Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Manzo smelled the ramen long before they walked into the shop. This had become his favorite place to eat and since he was going to have a meal with his new found friend what better place to go. He had avoided having much in the way of deep conversations on the way there. This wasn’t so much because he did not want to but because he did not understand the sign language that Izumi knew. It was something he was going to have to rectify, perhaps even have others in his team learn. He could see the advantages to being able to communicate while on missions without having to say a word.

”Take your time figuring out what you want, it is my treat.“With that he went to the counter to order his beef ramen.

Taking a seat he waited for Izumi to finish ordering and join him. Once they were settled he would prompt for the question that had prompted the lunch. ”So tell me why aren't you having fun in the academy? “ He hoped that he could figure out what the problem was and make it a better experience for the young student. Being miserable at the academy would not make for a strong shinobi latter on. Of course if the young student just did not want to be a shinobi there was not much he would be able to do but he was hoping that there was still something he could do to help the young shinobi be a better shinobi

On the way towards here, Izumi had tried to share a bit of his bread. It wasn't much but it had him for the whole day. It had to be as there wasn't much left at home for now.
Sometimes he did a silly skip in his walk and made tiny jumps. He was a little energic now he knew he had a friend and made often the death sign language with his hands. Once they got there he was a little surprised that he had a pick... Placing his index finger and thumb around his chin he started to look... There were so many kinds and his stomach made soon a rumble on the thought of the heavily smells.
Once he had written the order on the paper and given, he would take a seat next to Manzo and after he undid his jacket re-adjust his sleeves up to his hands again.

Looking towards the older male he would slowly nod and take his tiny notebook again and began to write. 'There is always something happening between me and my classmates, often results in that I am taken apart by them behind the school. Nothing major to worry about. Although the last part was written a little in the more hesitant matter. It was after that he swallowed a time and started to write down again, he wanted to have something on multiple parts. 'What was your school time if I may ask? He then would sit down on his hands just to make sure the other knew he would first listen instead of just keep writing and more.

Manzo sat down and waited patiently for Izumi to sit. The boy kept trying to be nice on their way over offering some bread but he could tell from the look on the boy’s face he was doing it to be polite and nice but looked a little worried about giving it away. He had simply told the boy to wait on the bread, not waiting to spoil his appetite for the ramen.

As they waited for their food Izumi told him about being bullied behind the academy. That would be something to deal with latter. Perhaps he could spend some time tutoring the boy. The quickest way to deal with bullies was simply put them in their place, or so Manzo believed.

”My time in the academy. I would think it is much like your time there “ As he started to speak their ramen arrived. Taking a moment to have a bite he continued to speak. ”My classes were taught by crazy shinobi that took time to teach, I remember being thrown off the top of the academy and told to walk on the wall, I spent most of my free time studying, I had a strong motivation to succeed since my parents struggled so hard and gave up so much for me to get into the academy. “ Manzo paused taking a few more bites.

”I had a few friends, though I have not kept up with them due to other circumstances, but for the most part I was more interested in graduating and less interested in friends. I was one of the few Taijutsu specialists during my class so most of my classmates were not much fun to spar. “

Manzo ate some more of his ramen and waited to see if Izumi had anything else to say.

If he didn’t then Manzo would shift the topic. ”So you are getting picked on a bit which is making the academy not as much fun as it should be. So the question becomes what can I do to help you so you don’t get picked on. “

Izumi had done his story about the bullying and was a bit silent after, it was that Manzo was breaking the silence that he was turning his head towards him. He would slowly start to nod sometimes that he was listening to him and was honestly surprised that the male was also bullied. Yet there was one big difference between the two of them, Manzo had friends back then and so far he didn't really have them.

Izumi was eating his own ramen and slowly started to think a bit what he would write down next. He felt sorry that the other had been through what he had been going through right now. He hoped no one else was getting it as he was already one to receive the bad end. As an interest in the silence, he would roll up his one sleeve a bit revealing the bruises and almost healed cuts and scraped. Which was already just one arm. Once he had done that he would start writing after Manzo had talked again.

'I do not know what can be done. They aren't stopping easily and I do not want them to convert their attention to someone else innocent. he wrote down and took a bite before it would grow cold. 'I soon have an ANBU intake exam, if I make that I am free from the academy and maybe they will stop with it on their own. After that, he would place the notebook more towards the other and have a soft empty smile on his face and took a bite again. A thing popped into his head and picked the notebook up again. 'I have a friend now, which is awesome.

Manzo was enjoying himself. It had been a while since he had a chance to just sit down and relax and have a good meal with someone interesting. He did have some reservations partially hearing that he was going to be attempting to enter the ANBU, not that he would ever let those reservations show. The ANBU were not for the faint of heart, you need to be ready to deal with just about any situation.
Manzo knew that he couldn’t just go to the academy and have a “talk” with these bullies that would just make the matter worse. He also know that just leaving the academy would not end the situation. The question now was how to approach the situation. He knew how he needed to help the boy, granted he really needed to learn some sign language before they met again, he just hoped that he was up for it.
”So you want to be one the elite of the village, that is great news the village can always use more strong shinobi that defend the village“ Briefly he wondered which team Izumi would get assigned to. ”But just because you are leaving the academy doesn't mean your troubles will end. The only way you can stop the bullies is to ensure that you are not bullied. So let me help you with that. Lets see if I can train you a bit.“
Looking at the arm that was exposed Manzo wondered if the young boy was self conscious about it. Deciding to roll up his own sleeves he revealed his left arm covered in burn scars. ”After all that is what friends do, they help each other. So tell me what is your strongest abilities, what is your fighting style like?“ Manzo was truly enough of a jack of all trades that he felt he could help in any situation Izumi needed help with.

He had done his story, but he stayed rather calm for the first time. He was glad about that last matter. He would sometimes nod in the conversation or shake his head when hew as in a disagree with the other. When he had shown his own arm he got to see Manzo his arm and it made Izumi look a little in awe towards him. He didn't saw this one coming and with his hands, he quickly signed if he was alright... But made a facepalm moment as he thought to himself, of course, he cannot read. He took his notebook and started to write down. 'Sorry that, that has happened to you, hope you are doing alright regarding what has happened. He shoves it slowly to him as if he was rather unsure if it was in his place to even write that down.
After that, he would listen further to Manzo and it did enlighten the boy a little.
”After all that is what friends do, they help each other. So tell me what is your strongest abilities, what is your fighting style like?“
Izumi's smile couldn't be thrown off his face for a while. His body made a movement as if he was snickering with joy and smiled big towards Manzo. He would take his notebook and start writing down everything he knew so far.
'I am a Hawkeye, I am good at shooting longer ranges, more crap at short range. Defending is also a mid one I would say. I use projectile jutsu and wind jutsu in combination. What I want to learn is how to scout and how to provide information for the leaf. He wrote down and after that wrote his weapon down with all the things on it. abilities were; Bleeding (Bloody Mess), Strategist, Duellist, Initiative, Healing factor, Wind – Chakra Style, Defensive Technique and his augments on the weapon were; Anchor Boost and Blood Rack. Once he had written all this information down he was wondering about his friend here. 'You?

Interesting a range taijutsu user. Of all the fighting styles he had tried over the years that was one he had never touched. But that did not matter. The tenants of ranged fighting were similar to Ninjutsu, don’t get hit.

”Me? My fighting style has changed quite a bit over the years. I was a sword user, a unarmed fighter, a ninjutsu user. Now I am a summoner. I call friends to help me and change the environment to suit my needs. “

”And don’t worry about the arm. Much like my weight they were simply costs I gladly paid to keep living. Some shinobi can go through their life and never develop scars like mine, medical ninjutsu helps a lot with that. But other are not so lucky.“ Manzo took a break speaking to eat some food and let Izumi “speak” if he wanted to.

”So what made you want to be in the ANBU?“

Izumi had taken his time to explain everything what he did and what he was handling as a weapon. He was telling it really proudly and grinned brightly. He could be signing many much more and writing was a time-limited thing to react back with.
Manzo reacted with what he had done and it made Izumi's mouth make a little drop. That was soo much! And he was honestly curious what kind of friends he had. He began to move at his seat until he switched back towards the topic about the arm, he took another glance and then back to Manzo. When Manzo turned silent for a moment Izumi took his chance to write again and would write a little more than before.
'It is really awesome that you know this much about different kinds of fighting. Makes me wonder why you changed that much, must have been hard to learn so many things at so many changes. He took a moment to stop writing to shake his wrist, it was quite a bit what he was making right now and stuck out his tongue in a playful matter. On top of that Izumi was snickering towards himself and smiled while writing further. 'Everyone's scares are different, it is just a matter how you deal with them personally. But as you say you have scars no one else can get... Makes me a little worried...' He wrote all this with honesty in his mind.

When he let Manzo read he took his turn to eat again, with his food has cooled off quite a bit he was easily eating it away as for now.
The question about becoming an ANBU made him smile softly. He only had to turn a few pages back in his notebook before showing Manzo. 'I am 14 years old and live with my father in a small house. I am born in the sands and grew up here in the leaf as long as I remember. I do not have a mother. The reason I want to learn more about the ANBU is I want to become one. I want to help them out as they have done for centuries and centuries to come. I want to make a part out of the interrogation and scouting ANBU. That is my aim. ' Below there would be written, this is what I wrote in ANBU class, and I still didn't change my way of thinking.

The boy was a curious one thought it was a valid question. ”I had to keep changing my fighting styles because the circumstances with my body forced me to adapt to a better way of fighting. It is important to be flexible and not rigid in your thinking. For instance I had unlocked power within my chakra network that boosted my unarmed fighting. But as great as this was it did not meld well with my sword style of fighting. So I adapted to more of an unarmed style.“
Eating some more of his rammen he tried to alleviate Izumi’s fears ”You can’t be afraid of something that might happen. Fear is the mind killer, it is the little death that brings total oblivion. You need to live in the moment and if something happens that causes scars than you deal with those as they come. We have amazing medics here and they can do lots of things“ Taking another bite. ”Though they don't’ seem to be able to get me on a diet that actually works.“ He said with a laugh.
As he read the last bit of the paper. Interrogation and scouting. It was an interesting choice. Manzo decided that he was going to play ignorant. Ever since the time when ANBU were forced to take off their masks then the policy reveres Manzo had been a bit shy about admitting to knowing anything about the ANBU with his mask off.
”That is an interesting goal. Not that I can speak to much of that but if you are looking to help out as shinobi have for previous centuries haven't the main brach and medics done the same?“ He wasn’t trying to push Izumi from his dreams of ANBU but instead wanted him to be sure.

”You can’t be afraid of something that might happen. Fear is the mind killer, it is a little death that brings total oblivion." This part of the others words got him on a thinking... He slowly would lean on a hand and think a little about it. But what came after had left him chuckling about the comments. Izumi left a little sound, almost as if he had been sneezing but he was laughing which you could easily read from his body language. After that, he smiled bright towards the other and wrote down that he would love to help him!
He ate his bowl further till it was empty before replying towards the other, not wanting to get a good meal cold. It was delicious and Izumi did enjoy every bite he got. The flavors and aroma were honestly astounding and when Izumi was done he actually looked a little more round on his stomach, he had eaten himself fully.

It was after when he was done he started to write again and carefully would go over each word in the hope that they wouldn't be taken wrong or anything. 'That might be true, but the ANBU are the ones who get to go first normally and they do get often to more dangerous zones. They get to send out to whole other places and do behind the scenes a lot more then everyone else is saying. The main branch and the Medical might be doing this, but it ain't the exactly what the ANBU is allowed to or asked to do.
I have already made up my mind and nothing would stand me in the way... I won't let secrets get taken from me as I won't die in the outer fields... or talk for that matter apart.
' He tried to throw a joke in from his side and made a huge smile. He just hoped he got everything on paper as how he was seeing it.

Izumi was not to be swayed, that was good. Determination was important though if Manzo really wanted to dissuade the boy it was not something he would do over lunch. That was something done in mask and over many terrifying hours. Not that he wanted to do something like that.

As he finished his rammen he thought about what he could do for helping Izumi with his bully problem. ”It is good to see you won’t be turned away from the ANBU. I am sure they will always need determined people in their ranks. But as I said before what you experienced in the academy is not likely to end just because you join their ranks. I am sure the ANBU, just like every group has their own bullies. So the question becomes what can we do about it. If you want, give me some time to lean your sign language and then we can meet up and have a session working on the skills for just that. “

Pulling out his wallet he paid for both of their meals. He said he would before but even if he didn’t he felt like Izumi could use someone taking him out to lunch.

”Thanks for sharing lunch with me but I unfortunately I have to go.“
