Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

(I could just start in the village but the way i started out in my ocr, it wouldn't make any sense. Mind you, Not many would recognize my character as he is now due to the age difference of his last known appearance. But please, someone humor me. He's probably known to be on the MIA list or the Traitor list, which ever one is fine and is common knowledge, anbu or not)

The gates. Kumogakure first line of defense against an outside attack. The way in and out of the village for visitors and natives alike. The one thing thats probably as old as the village and yet still as strong as ever. The one thing that marveled Kaiji everytime he looked at them. His red eternal sharingan eyes scanned them for a shadow of a being, looking for someone. He wondered how'd they react. Not many even know whom he is. He wondered if he would see Joukuu as his first encounter back. If so would he recognize him? He now stood at five foot nine inches with long silver hair. His body was athletically toned. A black over coat that went the length of his body with black jeans and a grey long sleeve shirt underneath. A studded belt around his waist with his projectile holster strapped to it. The red sword called Kyoka now re-formed. Made into a longer, thicker sword with a red ruby in the hilt strapped to his back with no sheath. With the ruby in the center of the hilt, a cross formed the actual hilt, square shaped at the ends with black leather over the handle for a better grip. His shoes worn out and obviously worn but not falling apart.

The sun was still out and it looked about roughly one in the afternoon. It was one of Kumo's warmer days as well. The sunshine glistened in his hair as he took a breath in of the mountain air. The now grown up Uchiha stood there waiting for someone to come and ask him for the credentials and whom he was. He hoped this wouldn't be too much of a bother. He wasn't worried he would die, he was worried they wouldn't accept him back into the village.

I stepped away from the group of civilians as a new gate guard handled their paperwork to go speak to this man whom I wouldn't recognize. At that time in the day, I was dressed in some light ninja garb as to avoid the excess heat that heavy armor would have provided in one of Kumo's warmer days. I approached the man with a small smile, quite enjoying the days events. That is, the lack of events. A day guarding a slow gate was a good day for the village. As a slight wisp of warm air tossled my blonde locks, I looked up to the man from where I was standing; I was only fourteen after all. "Welcome to Kumogakure. If I may see your passport and any other relevant information you may have that will help speed things along."

(OOC: was waiting for someone else as well. dont feel like waiting any longer. lets have some fun^^)

The Uchiha looked as a shinobi from a younger generation came to greet him. He smiled politely at the kid, probably about five years younger than himself. A small breeze came through the air and he brushed his hair back out of his face. His sharingan eyes fixed on the young shinobi as he was asked for his passport and any information. Kaiji sighed slightly and pulled out his Kumogakure genin headband and gave it to the guard. "My name is Endo Kaiji, and I used to be an ANBU." He looked at the boy and then continued on with his talk. "I'm requesting an audience with whomever is ANBU sennin at this current time or the next person in line with power. I have a long story to tell, and unfortunately, only someone of that level will be able to do anything for me." He stood there, took off his sword and put his hand out to show he didn't mean any harm. He stook it into the ground so that he wouldn't be able to take it off his back and use it. He took a step backward away from it to show his sign of peace. He figured the less intimidating he looked the better of possibility of being helped would increased. But for now he waited for the response of the younger shinobi.

I stood there in my attire as dictated by the new sennin of the main branch. Both looking nice, as well as serving a functional purpose should I ever get into a bout at the gates. What surprised me was that instead of a passport that was given to me, it was instead the headband of our village. It seems that this individual was more than an ordinary citizen. "My name is Endo Kaiji, and I used to be an ANBU." he said with a sigh, a hint of dispair? "Used to be?" I replied in a questioning matter. I looked down to inspect the headband while he continued with his explanation. "I'm requesting an audience with whomever is ANBU sennin at this current time or the next person in line with power. I have a long story to tell, and unfortunately, only someone of that level will be able to do anything for me."

I smirked slightly and handed his headband back to him. While I personally was inclined to believe him, the nature of his request and lack of passport left me suspicious. However, the gesture of relinquishing his weapon was a step in the right direction as it was placed into the ground with force. I huffed in thought for a moment and spoke. "You obviously understand a request of this nature is most unusual. While I personally believe you, I must think of the village, as I can be wrong in my assumptions. Let me go check something and I will be right back." I said with a small smile before going over to where we kept the books of entries and other important documents.

I did my normal checks, only to find that I had indeed seen this name before. Endo Kaiji was in fact the name of a shinobi who was missing in action. I looked over my shoulder and gave into my belief. After all, the ANBU sennin was a powerful shinobi. If this man was a superb liar and in fact wanted to harm the village, I was sure I could help the sennin take him out in case he did attack. Reaching up to my ear, I chimed into the ANBU frequency.

"This is Guard Captain Ishikawa hailing the ANBU. A man claiming to be the MIA shinobi Endo Kaiji has requested an audience with Santaru-sama or her subordinate to explain his situation. Please advise, or let me know if you are on your way."

After making the call, I moved back over to the man. "You may very well get your wish sir. Now we wait for instruction, or for ANBU to arrive." I concluded.

Another day, another call to the Gates. What was she, an errand girl? A fishwife, called out to gossip? A quick sift through files noted that Endo Kaiji was MIA--possibly dead or perhaps turned. Rin donned her visor and cloak and left the shadowed precincts of the ANBU in a dark mood. Things had been going well. The pieces of her little infernal puzzle were coming together. The war had ended. Unrest in the countryside was gradually subsiding. The ANBU were doing well. And yet something gnawed; the passports she carried burned in her pockets. She needed to strike out and refresh her spirit, but when was the time ripe? "Santaru Rin, copy," she replied, emerging from the dead zone of the lift.

Some minutes passed while she made her way to border of the village's ward. She strolled into the dusty stretch beyond the Gates to see one of the Main Branch as well as a young man with a garish sword thrust into the ground nearby. Some grand gesture, no doubt. Not that it meant anything. The only shinobi safe to be around had his eyes gouged out, his hands and feet amputated, his tongue cut off, and his heart burned to ash. Even then, the shinobi remained a dangerous creature.

"I'm given to understand that you would like to make some excuses to me. For someone MIA for a year or so, you look remarkably hale, Endo-san." She came to a stop near the Main Brancher's side.

Thank you shinobi-san.</B><i></i> He spoke to the one who called in the request. He still hadn't learned his name but maybe now wasn't the time to learn it either. Waiting only a few moments someone was coming. His Sharingan locked in on the new commers body as they advanced closer. This wasn't the same ANBU sennin when he had left five years ago. But he knew whom this was. An ANBU sennin come back to her post. The infamous, Santaru Rin. He wondered when she had come back, but like the other ones name, now wasn't the time.

"Excuses? for someone in your stature maybe you'd call it that M'am. I've been gone for about five years now. I've grown, while you seem to be trouble about something, other than my appearance at the gates."<i></i> He took a breath, everything he said was calmly and at a polite tone, despite some of the words said. <B>"But no matter, your worries are not for me to worry about. I'm here to ask to be able to re-enter the village i swore to protect upon my graduation from the academy. I have a story, one you probably wont believe, but believe me when i say this, and i swear it under truth serum, I never left this village." Odd words coming from a man who was now currently standing outside the village by technical terms. But it was true, he never left the village willingly. He didn't mean to warp back to this plane on the outside of the village. But it was the only image he could think of clearly of where he wanted to go. Warping was a lot harder than most people thought. He was slightly nervous but tried to hide that. Meeting the new ANBU sennin on your first day back. Now thats a treat, even if you did ask for it.

"So what do you say. Listen to my story in the sileo or whereever you choose inside the village or are we going to have this talk out here?" He waited for a response. He didn't want to get into his story if he was going to be told to wait until they got inside. Regardless of it being warm or not, Kaiji just wanted to be home and being outside the gates made him feel slightly depressed. Locked out of his own home, even if it was by his own doing.

"I don't have anyone who's left for five years," Rin replied. "As for an AWOL shinobi being naturalized to the village, that is at the Raikage's discretion." Blathering about 'don't cry for me, Kumogakure, the truth is I never left you' nonsense would probably sway Hayata Shin, but that wasn't her responsibility. Still, she wouldn't waste time. The guy would get his answer, one way or another, today, and now, if her preferences had any meaning. (They rarely did.)

She switched her headset to Hayata Shin's secretary's frequency. "Ano, Hitomi-san, please notify the Raikage that an AWOL shinobi has arrived at the Gates, seeking reactivation." Permitting something of the sort wasn't within Rin's remit, and she wasn't very interested in advocating for a nobody whose first request was essentially a personal favor--being escorted down to the heart of darkness. As for the Raikage... If this man decided to make a move on Hayata, well, she and Hayata and this Main Brancher ought not have a problem mustering a defense. If they failed, then they deserved death, anyway.

Hitomi was in the middle of a conversation with serveral cladded businessmen who wished to seek an audience with the Raikage. Apparently, there were a lot of small businesses springing up after the aftermath of the civil war, many men were taking advantage of the lucrative opportunities. The crackling of her headset momentarily silenced her as her finger reached toward her ear. She held a index finger in the air seeking silence from the men. The men simply looked at each other pondering what was the problem.

The voice of the ANBU sennin was heard over her headset. "Ano, Hitomi-san, please notify the Raikage that an AWOL shinobi has arrived at the Gates, seeking reactivation." She briefly glanced at the men before excusing herself toward the empty hall. The tower was pretty quite for some time most of the shinobi were attending missions that seemed to be influx for some time now. The only people that Hitomi bumped into now and then was the Raikage, several ANBU guards, and the rest of Torre Celeste staff. "Yes, of course. Rin-sama. I am certain the Raikage would like to know the identify of this shinobi." She responded. "

I remained at the ANBU sennin's throughout this all, passively watching the shinobi who had decided to suddenly come back home. There was still the chance of threat that hung in the air, and as Captain, I was doing my duty of overseeing this dangerous situation. I had to remember to signal the other guards to go about their business however, I didn't want to many focused on this to miss any other potential threats that might take the opportunity to strike.

The Raikage? I wonder whom it is. Last time I knew it was Shin. But how could she not have me down for missing for five years. Im eighteen now and was thirteen back then. I don't understand. Does time flow differently there than it does here. Does one year here equal five there. I don't understand this. Slightly frustrated as he tried to make sense of this paradox in his head but he kept a calm face for the two in front of him. He didn't want them to think he was getting angry or going to attack them. He wondered if the Raikage would show up himself. He patiently waited to be told what was going to happen. He had no say in the matter at this time. He was just there for the ride, even if it was all about him.

He decided to listen into the conversation to be slightly nosey, just like he was as a child, somethings one never grows out of. He was no inuzuka but he wasn't deaf either, it was like they were miles away from eachother. If Kaiji whispered Rin could easily still hear him. He heard a voice, female, no idea whom it was. Kaiji deceided to be slightly impatient with this as it was taking a while now. Focusing a good portion of chakra into his voice, he yelled to where all of Kumo could hear most likely. MY NAME IS ENDO KAIJI!. Hopefully that would get someones attention, hopefully the Raikage heard it through the air and not through the headset. Rin wasn't holding the button, but one never knew. And hey, acting like a kid sometimes was fun.

[editted to move things along. sorry Rin]

The answer came with a vociferous cry. Hitomi could only winced when she hear that loud scream from her headset. Kaji could say an inaudible word and Hitomi could still identify him; the young man was rather ill-mannered at times. "I will let the Raikage know of his arrival, Rin-sama" She said as she placed the sennin on hold. There was a brief silence for some time until Hitomi's voice was hear again. "He will be on his way shortly. He will presented with a few guards if you do not mind the unwanted company." She completed.

Santaru Rin and Endo Kaiji could either stand there in silence or converse with one another. Either way it did not matter considering the short time it took for them to all arrive. The two could see a cloaked man with three stout masked men following at his stead. The man's eyes were hidden by the glare of his dark tinted glasses.

"Kaiji-san, I am overjoyed that you return back to your village. However, I am curious to know why you left in the first place." Shin said.
