Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Nanashi followed the map that was drawn for him by the small day care chief. Being in a shinobi village had lots of surprises, and for one, he thought the children already went to the academy at a young age. But he forgot that not everyone would become a shinobi or that the toddlers weren’t even old enough to truly wield a kunai for that matter. And so, one of the small day cares would provide for watching out for the toddlers just as their parents would be busy with their job.

The said day care was at the end of the street in the economical district, a suitable place not too far from the working parents who cannot afford to leave their children unattended at home. The job was simple as he would be helping out in today’s affairs as a substitute day care assistant, with the previous one taking a sick leave. Thus, not really seeing any potential need for a fight, Nanashi was dressed in his casual shirt and jacket, and trousers and sandals as he headed for the place, contrary to when he would sport his weapon holster and other combat gears.

When he arrived at the day care, he was warmly greeted. He made sure to arrive early so that he could get to know the place better just as the main day care chief showed him around and the responsibilities he’ll have to undertake that day. When they finished the tour around the small place, he took off his shoes and prepared the play mats just in time for the kids to start arriving.

As each parent came and dropped off their kids, Nanashi got to know each toddler and their quirks quickly. He found a few to be terribly shy and another bunch to be quite active. He was only half a day in and he found himself quite surrounded by the little critters full of energy that he thought he wouldn’t survive the day. However, just as the day care chief had explained prior, most of the toddlers would be taking their naps come afternoon, and so after a bit of moving about after their lunch, Nanashi was tucking in the little ones in their futons.

All the while, a smile was on his face as he watched the kids, observing and making sure the toddlers wouldn’t roll and sleep facing down. That’d be bad. He also had to make sure they were breathing! In any case, he felt a little jealous inside since he remembered that he never actually met his real parents, and to think that he was a foundling. Of course, thanks to his adoptive father, he was raised well, but still it would have been a different life if he had his parents around.

Come mid-afternoon, it was time to wake up the kiddies. No doubt a few need to be helped with their toilet accidents, and then when they done with light snacks, they were up and about once more, fully recharged and ready to ram and play hero against Nanashi who had to play the villain.

By night, the parents all came to pick up their kids one by one. Nanashi had to bid the toddlers farewell, hoping maybe he could work here again someday. Just the thought of the little ones being fetched by their parents also made him a bit sad. Maybe– he thought– if he waited a little longer, someone would come fetch him up as well. But he shook the thought away. It was impossible. The Old Man was back in Port Cirrus and he was busy trying to become a shinobi. He needed to be more self-sufficient, self-confident.

“Thank you for your hard work, Nanashi. Come by again when I need you, okay?” said the day care chief.

“No problem, ma’am. Take care of the kids,” he answered just as the day was about to end and he was on his way back to his apartment.

But if there was anything he would like to imagine, it was that Kumogakure would truly be his home, a large one, and that everyone was his family.
