Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Anii did not particularly like this idea for a few reasons. One, is someone other than the two fight are going to get hurt. Someone is bound to be hit by a random jutsu. Anii could just see it now: one of them would shoot a ninjutsu to the other, he will dodge and it will hit the unfortunate soul standing behind the targeted person. Not to mention this anything goes ruling, which means one could use a bystander as a shield. It’s too bad Anii doesn’t know any barrier jutsus to protect herself.

The second reason is it will be boring doing nothing, but watch two men fighting. Sure a battle between two shinobi sounds entertaining to watch, but these are to students. They lack the power or endurance to do anything really interesting. Not to mention Shin does not seem to be able to control his blood jutsus properly. If he tries to cast one of those again this match will be over quicker than it began. However now that she thinks about it, if this is truly a anything goes fight there should be no problem with a third party aiding on of the fighters. Of course Anii would not interfere directly, but she will use her chakra strings to manipulate the battle. Considering the audience only the teacher should be able to see her strings. Hopefully the teacher would not announce her interference. The other person in the ring might not like that and attack her.

Things seemed to freeze for a moment, no one said or did anything and the silence echoed within itself. Tensai stood there with his rather lazy expression after his attempted smile had faded. Shin didn't make a move, and neither did anyone else. Finally exhaling a small sigh, Tensai would raise both his arms up nonchalantly. "I forfeit. He wins." With that being said, he turned around and slid his hands into his pockets. "There, glory and attention all your's." Without waiting or allowing anyone to stop him again, he went for the exit. Unless they'd use absolute force, and start attacking him full blast...Then no one's words would slow him in the least. He couldn't stomach the contaminated vicinity any longer.

Kitsune sighed at Tensai’s behavior, and let him leave. Frankly she was tired of the little brat. ” Ότι λίγο ενοχλητικό σκύλα... Αν δεν ήταν επειδή ήμουν δάσκαλος, θα ήθελα να τον στραγγαλίσει με τα χέρια μου.” she said in a grumbling tone, assuming not a single of the students knew ancient kumo. ”Well. I suppose there won’t be an exhibition match after all. Alright then. Let’s move the tables back and resume class then.” she added and cracked her neck before getting off her own table, to assist the students in putting the tables back in order.

After they had put everything back to where it was supposed to be, Kitsune hopped back to her table, and stretched ”Well then. Now that that’s over with… We’ve discovered your chakra natures, and we’ve learnt what chakra is. Now, can any of you tell me how you mold the chakra into a jutsu? Or why efficiency is important when drawing upon your chakra?” she asked the class. Two very important questions. The molding was simple enough, the answer to that was of course handseals. But the other question was tricky. What would happen to chakra, if too much was drawn out? Would it go to waste? Would it go back into your system?

Shashu remained standing next to Kitsune as Shin and Tensai faced off against each other. She looked the two young shinobi with calm and watchful eyes, a stark contrast to her earlier outburst. That wasn't to say she was relaxed however, far from it. Her body practically thrummed with tension as she studied the two in an attempt to divine their intentions and strategy. Tensai she knew fairly well, having spent a decent amount of time with him since she came to the academy. She could say with certainty that he would keep a level head as he took on Shin, but how that would translate to his actual fighting style remained to be seen....the little fighting she had witnessed had involved Tensai utilizing a variety of Ninjutsu techniques, mainly of the water variety. But....Tensai was acting strange here, so anything could happen.

Shin on the other hand was a wild card. Shashu had seen him fumble through his initial handseals when they tested their elements, but then perform perfectly fine when he had body swapped and blasted Tensai with that reddish water globe. His personality seemed variable as well; initially shy and awkward, then full of fire and fury when he had taken offense at Tensai's actions, and finally bashful and apologetic. He did seem eager to test his skills against Tensai though, so she doubted that he would that shyness stand in his way.

Then, off to the side were Toru and Anii. Toru was an easy read, laying himself out on the floor and relaxedly offering his opinon on the goings on. It was pretty clear he was just going to watch and see what happened. Heh. All he needs to do is buff his nails and a toothpick to pick his teeth and he would be the epitome of laziness. Shashu grinned. Nothing wrong with taking it easy when you can. Annie however was the complete opposite, examining the participants as much if not more intensely than Shashu herself. Hmmpf. Knowing Her Snobbiness, she probably won't be content just watching two students duke it out in a training match. She'll probably be like 'Oh this is boring, lets do something else'. Shashu snorted to herself, Anii's voice in her head somehow managing to sound even more haughty than the real thing. Hmmmm...wait a minute.... Shashu considered, looking over Anii once more. She was paying a little too much attention...focusing fully on the two prospective battlers to the point that it appeared she barely noticed the rest of the room. No way is she that interested... unless...she's going to interfere? Sensei did say anything goes... Shashu bit her lip. Well in that case, so will I! She readied her chakra and clasped her hands behind her back, out of sight of everyone in the room, Kitsune included. Not that it would matter in the latter case, as she had mentioned that she could see chakra...but if anything goes than it shouldn't be a problem.

With all the tension in the room and everyone expecting a fight, it came as a complete surprise (to Shashu at least) when Tensai suddenly up and forfeited. With nary a single glance back, he strode out the door. Shashu made to call out to him but stopped, her hand reaching slightly forward, the words she had been about to speak dying on her lips. Whatever it was that was bothering him was his own problem and much as she would like to help, it wasn't her place to pry. If he had wanted help, he would have asked. So, with a sigh she turned back to the class. It's weird...I have this strange feeling that I may never see him again. I hope he's ok...

With that the anticipation seeped out of the room, and Kitsune resumed class with a sigh of her own and a string of what sounded like gibberish to Shashu. Asking the class to rearrange the desks, she followed with a pair of questions. Namely, how to mold chakra, and the importance of efficiency. The first was simple: handseals. Shashu had done plenty of them in practice. The second question was a bit trickier though. "Um, wouldn't that be handseals? I heard that there are some Jutsu that don't use handseals, but I've seen older shinobi using them too, so they must be important even with higher level stuff." Shashu paused for a moment, then added. "As for efficiency, obviously you wouldn't want to waste chakra. If everyone went around wasting it they'd run out pretty quickly, wouldn't they? And also Sensei, if you don't mind me asking...what was that you said? I don't think I've heard that language before...."

[Topic entered by Inpc Shimete]

Shimete was waiting outside the classroom for Anii. She was given orders to escort Anii directly home after she has finished with her class. When Shimete notices a boy leaving the room she figures that mean the class was over. Shimete walks into the classroom and introduces herself, “Hello, I’m Nigiri Shimete and I am here to escort Miss Anii home.” Anii then yells at her and tells her that the class is not over yet. “Oh, I just assumed since… Please forgive my interruption Kitsune-sensei.” Shimete polity bows and decides to take a seat in the back since she is already inside. KItsune would not recognize her for she looks quite different for her academy days. Puberty for this Inuzuka was harder than the usual with canine ears and canine tail. However some might wonder how she recognized Kitsune with the blindfold on. Was Shimete able to smell the teacher from that far?

Suddenly Anii turns back to normal and her feline friend reappears as her jutsu reached it limit in time. Tibbers then spoke once more, “Miss I believe you are in error. That was neither canine nor female or were you talking to the one that just entered.” Shimete had no idea what she was being compared to and she probably doesn’t want to know. Tibbers was making a rude joke on Shimete’s canine appearance. “Hey I have an idea. If Shin is still up for combat, Shimete would make a fine opponent. She may be a maid, but she is a capable fighter.”

Shin simply sighed and shook his head as Tensai forfeited and left.

I hope I never see that kid again: something about him just rubs me the wrong way.

The red-eyed boy then turned to listen to Shinrya-sensei's words, though the first few he could not understand. He hastily and haphazardly shoved a few tables into place, scuffing the floor underneath as he did so.

Then, Shinrya-sensei continued their lesson. The questions about how to mold chakra and why efficiency was crucial to manipulating chakra caused Shin to scratch his head a bit. He had a vague idea for how to answer both, but was still unsure of how to respond.

Fortunately for the scrawny boy, Shashu affirmed his thoughts regarding the first answer.

Handseals . . . so I was right about the zodiac signs . . .

Recent memories of his first attempt at using blood jutsu made his eyes open wide and grin cross his face as he figured out the answer to the second question.

"Shashu's right, 'bout the handseals, right?" he wanted to confirm this before moving on. "So if you use too little chakra, your jutsu will fail." He looked at his wrists, scars from where Tensai had healed him still present. "But if you use too much chakra, that chakra has to come from somewhere, right? Well, doesn't it come from our life energy then?"

Before Shinrya-Kitsune could respond to him however, an woman with canine features and a blindfold entered the room. A brief exchange between this newcomer, Anii, and Tibbers resulted in yet another challenger for Shin.

The boy, however, just sighed.

"If Shinrya-sensei wishes me to fight, then I will do so. If not, I'm happy with just chilling out."

[ooc: Sorry for the delay everyone]

His suggestion was clearly not the topic of emphasis as it soon became clear that everyone, including their instructor, was more interested in a potential blood bath rather than moving on peacefully. He was uncertain why everyone was so keen on continuing to feed attention towards Tensai's antics even after his blatant communication of profound disinterest. The young Oginu was starting to get the feeling that the acquaintances around him wanted to see Tensai put on his back most probably for his instances of acting out. "Why is everyone so fixed on this Tensai kid? Is he really this important to stop the entire class for?" He pondered with legitimate curiosity as he continued to incessantly scratch the back of his head.

He looked on with surprise as Shin's demeanor seemed to shift to a polar opposite which was quickly followed by an unexpected apology. The likes of which had seemed to turn the tension for the better as the feral and sensitive boy simply agreed to put on a show and take the animosity out of their mysterious feud. But low and behold, before any amount of peace could be cemented, Tensai acted out again. This time albeit with less theatrics, but packing it in once more none the less. He could only shake his head at the time that had truly been wasted towards someone who was simply allowed to leave in the end as they originally wished to do in the first place. Taking a deep breath which consequently subsided the itching upon his head, he relinquished whatever emotional attachments he had to the situation and seeked to move forward with Kitsune's lesson.

Shashu had pretty much answered the questions correctly about chakra that were presented. Hand seals were the obvious answer to molding chakra, though the take on the importance of efficiency seemed to be very much up in the air. It was true you didn't want to waste chakra and the prospect of it being derived from life force seemed probable as well. He had assumed Anii failed to give her remarks on the matter due to the interruption of what appeared to be a strange anthropomorphic canine seemingly of the female variety. Though extremely creepy in appearance, managing to give the amber eyed boy the chills, this Nigiri Shimete seemed nice enough none the less. Long as she kept her distance in the back rows he wouldn't have to be anymore frightened than he already was. "I agree with the others about hand seals molding the chakra and such. And I think Shashu captured best why efficiency is important. I'd hate to copy exactly what she said..." He stated awkwardly due to the uncertainty of his answers.

Kitsune shook head head at Anii’s suggestion that Shin were to fight Shimete. ”No, it’s fine, we’ve just got the tables back in order too.” she said before hopping op on her desk and forming a bunch of handseals, and making a clone of herself ”As you can see, handseals is indeed the correct answer. As for what happens if you input too little chakra, well. Keep a close look.” she continued and formed another stack of handseals, making another clone. Only due to putting too little chakra in, the clone was miniscule in size, and practically lifeless. ”And if I input too much chakra, the excess will simply vanish. That’s why managing your chakra is super important. Only use the required amount, if necessary a bit more than that, but not way more.”

She jumped down from her desk and dismissed the mini-clone and the other clone. ”Does any of you guys know why elemental natures are important? Well. Either way I’ll explain it.” she said with a grin. ”It’s fairly simple. We have the five base elements, water, wind, fire, earth and lightning. Those form a cycle. In terms of being strong against another element, Fire is stronger than Wind, which is stronger than Lightning, which is stronger than Earth, which is stronger than Water, which is stronger than Fire.” she paused and waited for that information to sink into her students heads before continuing: ”Of course, it also goes in reverse. You can actually use your elements to help the element you’re weaker against. So for instance, if I were to create a flame wall. Someone with the wind nature could increase its fire power by applying a wind jutsu to it, essentially fanning the flames.”

Ok, so elements have strengths and weaknesses of their own as well. That's kinda neat. "So it's essentially a big game of Janken then? If so where do Anii and Shin-kun's elements fit in? You said theirs were Steel and Blood, but you didn't mention either of them."

Of course, Shashu didn't want to only hear about Steel and Blood. She didn't know for sure, but she figured there were probably other special elements out there and those she were the ones she wanted to hear about. Blood didn't really seem her style, and anything that Anii used was definitely not something she wanted to be associated with.

Shashu’s question was an easy one for Anii to figure out, but Anii too had some questions about the advance elements. “That’s simply metal and blood are nothing but the more refined forms of earth and water. Thus they would fit the slots for earth and water respectfully. However I am unsure where in the cycle advance elements like wood or crystal would go. They are a combination of two elements, so would they take multiple spots in the cycle?” Shimete being more experienced knew the answer but she was not part of the class and kept quiet.

Kitsune looked at the two students. ”Well. Yes, it’s kinda like that. However, elements like Steel and Blood are called advanced elements. Usually formed up of two separate elements. For instance, I wield the element known as Plasma” Kitsune said and to underline her point, she formed a few handseals and formed the Plasma Blade. Essentially a katana made out of plasma, with the elements potent energy behind it. ”It’s a combination of Fire, and Lightning. If I had to put numbers to it, I’d say somewhere between two thirds, and three fourths Fire. And lightning for the rest, to form one whole. It’s a nifty element though, it allows me to do things like this.”

She grinned and formed a few handseals, before shooting a laser from her right index finger right down the class room, aiming for the metal ornament at the very end, heating it up to show the class just how hot plasma was. ”If you want to go into the physics of the element, it’s fairly simple. Normally you’d say that matter has three states. Solid, liquid and gas. That’s not entirely true, there’s also the fourth state: Plasma, and that’s what I’m using here.” she said and nodded. ”I’ve seen other advanced elements, like… Well, I met a person with complete control over paper. And ink. Incidentally he was a writer. Guess those two elements come in handy when speed-writing.” she finished and grinned.

Advanced elements huh? Shashu thought in response to Kitsune's demonstration, her gaze moving from the plasma blade to the white-hot ornament she had aimed at. I can certainly see where lightning and fire both come into play here. She flexed her fingers, splaying them out, touching the tips together idly. She could feel the special chakra within her flow forth with the motions, drawing lines of silk between them. Nothing really noticable, just idle chakra manipulation. I wonder if that's what I have in me. An advanced element. She considered, then gave a minute shake of her head. No, it would have shown up on the chakra paper then. Besides, that doesn't feel right. This...this feels like it comes from someplace deeper.

Shashu shook the webs from her fingers and focused her attention back on Kitsune as she went on to explain how she once met a person who combined the advanced elements Paper and Ink to aid in his writing. Ink and Paper? Those seem like odd choices for advanced elements. Maybe there is something out there that relates to weaving.... "So exactly how many advanced elements are there? And if Plasma is a combination of Lightning and Fire chakra, does that mean all advanced elements are a combination of two elements?" For a moment she had thought that these advanced elements would give her some sort of clue as to what her power was, but now she was interested in the advanced elements for their own sake. "If they are, how do they react to each other? The base elements have a cycle, but what if you had, say, Fire and Water together against Wind and Earth? Would they cancel each other out, make each other stronger, or just blow up altogether?"

Kitsune took a light breath. ”Well. There’s countless combination elements, but so far we’ve discovered twentyfive.” she said and wrote them up on the blackboard behind her, one by one. ”Paper, Sand, Lava, Wood, Metal, Shadow, Explosion, Plasma, Kinesis, Scorch, Ink, Radiation, Storm, Gravity, Magnetic, Crystal, Acid, Ice, Vapor, Blood, Poison, Mirror, Dust, Photon and Sound.” she said as she wrote them up. ”There’s probably many more out there, knowing how crazy our world is. But that’s what we’ve discovered so far. As far as I know, they’re all a combination of two elements. But I’ve got no idea how they stack up against each other, I haven’t exactly had the chance to test it out against other things. So… I don’t actually know. However, that’s all the time we have for today.” she said and nodded to the students. ”While I’d have loved to see more activity from Shin-kun and Toru-kun, they still pass the class.”

"Aww already? It was just getting interesting too..." Shashu sighed and rose to her feet, then walked up to Kitsune. "Thanks for the class Shinrya-sensei, I enjoyed it, even with all the uh...interruptions. Until next time!" She bowed to Kitsune and waved to Toru, who seemed to be asleep, and Shin, who seemed to be lost in his own little world. That Toru is an odd one. At first he's all raring to go, and now he's asleep? Pft. She didn't even spare a glance for Anii before she headed out the door. Once outside she looked around, but saw no sign of Tensai.I hope he's alright...though I have this strange feeling that I may not see him again for a long, long time, if ever. She let out a little sigh and put him out of mind. Whatever he did from here was his choice. If he wanted to talk to her he would, and if he didn't then it was his business. Maybe I'll go to the Library tonight, see if I can find some books about those advanced elements. I want to learn more about them...
