Character's Physical Description: Kayda is a young kunochki with short black hair and blue eyes. Relatively she seems like a normal human girl, however one of her odd yet most noticeable trait is that she has a long spiral unicorn-like horn along with a blue mermaid like tail that seems to gleam with a a sort of greenish blue color– as though her scales were made of steel. The outfit she wears consists of mostly traditional clothing of a lavender kimono with a light tan scarf and a black swimming leotard since she is mostly around water the majority of the time. Bandages cover around her legs down to her ankles to hide her weird scales and webbed fins along with her forearms too.
Character's Mental Description: Kayda is a shy and secretive young kunoichi who for the most part enjoys keeping to herself. If she isn't managing the shrine that her family owns she hangs around the docks to swim the shores without risk of running into people who would make fun of her inhuman features. Her mysterious nature conceals a kind and observant heart, and beneath her reserved exterior lies a deep connection to the natural world, especially the sea. She finds solace in the serene waters, where she can truly be herself, away from prying eyes. Kayda's inhuman features make her unique, and she embraces her differences with a quiet strength, knowing that her true beauty lies in her individuality. Her quiet demeanor hides a world of wisdom and strength, and her dedication to managing the family shrine reflects her deep-rooted sense of responsibility.
Character History: In the tranquil mountains nestled amidst lush forests, a young girl named Kayda had been raised by kind and wise monks. Her life was one of serenity and discipline, guided by the teachings of the monks who worshiped the way of the blue dragon. Kayda was known throughout the monastery for her gentle nature and her deep reverence for the natural world. One fateful evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, a storm of unprecedented intensity swept across the land. A great storm that spans nearly the whole country and lightning seems targeted to strike the very tip of each mountain regardless of what safeties are in place to prevent it. Thunder roared and lightning streaked across the sky, striking the ancient cherry tree at the heart of the monastery. Mei, standing near the tree in awe of the tempest, was suddenly enveloped in a blinding flash of light.
When the light subsided, Kayda found herself transformed partially into a magnificent half-dagon of the sea. Her scales shimmered like sapphire waves, and her eyes were as deep and mysterious as the ocean itself. The monks, astonished by the sight, were shocked to see their devotion to the dragon had finally began to pay off and with the awakening of the dragon rose more who were transformed and awakened new gifts granted to them by this magnificent event. Kayda now was one of the special few monks who became a guardian of the sea with a profound connection to the waters.
At first, Kayda struggled to come to terms with her newfound form. She longed for the days of her human life, but as time passed, she began to embrace her role as a dragon of the sea. She could feel the ebb and flow of the tides, and the whispers of the ocean's creatures echoed in her mind.
Kayda and a few of the other monks became the protectors of the coastal village below the monastery, used their powers to shield the fishermen from dangerous storms and guide lost ships to safety. However, certain villagers who were more fearful of them kept their distance because they didn't know just where in the world these dragon people came from.
As seasons turned into years, Kayda graduated from the academy then joined the main branch to help with the monks of her village. They had become a symbol of the enduring bond between the land and the sea, a reminder that even in the face of profound change, one could find purpose and harmony.
