Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Topic Entered with Clan NPC Miroku Osagi

Osagi walked through the red light district, everywhere the signs of gangs were rampant. This place felt more like his old home and it made him smile. Walking through in his fine suit white & jacket, finely crafted cane. Upon his fingers a few finely crafted rings with exquisite jewels embedded in them, two would be assailants stood before him. Both holding in their hands small rusted blades, they looked stained with blood. The bigger of the two demanded he hand over everything, following by saying he'd regret it if he didn't. 'Wonderful it seems I've found my first two hopefuls.' he thought with a small chuckle. "Come now surely my items aren't worth losing your life over. Instead why don't you start working for me and I won't report you to the nearest authorities."

The smaller of the two mocked him while the other laughed, as the bigger assailant attempted to stab him Osagi easily stepped aside. Countering with two quick knees to the mans chest, he felt the movement of the second assailants blood through his muscles. By his movements he was going to stab the Agent turning and quickly applying counter force with a quick blow he ensured the strike missed. Before grabbing the man and head-butting him, following up with a knee. Turning with a quick kick he knocked out the other man, straightening his suit and jacket he stepped over the two. "How unfortunate, maybe next time you'll prove better at what you do." before walking onwards with a chuckle, those crimson eyes watched those before him as he walked.

Thanks to his Chigokai senses he could feel all of those around him making it impossible for anyone to sneak up on him. Turning back someone had already taken to pillaging from one of the two downed assailants, when one stirred they found themselves stabbed and robbed. "Thus goes the cruel circle of life..." he would say with a chuckle, turning and walking away. The blood that spilled from the freshly wounded man snaked its way towards the Agent, flowing along the ground after him as he walked. A most peculiar sight for any who would see it, so accustomed to having blood drawn to him he wasn't even thinking about the pool following him. Well except that he might get to use some of it to test some further assailants, though he was hoping to find someone talkative.

Ryuga had stood across the street and watched the entire thing. He was slightly amazed at how fast the man had taken the other two down. He then noticed the blood and tightened his scarf.

Should I approach him? I could use some tips on battling...

Ryuga thought it over for a moment and then nodded to himself. He hurried over to the man, his scarf flailing about behind him. He wore a tight, black undershirt, a losser and smaller green shirt over that, thin black leggings, covered by blue, jean-ish pants with holes from his lower thigh to just below his knee, along with homemade shin guards tied on with red bandages. His forearms were also covered in red bandages, they reached to his palms. As well as his long black scarf.

"U-umm... Excuse me, mister? Do you have a moment?"

Anyone could clearly see that Ryuga was I credibly nervous, as his legs were shaking slightly. He feared that the man might think him to be a theif as well.

Osagi felt the small heart beating as it approached him, turning to look at the youth as he was asked if he had a moment. 'A little display of power and those that seek it come out.' he thought to himself before giving the youth a quick once over. The boys attire was most curious, perhaps he was an aspiring ninja. "Sure. What can I do for you little sunan? Don't worry I won't harm, so long as you don't attempt to rob me as well." he said with a chuckle, not that he could say no when he had been asked so politely. Particularly when he was meant to be out getting to know those within the region. Who knew maybe he had found a potential recruit for this sector. If not at the very least he was another sunan into his task.

Since he had stopped walking the blood now began to swirl around the Chigokai on the ground. No doubt a most peculiar sight for someone who had never seen such a thing before. Those Crimson eyes held the boy in their piercing gaze, he didn't need to hear the child's racing heart to know he was scared. The boys legs shook with fear, then again in an area like this most of those who could afford to dress like Osagi were dangerous men. Noticing the blood swirling at his feet he chuckled "Don't worry about that, an uncontrollable effect due to my genetics." he would say to the boy with a warm grin upon his face. Even though his words were reasonably warm, there was something off about the shinobi. The aura of a dangerous man, the type of man one did not want to cross. Though first and foremost he was a businessman, the shadier the business the better.

Sneaking up on such a man would indeed be difficult and he may yet notice another’s presence. However it is unlikely for him the bother to act to her presence. A quick heartbeat of a rather small creature approaches the group. It was a black house cat that looked quite healthy to be wandering these parts. However it is still unlikely for its presence to raise any flags.

This is one of Hakuren’s many pets in which she likes to control. As a Yamanaka she can possess animals and explore the village without physically leaving her room. It was a very handy reconnaissance technique and she was quite good at it. One never knows when she may be watching.

Seeing the red puddle follow the man catches Hakuren’s attention and from on top of a trash can she carefully watches it. She leaps down from her spot as another person confronts this strange man. Like a predator stalking its prey the feline cautiously walks up to the crimson liquid and sure enough it smelt like blood, but what was causing it the swirl around the man like that. Was this man controlling it or did it somehow have a life of its own? Listening to the conversation it sounded to be the former. What a strange ability, Hakuren thought to herself. The curious cat pokes the blood with its paw and was ready to retreat at a moment’s notice just in case it decides to strike back. She does a quick jab; thrusting her paw and quickly retracting it.

Ryuga was, if anything, even more terrified of the man that stood before him. He found it wonderful that his legs had managed to find a way to stay still. He was still as nervous as he had ever been, but the man seemed nice enough from what Ryuga could see. He tried to gather some courage from inside himself to actually ask this mysterious man a question. Even speaking to him once more seemed like a difficult task. He noticed the cat pawing at the swirling blood, but he didn't think anything was out of the ordinary. Cats were curious. They have their own saying after all.

"I was wondering whether or not you could... Well... Give me some advice on fighting. I saw that you handled those two thieves with such ease, and I thought you must be powerful..."

Ryuga was more than surprised that he had managed to speak without his voice shaking. As he stood before the man, Ryuga seemed to get more and more nervous. He was somewhat trusting that the man wouldn't do anything, but yet..

While Osagi waited for the boys response he could sense the cat playing with his blood, they were such curious creatures. The whole time his gaze never left the youth before him, he was surprised by the boys question. "Truthfully they were hardly a test of my abilities, civilians rarely pose a threat to shinobi. Sure I would advise you to become a shinobi, otherwise practice martial arts. I recommend that you join the Academy or find yourself a suitable master." the Agent of the Miroku would say with a warm smile, this time looking down at the cat. Gesturing to it he would speak once more "For example take this cat, you may not think you could learn anything from watching it. But when you watch it you'll see they are stealthy, agile and alert. An observant person can learn a lot from their surroundings." he would say calmly to the youth, with a mere thought the blood would move towards the cat attempting to grab its paw.

He hoped the boy was watching he wanted to show him what he meant, no doubt the curious cat would be prepared for the lash out from the blood and would easily dodge the crimson liquid. The Agents first demonstration to the youth, his way of confirming what he had said. Little did the Agent know this cat was no ordinary cat, this creature was being used as a shinobi tool. "Tell my why is it you want to learn how to fight?" he would ask the child, everyone had their own reasons for seeking power. Osagi wondered why this Sunan sought power and the ability to fight.

So the man was a shinobi, but does not consider himself a suitable teacher. He was most-likely Chigokai considering the genetics comment earlier, but that does not necessarily have to be true. As she processes what she has learn her ears twitch when the man was talking about her. The man was correct in saying one can learn a lot form their surroundings. Then suddenly the blood stretched out to grab he paw. She quickly dodges and retreats a couple feet. Like a cat her ears folded flat against her head and she hisses at the pool of blood. Hakuren was not sure how she felt about being a lesson, however she did not want to leave just yet. She too wanted to learn why the boy wanted to learn how to fight. So she decides to walk into the shadows and hide there watching them.

Ryuga ran that I formation through his head. He hadn't thought a cat could supply one with such information. He was slightly shocked when the blood attempted to grab the cat's paw, but he found that what the man had said had become reality. He wasn't quite sure why the man didn't think he was a suitable mentor, Ryuga thought the man would be a fine teacher. Ryuga started to become a little more calm, and he took a deep breath before responding to become as calm as he could. This man had just taught Ryuga something, and he though it would be rude to be so terrified of him.

"Well I am going to attend the Academy soon, but that won't be for a few days. As for why I want to learn to fight, I made a promise to my step-sister. She'll be leaving in three days, and she is going to give me her old headband. One day she'll come back to the village, and I can defeat her by then, I'll return the headband. I promised that I would be able to best her in battle, so I need to learn everything I can. I've studied hand seals, though I can't really use my chakra yet. Oh, and my name is Ryuga Hanabusa."

Ryuga was surprised that he had spoke so much, when just moments ago he was trembling. He certainly felt more comfortable around the man. He didn't want to bother this mysterious stranger, but he also didn't want to block off one of the only chances he had of learning outside the Academy. He was hoping for an answer that would allow Ryuga to learn something.

Osagi smiled as the cat darted away, it seemed the youth before him was listening. The Agent could see that he would be a quick study, maybe he could juggle his duties for the clan and mentoring an apprentice. He listened to the youths words and gave him a small bow of his head. "I see...well I believe with the proper instruction you could achieve that. Well its a pleasure to meet you Hanabusa. I am Osagi of the Miroku Clan. With proper training and concentration you'll be able to manipulate your chakra properly. Not too mention so much more, your only limitations are the ones you place upon yourself." he would say calmly his eyes appraising the youth. There was potential within the boy, he showed initiative and a willingness to learn. Everything else could be taught, though this boy had something else as well...Heart. Despite his obvious fears he had approached a complete stranger in his pursuit of power, risking his life for the pursuit of knowledge.

"Okay Ryuga Hanabusa, if you wish I will train you in the shinobi arts. Though as my apprentice I will have high expectations of you. I believe you could become a skilled shinobi with the proper instruction, it would be wrong of me if I didn't make the offer." he would say to the youth carefully, if he believed in himself the Chigokai would do it. There were many unorthodox lessons the shinobi could teach him, that could end up saving his life. The cat hid somewhere in the shadows its playfulness lost due to what had just unfolded with the blood. Those crimson eyes held him with an intense gaze, Osagi was a patient man. "You don't have to decide now, think on it a bit if you wish. Perhaps I could do with an apprentice or two. Besides there are many capable shinobi within the Miroku you could find more then one Instructor among us." he would say with a wide grin. After all they had skilled Agents and clan members that specialised in a variety of professions. They were under a strict order to aid the people in any way they could while Lord Akkuma was away. Helping with the education and training of the next shinobi generation would surely count.

As Hakuren finds a narrow corridor between buildings just wide enough for her to walk comfortably down, she continues to listen to the two talk. The boy’s desires for learning were unique to say the least. Hakuren was a little confused with the older gentleman. Before he didn’t consider himself a suitable teacher but now he does. Make up your mind man. Though the man’s change of heart caught her off guard, she did manage to caught his name and clan name. She will have to make mental note off this clan. Perhaps some surveillance on the other members are in order. “Or two?” Hakuren spoke from her feline vessel still hidden from view. Considering the circumstances she determined that speaking would not give away her powers. “Are you saying that you are aware of my presence?” Osagi would likely find it annoying that he could not sense the blood of another human in his proximity. They could try to search for her by following her voice, but they’ll have serious trouble fitting through such tight passage. She’ll even start acting like a basic cat if they manage to spot her.

Ryuga was filled with as Osagi spoke. Ryuga wasn't quite sure whether or not he would accpet Ryuga's sudden request. After all, the two had just met. Then the thought of a trainer partner found its way into Ryuga's mind. That would be a very nice opportunity. He could learn from the other, as well Osagi. He nodded when Osagi finished speaking. Ryuga was more than ready for any type of training. As well the expectaions that came along with it.

"I understand that you would have some high expectations, especially if I was eager enough to ask a stranger for help. I'd be more than glad to go under your wing and learn from you. As long as it isn't a bother to you. If possible, I'd like to commence training in one week (In character)."

Ryuga was quite pleased with how things were turning out. He may have himself a new mentor. Ryuga twitched slightly when he heard the voice ask Osagi those questions. He looked around but saw no one. Ryuga was extremely confused, but he had a feeling that Osagi was not.

Osagi smiled when the youth agreed to his terms and said he would like to start in a week. Perfect it would give him time to find the other members of his squad. Before he could say anything her heard the voice of a girl asking or two? The words turned his head to snap in that direction, the blood forming thin deadly looking senbon. Those crimson eyes searching for the source of the noise. He couldn't sense anyone or their blood flow which meant they were hiding using something. When she asked if he was aware of his presence the man relaxed, the blood returning to its swirling pool.

"Impressive...no I was not truthfully. How is it you've hidden yourself from me? I can't sense you, not even any blood flow. Only myself, the boy and a cat. Are you using a puppet perhaps? Or a summon?" he would ask with a curious smile. How intriguing it seemed he had drawn out another interesting Sunan. Perhaps even a potential apprentice, if this was true it was apparent espionage was her specialty. For even he could not determine the source of her voice, something that he found to be most impressive.

"I was merely voicing my thought that more then one apprentice would be to my benefit. You should not jump to such conclusions, you willingly gave away your presence at the thought of being compromised. Many a shinobi has seen their death from doing so." he would say calmly, even if one was compromised it was easy to trick someone into thinking it was within their mind. He hoped to learn more about the mysterious voice, one could learn many things about someone during a conversation.

"I'm glad you accepted my offer Ryuga, I apologise for my initial hesitation." he would say calmly to the boy, those crimson eyes never leaving the direction of the new voice. It was unhealthy to turn your back to shinobi, particularly when you could not sense them.

Due to the nature of how she is collecting her surveillance, she is not concerned about death. If things turns south all she need to do in end the jutsu and instantly she’s gone. It was the benefits of not being in the place physically. “There are those who have said that I was quite the puppeteer, however I don’t use something as crude as a marionettes of clay or wood.” Hakuren uses living puppets both animal and human with her soul as the strings. “Tell me about this clan of yours. Any among them fit to teach a person with my… hidden talents?” She gives a small chuckle after her silly pun.

Hakuren then shifts her attention to the boy, “As for you Ryuga, I will be happy to offer you my services. Fighting may not be my strong suit, but I can show you the ways of the shinobi.” If Osagi thought his teaching methods were unorthodox, Hakuren’s was no less so. When she says shows him the ways of the shinobi, she means possessing him and showing him how to cast jutsu from within.

Ryuga was becoming slightly overwhelmed. He had training to look forward to from a man he had just met, and now a disembodied voice was also offering training. He didn't want to decline. But yet he hesitated. He was trying to wrap his head around his situation. Once he found his response he took a deep breath.

"Well, if you're going to try to train me, shouldn't you at least introduce yourself?"

He wasn't speaking in any particular direction since he had no idea what was speaing to him or where it was. He was getting a little excited. He may get two training sessions, or even more from complete strangers. It was a strange way to learn, but Ryuga was up for most anything the could through at him. Or so he thought.

Osagi wondered if she knew he was getting closer to working out what her abilities were. Called a puppeteer but from her tone dislikes marionettes nor did she like golems from her mention of claw and wood. So she used the living, meaning she was either a Yamanaka or they had a Human Puppet here. Although he doubted that was the case from her saying she dislikes marionettes. Following his line of deduction he had severely cut down the possible people within this village who their guest could be.

The Agent smiled at her next words, it seemed she wanted to know more of his clan. He would naturally only be happy to inform her about them. However before he could speak she asked Ryuga if he would like her to teach him the shinobi arts. Most curious she considered herself a teacher yet was smart enough to know she could learn. Osagi was surprised when the boy said she could at least introduce herself first. "Where do I start...you give to much about yourself away. For example from what you've said and shown I can deduce you are most probably a Yamanaka. One of the few people capable of true possession, besides demons. But I know enough demons to be able to sense them, you are not one. There is the slight possibility of you being a human puppet but due to the dislike of marionettes and golems I made a calculated deduction. Tell me am I right?" he would ask the kunoichi wondering if she was indeed a Yamanaka.

"To answer your question. The Miroku are many things, we operate in many countries. We seek knowledge and power. No doubt we seem complicated to outsiders, but our methods raised us into one of the major clans in Kirigakure. When it fell our way of life kept us alive, now we have reached many countries. Our people are in every facet of the great countries. From the education system all the way up to the powers that rule the countries. We have rooted out and exposed a powerful Shadow organisation within Kumogakure. Now we intend to deal with the Cabbal and the man who unleashed them upon Sunagakure. Our clan are the preservers of the shinobi way of life..." he would say calmly before thinking over those who the young kunoichi could learn from. At least he assumed she was a kunoichi and young from the sound of her voice. Although it was easy for one to manipulate their voice, his lips formed a thin mischievous smile.

"I could think of a few people who would be suitable to guide you, perhaps you should come by the Dojo sometime." he would say calmly before looking to Ryuga and giving the boy a warm smile. "Ryuga is right though it is considered quite rude for one not to introduce themselves, particularly among shinobi. May I ask what your rank is?" the Agent would ask in the direction of the voice. He found himself getting more intrigued about this newcomer wondering if Ryuga also felt the same way. Osagi wouldn't let any harm come to the youth, not while he was present.

[MFT]
OOC: If it had been someone like Akkuma they would have jumped when they heard the voice and unleashed jutsu XD Osagi is level headed though, a thinker. Loving the thread ninja's. ^-^

The man’s guess was right on the dot on however his logic had some hole in it. “Now, now are we forgetting something? Has a dark sage not crossed your mind? One capable of manipulating the dead, which has no need for blood. What about a sage of six paths? They control quite a few vessels and there are ways of hiding from your particular ability.” Hakuren herself possesses such a jutsu, which would allow her to transform herself into a being of pure chakra. Pure chakra means no blood for him to sense. As for golems she never considered it before. Now that the idea was presented to her she believes she may try it some time. It would be nice to make her own body rather than borrow somebody else’s. She would have to keep that idea in mind next time she goes out to explore.

“However you got lucky this time. Next time I suggest you put a little more thought into your theories before jumping to conclusions.” Then not only does the boy as for her name but so does the man. With a heavy sigh she admits defeat. Slowly she walks out for her hiding spot and into the light. Sitting down in front of them she introduces herself, “Considering you told me your clan it’s only respectful to introduce mine. I am Yamanaka Hakuren.” Despite the talking cat, this was not a summon. If contract animals proved anything is that beasts have the capability, but lacked the intelligence. This is why some Inuzuka companions can talk.

“My rank does not reflect my skills and that’s you need to know on that topic.” Technically she does not qualify to be an instructor, however she is of higher Rank than Ryuga and thus should be able to teach him some tricks of the trade. “So where is this dojo that you speak off? Or do you mean Toraono's”

OOC: If I remember my times at Stone correctly could Buru talk. So don't think me talking through animals is a stretch.

Ryuga was certainly not expecting the cat, yet he wasn't surprised. He made a mental note of this power that the Yamankas posses. He was aware that some clans had special abilities, such as the ever popular Uchiha clan and their Sharingan. He also made sure to retain the information about sages. It may help him at some point later on. Otherwise it's just a nice fact to know. He looked towards the cat when it revealed itself, and kept his eyes locked on it until it finished speaking, that is to say, Hakuren finished speaking. He wasn't expecting that she would criticize Osagi like that. But then again, she wasn't in any real danger if she was just controlling the cat. He then thought of the fact that Hakuren did not want to reveal her rank. Could she be a Genin? Ryuga didn't think that a Genin could perform such a jutsu, even if it was a Kekkei Genkai. He stil a lot to learn about the ninja world. He remained silent as he had nothing to say in response to Hakuren.

Smiling the Agent would answer her questions about his thought, it seemed she was doing much thinking herself. "I admit that briefly I thought about it, but a Dark Sages summons still have a chakra presence. Rikudo Sennin still possess blood, unless you are referring to their ultimate summon. One might hide from my blood, but there are ways of capturing an unforeseen foe." he would say calmly to the kunoichi's voice as she gave him her advice.

Those crimson eyes flashed with delight as out walked the cat he had been using for a brief lesson. 'Yamanaka Hakuren, I'll have to watch this one.' he thought who knew when she could be watching. "Well it's a pleasure to meet a kunoichi of your particular talents. As for the Dojo yes we are currently staying with at the Toraono Dojo. Until the construction of our Estate is finished. Although our mobile fortress is not far from the village." he would say with a smile, he would have apologised. But one risked being used as a lesson when they were spying on someone.

"Do tell me, what paths do you both wish to walk in this village?" he asked with a sly grin, knowing what they wanted was the first step to getting closer to them. Ryuga wanted to be better then his sister, something that would have his focus briefly. But Osagi wanted to know who they were, what they desired to be. Slowly he would learn what he needed to, with time he would build his team.

The boy did not seemed too awfully surprised about her appearance, but yet remained silent. “Cat got your tongue?” She asks Ryuga was a little chuckle. The older gentleman was quite happy to see that he was right in his assumptions for his eyes practically beamed with joy. Hakuren was curious about this mobile fortress he spoke of. Was it a tall building of stone and steal? Was it a structure of impenetrable fortitude? Or was it simply a glorified home on wheels? Despite her many questions she kept them all to herself.

Osagi then asks an interesting question and she was not exactly sure what it was that he was asking. What did he mean by path? Was he talking about the three branches or possibly the different focuses of jutsu? Perhaps he was going even broader to ask what their goals in life are. “My path I choose to follow is a long windy road. It is the path of enlightenment. Knowledge and wisdom are my guide posts. I have studied both man and beast and discovered many mysteries of the world.” The Yamanaka have been known to possess a higher state of mind, having a clear and sharp mentality one might even call Enlightened. This is due to the calm and tranquil environment they often surround themselves within, a world of flowers.

Ryuga thoguht about anything he had ever wanted to do in the future. He hadn't ever thought of what he wanted to do beyond besting his sister. He barely knew anything about the different branches, so it would be impossible for him to make a decision based on that. He closed his eyes for a moment and opened them once more before responding.

"Well... I suppose I'm not sure what path I'm taking. I'll go where the future takes me."
