Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

It had been exam time for about a week now. Kitsune knew that Akane had been qualified for ages, heck, just about everyone already knew. Akane was practically already a mednin in every way but name. Well, it was time to change that. Sadly, Kitsune herself didn’t have the time required to do so due to sudden issues arising with her new province and she had to devote a lot of time to handling that. Kitsune also knew that Akane that the makings of a great mednin, so of course she’d want her to be given an exam. She… Just couldn’t really do it herself. So instead, Kitsune authorized Miyako to provide Akane with the exam she needed to become an actual mednin.

This would give the busty medical chief plenty time to sort out her business, she hoped, and at the very least, Akane would get the title she deserved. It wouldn’t be the first time Kitsune had delegated her tasks to someone else, and it most likely wouldn’t be the last either. As for what Kitsune had to do, well, it involved the construction efforts she had greenlit. Seems that some of the people nearby had been complaining about the noise, despite having been given plenty warning about it in advance. Now she had to figure out how to placate these people without halting the construction work. It shouldn’t be too hard with a few flashy moves that’d ingratiate them to her, like bumping their pay or something of the sort.

So off Miyako went, in search of Akane, wherever she might be this surprisingly fine day. Unlike most of the doctors on duty today, Miyako was dressed in a fairly classy white shirt/black vest combo, with black pants, and a mechanized glove on her left hand, and just for good measure, a lab coat thrown over her shoulders. After an afternoon of searching high and low throughout the hospital, Miyako remembered about the phone Kitsune had given her, and rolled her eyes. Oh duh. I can just page her. she reminded herself mentally while heading off to a room to prepare.

Half an hour and a dozen carts of materials later, she paged Akane to room 231 and waited. Inside was a corpse borrowed from the morgue that had been dressed up using various materials that weren’t critical to daily operations, as well as a lot of theatrical makeup to provide a macabre sight of someone that seemed to have been torn apart. Now it would be up to Akane-chan to see through the ruse, and then identify what actually killed the person in question.

Akane was just finishing her rounds, when she decided to sit back and take a bit of a break. She usually liked working in multiple places at once, like one hour she'd be working in the nurses station, and in the other she'd be tending to patients. Since she was a shinobi and not a civilian, she had a wider area she could work if she so chose. The lack of other mednin didn't go unnoticed by her, but the more work didn't bother her.

It helped Akane distract from her other thoughts, though she did have a lot to think about lately, like the whole thing with the sennin, she wasn't sure what branch he was sennin of. She had not met the Main branch sennin, nor did she know the Anbu sennin, though she'd expect the anbu sennin to stay hidden. She liked him a lot, she just didn't know if it was her thing to jump into a relationship, what seemed like so suddenly.

As Akane sat on the chair, she removed her pink scrubs, underneath the scrubs was her normal attire, less cloths better movement was her thing. Plus she believed that her feminine physique was strength that she could use to off put enemies if needed. She had a black swimsuit-like top, black mini shorts with a belt, and a pair of boots. SHe had one of her pouches on her side as well, the other one was in her locker. This pouch had the watch Kouin gave Akane to look after, ninja wire, and some gauze. Her scrubs easily covered it, she only recently started wearing scrubs as she had a complaint about her attire from civilians, it was "Distracting". So scrubs it was, at least over her clothing, because she never went straight home after work.

Suddenly AKane had a page, she bounced as she was startled by the buzzing feeling on her side. As akane looked at the page, she was surprised that it was Miyako, Kitsunes beautiful daughter, that paged her. She had seen her once or twice around, since she had moved into the Shinyra's place, but they had never spoken before. Maybe she needed something, that was the only explanation, she didn't seem like the type to call someone just for chit chat.

So Akane made her way to room 231, with her scrubs in her hand, mostly because she didn't feel like putting them on since she just took them off. It didn't take long before Akane reached the room, and opened the door. She looked at Miyako, before she saw the body, well at least it was now confirmed she wasn't wanted for chit-chat, that or Miyako had a weird thing for corpses. As Akane looked at Miyako, she saw that her attire was dressed in very nice clothing, it looked great on her.

"Nice to see you, Miyako. So whats up?" Akane set her scrubs on the counter, she was gonna get right in it. She wasn't sure about joining up with the morgue area of the hospital, but she wasn't all against the idea either. She was planning on going into the Kinjutsu branch anyways, she was sure there'd be a lot of corpses there. But seeing the short staff, she'd probably be working in more than one branch.

Miyako smiled at Akane as she entered the room. ”Well. First of all, it’s nice to see you too dearie.” she said in a cheery tone ”Secondly, while mother was browsing the personnel files, she came across yours, and saw that you hadn’t been given an exam yet. Honestly, that’s a total oversight on your mentors behalf, and as such, she put into motion an exam for you. Granted, she’s swamped with research work and such things but you know how she gets with her work.” Miyako explained with a smile. ”So she put me to the task of giving you an exam. You’re already way over qualified as it is, so it’s a mere formality at this point. Had she been Sennin, she would’ve probably just promoted you outright.”

And thus, the stage was set. The die had been cast. Or, the die had been picked up and was about to be cast. ”Now, your task is quite simple. Identify the exact cause of death of this person right here. Take all the time you need, and do any examinations you feel necessary with the tools within this room. I assure you, it’s solvable with the equipment here.” Miyako said and gestured to the corpse before stepping aside to take a position of silent non-interfering observation.

The corpse itself was, as previously described, dressed up to look like it had been torn apart. It was done so professionally that you’d have to really closely inspect it to be able to tell the difference between the makeup and actual wounds. Of course, this was all just a decoy to throw Akane off the scent of what this unfortunate individual had actually died from. Would Akane discover the truth? Would it make sense? Find out in the next episode of Aesculapium Chronicles!

Akane listened to Miyako, she nodded in agreement she was overdue for an exam. She had been a MIT for a few years or so, and as for her mentor... "Its more like my mentor ditched me. I haven't seen him around for over a year or so." She explained with a shrug. She was peeved at the disappearance of her mentor, she was sure he'd pop up out of nowhere and act like everything was okay. For her however, she didn't feel like being forgiving. Akane took note that if Kitsune was still sennin she would have been promoted without an exam, it sounded like an easy thing to do, and logical. Though, Akane knew that there was a reason for her demotion. Junko told her about what happen. Either way, things are how they are.

"Well I'm glad I'm able to spend a little time with you, and show you my skills. I'll get this done quickly." Akane said in a confident tone of voice, she was sure this would be a snap. She had every right to be confident in this, she had been studying her ass off, and training hard. MiT things were too easy now, once she was promoted she'd be able to travel, and she'd be able to work on more important things.

Akane looked at the body in the room, simple task, but she knew that Miyako, or kitsune, whichever one didn't make it as simple as it seemed. It looked obvious, the body was all torn up, but looks are deceiving. Akane took a step closer to the body, and she observed some of the wounds. She could tell some looked different, it was slight, but some of them looked a little fake. Only one way to find out really, so akane grabbed a pair of gloves, and slipped them on. She then proceeded to prod the wounds she suspected to be fake. She then wiped her finger over one of the fake wound, ing the makeup to smooth.

"Thats some good fx makeup skills. Gonna be a pain to clean up this body." She commented, then she shrugged. It's be difficult to figure out the real cause with the body covered in makeup. She knew she'd have to clean the body, she never thought she'd be giving a dead guy a bath.

”A whole year? Wow… That’s cold.” Miyako said and blinked a few times. I can’t believe no one’s mentioned this before. That’s terrible. she decided before moving on from that topic when Akane proclaimed that she’d have this task done quickly. Miyako giggled and said ”Oh will you now?” because, as we all know, looks can be deceiving and they most assuredly were in this situation. However, as expected from Akane, she quickly figured out that she’d have to get her hands busy with the corpse, or she’d never discover the true reason. And within minutes, she had unveiled that most of the wounds were fake.

Miyako smiled ”I bet you didn’t expect to have to give a corpse a bath when you got up this morning, right Akane-chan?” she said, giggling lightly. She’d lend Akane a hand if asked, and once the corpse had been cleaned up and wasn’t glorped with makeup, Akane would have to try and discern the true cause of death. Could it be poison? Maybe. Could it have been a blow to the head? Possibly. Perhaps it could’ve been a case of organ failure? Not very likely, but sure. Let’s add that in as well. Regardless, Akane would have to figure out the cause on her own.

”I have every confidence in you Akane-chan. I’m sure you’ll solve this super fast.” Miyako proclaimed with a big smile, really showing Akane that there were people with faith in her considerable skills. Both Kitsune and Miyako knew that Akane could do great things. Even Hisako had estimated the probability of Akane becoming a Medical Chief at a young age to be above average. Of course, that’d have to be up to the sennin whenever Akane were ready, but as a Shinrya, she had access to the best of teachers.

”A whole year? Wow… That’s cold.”
Akane shrugged, it wasn't like she couldn't do it on her own. Sometimes she felt she didn't need a mentor, after all she was very confident in her skills, and she planned on going even further with them.

Akane smirked at Miyako's comment, after she had claimed that she would finish this quickly. She rarely said anything she didn't mean, she really didnt see a point in it, after it was the truth, she would figure this out very quickly.

Akane didn't expect to be washing a dead body most definitely, but it didn't bother her. It would probably bother her if the person were still alive, but its not like she hadn't gave sponge baths to the sick before. "I expected something weird to happen when I got up this morning, but nothing like this to be honest." she explained with a small laugh. It helped akane didn't really believe in defacing the dead as rude either, they're dead, they don't have much of a say on their bodies anymore. Akane happily took Miyako's help on cleaning the body, it made things go by quicker, and it made her feel less weird about touching a body.

After the body was all cleaned up akane did an oral exam, she simply looked over the body for visible wounds. "I am sure your confidence will not be wasted, I may not be the best, but i'm way better than all the other scrubs at my rank." She said with pride in her voice, she really didn't think many people could match her skill, she only believed maybe Kitsune, Miyako, most of her family, and maybe the kids that started with her could match her. Akane liked believing that she was better, and if not, she would become better. She had no shame in admitting that someone else had more skill than her, she just had confidence that she would become better than them.

Akane finished looking over the body, she then used the jutsu "Mystic hands" to sort of scan the entire body for any internal damage, maybe from blunt force damage, or poison/venom. If she could find anything, she considered cutting the stomach open to see if the guy ate anything that could cause his death. Akane knew it wouldn't be 'normal' her last exam after all was a guy with a plant growing inside him. She kinda expected this guy to have out of the ordinary type death. Even though Miyako was running the exam, Akane didn't think Kitsune's daughter wouldn't stray to far from the path of odd doings for tests.

Miyako smiled at Akanes confidence in her skills. It was delightful to see someone with clear confidence, taking action to obtain her goals. Maybe Miyako should do the same… Regardless, this was all about Akane, and Miyako was gonna do her best to be an examination proctor. Once Akane had cleaned up the corpse, and used mystic hands to scan for internal damage, she’d discover that there were multiple puncture wounds inside, as if he had been bitten up from the inside, and if she was really skilled, she’d also discover traces of multiple types of poison. Though which types, she wouldn’t be able to pinpoint easily.

The big question was now, what would Akane do to discover the true cause of death? Was it bleeding internally? Or was it the poison? Or was it a completely third thing, maybe? Miyako personally held no doubts that Akane would be smart enough to solve this puzzle, even if it did turn out to become a bloody affair. Regardless, Miyako stepped around the table to stand at the end, to watch Akanes actions at a different angle, but remained otherwise passive, trying to not give any indications to what had caused the death.

Akane examined the body closely, she discovered several internal puncture wounds, and she wasn't sure if there was venom, or poison. She detected some, but she wasn't to clear if that was what it was. She was sure she'd see something around the room to test this body's blood for the type of poison if it was around.

She was curious though, something on the inside did this, so it looked like she would get to cut something open after all. Akane picked up a scalpel, and felt the upper stomach, to the lower part before she made an incision into the upper stomach, all the way down to the pelvis. She made a few more smaller cuts to be able to open 'em up.

Akane showed no distress in cutting open a dead body, she probably wouldn't mind cutting open a live person as well. Though she'd have to be more careful with a live patient, as for this guy, he was dead. She was careful to not cut any inners, but she has only practiced on so many jelly dolls, and junko.

Akane started to explore the insides, she took some samples to test for poison, and observed the puncture wounds. After she got the sample, she began the test to see if, and what kinds of poisons show up. Then she looked for a cause of these internal wounds, if whatever it was didnt exit out of the body already. She hoped it hadn't, because she was curious to what it was. Was it an animal? weapon? or parasite? She wanted to know.

Miyako observed Akanes actions closely, taking notes on how Akane handled the diagnosis and the subsequent required incisions into the corpse on the table. Though, in her opening the stomach, she’d find herself face to face with a blob-like, spiked, green, creature that at first appeared dead, but then proceeded to lunge out of the stomach at Akane. She’d have to act fast if she were to dodge it or contain it with a jutsu or something similar.

If Akane was successful in containing the creature, she’d notice what almost seemed like roots protruding down from the chest cavity, specifically from the heart region, and she’d have to open up there if she were to find out what the heck was going on there, too.

Upon cutting open the ribs, assuming Akane did so, she’d find a snake like creature wrapped around the victims heart, with root like protrusions growing from its body. She’d also notice the claw like bones growing out of it, that it used to stay attached to the heart, even after death, as it was apparently feeding off of the tissue and remaining blood in the system. How would Akane approach these things?

As Akane cut open the stomach, she was focused, but not really ready for what she would see next. A blob creature jumped out at her, her first reaction was to take the scalpel, and use it to defend herself, stabbing it down to the table. She wasn't too panicked, but it made her question on what the hell this guy did for a living. "That looks like an appetizing meal." She stated, with a hint of sarcasm.

Akane noticed the roots protruding down from the chest cavity. Naturally she started opening up his chest, once she opened it up she looked at the creature rapped around his heart. It was still alive it seemed. "Its a safe bet this killed him, if not, it probably wasn't very comfortable." She commented, "If he were alive, it'd probably kill him to remove it. But if this parasite is like any other living being, I can probably paralyses it with a dose of general anesthesia, put it in a jar or seal and have a team study it." Akane explained, she then reached over to a drawer, and pulled out a needle containing some medication.

After checking to make sure she grabbed the right stuff, she injected the creature with it, hopefully that would knock it out. Or kill it, since Akane had no idea what the biology of the creature was, so for all she knew, she over dossed it. Akane waited a little bit before proceeding.

If the creature did go limp, she would grab a sealing scroll, and a jar. She carefully removed the creature, if she couldnt get it off the heart, she'd just remove the whole heart and put it in the jar, parasite and all. She would then seal it in the scroll to make sure it would attack her, if it was alive, and she was still around when it woke up. She considered the fact the jar probably was not enough to contain it.

As for the spawn that came from the stomach, akane tossed that into a jar as well, who knew, maybe it would survive a stab from a scalpel. "This guy took one hell of a beating, but I believe what killed him was a cardiac arrest caused by this creature sucking the life out of him. Quite literally." Akane said, she then turned to Miyako.
