cusp of death and he had suffered enough for Sousuke's superbity. "What peace we could have known has been extirpated because of your affront... because of threat you possess that you so wantonly practice." The glow was almost blinding, that which escaped her hand. "You are unworthy of the station you have been granted as your birthright. Unfit to lead your dying people. Undeserving of the love you will never share!"

While she ranted and healed, Sousuke talked to Riyota. Told him to hang on, even if it was for a little longer. All he did was tell Riyota to survive as if it was his choice or within his power to do so without external intervention. He was coming, but he still never said it. He never promised the boy anything. Never even feigned an emotional link between them.

<=== OC: Ray, could not help myself.

IC:
And finally the hero came crashing through a wall donning gilded armor. Shiori's eyes widened, this was not a thing of nightmares but rather that of a fantasy. She was excluded from the wars by her Court's inherent nature and limit and she watched her entire world burn away. The armor was not the same but it was close.

"This is your last warning."

The armored 'hero' rumbled. Shiori only smiled with glee and anticipation. "I was hoping for Sousuke, but you will have to do." Shiori announced as she broke into song. It was a haunting melody that would only become more advanced as the seconds passed and her words of subjugation overwhelmed the armored savior.

"Release the boy. You will be permitted to leave."

Shiori shook her head as if to say 'no.' "He is for Sousuke," she answered eerily despite the sorrowful sound that seemed to fill the space. "But, I am more than willing to make an exchange. You for him." This was the boy's chance to break out, in fact he might not have realized it but when she kicked him away from her side she broke the wire that held his right hand. All he had to do was release his own restraints. "Actually, never mind. There is no need to make deals ...Sunahoshi?" Shiori made an inquiry of his name with a hint of hope in her voice. "You will not be leaving here," she declared as she stared down the strange armored man, her eyes tried to bore into him. Was he Sousuke? A progeny of Primus? A prissy guard? It did not matter, not today.

She was going to fight him. She was going to break him. Then she was going to find Sousuke and finish her intended task.

Actions:
  • 0 AP - Shiori declares duelist against Sousuke +2 Genjutsu DC
2 AP - Shiori uses Snapshot [Mastered]
    • Note: This would be considered a hidden action
1 AP - Shiori creates a pair of Clones [Mastered] using Enthralling Voice [Rank 3].
    • This is considered to be a visual genjutsu and a clone
2 AP - Shiori starts to sing Requiem of Death [Rank 3].
    • This is considered to be an Audial/Will Genjutsu
3 AP - Shiori casts Parasitic Infection [Mastered] on Sousuke using Enthralling Voice [Rank 3].
    • This is considered to be a kinetic genjutsu
2 AP - Shiori creates a Ghost Dancer [Rank 3].
    • This is considered to be a creation jutsu.
End of Round: Shiori casts Cancel using Willpower to make this a free action.

For the sake of clarity - seeking to fill every genjutsu sense slot as listed above. Creating a clone and a creation.

This is a learning experience, you will be doing the rolls Sousuke and I will be explaining how things work. Make me regret hurting Riyota!

Sousuke noticed Shiori's smile. It was the type of smile one would have when things were going exactly their way. Sousuke was on guard, Shiori would not be underestimated in any way here and now. He could not have easily guessed the number of souls she had consumed during their last engagement. "I will have to do, for now." The voice rumbled back at her. The singing began and Sousuke had seen this before. This was how she fought, with her voice, it was a song of power one that the giant was subjected to. Her song had continued as she inquired about making a deal. Strangely the woman had inquired if he was a Sunahoshi. Sousuke thought about answering to her as one. It was the one thing she wanted to kill oh so very badly. At the very least he could give her what she wanted, in a way. More importantly if he could indeed stop her here and now, all the better. No. That would be dangerous, dangerous to Katuso. Should he fail here, he opened Katuso up to attacks from places he would not expect it, from a pretender of the Takahashi clan. Thus a change of plans was enacted. "Not a Sunahoshi. An admirer of them. You may refer to me as Centurion." Sousuke answered, refusing to reveal his identity. At least Riyota could get away now, Riyota could hand himself against small time thugs. He certainly did not have the ability to fight an Ancient. "Riyota. Go to the Kazekage Tower. He is waiting for you there. I'm certain you know the way, lad."<i></i>

The metallic giant reached for his weapon, the silver blade. He imbued the weapon with chakra and the weapon transformed into twin great blades. If Sousuke had learned anything from Shiori it was that watching one was the best way to gain an advantage upon them. Sousuke took a moment to gain awareness of the power before him. To drink it in so to speak. He was dealing with an Ancient of a different court. Each of them were so very different. Each of them were tied up in their own little worlds. Riyota would need time to leave. He could not use any of his bigger attacks at this moment in time. All the same though Sousuke would attempt to close the power gap. He decided to summon Joou. The insect queen would take time to arrive, but she would indeed arrive. Sousuke would wait for Riyota to move forward and begin his assault. "You are charged with the three accounts of first degree murder. One account of conspiracy to commit genocide, two accounts of murder. You are charged with unwanton assault of youth, and kidnapping. One account of arson. How does the defendant plea?"<i></i> Shiori's crimes did seem to stack up. Rarely did Sousuke ever play judge, jury and executioner. Shiori gave him no choice to do so.

The agony was certain...but the boy felt a faint relief in his shoulder...creeping further downwards. His wounds were healing, an his tormentor was the one healing them, he only assumed the worst however...assuming she was just healing them so she could slice them open again. Beads of sweat were dripping down his forehead, hanging of his hair and mixing with the blood. With the sudden intervention of healing ninjutsu it seemed he at least had a chance of making it out of this. His sanity however, would leave much the worse for wear. His thoughts and memories manipulated by trauma.

He noticed now that he had movement in his right wrist as he saw the torturer walk forward to meet the man Riyota could only assume was the steward, all that Riyota could muster in the way of words...his voice so weak that it would probably even go unheard. "Just...kill...me" was all he could whisper just before the two readied themselves to fight.

Meanwhile, the boy's mind was at war with itself, a battle of three armies...or rather...three levels of mental strength. Part of him wanted to stay seated in the chair, and hope one of them would get round to finishing him off. Another wanted to cut the restraints and escape while the two adults were distracted. Meanwhile the third...wanted to harness the pain, and use it to bring vengeful destruction upon everything. For now though, the boy decided to at least cut his restraints, proceeding to remove the blade from his leg was a task however, as his rapid healing had healed the area around it, so he had to (painfully) wrench it free. Causing another cry of agony, as he fell out of the chair, fresh blood oozing from the gaping hole.

What Happened?
  • 0.00 Seconds | Sousuke declares Duelist on Shiori for +2 Melee Accuracy.
    • Sousuke's Melee accuracy is now increased to 29 and he has gained +10% damage and autododge against Shiori.
0.00 Seconds | Shiori declares Duelist on Sousuke for +2 Genjutsu DC.
    • Shiori's Genjutsu DC is now increased to 29 and she has gained +10% damage and autododge against Sousuke.
2.00 Seconds | Shiori uses Snapshot [Mastered]
    • Note: This would be considered a Hidden Action meaning that there is no way that Sousuke would know it is in progress and normally it would not show up on the mod.
3.50 Seconds | Sousuke summons Joou.
    • When you use a jutsu, you need to state if it is mastered both in your actions and in your profile. Giving you the summon, as a Rank 2 because you would not be able to summon an A or an S Rank summon. But in a real fight this would not happen.
3.50 Seconds | Shiori creates a pair of Clones [Mastered] using Enthralling Voice [Rank 3].
    • This is considered to be a visual genjutsu and a clone.
Sousuke regardless of a roll )(8 and 17 respectively) would be aware of the fact that he is under a Genjutsu due to Clarity so this genjutsu would be dispersed. Refer to jutsu notes for details but this jutsu ends upon awareness. This is not the case for every genjutsu clone of course, this would not have been the case if I had used Advanced Clone.
3.50 Seconds | Sousuke Quickdraws Black Blade.
    4.00 Seconds | Sousuke enters Defensive Stance [+1 Dodge / -1 Accuracy]
    • Sousuke now has an additional 10% DR due to defensive technique; Melee Accuracy is reduced to 28.5, Dodge is increased to 24, Ninjutsu Accuracy is reduced to 22.5, Puppet Accuracy is reduced to 18.5 and Ranged Accuracy is reduced to 18.5. Accuracy is reduced by 0.5 rather than 1 due to Steady Augment.
5.50 Seconds | Shiori starts to sing Requiem of Death [Rank 3].
    • This jutsu effects everyone in the battle.
      • Shiori Genjutsu DC Roll: (+2 due to enthralling voice) 2 ==> 4 + 29= 33 FULL HIT
        Joou Genjutsu Resistance Roll: 13 + 18= 31
        Shiori Genjutsu DC Roll: (+2 due to enthralling voice) 8 ==> 10 + 29 = 39 FULL HIT
        Sousuke Genjutsu Resistance Roll: 4 + 23 = 27
        • Due to Clarity, Sousuke would be aware that he is under the effects of a Genjutsu.
Melee Accuracy is reduced to 24.5, Ninjutsu Accuracy is returned to 19.5, Puppet Accuracy is returned to 15.5 and Ranged Accuracy is returned to 15.5
-3 to all secondary stats. Cumulative secondary buffs are reduced by -2 suffered by all opponents. Also +10% damage done (considered illusionary) from all sources against those effected as per Shattered Reality.
6.00 Seconds | Sousuke activates Mystic Transmutation and doubles the effects of Vanguard, Chakra Drain and Steady
    • Chakra Drain: user gains CP equal to 20% of the total damage dealt to a single target,
Vanguard: +10% Damage Reduction while this weapon is equipped. While in Defensive Stance, this amount is increased to +20% Damage Reduction.
Steady: When a weapon with this augment is used while in Defensive Stance, this reduces the accuracy penalties of Defensive Stance by twice-half.
      • Melee Accuracy is returned to 26, Ninjutsu Accuracy is returned to 20, Puppet Accuracy is returned to 16 and Ranged Accuracy is returned to 16.
In addition, whenever a jutsu is used you need to state that it is mastered to get to use it as mastered. I gave it to you as mastered but this would not occur in a normal battle.
6.00 Seconds | Sousuke begins to Observe Shiori.
8.00 Seconds | Sousuke is no longer Observing Shiori.
    • Sousuke gains +2 bonus to Accuracy and +10% Damage against Shiori. Unfortunately the +2 accuracy has been negated by Requiem of Death.
8.50 Seconds | Shiori casts Parasitic Infection [Mastered] on Sousuke using Enthralling Voice [Rank 3].
    • This is considered to be a kinetic genjutsu
    • Shiori's Genjutsu DC Roll: 7 + 29 = 36 FULL HIT
      Sousuke's Genjutsu Resistance Roll: 7 + 20 = 27
      • 44% chance to “Linger”. Roll: d100 needed for this, let's assume it does not linger.
8.75 Seconds | Sousuke attempts to Slash Shiori.
    • Mastered jutsus need to state that they are mastered, otherwise they are cast at Rank 1. Gave you the Mastered Attack.
+1 accuracy to mastered attacks due to Tactical Mind
      • Sousuke's Attack Roll: 14 ==> 15 ==> 13 + 26 = 39 MISS
        Shiori's Evasion Roll: 20 + 24 = 44
        10% auto-hit. This requires a d100 roll, let's just assume this succeeded.
        10% auto-dodge. This requires a d100 roll, let's just assume this failed.
9.50 Seconds | Sousuke attempts to Slash Shiori.
    • Mastered jutsus need to state that they are mastered, otherwise they are cast at Rank 1. Gave you the Mastered Attack.
+1 accuracy to mastered attacks due to Tactical Mind
      • Sousuke's Attack Roll: 7 ==> 8 ==> 6 + 26 = 32 FULL HIT
        Shiori's Evasion Roll: 4 + 24 = 28
        10% auto-dodge. This requires a d100 roll, let's just assume this failed.
10.0 Seconds | Shiori casts Cancel using Willpower to make this a free action.
    • There is no genjutsu effecting Shiori to remove.

Notes:
  • Sousuke - you need to define a second damage type in your dojo to actually benefit from this. This is a battle with an intended outcome, so despite ROE you can enjoy the benefits of the other type but only after you post in your dojo *glare*
  • Sousuke - you should define the special effect of your weapon so you can get the full benefit of this (such as bleeding). This is a battle with an intended outcome, so despite ROE you can enjoy the benefits of this additional effect but only after you post in your dojo *glare*
  • Sousuke - you need to have a list of your jutsus and stat-based stuff in your profile to be able to use them. Also, everything that is mastered would need to be marked as such otherwise you have nothing to fight with. Your Profile. Update it so you can be official otherwise you would have nothing to fight with. (Fight to refer to: Kagemaru's fight.)
  • Shiori - AP error made in basic clone, it was a D Rank, not an E Rank jutsu. *slaps self on wrist*
  • Riyota - I am fine with leaving Riyota directly out of the fray but if he wishes to involve himself he has my consent as well as my word as a fellow player that I will not let him be killed. As a spectator per ROE you would not be affected by any of the attacks but would still be able to post IC commentary. As a participant, you would need to make sure that your profile is up to date. A lot of the information you would need for your profile can be found in your training and your dojo such as stats, jutsus owned and mastered, abilities, bloodline/core ability, class, weapons, kinjutsu, and inventory. This stuff would need to both be PM'd yo the mod (in a real fight) and be found in your profile at the time you send in your stats (not the time the B mod is called). Since I am also modding and participating and I can see everything, you only need your info in your profile and I am using this as a learning exercise for actual combat for players.
