Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Continued from here.

Kenshin would rush ahead of the party and prepare the Hokage's office as best he and the staff could. They made sure that Yomi's chair was comfortable and behind her a desk a small footstool was placed so she could pro her feet up if need be. Additional chairs were provided to make sure everyone had a seat.

Tea was being made for the guests and a pitcher of ice water was placed on a nearby table with glasses. Kenshin would sweep the room a few times to make sure everything was ok and checked the tea and water for poison (there was none). He would wait, standing just inside the doorway holding the door opened. There was no smiling at this time. It was time to get down to business.

Tatsuo followed along quite begrudgingly, had it not been for his incredible respect for Kenshin he may have tried to skip out on a meeting so soon. All this political mumbo-jumbo bothered him like nothing else. He was a free spirit, meant to travel and adventure not be stifled in some Hokage's office being told what to do and how to do it. His test scores would be a testament to that. Now for some reason Pregnant Umashi had to speak to him, he kept quiet for the most part not wanting to say anything too revealing of his attentions regarding to Saito. He'd let Touma manage that, he was honestly suprised he roped the Raikage into thinking he was real responsible. But he knew everything he said in that office was true, he really took a liking to Saito and wanted to help him grow as a shinobi. Only now he could hope Pregnant Umashi would allow him the same liberty. Since it would seem he was the second one to enter the room he walked in and did a quick bow to Kenshin, "It's great to see you again Kenshin-sensei. How's everything been? Academy doing alright? Seems you've done good for yourself since I left."

Yomi watched as Kenshin sped ahead, probably to get her office in order. The more pregnant she became the more in disarray her office had become. Not for lack of trying to keep it clean, it was because she couldn't get up and down as easily as before and everything was just terribly uncomfortable for her. Asuka had been by to help keep things in tip top shape but, she had been focusing her time on getting the penthouse in order for the twins instead. The Hokage smiled to herself thinking that she was really lucky to have Kenshin think about it at all.

As she got to her office, she would ask that the Cloud Student sit outside her office on the nice comfy couches while she talked to Tatsuo and the Cloud ANBU first. What she had to say was not for the student's ears. The Secretary, who was really Umashi's Secretary, that Yomi didn't have the heart to replace because that woman knew where the proverbial bodies were buried, would offer him something to drink and snack on while he waited on.

Sitting down, she offered them a chance to sit down, or not, it was up to them as she began to update them on the situation at hand.

"I know that this may come as a shock to you, however, the previous Hokage, is missing." She paused thinking about his recent sighting and she got mad all over again, but, did not allow her voice to betray her feelings.

"All that we really know is that he is alive and it is alleged that he is protecting us all from a threat that would destroy the world." Yomi sighed and sat back in her chair before she looked to Tatsuo. "At the time of his disappearance, I was immediately appointed Hokage. As of now he's been missing for nearly 10 months." The Hokage cleared her throat leaving the gritty details out because this was not the time for that, before she looked to the ANBU escort. "I apologize that Cloud had to find out this way, instead of more formally, however, we were and are still are preoccupied with finding him and seeing if we can help him out."

Pulling out a piece of paper she would begin to write a letter to Kaji, whom she knew to be the contact in Cloud to update him on all of the things that had happened since Umashi's disappearance. She would seal it with her Official Kage seal before sliding it across her desk to have the ANBU pick it up.

"If you could please give that to Kaji, as an update." Yomi knew that there would be loads of questions, if not from the Cloud ANBU, but, her own Leaf Nin, Tatsuo. She wouldn't blame him at all, if he was skeptical of her and her claims, but, she would do her best to assure him that this was the current state of things.

For the beautiful, pregnant Hokage, Saito could certainly sit patiently outside on the couches and accept a drink and snacks from her secretary. Of course, if the secretary remained some kind of available to talk, the cloud student would ask her all sorts of questions about Konoha, the Hokage, the secretary's job, where one might find good food, where the Konoha library is, and other questions pertinent to a 9-year old, particularly to this 9-year old. As long as the secretary entertained his questions, he would ask questions. As Saito noticed the poor woman's patience becoming exhausted, however, he would save her any awkwardness by switching to quietly reading -- either a book on a bookshelf in the waiting room, or a book he brought with him if no bookshelf existed nearby -- until his presence becomes requested or until Tatsuo took him away.

Shuusei Touma - ANBU Captain
NPC

The Cloud ANBU were led into the village. While some of them would obviously be interested to look around, they had been requested to come and meet with the Hokage. The one which none of them had expected. Last anybody from Cloud had heard, the Hokage was still Umashi. The very same man who had established their good relations with Konoha. This surprise revelation was a little bit concerning and Touma was going to find out what he could. The student was asked to stay outside, though the rest were invited to head into the Hokage's office.

Not wanting the room to be too crowded, Touma instructed the other ANBU to remain outside with the student, taking advantage of the couches to take a welcome rest after their journey. They kept to themselves and simply enjoyed the break. Touma followed behind Yomi with Tatsuo and took a seat as it was offered, preparing to hear whatever story was to come. While he was expecting to hear about a simple changing of the head that wore the hat, it seemed that it was more complicated that. Umashi was missing.

Touma took a breath and let it go. The kage was missing? It made sense why the village was not looking to advertise that at ever opportunity. The story went on as the new Hokage explained that Umashi was believed to be alive and protecting... the world.

"That certainly sounds ominous," Touma responded, not sure what else to say, simply allowing the Hokage to continue. She explained further that she had been the Hokage since Umashi had disappeared nearly 10 months ago. She apologized for the delay in letting Cloud know, but Touma shook his head.

"I understand," he said, realizing the chaos they would likely be facing with the kage not dead, but missing. He wondered if the ANBU who had intercepted them were following a lead on Umashi which led them out so far from the village. Should the Raikage go missing, Kumogakure would likely be facing similar troubles and sending out messages to alert others to his absence would likely not be high on the list of priorities. Touma watched quietly as Yomi wrote a quick letter and then accepted it as it was slid across her desk to him, nodding.

"Of course," he acknowledged, assuming this letter would contain more details than had been provided today. This reminded him. He had almost forgotten, given the startling revelations, that he had a couple of messages to relay. They had been intended for Umashi, but truly they were meant for the Hokage, whom now was seated before him.

"I have some messages to relay as well, while I am here. The first is regarding the shinobi we returned to you. What you do with him is your concern; however, should he be permitted by you to live, given the deception he attempted to use to enter our village for motives still unknown, I have been instructed to relay these restrictions regarding him, which have also been relayed to him: We must ask that he not be allowed to return to Lightning Country for a period of ten years. After such time, he should only return on official business, and only with two weeks notice and a chaperone," Touma relayed. This directive was from the Main Branch Sennin, Kagetsu Yuii. She was in charge of the gates of Kumogakure which had prevented Baba from entering the village. That message relayed, Touma leaned forward and produced a letter in an envelope with the Raikage's seal which he placed on the Hokage's desk.

"The second message is a request from the Raikage, Kogami Ayumu. This is in regards to the student sitting outside right now. Your Chuunin here, Tatsuo, has requested that he be allowed to bring the boy, Saito, to your village. He wishes to instruct him here, for a time. The Raikage liked the idea, thinking that it would help strengthen our alliance in the future should these young ones foster bonds with one another," Touma explained. If Yomi opened the letter on the spot it would, of course, say the same, though the message was, unfortunately, written under the assumption that Umashi remained the Hokage. [See Below]

"Given your situation here, I'm sure the Raikage would understand if you had to decline," Touma continued, giving the Hokage the out if she felt she needed it. He hoped, for the boys' sake, that she would comply. He knew that they were both very excited about the prospect of spending some time together in Konoha.
[spoilername="Letter to the Hokage"]Dear Umashi,

How's it going, fellow kage? Haven't had to wear those robes too much I hope. I'm sorry that I didn't send this letter ahead of the group who is delivering it to you now, but your Chuunin, Tatsuo, is very eager. He came to me with a request: to take our student, Samsara Saito, with him to Konoha and teach him. Normally, we don't allow our students to travel outside of the village, but I see this as an opportunity to help encourage our future generations to continue this alliance we have formed. Both of these boys could one day replace you and I, and having this shared experience could only help them bring our villages together whether they wind up donning the robes or not.

If you cannot permit this, for whatever reason, I understand. The escort I sent with them will bring Saito home with them. However, if this sounds like a good idea to you as well I would ask that you allow Saito to stay for a year under Tatsuo's tutelage. After that time, we will send someone to retrieve him. My hope is that at that time perhaps a student from your village may have the same opportunity to study in Kumogakure for a year so that we can continue encouraging these friendships.

At any rate, whatever you decide, I hope you are doing well. You never write! Take care, Umashi.

Sincerely,
Kogami Ayumu[/spoilername]

[ooc: So so sorry. I was sick and all this crap. Generally, it doesn’t take this long, I promise. Also skipping Kenny]

Yomi took the note from the Cloud ANBU representative and looked it over. It was a request for Cloud to have their student Saito stay for a time in Leaf as Tats had been. Although it was not the opportune time to have visitors, Yomi thought that the exchange would be beneficial as, Ayumu had stated.

Yomi hastily scribbled the reply to Ayumu and sealed it, pushing it towards the ANBU along with the letter to Kaji.

“I see no issue with Saito staying. He’s welcome here for just as long as Tatsuo was in Cloud.” Yomi nodded.

“As for the prisoner, I have no qualms about that either. While the decision about his life has not been made yet, if he does live and he returns during those 10 years and he is caught, you have my permission to do as you see fit. After that he will be escorted as you request should he be required to be there.” In the back of Yomi’s mind, she wondered if Baba was even alive as she said this. Knowing her ANBU, who are always ready to pounce on anything that moved indiscriminately, it became less and less likely as the time passed.

Letter to Kaji:
Kaji:
I’m writing to update you on the happenings in Leaf. I know that you and Umashi are friends, and I regret that I must inform you that he is currently missing and has been for many many months. I am writing to you as his wife and the current sitting Hokage.

As of now, we know that he is alive and he’s facing insurmountable odds. With that said, we both know him and we both know that there are very few things he cannot come back from. I just wanted to let you know, and I am sorry that it took me so long to update you.

I hope to visit Cloud soon. Perhaps we can talk in person at that time.

Sincerely,
Yomi

Letter to Ayumu:
Kogami Ayumu:

Firstly, let me formally introduce myself. I am Yomi, current sitting Hokage of Leaf. I regret to inform you that Umashi has been missing for many months now. I am sorry that we have not reached out to you sooner, however, as you can imagine, we have been quite busy with the investigation into his disappearance. For now, we know he is alive. I along with a few others have seen him, and it has been reported that he is fighting a battle that should he loose, would destroy the world as we know it.

Quite dramatic.

As of now, we are doing everything in power to try and help him, but, as far as we know he is not able to reach out to us, and therefore we cannot reach out to him. If you come into contact with him, please let us know.

In the meantime, we hope that whatever he is facing, he can overcome for all our sakes.

As for Samsara Saito, we would love to have him in Leaf. I see know issue with him staying.
I hope that we can meet in the very near future.

Regards,
Yomi

“If that is all everyone, I am quite hungry and I have another appointment. Of course, if you are in no rush to return to Cloud, you are welcome here ” Yomi eyed the clock on the wall, knowing that every minute here, was a minute off Baba’s clock. She had questions and if he was dead, she’d get no answers.

"Tatsuo! You have grown! It has been some time and you are far stronger than last we met. I have been doing well. I am now Kage Guard. New responsibilities and all but still teaching as well. We should catch up more later." Kenshin would talk to Tatsuo for a moment before listening in.

They would be greeted by everyone in time and he nodded at Yomi as he closed the door whenever everyone was in.

The meeting was an exchange of information and letters it seemed.

An agreement was made and a goodbye was issued.

Kenshin would open the door again.

"Please enjoy your stay here in Leaf before you leave. If you need anything please ask. Tatsuo welcome back and let us catch up soon." Kenshin would say.

After everyone would leave, he would turn to Yomi.

"I will be in my office unless you need me." Kenshin would say, bow slightly and then leave.

The new Hokage was open to allowing Saito to stay, which was likely a relief for Tatsuo in a series of probably shocking news. With the Hokage's blessing, Saito would be allowed to stay for a year before someone would return to retrieve him. Additionally, Yomi had no issue with the stipulations the Main Branch Sennin had made regarding the prospect of any return to Cloud by Baba. From the sound of it, the possibility of his living was not certain at this point. It was not any of Touma's concern, however. Once she was finished penning her letters, she passed them along to Touma who took them and slipped them into his belt pouch. With that, the Hokage seemed in a hurry to end their meeting and Touma was satisfied with the outcome.

"Of course. Thank you for your hospitality. I'll make certain these letters are delivered. It was good meeting you, Lord Hokage," Touma said, standing and giving a bow before turning to Tatsuo. "It sounds like you're all set. Take care of Saito. We'll be looking for him in a year," he said before nodding. "And take care of yourself too. Be seeing you," he concluded before heading out to where Saito and the ANBU awaited. "Your stay has been approved. Enjoy yourself here, Saito," Touma said before turning to his ANBU.

"We will take a few days rest before our return. Dismissed," he instructed the ANBU who would be glad for the respite. With that, the ANBU including Touma would clear out leaving Saito and Tatsuo alone.

Tatsuo was very happy to see Kenshin again and after their brief catching up he listened to what Yomi had to say about Umashi. Guess he isn't just using a transformation jutsu. It brought him some obvious pain to hear this news, when he was younger he didn't like Umashi for forcing him to become a medic, but with age he grew to respect the man and to hear that a Hokage was now missing truly made him uncomfortable. He bit his lip in thought, he looked to Kenshin to see his reaction to the news but assumed he had already known about it for much too long. However the meeting wasn't all bad, being told that Saito would be able to stay brought him great joy and when the two were informed Tatsuo stuck out his fist to offer a fist bump to Saito. "Man.. as hyped as I am.. let's go find a hotel room. I could use some sleep." he said laughing, the worry that something might happen to prevent him from training Saito was finally gone. "C'mon kid." he would say before making his way out of the building with Saito in tow.

Saito had nodded off in the waiting room, his head bobbing up and down over a history book he'd been reading that he found on a nearby bookshelf. The pictures and descriptions in the book of the country's Hokage, while riveting to the young boy, still had difficulty keeping him awake after well over two days of travel without real sleep. His head bobbed up snoozily when Touma came out, telling him that he could stay. The child nods, a touch blearily, with a wide and tired smile. "It was nice meeting you, Touma-san! Saito says, sliding to his feet and bowing to the ANBU. "Until next we meet!" Saito then pounds Tatsuo's fist with his own and trails behind the older boy as they both exit. The young cloudie could stay in Konoha! He would be so much more excited about that fact! In the morning!
