Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

That day, Izura was tired as hell. It had been a long day’s work, and just earlier that day, he had apprehended several bandit-ninja in a classroom at the academy.

Just as quickly as Izura had completed the job, he had left. But there were more jobs like that within the span of a single day. Being a high ranking rogue ninja with a reputation did have it’s perks, but it also often meant that due to his high success rate, he was high in demand for work.

Izura made his way to one of his favorite places to eat after a long day of work. It was early evening, and the street lamps lit the way to a bustling section of street where the establishment he sought was located. The sign read “Inochi no Karē Ya”, or the Curry of Life shop. While Izura wasn’t a huge fan of spicy foods, the establishment offered a mild curry that Izura just couldn’t get enough of. It still held a modicum of spiciness, but it was just enough to where the veteran Uchiha shinobi wasn’t completely overwhelmed.

He sat down at one of the bar side seats, exhaling in relief. It wasn’t long till he ordered Beef Curry, Mild with some white rice and vegetables…

Izura withdrew a flask of water from his belt pouch and took a decent swig of it. There really wasn’t anything like cool mountain water.

The Uchiha had a lot on his mind and he needed a break. It wasn't stress or anything of the sort, just a lot of pressure that was getting him down. Sora was the top of his class and would be graduating soon, he had high expectations placed on him. Being an Uchiha they were usually supposed to be geniuses or something. What he pondered was who would his teammates be when he graduated? Usually Genin were put into teams of three with a Jounin leader. That thought passed quickly as his stomach growled. It seemed he was getting a bit hungry.

Ramen? No... Dumplings? No.... he had those already this week. He wanted something new. A new thought popped up though, who was that Uchiha from his last class? He was definitely a missing nin or from another village since he himself was the only one in Leaf. The other likely completed his business and left right away... at least that's what he thought. Next thing Sora knew was he was looking at the back of the other Uchiha. Sora stopped and watched him walk into a restaurant. Well... everybody gets hungry at some point.

Sora shrugged and followed him in. He lost the other Uchiha for a moment before spotting him at the bar area. Sora then walked up behind him and began pulling up a seat. "I'll just have a water please.. Sora then looked over at the other. Since he only ordered a drink, it came quickly so he grabbed the cup and took a drink of it. "So why are you here in Leaf?" He gave a small smile. Most people would just see them as siblings, having the same characteristics and all. That however was not the case.

Breathing at a steady pace Shinobu ran through the streets of Konoha with shinobi speed. He waved at some of the local merchants with a smile on his face before stopping in front of “Inochi no Karē Ya”. Stretching a bit before walking over he sat down at one of the empty stools to the side of the bar next to a stranger. "Good evening!" he said announced to no one in particular with a large grin on his face. Looking back at the cook he waved and spoke up "My usual please, gotta keep my training up!" The cook got a somewhat disturbed and annoying frown on his face after recognizing Shinobu, then turned around and started putting together plates of food.

Looking to the stranger to his right Shinobu began speaking as if they were old aquantences all while pulling out a few small vials from his belt pouches and arranging them along the side of his place setting. "Man isn't it nice weather out tonight? Great time to train. What are you up too tonight? Man it feels good being back home in Leaf after so many years. Didn't know how much I liked the katsu karē (カツカレー) here until I couldn't get it anymore. Stone never had food as good as there was growing up here." Shinobu finally stopped his rambling when his two plates of food arrived. One was the main dish of fried pork cutlet over curry rice, the second plate however just held four piles of the spiciest curry the shop had to offer. Without missing a beat Shinobu took pinches of one of the piles, leaned his head back and sprinkled the dangerous curry in his eyes. He then proceeded to dump the rest of the ultra hot curry on his food before unstopping the vials he had placed out earlier and pouring them on the food as well.

Taking a big whif of the plate he smiled as his eyes began to water and redden from the curry assault. Picking up his chopsticks he almost started eating before suddenly exclaiming "Ahhh almost forgot" Reaching into his belt pouch he pulled out a small air canister with a large skull and crossbones on it, popping the top into his mouth he hit the gas release button and inhaled the entire bottle of Mustard Gas poison. The vials he had poured onto his food also seemed to contain large skull and crossbones warnings on their labels next to the 'Botulinum Toxin' tag. Looking down through his curry soaked eyes he put a large stupid smile on his face before he started to dig into the food like a ravenous animal.

First, a kid comes up to him that he wanted nothing to do with. Next, some dude started consuming straight up POISON next to him.

It was ironic. Here they were at the Curry of LIFE shop, and here Shinobu was, putting enough poison into his meal that it was more a curry of DEATH than anything else. A whole lotta NOPE alarms were tripped by this duo. Shinobu also made allusions to being a part of Stone at one point. Was he aware that Izura bombed the gates of Iwagakure, knocked out at least 4 anbu, hospitalizing two, fought the Anbu sennin, infiltrated the Stone anbu's ranks and information network....AND evaded the Stone Anbu sennin halfway across the known shinobi world? Basically, for all intents and purposes, Shinobu was sitting next to a bona fide enemy of Iwagakure, and rogue ninja.

The little Uchiha kid asked him what he was doing in Leaf. Frankly, Izura didn't want much of anything to do with him. Brothers? Maybe...but as far as appearance, Izura's irises were naturally a pale red in color, even with his sharingan deactivated. That subtle detail was enough to set the two apart appearance wise.

He ate a few spoonfuls more, glancing at the two before packing away his dinner in the nice little to-go box that he had ordered. He thanked the gods he ordered to-go. Placing a healthy sum of yen on the table, he stood up and walked away. A whole lotta NOPE in a short amount of time.

It wasn't long before he turned the corner and down an alley way back in the direction of the clan houses. Izura didn't associate with Leaf's Uchiha clan, especially after going rogue 15 years ago...

He placed his pockets in his hands and sighed. Why was it that the weirdos always showed up right when he expected to be alone and able to relax? That seemed to be a common theme in the village- people showing up in the least expectant of places when the original person there didn't want them there. Then again, Izura didn't have much room to talk- he was guilty of it too, crashing Yume's class, crashing Yume's photo shoot, and crashing at Yume's garden. That was a whole hell of a lot of crashing. But at least he didn't poison his food, act like the second coming of Sasuke, mutilate the limbs of unconscious people in front of children, or stalk idols in the middle of a godforsaken forest filled with everything trying to kill you, just to decide to spar in the middle of a group of people.

Izura himself wasn't far from the two. Just around the corner he was walking down the alley...

[You guys weirded out Izura so much that I had to think hard about a reason to stay....suffice to say Izura hasn't LEFT the topic, but he might end up doing so depending on your next moves.]

After the Uchiha asked his question, somebody familiar showed up. But... is that poison? Holy shit this dude is hardcore. Eating nails for breakfast, chugging poison the next. What is his body made of. Normally he'd just instantly die. Done. The end. But even after chugging down the poison he went off with a conversation. What was he?

As Sora's gaze switched back to the other, he already was on his way out. Just what the hell was his problem? Ooh too cool for this time to skiddadle. What a joke. Since he only ordered water, it was free. This left Sora open to storm off after him. No that he thought about it, this guy was pretty similar to himself. Just how he behaved in general. Of course that wouldn't show now with Sora being definitely out of character by chasing after him, but this guy.. this was a different story, an exception to his normal self.

Sora ran after him and pulled on his arm. "Geez what's the rush? Look, I've never seen you here in the Leaf before. Who are you? What are you doing here? If you won't talk..." Sora had to pause for a moment. Just what exactly could he do? This man was likely way above him in experience and power. He was but a worm to him. He hates it. The feeling of being beneath somebody. "... I'll fight you and make you talk. You'll acknowledge me and finally answer." Sora simply looked at him with a serious, determined face, fist clenched as the other held him firm.

Just as he started to dig into his food Shinobu notice the Uchiha kid. He leaned back on his stool to get a better view of the Leaf student on the other side of the stranger. "What! Hey Sora-san. Heh, nice to see you here, keeping up with your training? Man I call this one Kid Badass, you should have seen when.... What? Hey, where is everyone going?" As he leaned back Shinobu almost missed the stranger paying his bill before standing up to leave. He then took a double take as he watched Sora bolt up outa his stool and chase after the stranger. "What? Where is everyone going? I have barely finished my first course!"

Bending over the bar Shinobu began shoveling food in his mouth while standing up at the bar. "Sorry, no second course tonight chef-san!" The disappointment in Shinobu's voice was only matched by the amount of relief seen on the cooks face. Throwing money down on the table and picking up his plate of food he went to catch up with the others. Rounding the corner he stopped at the entrance to the alley and casually leaned up against the building as he munched on more of his food. "Geez Sora, pickin a fight with strangers could be a bad idea." Looking down the alley at the two of them he sighed noticeably before speaking up. "It is rude to threaten people such Sora-san. If you wish to know who the man is then simply ask to see his passport, all visitors have to have them." Continuing to eat his poison laced food Shinobu kept his gaze on his plate while setting his senses on edge.

From the distance, heavy footsteps can be heard gradually approaching in the boys' ears. Huffing and puffing, a hand grasped tightly onto the hat on her head as it kept her long red hair from splaying out into the night.

Covering her eyes and disguising her full visage by looking downwards to the ground, the girl laughed breathlessly as she turned around the corner. She glanced over her shoulder - sure enough, her assailant so to speak was nothing but a faint call for her to come back. In her other hand was the key.

Pocky.

"Who cares if it's sugary carbs, Mama never gained any weight," she muttered under her breath. "I deserve this after today!"

The headset in her ear crackled and his voice yelled at her to come back to the building. No way, no how!

Turning another corner into an alley, her downward gaze failed to detect the three pair of feet in front of her. It hardly stopped her when she bumped shoulders with someone though. A short stumble later, she was back into her quick running pace.

"Sorry!" she risked calling over her shoulder to the three, especially the one she bumped into. Reaching the end of the alleyway, the girl re-entered the open streets and disappeared to the left.

"A-Ah!!! Where'd my Pocky go?!"

By their feet was where.

Annoyed at the kid for his persistence, Izura glared slightly at Sora. He was about to move when Yume came barging into the scene, bumping Izura’s shoulder and knocking Sora’s hand free of Izura’s sleeve. Izura was distracted for a split second at Yume’s sudden appearance, blushing before regaining his composure. In the next moment, without even activating his sharingan or doing hand seals, he placed Sora under a genjutsu. It was a technique that made it appear as if Izura had done absolutely nothing, to the naked eye.

One moment, Sora was in reality- standing in the alleyway with Shinobu, Izura, and a fleeting Yume. Night time in Konohagakure.

The next moment, the scene would be replaced by an empty darkness, extending out to the infinite limits of his sight. Izura was standing away from him, 25 meters away. And then all of a sudden the sky would light up, a blazing beam of scorch chakra crashing down and drowning Sora in it’s immolating fire. Sora would feel a heat more intense than any fire jutsu known. Despite being harsh on the young Uchiha boy, Izura held back from any further intensity. Increasing the heat within the illusion, or even extending out it’s perceived effects would’ve killed the boy or rendered him unconscious. Instead, he did just enough to where Sora would have felt severely exhausted, burned alive for a brief moment.

In reality, this genjutsu only lasted a brief moment. No more than a few passing seconds. But for Sora, the sensation and perception of being burned alive would feel like it lasted for at least 30 seconds.

Izura turned to look at Shinobu, a slight look of annoyance on his face. He stood there, wondering what the chuunin would do, before sighing and turning to walk away.

Sora stared at Izura for a few moments before knocked away by a wild Yume. The wild Yume flee'd. As he looked back at Izura, he noticed something it was dark. Next, Izura was a distance away. About 30, 25 feet? He already was that far out. What was this? Sora took a moment to wipe some sweat off his forehead... sweat? Was it getting hotter? Why was it this hot? Why isn't it stopping? A genjutsu... this has to be a genjutsu, but no way it hurts this much. The pain is just increasing, it's like he was burning alive. He could fee himself melting, burning. His skin was disappearing and instead he was red, his whole body was melting into a puddle of nothingness.

Sora opened his eyes. Izura was gone. The heat was gone. Shinobu was still here. He was on his knees, sweating and panting. Shinobu said something earlier, asking for a passport. He doubted the man would listen but.. that had to be a genjutsu. He felt just as if he were being burned alive though. Sora quickly used his Sharingan and looked around, he noticed the man was nearby but.. what if he killed him for real? Sora had to see him sometime but... perhaps this wasn't the time nor the place. Sora then finally stood up.

Coal colored eyes shifted back to shinobu as his sharingan deactivated. It seemed he was still here. Did he get hit with the genjutsu as well? Probably not. This guy despite his looks was actually a pretty high ranking ninja.. Jounin? Maybe a Chuunin. If not Jounin then definitely a Chuunin though."I... I don't think it is safe to go after him.. well, at least at high profile. He's dangerous. While I was at class he invaded and attacked a bunch of girls that happened to be bandits but left. Normally that's okay. However I have never seen him before, and I can confirm he is an Uchiha. He isn't of the village and refused to say his name or reason for being here. He could be up to something..." Sora closed his eyes and released a sigh, the feeling of that genjutsu low key remained..

Still munching on his food Shinobu almost missed the red haired singer as she slipped by their group. With a casual flip of his hand up in a peace sign he spoke towards her as she left"HI Yume-san, Bye Yume-san" turning back to the alley once she was gone he saw Sora freeze for a second and then Shinobu saw his face twist in a painful manner. Before he had time to react the stranger had left Sora and Shinobu alone in the alley. As the kid snapped out of his moment Shinobu went over to check on him. "Hey buddy you okay?" Looking down he listened as the young Uchiha explained what had just happened. Furrowing his brow Shinobu looked down and said, "Stay here Kid Badass, I'll be right back. Turning back to where the stranger had gone Shinobu lept onto the rooftops then bound forward to catch up with him. In a sudden slam of his bodyweight to the ground Shinobu blocked the path of the stranger. With a angered and loud voice he started to yell. "Who the he'll do you think you ARE? You can't just go around picking on academy students like that. What are you a COWARD?" Reaching a hand up Shinobu pointed his finger menancimgly at the man "That kid has more heart and dedication to this village than any three Jounin I know. You're not going anywhere until you apologise to him! RIGHT NOW!"

[ Stopped from leaving until an apology is given to Kid Badass]

Kenshin had finished a day of teaching at the Academy. His students were glad he left because they were all exhausted. He only made them run around the school a few thousand times. Kids these days don't know how to work up a sweat. As such, he was heading towards a little shop that sold some delicious food, deciding not to cook tonight.

What he saw when he arrived was Shinobu, one of his older students, yelling at someone on a roof top while an academy student stood on the ground nearby.

Well there goes his quiet meal. Cracking his neck, he approached.

The three of them would see a man standing 5'8 in light shinobi attire. Silver hair cut short, the golden bar and hoop on his ear and left eyebrow seemed to glint in the light. On his hands were a set of heavy gauntlets.

"Shinobu relax. What is going on here?" Kenshin would say crossing his arms and glaring. Whatever this was it was disturbing people and it should be stopped now.
