Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Today was perhaps a day a bit more calm, and ordinary compared to Suika's recent and past adventures, experiences and anything in-between. With the sun rising earlier and earlier in the morning, and the frost slowly de-icing to wash away into the morning slush; Spring was slowly approaching to the lands of Kaminari no Kuni. This was attributed with a final chorus of asynchronous and pleasant sounds that bustled outside her bedroom window, it did not take much effort to identify the songs of birds, the clamor of waking citizens that strode across the streets all with intent and purpose.

Beyond her usual morning routine that the young Genin played out. She was eventually summoned to her door by the banging of one's hand against the material, upon answering; she would be greeted by a middle-aged man, with a small patchy stubble that passed a bit as a rugged appearance to his sharp and muscular features. However, the headband that strapped to his forehead said more than enough to the young Kunoichi. He was a shinobi of Kumogakure no Sato, and pinched between the index and thumb fingers he held a letter with the stamp of the Mission Department. "Greetings Suika; I am Tager. To spare the pleasantries, the Mission Board has assigned you to a D-Rank Mission." Only a second after he spoke, he had lifted the letter and offered it to her. "The Mission should be of relative simplicity. The owner of a nearby pet-shop has been noticing an increasing vandalism and mischievousness they suspect from local teenagers. They've requested a Shinobi's intervention to help resolve the issue at hand, given that it's only petty-crimes we suspect a Genin with a record like yours is sufficient to the task. We wish to make it clear, these folks are in a tight spot financially; so if anything goes South. Try to avoid as much collateral as you can." He had paused, looking out to either side, Suika would be trained well enough to notice it was more habitual rather than any given reason to have to act under suspicion. "Either way, the mission-letter has the location of the mission. We'll allow you to discern your course of action and how you wish to try to rectify the situation; my advice may be to be there during the mid-day, perhaps act as a deterrent. Unless you wish to act covertly and intentionally draw out whoever it is that's causing the damages." After he finished, he gave her a moment to say whatever she needed to; or ask. All before he walked off, one would assume to whichever was his day's designated post.

Upon arriving at the shop. Young Suika would immediately notice the illuminated glow of the OPEN Sign and the occasional flicker that it gave off. The street the shop was found on, for a lack of a better term was dreary and surprisingly devoid of people for the sheer size of the village, and how bustling it typically was. Otherwise, everything appeared and seemed as per normal; and nothing about her senses of the supernatural was alerting at all.
Through the window, she could see a number of animals in their displays; cats, dogs, small critters and the occasional flutter of a bird in a cage. Meandering about like there wasn't a care in the world. None of them looked short on food, care or otherwise- In-fact it had a rather pleasant air to the whole building, despite it's rugged exterior visuals. Upon entering, she would be greeted by a youngster; the boy was no older than thirteen and appeared to be a part-timer if one had to wager. "Welcome! Feel free to look around, if you have any questions please as-" The boy had paused, looking towards Suika's headband, "Oh!? Are you the shinobi the owner requested? Just give me a moment." With an eager stride, the boy ran into the back. You could hear the murmur of discussion take place; in the elapsed time of their talk, Suika was granted some opportunity to look around.
Today, she realized she was rather perceptive. The store-front itself was fairly standardized, orderly rows of goods, with the animals in safe areas for both viewing and keeping all within' the visual line of the store's sales-counter. The floors were well taken care of, despite seeing some small indents that resembled animal claws- nothing out of the ordinary really took her attention with that, or any of the placements. Once she turned to the counter-top after taking some time to get a lay of the land, she witnessed a man in his late-sixties, the part-timer didn't appear to follow. With bore deep facial features and a gentle expression. "Greetings, I am Ryuu. Owner of this establishment, I wish to thank you for your time." Giving the young girl a bow of appreciation. "Unfortunately I cannot give any more information that I already have. The incidents typically take place during the night and while we're closed. Most of the issues happen in the back, cages get damaged; broken and we've found broken chunks in our walls and flooring. Cleaning chemicals and food are often found everywhere and it becomes a bit of a chore every morning to have to clean up. And the repair bills are becoming exuberant. Otherwise, please. Feel free to look around and get a lay of the store until night. If you have any questions I'd be glad to answer them to the best of my ability." And there he stood, observing. But available given any necessity.

What do you wish to do?

Winter was finally coming to a bitter end.

This past season was one of trauma, grief, and, contrary to this, sheer dumb luck. Within the winter months, Suika embarked on a quest with her familiar, Blackberry, to save her comrade, Ikko, from the grasps of malevolent, icy demons. Fortunately, she was able to complete her mission and save her friend, but it came at a costly price. During their rescue attempt, Blackberry the cat selflessly and courageously sacrificed himself to save his master and her comrade. It was a valiant offering, but it was also one that led the girl into a spiral of both sorrow and loneliness. Since then, she had been able to somewhat get her mind off the tragedy with the help of friends and the streams of missions which were assigned to her, but the feeling of loss remained in her spirit. She couldn’t shake it, no. Blackberry was her best friend.

Spring, however, typically offered a symbolic feeling of rebirth and new beginnings. With it sprang hope, and perhaps that is what the young kunoichi needed at this very time? Alas, life kept firm its consistencies as shinobi knew no true rest. Every day there was another mission to be done. Today would prove to be no different. As Suika prepared herself for the day ahead, she was alerted by loud knocks on her door. Approaching her house’s entryway at a casual pace, she was greeted by an enthusiastic and down-to-business messenger from the mission board. She yearned to sigh at that moment, but withheld her expression until the man finished his instruction and left her premises. Potential trouble at a local animal shelter? She instantly recognized the irony in this occurrence. The girl had been at the end of her mourning period for her pet cat, and now she was assigned to keep watch over other potentially domesticated animals. Life was hilarious. Tying her Kumogakure headband around her neck, the kunoichi was off to the shelter. It was time to knock another mission out.

Suika neared a lone shop with a flickering ‘OPEN’ sign. Nothing appeared strange about it, but she did find odd how quiet this specific area was. As it was located within the hustle and bustle of the city, there wasn’t much signs of life. Was springtime not a season people felt like adopting abandoned creatures? Perhaps their altruism was limited to the glamor and capitalism of the winter’s season? Nonetheless, that observation had no true bearing. The girl simply entered the building and greeted the boy at the counter. The kid was around her age and seemed pleasant enough. As he retrieved his boss, Suika instinctively took a quick scope of the area. She noted all entry points, exits, and, basically, every nook and cranny within the structure. It was best to be aware of all parts of your surroundings during a mission, no matter how trivial. In due time, an older man with a worn, kind face approached the girl and further explained the late-night incidents within the shelter. With a simple head bow back, Suika shot the man an assured look. “That does seem very problematic, Ryuu-san, but you can count on me to help find and stop the source of these disruptive occurrences.” Now, where to start? “I’m Suika, by the way. I’ll gladly take your offer and scope the place out. I’ll also keep a subtle, stealthy watch, too, as much as I have to throughout the night tonight, if you don’t mind it.”

With his approval, the Genin sought to acclimate herself further with the shelter. Aside from the building’s structure and the objects within it, she even took note of the kind and number of animals in it, the various scents and odors that she caught with her nose, and any possible damages that had been there from previous incidents. Actually, she’d examine the latter quite thoroughly to see if she could identify its source as if caused by humans or not. Her suspicions weren’t swayed from anything beyond that from the information she received, but it never hurt to rule out any possibilities. After all, she had encountered all sorts of strange phenomena since becoming a Genin. Nothing really surprised her anymore.

After her inspection, she’d keep watch until and through nightfall for any occurrences (if allowed by Ryuu). She clung to the shadows and utilized her affinity with Shadow ninjutsu, and the ninja arts in general, to assist her in this task. Forming some handseals, she also formed a Crystal Eye Jutsu and hid it strategically in the corner of the room. It was now time to play the waiting game. She prepared herself to possibly apprehend any teen or criminal. She wished to be silent and efficient in her approach, but was open to any less-than-desirable scenario. What would happen this calm, Spring night?

“That does seem very problematic, Ryuu-san, but you can count on me to help find and stop the source of these disruptive occurrences.” This was returned with a pleasant smile, the elderly man appeared comforted by the confidence that the young Kunoichi exhumed.
“I’m Suika, by the way. I’ll gladly take your offer and scope the place out. I’ll also keep a subtle, stealthy watch, too, as much as I have to throughout the night tonight, if you don’t mind it.”

"Not at all, not at all." With an open gesture he encapsulated the store as a whole for her to explore. "Without a burden, we wish to come to an end with the constant issues at hand."
=
And thus, Suika found herself with the self-supervised task of scoping the mission locale; followed by the planning and preparation for her execution of the mission at hand. Without any delay, the young Kunoichi was in spirits and initiated her initial patrol. First on the agenda, she took kind to account for the species, number of creatures and critters for the facility.
Front
  • Three Cats
  • One Bulldog
  • Two Birds
  • A dozen hamsters and other small rodents
  • Two turtles
  • A plethora of fish in aquariums
  • Two Snakes, One Python, One Boa
  • Half a dozen reptiles
Back
  • Two Dogs
  • One Cat
  • One Red Panda

Upon closer inspection on the damages found around the store, she could discern that the small indented claw marks were pretty traditional in this type of flooring. If animals get spooked, excited or otherwise they might leave indents and what have you around the flooring; similar to scuff marks from shoes. The front-end otherwise appeared quite presentable with nothing terribly notable.

When she got to the back, the damages became a bit more present; without the necessity of having to repair everything, it was clear Ryuu was bit more lenient on his expenditure on things that were more cosmetic than functionality of the facility. As she first walked into the back, along the left side were a row of fenced cages- fairly typical in a animal store, each with animals inside all looking relatively dormant in personality. None of which were exuberantly hyper as one might expect; although none seemed terribly perturbed either, given the detail on the surroundings. With some of the cages where were missing chain-locks, gouges in some of the metal that were filed down to avoid injury to the animals within. The concrete on the floor was cracked in places, and some shelving both metal and wood had some missing; or still existing broken parts. Finally one of the back windows, of an assortment of six; was broken and covered with a tin-sheet to avoid people from getting in, or things out. Beyond this everything was in it's place and kept tidy like a store should be.

Continuing with her day, up until night. Ryuu giving the young Kunoichi a wave as he left towards the exit, "Good luck! I'll be locking up on my way out." without further adieu, he departed. Leaving Suika to position a crystal eye to peruse the aisles of the store-front and every so often to check the back to avoid any surprises; finding herself in an advantageous position near the store-counter, given the layout she ascertained this would be the ideal place to rest in the shadows and observe.

After a few hours had passed, the night took a firm hold of the world; vision becoming obscured and everything took an eerie shadowed hue. With the store, there were some dim-lights left on for the animals that were a faint green; but otherwise the store fell into the same lulling darkness. With the faint rustle and noises that the animals made, most however; were all fast asleep in the stillness of the night.
=
For a number of hours into the night, nothing was out of the ordinary. Suika found herself aware of the random passerby in the outside along the street; however none ever paid any heed to the inside of the pet-store, and none of which looked anything more than simple citizens trying to get home.
Just as her eyes started to grow heavy, her lids sliding down to cover her vision in a mask of her own sleepless night; a rustle abnormally loud skittered in the back. Drawing her attention; the crystal eye on auto-pilot started to make its patrol to the back. Viewing through it's span, she came to see the green glow from the other side through the eye- Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Or was it?

In the shadows, just beyond the illumination of the green-light; she could see a large figure stalking around. Looking, sniffing and searching for something up until it noticed the floating eye. In a hissing snarl, it was quick to react and lunged towards it. In only a split second the eye was crashed into and destroyed.

Sadly, she was unsure what exactly it was-- But judging just by the generalized space it inhabited in the shadows; it was large. And exceedingly muscular-- How did it get back there without her noticing? And what was it?

What was left to do, was figure out her next course of action...

The hours guarding the premises and withholding a strong watch over it felt both long and tedious. Time had a special knack to tick slowly, the girl theorized, when she partook on a seemingly quiet mission such as this. The shelter was full of the cries and panting of the animal-life inside throughout the day. Soon, as night took over, all fell into a deep slumber. Well, all for except Suika. “See you later, Ryuu-san. I’ll keep you updated on any activity that occurs.” she waved back at the old shop owner. Her tone carried certainty as her painted expression exuded assuredness. The kunoichi would do her best to fulfill the expectations of this mission. Now, time to get back on task. While bored during her duty as a watchman, she still attempted to keep to her wits and senses as she awaited any abnormal or disruptive activity. After all, she was here with a purpose. Someone, or something, was stirring trouble at this modest little shop. It was her job to identify the culprit and bring their injustices to an immediate stop.

As her Crystal Eye roamed the kennels, all appeared well. Every creature was accounted for and each rested safely. It wasn’t too long until she felt a disturbance. Before she could hope to react, an entity lunged out and destroyed her jutsu. Her extra sight-advantage was now gone. “Damn it.” she hissed in her mind. Based off her observations, whatever assaulted her extended eye seemed animalistic by nature. While large, she noticed it sniff and snarl. What teenager, other than a mischievous Inuzuka, would do that?

Immediately, the kunoichi began to configure a quick plan. She had to be speedy in her approach – she did not want to risk whoever or whatever attacked her jutsu to damage anything or escape. Forming a few seals, Suika summoned two Spectre Shades. Manipulating her chakra, she sent her clones around the building to cover the opposite exit. Now, manifesting her own ethereal blade, she readied herself to confront the creature. “Teenager, crook, beast, or youkai – they’re as good as mine.” she confidently thought.

To be cautious, she prepared an illusion to be channeled through her blade. It was a bind, Petrification, that would bring whatever it was in the room to an sudden halt if hit. Jolting inside the room, she was prepared to counter and capture whatever it was that terrorized this compound. While doing so, Suika paid careful mind to the domesticated animals around her. It was imperative that the critters in this facility were not harmed during the confrontation with the shadowy entity. After all, her goal was not only to stop the evil-doer, but to also ensure that the facility received no further damage. With a determined blaze in her magenta eyes, she was ready. “Reveal yourself.” she taunted in her head. She would have called out verbally to the person or beast, but she learned her lesson from the last overnight guard duty she had at the church. There was no need to increase her susceptibility or risk with an audial warning. Alas, the girl closed the door behind her and entered a battle-ready stance. It was game time.

While she prepared herself, Suika could hear the gruff sounds and snarls that dwelled within' the darkness beyond the door; with the occasional whimper of hapless creatures that lived in the kennels. With the shuffling noises of it's paws against the concrete, she couldn't completely discern where it's location was- but she was prepared in instinct and in engagement.

Drawing herself into the darkness in the back, the dim illumination of the night-lights gave some fragments of vision; awhile larger heavier blotches of darkness constrasted anywhere it didn't reach. Having drawn the door carefully closed behind her. While her presence seemed to unsettle the air, the tension was rife with malevolence and the creature within' was stuck Suika's now determined and battle-ready form; or was she stuck here with it?
There wasn't much time before the first moments of engagement stirred into conflict. A huffed snarl alerted Suika of the beastial presence of her foe; it had positioned itself about ten feet away from her; the large hulking form was about the same height as her, and a few inches wider. Standing on all fours- it wasted no time to leap towards her, with teeth barred. Even in the darkness, Suika was quick to react; having conjured the clever genjutsu of petrification through her ethereal blade, sent the beast into a state of confused disarray. Crumbling down mid-leap about two feet before her; she could instinctively tell that the grasp of the genjutsu had wreathed its mind into submission--

Although only for a moment, before she could make any further reactions the beast stirred with a tumultuous roar, ripping its large claws into the concrete and lashing outwards towards Suika. She found herself if only just prepared in time to avoid any significant damages. However, it was clear the beast was fast; as she felt the scratch of the claw just barely caressing across her clothes. With her newfound position- And it's, she noticed that it looked almost half-dead; similar to that of a familiar Kinjutsu of the Sinister Sage variety. It certainly wasn't alive, and it looked a bit of an amalgamation of canine and bear.

She was in a tight spot, and near the door- how would she proceed?

The events in the small adoption center were quickly and intensely unfolding. As Suika’s Crystal Eye Jutsu was disrupted by some type of animalistic enemy, she had prepared a few clones to block the other side of the building as she investigated directly. With her ethereal weapon in hand and a prepared Genjutsu, she was instantly confronted by the snarling beast. It lunged out at her. Fortunately, her channeled illusion hit, as the monster was momentarily bound. The creature skidded across the floor and near her. Just what was the entity before her? As it all happened so fast and the lighting was dim, she couldn’t identify it at that moment. The monster soon resisted her illusion and began its aggravated assault against the kunoichi. Suika, utilizing a defensive stance, barely managed to evade the claws that were aimed at her. She longed to develop a solid counter-attack, but she had to think on her feet here. This monster’s violent approach left no room for even minor contemplation.

Gripping tight her ghostly blade, Suika attempted to slash the beast in front of her. She was wary of the small space and caged animals around her, so she refrained from using any area of effect type of ninjutsu. Her moves had to be steadied and focused; her goal was also to leave no further damage to the owner’s shop. With her last attack, the girl finally caught a solid glimpse of the beast. It resembled some type of risen beast, as if zombified. Was this the work of an ominous summoner? The creature appeared to be pure reactive, so she doubted it held any true intelligence. Who was the puppet master to this deathly-looking chimera?

Just in case its presence was backed by a chakra source, Suika utilized her illusory affinity by channeling a powerful genjutsu, Reaper’s Gaze, on to the beast. It was both a physical and chakra bind; would it be effective? The goal of her jutsu was to stop the creature’s flurry of attacks and possibly dispel it if chakra-natured. Amid her attack, she was to also to dodge and parry any attack aimed at her. Hopefully, she would manage this and stand unscathed by the entity’s feral offense. Meanwhile, Suika’s clones were able to finally reach the other door. They attempted to barricade the exit with their bodies as the kunoichi dealt with the canine-bear zombie. In the back of her thoughts, the ghostly girl was mindful, too, of the animals around her. It was also imperative that each creature from this center was not harmed during this confrontation. If somehow an attack was aimed at them, Suika would do everything in her power to shield the pet. Not only did she take her job seriously, but she’d be damned if she allowed any cute critter in this place to be hurt.

The kunoichi readied her blade for further slashing attacks. Entering her Blade Whisperer stance, Suika further increased her evasion to physical attacks and prepared herself to immediately counter any attack she dodged. For a second, she hoped her efforts and preparedness for this situation worked out well enough. It was time to finally bring down the chaos that haunted over this cute little animal shelter. After all, it was her sworn duty as both shinobi and animal lover.

[OOC: Suika used a basic slash (rolled a 4) on the canine-bear zombie. She then used Reaper's Gaze (rolled a 10) on the beast. She has entered a defensive stance prior and, on top of that, entered a slashing physical style. She is also prioritizing protecting the animals if necessary.]

The fight raged on with concise and calculative movements from the young Kunoichi, verse the ravaging rage of the large creature. In what felt like forever, the clashing of wills and powers was unfolding in the matter of seconds. As Suika unleashed a rapid, but poorly timed slash; it had surprisingly gouged into the flesh and spirit of the beast. In part from the ghostly nature had left much to be desired in terms of an actual wound revealed in the creature- Suika however, knew better and had the presence enough to know that the weapon did some damage to the right-fore shoulder on the beast.
However, in her efforts to infiltrate the mind of the creature was met with incredible resistance and the alacrity of a cunning hunter. It was a bit befuddling of a scenario, but no matter her intent she couldn't even break through the defenses of the creature's mind-- Perhaps she was simply not focused enough due to the pressure of such a closed space?

No later did she find herself set to the defensive, as the monster raged on. Stepping forwards past the wounding blade and sent its left claw forwards; scraping just by the defensible girl. Her preparations of defense were coming in handy it seemed- But she knew the assault hadn't ended there. It had leaped back about two feet and initiated a full-blown charge; with the nature of how narrow the space was it didn't leave many options for Suika to evade; however she did in-fact find herself free from the potential grapple it was aiming to achieve.

Given her newfound position (That you decide). She would notice that the door between the front-store and the back where she was. Had been ripped right off its hinges and strewn across the floor of the main sales-floor. The beast itself recovering from it's failed attempt, and now wounded shoulder. While it wasn't inhibited by much more than its simple mind, it turned back to face Suika; with an aggressive intent in its eyes. The fight wasn't over.

Well, this battle was getting quite interesting. The young kunoichi swung her ghostly blade at the savage, chimera beast in front of her. Not surprisingly, her blade made contact, and the creature’s shoulder was now slightly injured. Preparing a high-leveled illusion through the spiritual aura of her weapon, it appeared as the beast resisted her terrifying bind. She was shocked, honestly, that the creature was able to resist. Was her technique poor due to the heightened scenario and close proximity? It was possible, she deduced, but she had to act fast. The unrelenting creature charged at her and attempted to grapple. She was able to evade it by leaping into the air and flipping behind it, but it managed to tear down the door behind her as it was lying on the main sale’s floor. Crap, property damage!

“What an unexpected turn in this mission.” Briefly thought the girl as she planned her next chain of actions. While she believed she possessed the power to slaughter it, there was too much to lose around her. The property of the shop and the animals were all at risk. Her goal was to reduce and minimalize damage, yet maximize the capture and potential execution of this creature. What should the young Ghost Walker do? Luckily, the creature seemed mindlessly violent in its approach, so its movements were pretty predictable. Waiting for it to strike her, the girl would melt into the shadows using her displacement technique. She’d then appear near the main room and attempt another bind. This time, it was the first genjutsu she made. Reaper’s Gaze was a strong technique, but she had to conserve her chakra. After all, who knew how long this battle would last and what last minute move she’d have to utilize? Her petrification technique was in effect – would it work?!

If it did, she’d move forward with her own Taijutsu assault. If not, she’d simply wait for the beast to near her (as long as its not attacking anything else) and attempt to counter it with one of her most lethal Taijutsu, Kill Driver. It was a rapid pace, multi-hitting Taijutsu that made great use of momentum in its precision. Like its name, its intent was to eliminate the enemy as quick and efficiently as possible. Despite her efforts, Suika was still lost as to the origin of this enemy and its purpose. Was it just some random dark spirit with malevolent intentions? Or did it have ties with some other corrupt entity? She remained in high alert and kept her senses sharps just in case it was the latter. Nonetheless, it was her duty to bring it down. “Why” was an important question, but with the lives of furry little animals on the line, it was one that wasn’t truly that necessary at the moment.

“Die, beast, and return from netherrealms you have crawled out from!” she cried out as she continued to slash at the beast. Having a vision for spiritual being was a gift, but with it came a responsibility. Suika was prepared to accept that responsibility one-hundred fold.

Concept: There have been a series of reports at a local animal shelter of strange occurrences. All of which allude to pranksters or ruffians messing around with the owners, who have had been under some unfortunate circumstances recently. Perhaps coincidence, but they have requested a Shinobi to supervise the situation and look into the causes of why the oddities are occurring, and potentially resolve the issue.

And thus, the battle continued. Tensions had risen, and the animals in the area were all stirred into and uncomfortable whine and wimper. Most of which weaseled to the deep corners of their cages and containers in hopes to avoid being noticed by the disgusting amalgamation. Nevertheless, it's focus was intent with destructive alacrity on the little girl before it. Although, she had raised an interesting question of why all this seemed to center here.

A question that may be answered later- but nothing came up on her sensory clones or her superior ghost senses either. For now, she knew to focus on the fight; otherwise she was a sitting duck. And in her prepared defenses, was met with a daunting bellow from it's demonish guts. Afore it charged forwards with unyielding force behind it's paws, as it leaped forwards and maw opened wide to crash in and bite down. It no sooner was met with a shadowy blob and nothing more tangible than hopes and dreams. As it skidded forwards, it turned and started sniffing around seeking out the opponent. All during this Suika had begun the preparations to try and stiffen the creature's mind to a halt, and in tune; the body. However, much to her demise. She had come to the inevitable same conclusion, that it's mental defenses were too rigid. Perhaps something was aiding it?
Sadly this failed attempt at breaking it's mind, lead it to noticing the petite fighter and her opened defenses. And thus, the beast engaged with the fervor for blood still coursing through its mind. In seconds it had closed the distance and crashed down atop Suika, forcing her to defend herself in such close proximity to a barrage of unyielding paws and claw strikes. Two of the five had missed her in deft dodging, however she felt two others crash into her with devastating results, and the third only just barely cuffing her rib. Not enough to take her out; but she felt the winds of exhaustion creeping.

Although her plan hadn't executed quite the way she had prepared; or hoped for. She was close enough to the beast, with it quite literally atop her. That she had swiftly and viciously started stabbing and slashing at its' being although it had managed to stave off some of the strikes with its own resistances, other hits had made grievous wounds in its form and spirit. Forcing it to back off ever so slightly; granting Suika precious moments to regain her footing-- Only to be met with two swinging claws, oozing with thick black chakra across their claws. The first she managed to evade with a deft step backwards. However the second met her cleanly-- Too cleanly. It had crashed violently with her jaw; the claw thankfully missing most of the strike- But the paw had an asinine amount of force behind it. Causing her to flip in the air behind the force several times. This granted her the moment to catch herself- she was wounded. But no Kunoichi would be felled but just that much.

The creature was clearly at it's wits end. And she could tell that something was awry, but she couldn't quite place her finger on it. As if something else was watching from afar.

The beast lowered its body in its weakened, yet daunting form. It was then, that Suika felt it. A person, outside in the back of the shop- Probably a hundred and fifty feet away. It bore a sinister chakra- and it seemed to know that you caught wind of it's position.

The next sequence of events occurred all too fast. Seemingly enough, this creature, whatever it was, possessed some type of mental barrier that did not allow her genjutsu to hit. Pity, really, because this made young Suika resort to a pure physical assault. As she made her jabs and slashes, the monster retaliated with its own. While not all its strikes hit the girl, its last one, before she slashed at it, truly packed a punch. With force that felt like a ton of bricks hitting her chin, the kunoichi was blasted backward as she flipped through sheer momentum. It took her back, but a couple of seconds in, she was able to regain her composure, gain back control of her body, and planted her feet firmly against the wall. What strength the creature had!

Man, guarding a pet shop over night was turning out not to be as easy as what was on her mission scroll. Oh well.

While still feeling some pain from the previous impact of the creature’s attack, Suika shook it off and continued her own assault. Using the wall, she pushed herself off and used the speed of it for a basic blade strike. This was more of a feint, if anything. Noticing the beast’s weakened state, she attempted to go in for the kill. She used her Executioner technique and attempted to behead the creature. Would it be a success? Regardless if it was or wasn’t, she soon felt a dark, sinister presence, similar to the creature’s, somewhere off in the distance. Was this the puppet master that she suspected? If the creature remained active, she’d lure it toward her and soon refocus her attention on the source of the malevolent energy. She’d utilize her spiritual senses and attempt to track the being. If she so happened to discover who the nefarious presence derived from, she’d do her best take them out if they seemed a foe.

If none was there, or if she still faced the beast, she’d do her best to handle that situation and ensure the safety of the shop. Suika would return there and attempt to clean up any damage (if all signs of danger are gone).

Amidst the slew of combat, Suika had begun to nick away at the condition of the monstrosity. Upon decisively launching from the wall towards the beast it made an effort to evade the incoming strike- to which it did rather effortlessly. In her diligence Suika had actioned a feint through the attack and thieved a solid position in order to strike down valiantly onto the neck, to which she did and leaving a rather sizable gash in it's nape.

The beast shrieked and toppled forwards some few feet, it's neck barely latched onto it's main-body; in efforts to eliminate the hostility. Suika had engaged one last time and in a series of deft slashes unleashed a chakra-infused brutality on the creature. With it's body gored, and lay strewn on the floor of the main-lobby. Suika came to notice that the body itself started to disintegrate oozing a tar-like puss across the flooring. Judging by the still-dark outside, she had time to clean; and given the type of store, she had the tools to deal with rather catastrophic messes.
Too, did she come to notice a similar technique that even she was familiar. The being that she sensed nearby had cloaked itself in a cocoon of shadows, vanishing into the night.

It was safe to say, whomever it was- was likely the perpetrator that had been controlling the beast. But why?
As the day rose throughout the youth's labors of tidying and repairing what she could. The shop-keeper returned along with his part-timer, with a gentle 'clinging' of the door-entryway she was greeted with a charmed smile of a man, and the exhaustive expression of a boy. "From the looks of it, things are in one-piece. Is it safe to assume you worked out the problem miss? If so I'll be sure to send word this morning, should give you time to rest up at home having to deal with a whole night of animals." as the owner Ryuu spoke; the young-boy had shimmied throughout the aisles beginning to take stock-count and going about his usual daily labor.

As Suika and the beast met the finale of their aggressive tumble in the pet shop, the girl used taijutsu after taijutsu before executing her strongest one. With her last strike, the beast dissipated away. As the girl went to search for the source of the monster, the evil presence from outside was gone. Who exactly was that? And why did they attack the pet shop? Suika shook her head. Whoever it was, she had a feeling that she’d run into them again. Next time, however, they wouldn’t get away. Pretty drained from her impromptu battle, the kunoichi released her spiritual chakra and, instead, equipped herself with a broom. Dawn was arriving, and the place was a mess. She spent the rest of the night cleaning it up.

Morning arrived, and the shopkeeper returned to his shop. Awoken animals emitted various cries as the man inquired about the girl’s duty. “Yes, whatever was causing havoc is now gone, sir. Thank you for trusting in Kumogakure with your problems. If anything weird continues to happen, feel free to give us a call.” The girl bowed and exited the shop. Once outside, she let out a loud yawn and stretched herself out. Not only was she exhausted, but her body was pretty sore from that encounter. Oh well. With that, Suika went home. Today was another mission success!
