The Desert Expanse New

Formerly plagued by a terrible sandstorm for the past three decades that was so terrible it forced Sunagakure underground has finally receded. Despite the absence of the Diamond Maelstrom, as it used to be called, this terrain is still not without its dangers. Roving bandits, nomadic people who will find you strange and perhaps even tasty, to the occasional wild beast as small as a dune hare to something far, far bigger. Those who trek this particular zone of the desert best come prepared for the absolute worst.

The Diamond Ocean New

Following the end of the Diamond Maelstrom, a large portion of the Desert Expanse was once again made visible to the world. One particular stretch of this land had gained a beautiful after effect of the storm settling; a diamond coating. Because of this, the sand seems to glisten in the sunlight and look white in the moonlight. Don't let the beauty fool you, however, as the Diamond Ocean is home to many creatures and locations that were once hidden from outside contact, but are now once more free to roam and enter.

Sora

Sora functions as the home to many of Wind's powerful lords and nobles, and as such provides both reason and means for its own existence. A powerful trade capital in its own right but not nearly as much so as Soon's Haven, Sora is the single largest society upon Wind's easternmost shores, Sora is also the oldest village, predating Sunagakure and Soon's Haven by quite some time. Sora was originally a small fishing society for the first agrarian tribe and in fact, one of the oldest families of this tribe holds the mantle of power over this community. As such, Sora's roots grow deep and strong in Wind's dusty soil. Benefiting not only from this advantageous positioning in regards to business exporting and importing goods from around the known world, Sora also has what could be described as the most stable, temperate climate; with Wind Country's ever-present sun, cool winds blowing in from the sea and naturally deep harbors, as well as an exotic culture rising from the mixture of many different systems of belief, cuisine and craft, Sora is a popular vacation resort and an even more popular home for those with wealth and influence, bringing the village much of its funds through these two concerns alone.
