After the hectic day things had turned into, many with eye opening experiences, Kasen knew she wouldn't be up for traveling all the way to her beachfront home on the very outskirts of the country. It was nice, in that instance, that the Shinku clan home existed in the upperclass residential district for her to retreat to. She had made her way towards the estate, much hanging on her mind that she had yet to fully process. If someone had told her when she woke up and prepared for the assembly that she would be coming face to face with her long lost fiancé, she probably would have assaulted them for the pure cruelty of the lie. However, it wasn't a lie. Riyota had finally returned to her, albeit in much rougher shape, but he was here and she found herself awash in her emotions.
The blue haired woman was almost to afraid to speak, afraid that if she acknowledged his presence that he would disappear again. She kept her head down, continuing to walk towards her clan home. It was nice that when Sousuke had given them the property, he established separate wings between her and Kaen. It wasn't an overly large estate, but it was still relatively big, much bigger than her little beach shack. One could knowingly have several guests staying and not once would you run into them. Kasen's wing had been used relatively little, primarily for when the doctor was spending several days in town at the hospital or on some other form of business that wouldn't allow her to properly venture home before the late hours encroached upon her. As she reached the entrance, she carefully slid the door opening, stepping inside and taking in the surroundings. It was to her liking, as was promised. The home was decorated fairly modest, not overly luxurious, and was painted in soft shades of blue with offsets of white. There was soft lighting and a few family pictures sat on nearby tables. It was homey. The opening area was a bit of a living room/open kitchen concept, the only thing separating them was a large island, made to look like beach sand and waves coated in a shiny epoxy. She appreciated the lengths that Sousuke went into making them feel comfortable. She would thank him next time she got the opportunity.
Giving a sigh, Kasen placed her things in a nearby wooden bowl and proceeded down a corridor lined with several doors. The wings on their own had several differen
t rooms to accommodate guests or served as studies and hobby rooms. Technically Kasen had turned on of the rooms into a small medical lab for when she needed to practice at home or take work home with her. One of the rooms was quickly turning into a makeshift office piled way too high with paperwork for her to properly tackle if she didn't actually sort through it soon. Her bedroom was near the back, winding around several corners before she stopped at a door that was distinctly different from the rest. The door was made up of several small pieces of tile that made up a mosaic. The mosaic showed a picture of Kasen dressed in flowing fabrics, standing in a body of water, holding a small trinket under moonlight. It was beautifully done, but Kasen still couldn't help think it made her come off as a tad bit narcissistic even if she was not the one who had specifically requested it. Either way, she opened the doors, heading into her bedroom. Unlike the rest of the house, one wall of the bedroom was made entirely of glass that Kasen had made sure to guarantee was one way, but let in the natural light from outside. Her bed was turned down, ready for her to crawl into the pristine white and cerulean sheets. A sectional blue sofa rested against one of the adjacent walls near a bookshelf filled with medical journals and general works of fiction. Some of the books were likely "borrowed" from the Oracles library, but nobody needed to know what.
Despite everything, Kasen knew there was one feature that was an absolute dream to have here at the estate. It was the one promise that she had been granted, given her hesitance to actually use the premise. Kasen had requested a large communal bathing room. The size rivaled most average swimming pools and it was heated upon request with hot stones. A door connected right from her bedroom and was incredibly private. Nobody needed a bathing area this large, but Kasen wasn't just anybody. She was a vessel of the ocean, and the body for an aquatic being. Water was everything to her. If she could not have the ocean, she would have this.
She had made her way home by herself, wanting so much to just stay and talk with her lover, but unsure of all the things she had yet to be capable of saying. She still loved him, yearned to be in his arms, but she also had nearly lost hope he would return at all. Perhaps things had changed between them, b
ut she wouldn't jump to that conclusion. She wanted him to be able to seek her out in his own time, having left a small key with him before she left, unspoken words in her eyes. Kasen shirked off the kimono she had worn to the meeting, replacing it with a dark blue cardigan and loose gray pants. She headed over to the sofa, taking a seat and letting out a long breath she had not realized she had been holding. Grabbing the blanket she had half hazardously thrown on it a few weeks ago, Kasen picked up one of her books. She likely wouldn't be getting any sleep tonight, unable to focus as she held onto the hope that he would show up. Perhaps the Kage had held him up about what had occurred during his absence. Her eyes scanned over the words on the page, but failed to properly take them in. She wasn't sure how long she had sat there, staring at the same page. Thoughts consumed her, jumbled in a giant mess. She failed to feel the traces of tears running down her cheeks as they stirred various emotions in her. Every few seconds she would look up and her eyes would shift towards her bedroom door. The anxiety wouldn't let her rest. Before too long though, the exhaustion started to set in as the warmth of the blanket wrapped around her. The book fell loosely from her hand slightly to the site, her head drooping slightly as it rested against the back of the couch. Despite all her fighting, Kasen's eyes slid closed, falling into a light rest.
