The Isaki thought it a lie when he had first heard it: a child ran towards him when he walked the streets of town; he asked him if he was actually the dead sennin -- now, something like that might have been seen as vague enough. Some story or local thing from the country, perhaps -- but immediately when he disclosed his matter-of-factly comment that he knew him to be the dead medical sennin from Mist things got a bit strange. How could anyone know? Were there any refugees among the citizens of the town that might have known him for the short period of time he led? A major worry was that Hoshikata may have already made it to the country and tipped off any number of people for any number of reasons.
Upon asking the boy who had told him such a lie he shook his head and challenged the hooded man, claiming that if he could find him in the town, he'd tell everything. He promptly ran off and took a sharp right into the traffic. There were plenty of people today: shoppers, families, visitors. Plenty of kids making mischief. The kid knew it would be hard to find him and was playing that to his advantage. Were his anonymity not in danger, the younger Isaki brother might have respected the boy for that; unfortunately for both of them, such weren't the case. The boy was a danger and there was someone else out there that wanted Karurosu to know that they knew them. The boy was making it difficult to find out who. Discipline was in order, and because of that, Karurosu would play his little game.
The crowds were slow and thick; it was difficult to maneuver through them. The Isaki was stuck moving slowly to find the kid; he made every effort to check each store and alleyway, every nook and cranny where the boy might hide. Some hours later, the boy was finally found. He was eating an apple and resting lazily against a wall, cockily sure that he wouldn't be found. Karurosu spotted him before otherwise; moving as he had to blend with the crowd, he grabbed the boy and took him to a near alleyway. The boy was terrified, naturally; Karurosu relied on that fear to try to get a name out of the boy, which he never gave. The truth that he claimed was that he was a Kirigakurian himself and recognized the former Sennin.
It was an unfortunate, but necessary evil that Karurosu committed soon after. He couldn't have anyone knowing he was alive, nor where he was. Every effort he could use to stay ahead of Hoshikata was another day -- another hour, another minute -- he was alive and was closer to having his brother put to the death. He couldn't fail until then.
A body was found. Self-mutilated. Reason for death was declared suicide.
