Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Current Ninpocho Chronicles Time:

Cat-tails and Cat-walks.

Honome wound her way through the street of the Susukino District. Normally people would walk through the thoroughfare, looking at the shops on either side, but Honome was a little different in that regard. She enjoyed the sides that the merchants usually saw, behind the hustle and bustle of the street. It was quite loud enough as it was with traveling behind their shouts rather than having them aimed right in her ear.

She had promised to meet Midori for some fun in the entertainment district, but truth be told, she had little to no idea what they would be doing there. Honome had been working on perceiving the world with only her ears, but tonight with the ruckus to her right and the wall to her left, she relied heavily on the signals she was receiving from the walking stick. A quick swipe and a loose pebble was out of her way, a reassuring tap to see how wide a gap in the pavement that was underused by the public during the evening and night hours, and so was unaccustomed to seeing repair, and she was across the intersection. Luckily there were no fast-moving carts or anything so she could cross confidently without breaking her stride.

The sounds of the nightlife to her right muddled her senses of where she was, and her bearing on the world, much like someone who had a veil in front of their eyes would be impaired in their periphery and sight-lines. Merchants called for people to come and sample their wares and take a shot at games that were meant to take your money from you without giving you an equal return. Everyone had to make a living, after all. Some of them shouted for people to take their best shot, and assured the customers that they didn't allow ninjutsu or any of that funny chakra business in their games and that they would know whether or not their game had been tampered with. A woman running a stall of 'pull the string for a prize' was sitting confidently, having children pull strings and receive stuffed animals, water balloon yoyos and bags of candy for an exorbitant price, but her wares also included fine dining sets and even an end-table which she claimed had belonged to a noble family and she had purchased from an estate sale.

The cool air of the evening bourgeoning on night lapped at her face, making her cheeks color and her ears prickle with the drop in temperature from the day. The brisk air was enough to keep her going, and she loved it. The silk kimono she wore had layers, after all, meant to keep her warm throughout the night, even if her companion chose to eat outside. Speaking of, where was Midori?

From what she could tell the people moved through the crowds like a slow moving molasses, except a couple, or maybe three, people who had been tailing her for the better part of three blocks. They hadn’t aroused suspicions because they were moving through the herd of people on the main street, and it wasn’t nearly congested enough to warrant them overtly tailing her, but she had managed to pick up a tail anyhow.

Wondering what to do in this sort of situation, she continued on, her geta making a hollow tapping noise as she passed near an archway to someone’s home. She could hear the din of someone getting ready for bed through an open window, assuming that the shades were drawn she wondered how anyone could sleep with the racket outside. A quick snapping shut of the window answered the question and she continued on.

Geisha were calling from the streets ahead. Perhaps she could find solace within the silk folds of the kimonos of the other girls. They were fiercely protective of other women. But wearing what she was, she might be mistaken for one of their ranks. True, her snug kimono was made of silk, and true, she had no idea what the pattern was, but she wasn’t wearing the traditional make-up that befitted them. She had no skill in applying it since she couldn’t tell what the contours of her face were without touching them, and that just horribly smudged the whole effect. She had tried, with a girlfriend in her youth, to apply make-up to herself, and it had gone horribly wrong.

A half hour later, both girls had emerged with, apparently, faces like the kabuki warrior theater and her friend’s mother laughed so hard she almost wet herself. From that day forward, she hadn’t worn a spot of make-up, but had been told that she needn’t bother. Still, among the geisha, she would stick out like a sore thumb.

Hesitating, she heard the three that were tailing her step onto the pavement behind her. She had to make a choice, continue into the red-light district, confront these three, or try to lose them and look for Midori.

Lumbering her way through the crowd, the vampire strutted her way through the crowd who seemed to move out of her way when they saw her. Midori with her hands clasped together smirked down warmly looking around at all the shops as well as the street performers that have made this district their own little stage. Normally, the Sennin at this time would be either working right now or checking in with her fellow kindred to see what was going on in the world of darkness– but as for right now she was there to meet up with one of her Medical-Nin's for a little fun. A chance to unwind instead of going about doing the same little routines seemed to her like a good idea; especially since in the entertainment district there were many things that even an immortal like herself could find some fun doing. This place is the host of many clubs, restaurants, theaters, hotels, couture shops, specialty stores, and so much more. So there was no doubt that finding something to do here would be easy.

But there was one thing that was not easy… actually finding Honome through the sea of people. Being much taller than everyone around here, the most she had been able to see were the tops of people's heads which wasn't really helping much plus she was also trying not to bump into folks. Plus with a lot of the people here dressed in more traditional clothing and such that in itself didn't really help with finding Honome. So like a mom looking around for her lost children, the giantess would the use her hands to cup around her mouth in order to project her voice as she began to shout. "Honome?! Honome darling, I'm here. Just follo my voice! Honome?!" She yelled, looking around before seeing the top of someone's head that looked similar to Honome. Midori smirked, reaching down to grab the person she assumed was Honome by her head then plucked her from the crowd. "Ahh zere you are. Yanno zink ve probably schould'fe zet up a better meeting–" Suddenly the person she was holding up like a trophy began to scream and thrash around not knowing what was happening. Midori made a face which can only be described as 'oop' before releasing the woman and trying to fix her hair. But she ran away before Midori had the chance.

"By Count Dracula's cape! Finding this mortal vill be harder zan I expected." Midori complained before proceeding to yell, calling out to Honome in some kind of hope that she would hear because it'll be hard giving exact directions to a blind person. So the best she could do was simply yell and look through the sea of bodies to see if she would be able to find the young shinobi.

Honome heard the giant woman, she could not mistake that accent for anyone else’s and she found it rather comforting to hear that she was calling her name. One of the people that was tailing her saw her round her heel and face off with them and opened a folding knife with a snick. There was the heavy thump of something heavy being patted against a palm from one of the others and the tightening of rope against rope from the third. So they meant to capture them.

“She’s blind alright, should be easy, now miss, come with us and you don’t have to be hurt. Someone’d pay good money for someone like you that can’t wander too far from the house without getting lost.” He laughed, “blind slaves are good for house-work, and ‘house work’ if you know what I mean.” The malice in his voice was thick with sadistic honey.

She cleared her throat, “Midori Sensei!” she screamed and the scream manifested in a burst of wind that knocked the leftmost of the kidnappers over, the one with the large bludgeoning object. She dashed, skirting the blade that came swishing through the air, slicing her kimono as she narrowly avoided it. The next thing she knew a rope was around her chest and her arms were pinned to her side. She rounded, pulling the man off-balance as she did with the sudden twist and let out another chakra burst from her throat.

“Midori Sensei I’m here! Help!” She sent out another wave of chakra-infused wind from her mouth and it shook the man with the rope so much that he dropped it. Honome wriggled in her binding, the coarse fibres of the rope bit into her tender skin. The man with the bludgeon got back up, the metal of the bludgeon scraped against the ground as he coughed and caught his breath.

“You bitch, you’ll pay for that.” The man with the bludgeon raised it above his head, and one blow rained down on her shoulder, the pain exploded from the point of impact, running down her arm and into her chest. It was her time to be caught breathless. He aimed a kick at her ribs. She got tossed into the street where passers-by just watched, or worse, walked past from the men that were coming, walking slowly toward her.

Midori, believing that this would be just another outing, had just continued looking around for Honōme. Calling out to the young trainee as she looked closely and to her surprise Midori did hear Honōme call out to her– however the sound of that scream had Midori worry just a little bit wondering if maybe she'd gotten lost or unable to find her way towards her. "Honōme! Darling is efferyzing halright?" Midori called out sounding a little concerned, but when she called out for the second time screaming for help immediately Midori sprung into action. Calling on her blood, she began to push through the crowd to find Honōme. Midori saw the young trainee sliding into the street as three men slowly approached her student and she rushed into the scene and held out her hand to block the men from getting anywhere near Honōme. Even going as far as to protect Honōme behind a large dome of restorative light just to be on the safe side as she dealt with these hoodlums herself. "Now let's zee vu try zat, vith zomeone my zise."

Midori stomped then leaped up into the air before crashing her heel over the head of one of the kidnappers with a blundon weapon, kicking the man with enough force to send him down to the ground before she turned her eyes to her next target. This time, Midori focused her wrath into her fist making her hands glow with a crimson blood red aura around her hands in which she used to hammer a blow to the second kidnappers chin and then land a second blow to the kidnappers teeth. Saving the best for last, she grabbed the one with a knife by the throat who responded to this by stabbing her in the side with the blade but Midori merely chuckled then proceeded to lift the man up by the throat and slammed him to the ground over and over again before pinning the kidnapper down. A sense of bloodlust came over the vampire, she wanted to harvest all three of their hearts and bathe in their blood until she had reached her fill. But there were witnesses, plus the sound of ripping and tearing as she fed from these three would probably traumatize her trainee so Midori had to keep that beast in her that was telling her to eat in its cage. However, even though her beast was in it's cage there was no harm in letting a little bit of her mask fall for a moment for the man she kept pinned beneath her.

"Ahhh-haa… not zo fun now vhen zee fictims fight back hmm?" Midori teased, raising one of her hands up to extend her long black claws to stab the kidnapper's shoulder.

"Now I vant names, vo are vu deffil's vorking for? Giffe me ein name or else your skeleton vill be uzed for my vind chimes" she growled, her claws twisted into the kidnapper to cause him to sing in agony. Then she looked up to scold the bystanders who did nothing but let poor Honōme get hurt. "Und vu all schould be aschamed of yourzelffes! Zis is vhy zeze devils are zo bold because none of vu vorms do anyzing!" Midori shouted while lifting the kidnapper up to slam him on his face.

Honome was all of the sudden blind to the world because of the barrier. She knew, instinctively, when the large woman had made her way over that there would be some sort of altercation, but she even went as far as to put up a barrier around Honome to protect her? Honome got up and started to roll her shoulders, loosening the slip knot that bound her arms to her sides before slipping the rough rope over her head, feeling the cord slip through her fingers before investigating the barrier itself. The silence of the inside of the barrier permeated her being, it was so peaceful that it brought tears to her eyes. She had never been surrounded by so much quiet before. Not even, in her youth, when she visited the pool and submerged beneath the water was it so quiet as now. Her fingertips brushed against the smooth, warm barrier and then stood, a palm to the barrier, waiting for the altercation to be over and the barrier to be lowered. She knew better than to get in the way of a sensei when they were in a fight.

--

Meanwhile, the would-be kidnappers were getting the generous fluff beaten out of them by a woman that had seemed to appear out of nowhere. The first was lucky that he had been kicked so hard, as he lay there unconscious, starting to wet himself, and the side of his face sitting in a puddle of his own drool. The second wasn't so fortunate, but was dazed by the blow until he heard the knife sink into his companion and then was treated much like a mouse would be by a large cat, tossed about and toyed with.

"We're working for a man who goes by "Dandy Man"." It wasn't true, but they could at least point her in a wrong direction. "We don't know his real name, only that he goes by that. He's the secretive type you know, , likes to live large on other people's money. He has his fingers in everything." This last part, for the bandit's sake, was actually true. He was terrified as to what might happen, but at least pointing in a direction that had some meaning would be better than outright lying. Besides, how could he lie to a monster like the one that was in front of him. Beautiful and terrible.

"He was going to make us take our haul to this location." He took out a paper, given to him by his boss, an enemy of the dandy man, where there were already four other girls waiting to be sold off to auction on the next market bid. They had to have five this time, and would have contributed to the auction. Now, however, they might as well barter for their lives. There would be people there to deal with this woman, people better equipped than he was, that was for sure.

More than one person avoided the gaze of the woman and the scene as it unfolded, but with the revelation that it was so widespread as to involve multiple girls, there were more than a couple that went back to their business, their shoulders rounded and heads downcast in shame. Two or three were watching and enjoying the show with sadism held barely in check behind their gaze, and one woman of slender build gave a dismissive look to the man who was blurting out all of this information and attempted to slip back into the crowd, grinding her teeth almost loud enough that it was audible. Her face was a mask of fury. She had just lost at least a hundred thousand yen on this girl, and whoever she was, she would find out and make the small thing pay.

It would seem that Midori didn't have to do that much convincing to get the man to talk. Apparently these goons were working for some villain by the name of Dandy Man Who had sent them to capture and deliver their haul to a certain location and when the goon gave me the name of the villain the vampire had to roll her eyes at the rather cliche name their villain had. Snatching the paper with one hand, she pulled her claws out of the man's shoulder so she could stand up to her full height. Stepping on the man's chest so he would be pinned beneath her weight, Midori removed her large hat and squinted so she could read the paper just a bit better. From what she understood, their haul were unfortunately girls that were supposed to be up for auction and they already have given four other girls to these hoodlums. Stuffing the paper in her hat, she would then go in her purse to get her headset while keeping the man pinned underneath her foot. "Mitori Fudotta to HQ, zituazion in Zuzukino District." she began "Three zusbects apprehended. Zusbects involved in an attempted kidnapping und may haffe tides to human trafficking. Two are captured und ready for transport."

Midori waited for about a couple of seconds before someone on the other line told her that they'll be there in a few minutes to take suspects away. Putting her headset away, she dispelled the barrier that protected Honome and waved her hand for the young trainee to approach her…. but forgetting again that Honome was blind she decided to call out to her in a gentle tone. "Honome over here, vatch your schtep und be careful darling." she said, pressing her foot down on the man's chest hearing a few cracks as though his bones were screaming in agony because she did weigh over 900lbs. "Zee ANBU vill be taking zee ozer tvo avay now-v. Zee one vho I'm currently crusching under my heels vill be taking us to do a little zearch rescue mizzion. Of courze, I'll be giving zome of my info to zee Anbu but think I better head offer zere now in caze zeze deffil's decides to move zoze poor zouls to another locazion." Midori explain, taking her foot off the man's chest so she could pick him up by the throat and glared daggers into his soul.

"Und vou better not be lying or leading us into zome trap, yeah? Because if anyzing goes vrong, I'll bathe in your blood until I've reached my fill. Zat or uze vou as a human schield, zat's alvays a option." Midori threatened the man. In an instant, the scene became flooded with Anbu who were taking away the two other suspects as well as talking to a few of the bystanders to get the whole story. The vampire stopped in her tracks when they saw that there was another suspect in Midori's hands.

"Thanks for acting so fast, but we'll be taking him off your hands now." said one of ANBU wearing a tiger mask, the other two being put in chakra binds and shoved into the back of some vehicle.

"Mm.. not zis one. Zis one vill be taking me and my schudent to find zee ozer girls before zey become avare of zeze guys' maziffe blunter." Midori explained, about to leave with the man but the ANBU was just a little pushy. Thankfully they were guarded by other Anbu right now so they were at least free to bicker a bit about who was in the right.

Honome gulped and nodded, "U-u-um." She hesitated as she started towards Midori's voice and the screams of the man, covering her sensitive ears from the screeches that sent waves of echoes off of the walls, painting a picture clear enough of the carnage that had been left by the leader of the Medical Branch. She had heard stories, but the real deal was not anything like the stories, if anything she was twice as intimidating and three times as ruthless. She gulped and reached a hand out toward the man, "C-can we heal him before we start? We could p-put him in binds and then he couldn't escape. Where exactly are we headed?" Honome asked. The patter of blood from the collapsed lung that leaked out of blood-frothed gasps of pain was enough for her to worry, but the shudders that ran through his body as the adrenaline that kept his pulse quickened were getting more and more frequent. If they didn't at least alleviate some of the pain he would pass out soon.

Honome's sightless eyes went from the man's general direction to Midori's midriff, and then back to the man. She couldn't see much, but could smell the blood in the air, could hear the patter of sticky liquid as it ran down the man's chin and pattered on his chest and the street below.

The man chuckled darkly, "Shit lady, even she can see that I am hurt, and she's blind as a bat." The man said, wheezing from his injury. He secretly just hoped that she would leave him alone, fearing that if she found out that he had played her and that he didn't actually work for the dandy man he would set her off into another violent fit that he wouldn't survive. "I won't be much use to you if I faint." He wasn't a fainter, but perhaps he could wheedle his way out of that too. Better to be given over to the ANBU and be guaranteed a trial and to live long enough to explain himself than to go with this monster of a woman. He had seen the veil ripped away, the mask, to reveal the monster beneath and he wanted nothing to do with it.

Honome bit her bottom lip with indecision. To be agreed with by the man who had wanted to take her away and enslave her with other girls, ones that had already been captured, that was something that she wasn't quite expecting. She was expecting bravado, for him to swear that he was okay like the villains in her story. She felt like she was the antagonist here. The man seized on the kneaded eyebrows of Honome, and smiled, a pitiful cough erupting so that she could hear it, his lungs rattled and Honome winced visibly.

"We just wanted the girl, but I think you've both had your fun, you sadists." The man spat toward Honome, who jumped back, covered in his blood and spittle she started to shake, her eyes widening. She set her jaw and tilted her head to the right slowing down her breathing that had started to grow rapidly to a pant, breathing in and out through her nose she shook her head, "Nevermind, he has enough energy to bluff."

The man wilted in the grasp of Midori at that, his ruse seen through by a blind girl. Well, so much for that plan.

"I'll take you to the place, alright?" He gave Midori a weak smile, "Alright?" He coughed, this time it was genuine, but this time Honome didn't react. She was too angry that he would try to use her sympathy to get out of this predicament that he and his friends had got themselves into.

When Midori heard Honōme's little concerns of this man's health, the vampire chuckled. Even after nearly kidnapping her, she still showed this animal pity. As touching as it was for her to show that even this man deserved at least some of her mercy, Midori very much doubted that Honōme would feel the same way as this man would've succeeded in what he was planning. Indeed, her methods were cruel, however these devils deserve to know what it would be like to be hunted by something stronger than they were. To know what it is to fear a person like their victims feared them. Even now, the smell of blood in the air rattled her inner beast inside of her and the thought of devouring him was becoming ever so enticing. Midori however knew herself that he wouldn't exactly die if he left him in this condition, with her medical abilities she could easily bring him back to life if he succumbed to his wounds or inject him with an adrenaline syringe just to prolong his agony. But between the Anbu, the crowd and Honome's pleas for her to do something– it would seem as though she had no choice in the matter. "Vou schould be zankful zat zeze ozer mortals care enough for your vell being young man. Now hold still." Midori would say as she held her hands over the man.

In an instant the man would glow brightly in an aura of restorative chakra, applying a steady flow of chakra over the nasty looking wound over his shoulder, layering it to assist the blood and skin in sealing the wound along with speeding up the mending process for a few bones that Midori had cracked when crushing him. Once he seemed fine, or at the very least fine enough to not pass out during their travels. Midori dispelled the aura, the Anbu cuffing the man and putting on a nigh unbreakable chakra draining collar around his neck that left him stripped of their ability to perform even the most basic jutsu. Any tampering with said collars results in a fatal dose of toxins injected through the device and of course Midori would be given the kill switch to swiftly execute him if he got any bright ideas about running away. Though since Midori didn't exactly trust herself to make the right call with sparing him, the vampire would pass the kill switch over to Honome instead. After all, Honome was the one who showed this man more sympathy than she would've done, so the vampire figured that it would be slightly more beneficial for her at least to know if Honome would be responsible enough to hold someone's life within her hands. "Here, zis resbonzibility schould be handled py a H-unbiazed party. I'm trusting zat vou vould make zee right decizion if it comes dovn to it." Midori smirked, straightening upright to look down at the poor devil.

"Now zen, lead zee vay vou vrench. Zough I leave zee kill svitch vithin zee hands of my schtutent, do not zink for a zecond vou're zafe from me. As a immortal, I have plenty of time to hunt vu dovn. Now move!" Midori said before shoving the man by his head forward to lead the way, her hands clasped together as the giantess would follow the kidnapper. Meanwhile, a few of the Anbu grunts would take the other kidnappers away, however a few actually stayed behind for a moment to cloak themselves in their active camo before scattering. While they were hidden, Midori knew for sure that the other Anbu weren't far behind. This was probably good in case anything were to go wrong, plus it saved her the trouble of having to call them this time. Looking back, Midori would call out to Honome to follow them into the unknown. "Honome! Over here darling, don't schtray too far." Midori shouted, smirking down as they followed the man to wherever he planned on taking them.
