Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The below letter was delivered, via turkey courier, to the village gates of the Village Hidden in the Stone (plural?). The contents read:
Yogi's letter said:
"To Gen Ryu,

I am Lord Melkor, strongest of the kami.

I have chosen you to embark on a quest. The fate of the continent rests in your hands. If you choose to take up this quest mail me at your earliest convenience.

If you cannot take part of the quest simply re-direct this letter to any hobbits, or otherwise short individuals, you might know."

After arriving at the entranceway the turkey was unsure what to do. It had received no instructions on how the intended recipient looked like. Nor had it even been told what to do if its searched proved fruitless. The turkey swore to itself that this was the last time it would accept such vague instructions. The next time it would insist on getting back up plans or refuse to do the delivery job together. That was what the turkey thought to itself, but it knew it had little choice over the matter. The turkey had a family of three, a wife and a newborn, to feed and it could not endanger their welfare for his pride. Still, it helped the turkey's mental health to let off some steam every once in a while by thinking freely.

It was a world where certain animals could do pretty much anything humans were capable of, and yet it never ceased to surprise Yoshihisa to actually meet one of them in person, be it in the form of ravenous tigers or in this case perhaps even more peculiar, a messenger turkey. As he picked up his pace to meet the lettered avian, his mind raced to reconsider, if he was actually in the right position to accept such a burden to begin with, as he wasn't yet aware to which person the letter belonged. He would surely find out soon enough, as he was already without speaking distance before he had managed to decide, so since he wanted to refrain from being rude and turn back now, the student bowed his head instead and met the bird with a smile.

"Greetings, and welcome to Iwagakure. Would there be anything I could possibly assist you with now I'm here?"

Now all he could do was hope he didn't just make a fool out of himself in case the turkey didn't turn out to be sapient..

The courier turkey approached the newcomer and turned to its side, as if saying 'here take the letter attached to me'.

The turkey did not actually speak of course. It was not that the bird was incapable of producing sound. Nor was it because the turkey lacked intellect. The turkey was, through patrilineal descent, related to the great Watson.

Watson, as you have surely been taught in any basic history of the Continent, was the King of the Birds and had been responsible for both earning the freedom of the turks and establishing a country for his brethren, Turkey, where they could live in peace. The country flourished and was among the richest civilizations ever known. Unfortunately the successors to the Turkish crown were never equals to Watson and in a few generations the country fell into poverty. Many a turkey, including this particular one's parents, migrated back to the lands they had escaped from in the hope of finding employment.

At any rate I digress. The little turkey was not lacking in intellect and suffered no physical inability. That it (and it was a she) did not speak was largely due to shyness.

"Chirp chirp", the turkey said, "Chirp chirp."

This was the most the little turkey dared to say.

It was only gradually that the realization dawned on the boy that he indeed might have made a rather foolish judgement call in this scenario, even if the bird would be speaking to him now not being even remotely aware who this so-called 'Watson' might be and what his place in history was in the first place, so for all that he knew Yoshihisa had just started an awkward one sided conversation with an ordinary turkey and had lucked out to find that it appeared to know what he meant by it. However, his moment to ponder his embarrassment was brief, for no matter how short the letter had proven to be, the opening alone meant there were going to be a lot of complications when handling the response to this letter.

"Not quite sure how to bring this to you, as far as talking to you might be mutually beneficial to the both of us, but the person this letter is addressed to has since passed away and seeing how dire the request from Lord Melkor is I could only imagine what this will me-.."

Bereft of breath and for even someone challenged to set aside human frailties when progressing on the road to be a Shinobi, Yoshihisa couldn't help but be taken aback by the grim sight darkening the horizon and the deafening bellow which followed: A creature of titanic proportions, undeniably fearsome in both size and strength was making no secret out of the fact it was present and striding towards the village of Iwagakure with intentions nobody was certain of, but everybody feared one and the same. It took the youngster a while before realizing what should be done, without further ado digging back hands in the satchels hanging from his waist only to pull them back moments later, the revealed maws occupying the palms vigorously chewing away at a grey substance. Whatever the matter had been for the Kami lord to sent a message had officially been overruled, but the least he could do as a Toujigikou was get the messenger out to safety in style while including the response.

"Sorry for the rush but it looks like you might not want to stay here for much longer if you don't have to be, and even then I highly doubt we can guarantee you safety that a proper flight could not."

With those words, the maws slung out a pair of figurines which upon the forming of Yoshihisa's seals took sizes multiple times their original with one of them appearing to be a clone of the boy while the other was a rather crude image to a Woodpecker, rustling its feathers to signal it was ready to take off at any moment. It took on a position as if it were to roost in order to help the turkey get on while the clone and original exchanged something before the former would join the two of them, by all means unfazed by the prospect of the humongous creature they were trying to escape from.

"These should be lasting long enough to get you across the Earth Country's border, the clone holding the message to your employer as well as your payment, in the very worst of circumstances possibly the key to survival as well."

And with those words he took his leave, leaving complete control of the two sculptures to the messenger and hoping deep down inside that there would end up to be at least one less casualty.
