Exposed to the sweltering sun, Hoheto stood scorching in the heat. The uchiha was slightly irritated at the merchant--already fifteen minutes late. Leave it to the wealthy to be this late; always so full of themselves, believing the world revolved around them. Frustrated with each passing second, Hoheto gave out a sigh, tapping repeatedly, his foot on the ground as he shifted his gaze to his sides and back, before stepping into the shade provided by the towering leaf gate.
The lady at the mission stand had told him he was to meet the merchant here; some affluent man named Hayaidesu Soso. Hmph, his features contorted with a frown, given the irony to a name he thought was riduculous. Another five minutes and he was ready to leave when suddenly a kid approched him. The young boy, he was slightly older than and following beside him was another; a tall lady on glasses carrying a sunshade over the boy while herself was exposed to the heat.
"You must be my escort" The boy asked with his arm up in a wave. "Yes Mr Hayaidesu sir." Hoheto followed up stuttering with a widened eye. Uncertainty clouded his features but he opted for a smile following the village's policy to satisfy its clients. Thinking about it, he believed the boy too little to be an enterpreneur. From the uchiha's experience, kids the boy's age are usually stuck learning the basics of ninjutsu in the academy. Was he relative to someone this wealthy? Hoheto asked himself with a fake smile running across his face. The more he thought about it, the weirder the mission became.
"Apologies young sir but I was expecting to see someone older" The uchiha grinned, scratching the top of his head.
"U mean my dad" the boy exclaimed. "He's away on a business trip. I've always wanted to visit the leaf so here I am." The little boy smirked with a feeling of fufillment.
"Well, now that you're here, where would you like to go?" Hoheto followed up, lending his gaze to the assisstant whose silence he could not make meaning in.
"I've always wanted to treat myself to a bowl of the leaf's famed ramen. So, take me there." Soso reacted excitedly, leaning forwards. Looking at the boy's eagerness, Hoheto was reminded of himself. Unlike Soso, he didn't grow up in a wealthy home but he had the same passion to experience life a bit different than the rules set out for him.
"Alright" Hoheto grinned. With Soso sandwiched on either side of the two, they ventured into the leaf. Luckily for Hoheto the son of the businessman he was escorting at first glance seemed rude but he was quiet and meek. He was respectful to the uchiha and didn’t engage him with unneccessary questions. And that was perfectly fine for the boy, as they went to eat. They met with Ichiraku as the trio sat down to eat. Ordering loads, Soso's meal was comped and he felt no shame in being greedy, he ordered meals fit for kings as he tried to satisfy his insatiable appetite and that those with him.
As they finally finished their meal, they got into telling of jokes and laughter. This was the uchiha's best mission yet but then he realized eating such a large meal when he was already exhausted wasn’t wise. It took everything he had to not fall asleep. He could feel his consciousness slipping, however before he disgraced himself he reassured himself to persist a bit longer, knowing it was time for their get together to come to an end.
Hoheto nodded at every comment Soso made as they continued back to the village exit. What a day he had had but it was time to bid them farewell.
