Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Yuna quietly walked through the busy streets to get to her destination. A local shop that has some good ramen. Too bad that there is a lot of people. People really is not her thing. Especially big groups. It's not like she's a shy quiet person. She just likes her own solitude. That and she is basically a ticking ti.e bomb with the demon that resides in her.

It was night time and snow coming up to just above the ankle of people has settled in with more slowly falling their way towards the ground. Everyone was in good spirit, while others, too much. Yuna watched as some drunks were hobbling their way either back to their homes or to some inn.

With a sigh, she gently pushed through the crowds, to not make any angry drunks come her way, and made it into her favorite ramen place. It was bustling with people, both customers trying to sit and waiters tending to tables. It almost seems chaotic, but Yuna was used to it. The smell had hit her first. She can tell all the spices and ingredients used to make the masterpieces of ramen were freshly used. That is another thing she likes about this place. Everything that they use here is freshly made. Which would explain the garden that they have in the back for fresh vegetables. Of course they have made precautions in case it does snow, so all the vegetables are growing without having to worry about snow snuffing them out. She thinks they added something called a glass house or whatever it is called around it?

As Yuna waited for the usual waiter to come, she brought out her portable cassette player and muffy headphones and put it on. It is a weird thing. A strange little box being able to make music that already exists to be able to be heard by one person. Then again, she can toss meteors around if she wanted to, maybe the thought of these music boxes really isn't so farfetched.

The thing about a good story was that they always seemed to start with a pretty basic premise. As many times as Umashi had visited various ramen shops around the world, he always found that there was a decent story to tell. It almost seemed to be the calling card for such establishments and this one proved to be no different. Seeing the usual sort of unusual faces, he took his seat and raised the mouth portion of the mask. Dressed in his typical ANBU garb, it was clear that he was a man just getting off of duty but considering that only his mouth was visible, it was also clear that he could quickly shift gears and dash off back to the front lines if he needed to. Ordering the house special, he kept his hood up so as to avert too much attention towards his distinctive features but with all the characters around, he probably was more than overly cautious concerning somebody figuring out who he was actually. Knowing who was in the ANBU was one thing but knowing who they were and when they would be on duty was another. Dressing alike while on duty was more so a protection than someone's idea of a fine fashion sense. When his ramen finally reached him, Umashi tanked the staff and began to dig in. He hadn't ate in hours and at the rate that things were going, he was likely to have to work a double instead of being able to go home and enjoy a comfy bed.

As Yuna got her food, she noticed a fellow ANBU operative sitting down to eat. Yes, fellow ANBU operative. This fellow was his whole ANBU get up. She just doesn't wear hers unless if she is doing a mission that requires the mask. Eh, she doesn't really care all that much. People have lives outside of the ANBU life.

It reminds her of what she promised her dad. All so that he won't recklessly throw himself into the thick of things ever again. A sigh escaped her lips as she reflected and ate her ramen in silence. While she was listening to music, more so background noise that is better than people talking, she saw motion. She didn't need her headphones off to know that a drunk was involved. And a fellow ninja to top it off. The guy obviously came from off the streets, a little bit hungry. But otherwise, he was being rather rude, she can tell that the man in his clouded mind, was about to swing on one of the waitresses.

Yuna's eyes widened, her body moved on its own. She caught the man's punch with her left hand, and didn't even think twice of knife hand chopping the pressure point near the neck, as she watched the drunkard crumble down to the ground. She took off her head phones as two more men came in and looked down at the ground to see their buddy knocked out. "I suppose he's your friend? Take him back to his residence."

The other two ninja scowled, but did as they were told knowing that they would be in the wrong if they try to attack someone who had stopped a guy who was about to hit an employee. As the three of them left, Yuna took a deep breath and sat back down, talking to the waitress that almost had a knuckle sandwhich. "You okay Tyria?" The waitress nodded and thanked her.

You should have killed that man when you had the chance. The voice of Jashin's Beast echoed in her head. She only shook her head. The man was going to hurt Tyria, but once he was knocked out, he is no longer a threat. She sat back down at her booth and looked down at her remaining ramen. It was still a lot, but she feels as if she has lost her appetite.

One to mind his business when it benefitted him, Umashi kept to himself despite the rude shinobi making a ruckus. While it wasn't that he or those with him where truly threatening the peace of things, they were definitely making enough of a scene that it was beginning to be an embarrassment to the establishment that was the shinobi base. There were far too many civilians mixed in with actual shinobi and other sorts of political appointee types that wouldn't waste a single breath on fighting against another rule or law being put into place to the detriment of decent shinobi just trying to do their jobs.

As far as Umashi saw it, the guy was cruising for a bruising and no sooner than Umashi received his ramen then the guy decided to make a scene that couldn't be ignored. Catching one anticipating the first strike, one patron leaped into action and utterly dismantled the public nuisance before he could ruin what would have been an otherwise perfectly fine hour. It was when the young woman sent the guy and his friends packing that Umashi gave a low mournful whistle and turned back towards his ramen. All eyes had been on the kerfuffle but Umashi was going to be diligent about minding his own business for the sake of not getting his hands dirty for free. If anybody was so inclined as to ask his opinion about things later on, he'd simply say that whatever happened, happened and that he was off the clock.

Yuna only took a couple more bites from her bowel of ramen, before she lost her appetite. After the brief altercation and her inner demon piping up, she can't help but just sit there and think. Stirring what was left of her ramen with her chop sticks, before the waitress comes back and asks if she wants anything else. "No, thank you. Here." She paid for her meal and added more money for tip that Tyria can keep.

Why are you being so nice? The demon asked in her mind. "Because I'm no heathen like you. Life's not all about going on a rampage and killing everything in sight." she said under her breath. "Sometimes I hate being a Jinchurikki. Scratch that, a lot of the times." She was at the door, about to leave the restaurant, looking back at Tyria who was serving the other ANBU operative, who seemed more or less staying to himself. Well at least nothing else was happening.

With a sigh of relief, Yuna left the ramen restaurant to roam the streets. As she walked, Jashin's Beast voice echoed in her mind. Being nice like that can backfire on you. killing takes away those threats. Yuna rolled her eyes, "Shut it."

Continuing to note the comings and goings of the those order ramen at the particular shop, Umashi finished his ramen and ordered another bowl before he soon was full enough to feel like he'd gotten his money's worth. Thanking the staff he continued on with his night as he opted to take the long way to his temporary home. Used to living in the mountains, the new lodging that he found himself in while staying in Kumo was passable but still not as spacious as he was used to. Really, with his family being hidden away safe, he found the experience to be somewhat lacking in the way that most people with families found an empty home. Simply put, Umashi was lonely and missing his loved ones but there was always work to be done and his vacation days fortunately started going towards a good use when he'd visit his family. Taking one turn and then another, he found himself walking under the cover of night and the various lamps that lit the pathway to provide a sense of safety. In a village full of trained warriors, most people weren't afraid of the night but there were still some habits that would never change no matter what. Thinking of what book he was going to crack open when he got home, Umashi didn't quite pay attention to where exactly he was going.

Yuna was having a whole mental argument with Jashin's Beast. She was tired of actually speaking and knows that it can read her thoughts as long as she thinks of simple stuff. That, and she doesn't want to have any passerby's give her anymore strange looks than need be. And she gets plenty of that from that gem in her forehead. She put up her hood, the dark of the night making only her eyes visible from under the hood. A sigh escaped from her lips.

All she wanted was a normal and happy life. Her father disappearing from her life for two years, coming back only to go on a mission that changed him. And shortly after, this whole thing with her and this demon being stuck together. In her whole mental argument with Jashin's Beast and reflecting, she wasn't paying attention to neither the blood flow that was nearing her, nor the figure she was about to walk into, until it happened. Which seemed to look like the ANBU operative she has seen a little while ago. "Oh shi-" She didn't even get the chance to fully cuss as she collided into him and she got back up. "I'm so sorry, I wasn't really paying much attention." She offered her hand to the ANBU operative.

Hearing a commotion, Umashi focused on his surroundings and found himself about to walk headlong into the girl from earlier. As he would dub her, "Ramen Chick". Smiling and nodding, he first hesitated when she extended her hand and a greeting but realized that if an assassin was going to be so bold as to approach him like this then he might as well accept that they were just that strong to probably take him out. Opening his mouth to speak, he was interrupted by the faint pinging of his headset in his ear. So accustomed to wearing it all the time while on duty, he'd forgotten to take it off while off duty. Shaking his head, he sighed and put a finger up to his ear to engage whoever was on the other side. Apparently a small emergency beckoned every ANBU operative in the area who could spare the time and so, instead of meeting an old friends daughter, Umashi was forced to take his leave as business called him elsewhere.

Alas, Yuna did not have her head set on her at the moment to summon her. She only can figure that the older ANBU operative had heard something on his head set that called for him. She shrugged her shoulders. With a sigh, she knew that she has only a couple of hours to pack whatever she needed and to sleep. She is really going to hate herself in the morning if she doesn't get enough sleep.

And with that said, she made her way back home.
