It was a cold dark night as the seasons began to change. Even in the desert the harsh sands respected the turn of the earth away from the sun, though the only real change felt by everyone was the slightly colder nights. That didn’t prevent Tama from building a heater into his shack though.
It had taken him some finagling with the local merchants but he had somehow managed to talk down a lot of the materials he needed to create a place to work on his inventions outside of his cramped room in the apartment; all on a simple allowance. It took him a few weeks to figure out how to create the shack, also as well a place to place it, but after solving the problems through his local library (aka, books), the cunning child managed to talk a man out of a street ally beside his bar. With the knowledge about carpeting he quickly absorbed the large shack that, though narrow, took up the entire ally way. For the hell of it Tama built a brick wall in front of the entrance with a special cliché loose brick that opened up the entire thing for him. In the time it took him to build the secret laboratory the boy had taken up a part time job to help push towards his funding for lab materials. It wasn’t much of a job but he did appreciate the hard work it took to keep the rundown watering hole up to shape. Lately his eyes had begun to stare at the architecture of the whole thing…
Though despite the hard work and time he had placed into the shack another problem had arisen that would draw his attentions away from the outside world. The power that his master had tapped was beginning to flow outwards through his system without his control and only a strong force of his will had managed to keep it back in place. The strength inside Tama had awakened hungry and eager for more, as if pushing him towards a victim to deprive them of a soul; if ever a time he needed Mikaboshi it was now. Yet unlike the pawn that the creature had hoped to create the highly intelligent boy decided to turn towards science and his own mind to solve the problem. It issued him a true challenge for he feared his life was hanging on to the answer to his problem. Eating only from the kitchens in the bar Tama had sequestered himself inside the laboratory otherwise, working towards a scientific cure to his ailments.
It had been nearly two weeks.
The steady hand of a child whose mind was far beyond his age lifted a beaker filled with a strange green substance. The thick liquid inside held a slight sparkle in it as the glass passed by a few over used candles that the boy used as lighting to keep the electric use minimal. Gently he placed the beaker over an iron burner and with the strike of a match set fire to the small gathering of wood beneath it. Quickly turning away his steady hand shot out and grabbed a vial of something of a thinner substance but held the color of a vivid red – his own blood. With extra care he uncorked the fresh specimen and held it close to the glass beaker as he waited patiently for the heat to activate the formula inside. The moment came quick as the fire licked under the green fluid causing the color to slowly change into a teal, then blue, then light blue in color. His practiced hand slowly began to tip his life fluids into the heated chemical substance and mix into it naturally. The liquid quickly drew to a boil once Tama’s blood entered the formula, causing the color to shift into a deep dangerous purple color.
“Oh bother,” Tama said as he quickly dropped the vial of his fluids and snatched the beaker with a dash towards the door. Kicking the bricks with a shot of his chakra to enhance the attack the fake wall exploded outwards as the young scientist threw the bottle out of his shack and into the street. Fast as possible he pulled against the wall his spare hand was still holding onto and threw himself around the corner as an explosion rocked the deep, less popular, area of Suna. Smoke and debris rolled into his laboratory as he stood up coughing, attempting to persuade the viscous fog to move along with the continuous wave of his hand. The snow blonde child walked out into the streets to survey his latest disaster of mixing his blood with foreign materials. He was dressed in unwashed, ragged looking, baggy pants and a leather vest with only a dingy shirt beneath it. Over it all he wore a singed and banged up looking lab coat and a pair of thick black goggles upon his head, scrunching up his hair and causing part of his face to look a different color than the rest.
With his ever-waving hand the boy walked up into the small crater in the street and bent down as he cleared the smoke away to search for…well anything productive. This had been his thirteenth failure in combining chemicals with his blood in the attempt to find a cure to repress his chakra some. The boy had come close in the tenth experiment when it didn’t actually explode, but the liquid when added onto a small crystal that held chakra showed that it only further enhanced the strength, and unpredictability, of his own chakra.
A door slammed open queuing the boy to look up and see his ill-tempered boss storming outside to see what the hell had just exploded outside of his bar this time; finding Tama kneeling near the crater waving away smoke and dust did not do well for this rising fury.
“Tama!” He screamed as he stomped towards the boy who had decided to turn his head back to his original curiosity, “I told you we can’t be having these damn explosions nearly every day for the past bloody week! I don’t care what the hell your doing in that damn eyesore next to my bar, I’m tired of it! Hell business was bad enough when people weren’t scared they’d get hit with some freaking bomb! Are you even paying attention?!”
Of course he wasn’t, and when the owner of the bar decided to grab the boy by his lab coat he was met with a swift chakra fueled jab to the chin that knocked him back nearly to his door; all while his eyes remained focused on his new street hole. Cursing to himself the man decided best to leave the little ninja alone and possibly talk to some authorities about his problems. Meanwhile Tama had managed to hand shuffle away enough smoke and dust to reveal a small purple crystal buried within the center. His careful hand reached into a pocket on his coat and removed a pair of tweezers and a vial. Uncorking the glass tube he picked up the crystal and placed it inside of container before rolling the cork in his hand back over the hole and smashing it down with his thumb. Satisfied with the results so far he turned and walked back into his dark work area.
