The group had made their decision... they were going right.
As they began, young Kei would take the forward position of the group and begin to press onward with weapon in hand. Shenlong, if he was still reading the images on the wall, would notice that they would start to change. They were crudely carved into the walls but did not seem to be necessarily rushed. They also seemed to copy a lot of the imagery from the main passageway the group had just exited from. Yet, even so, and even if the crude work seemed to perfectly mimic many of the previous drawings they had seen, it would still be clear that these were forgeries at the hand of a different artist. At this time there wouldn't be any new drawings or images that would be too drastically different, still depicting Primus, humanity, and the Ancients, but there would be one small noticeable change. Next to Primus would be a human who would be drawn slightly bigger than other imagery used for humans. Primus was always depicted as large in the drawings, growing large as the story progressed, but the rest of humanity stayed at a similar smaller scale. Was this to show the difference in the presence of Primus standing at the top of humanity or was he just legitimately huge in proportions? Either way, the commonality was that humanity was always small, similar in height, and lacking features, to further accentuate Primus. Yet, there was now another figure standing next to the image of Primus, who seemed to be growing bigger throughout the tell of Primus and gain additional features. Who was this? Did it really matter?
Venturing down the path, with the light of the flare fading the further they ventured into it, they would start to hear a sound coming from up ahead. It would be hard to fully discern what the noise was, but best guesses would fall along with the following; groans in anguish, growls in anguish, or some trick that occurred in underground passageways with sound reflecting off the walls. That said, there was still a noise coming from up ahead.
Before the group would reach whatever the source of the noise was, they would encounter another fork in the path. This time the path would either continue forward or would begin to dip down further into the ground. The path ahead, if the group used sources of light, would be more of the same of what they had been seeing in this new path. Aiming a source of light into the lower path, they would see a spiral set of stairs carved out but nothing would be on the walls. If they listened in, the sounds they were hearing would be clearly coming from the lower path. If the group remained silent and still and waited for one of the long pauses between the noise coming from the lower path, they would hear a different sound coming from the path ahead. This sound would not sound human or animal, but instead would be more of a consistent ambient noise.
Once more the group would find themselves tasked with making a choice. Continue forward in this new unknown or dip down lower into the depths of the underground?
