As the saying went there was no place like home, and for Sora there definitely wasn't a place like home that he felt comfortable in. that is, that was the case until he came across the house with the blue door. This home, just beyond the shore, had the perfect views and the perfect small quaintness that he could see himself thoroughly enjoying. The first thing that struck him about the home was the fact that despite looking just as plain as all the other homes that dotted the sea side, it had the most striking blue door. Looking at the orange sandy colored brick and the interesting and peculiar red roof, Sora felt a certain kinship to the place one that called to him beyond what he could truly describe. Perhaps it was the fact that there was no price listed under the for sell sign, or maybe there was the fact that it seemed to be just far enough away from the others that it seemed to be a loner something that he was starting to become. However, none of that seemed to matter as Sora looked intently at the small home and wondered whom he would have to speak to in order to get a look inside. Walking up to the to the door he noticed the fact that it was far more intricate up close than it was from afar, and it had a lot more personality than what one would have imagined for such a home. It was then that he noticed the fact that the there was a little box sitting at the base of the door with the words inscribed key. Reaching down to grab the key he looked at the odd nature of it. It looked like something out of a fairy tale or out of a dream, the textbook definition of a key one that nobody would ever truly use in such a modern world.
Taking the key and holding it up to the light he noticed the fact that it seemed to be made out of a material that he couldn't quite describe. It wasn't metal, nor was it some sort of material that he would normally ascribe to a useful key, but it seemed to be made out of some sort of shimmering stone or coral that came from the sea itself. Shrugging to himself, he didn't give it much more thought and he inserted the key into the keyhole and turned it. It was at that time that Suigetsu gave an alarm in his head. “What are you doing boy, do you just always go around grabbing keys and opening doors that you don't have any further information on?” admittedly, Sora could tell that the entire situation was peculiar, but he was so bent on finding a piece of something that he could call his own that he was throwing all sorts of caution to the wind. Arguing back, “Well they just seem to leave and open house for sale with just a key maybe it was meant to be?” While Sora was definitely being a bit too believing of a situation that was too good to be true, the fact of the matter was that it was just that, too good to be true. Having been slowly but surely spending more and more time taking trips while Sora slept, Suigetsu was slowly but surely discovering the keys to Sora’s mind that would allow him to unlock the full potential that was being able to fully control the body that was ultimately his.
Like a parasite on a mission, Suigetsu had been inserting himself into every facet of Sora’s being and this house with the blue door was the final key before he would finally have what he sought, total control. For so long he had been locked away and regulated to a corner of a brain that had shunted him away like a careless thought but now he was on the cusp of fully dominating the beautiful mind that he had been gifted with. The matriarch of the Water Court Ancients had thought of him as a controlled threat, but little did she know, that it was impossible to imprison him, even if the prison was a mind of his own creation. Suigetsu wasn’t aware of just what would truly happen when he truly took back over, but he was sure that it couldn’t be a worse fate than what he had been subjected to, after all, Sora was technically a facsimile of a personality that he had created to protect himself. Now, however, he no longer needed any protection and if it meant that he would have to cannibalize the personality that was Sora then that was a sacrifice that he was willing to make. Not totally evil like the rest of his kind seemed to be, Suigetsu would try to be kind to Sora, and ultimately, they could probably work something out, but with the Sennin games on the horizon, Suigetsu couldn’t let the opportunity go to waste, nor could he allow Sora to mess up things when he was so close to truly obtaining the power that he would need. It was Suigetsu’s hope that he would be able to find a happy medium for the two, one where Sora would be happy to be a backseat driver in a way that Suigetsu had formally enjoyed, which brought him to the current state of things. That of the house with the blue door.
To Sora, the house was inconsequential, a find that he had stumbled across, but like the most dangerous of traps, the truth was far more nefarious. For a fact, there was indeed a house present on the beach, and it was just far enough away from the rest that it stood out with a certain charm that only a small house could have, but whereas Sora thought that the door was blue, it was in fact, very much not. Like the worst of trickeries, what Sora was experiencing was a machination of Suigetsu’s design. With just the slightest tug on Sora’s mental strings, Suigetsu was altering the most simple and ignorable of things to stick out to Sora. In this altered state of Suigetsu’s design, time seemed to slow to a crawl and the most basic of desires were especially amplified. Suigetsu didn’t have long to work in this state, because to any onlooker, something would seem especially off about Sora. Whereas he thought that he was walking lackadaisically, he was somewhat stumbling. Had he been asked to recite even the most basic of words or even his own name, then he would have been found to have slightly slurred speech.
Altering the state of Sora’s perception of reality involved carefully speeding up the intricate bits of Sora’s mind and in no uncertain terms, while Sora was speeding through things mentally, he was missing out on the true details of what he was experiencing. Without having a lot of time to work with, Suigetsu knew that he had to coax Sora into a state where he would say and do anything, even giving over control of their shared experience to the Ancient that lurked within him. Not completely evil, Suigetsu attempts at stopping the boy were somewhat altruistic, he wished him no harm, but the next leg of their journey would need a certain cold and calculating personality that Sora just simply didn’t possess. That was okay however, Suigetsu would make sure that they would be protected, no matter what. “Well then, if you’re so insistent on just barging in, then have at it. Just don’t touch anything!” Saying just enough to pretend to be concerned, Suigetsu waited on the ready for the boy to turn the key and to in effect give over control to Water Court Ancient. “I swear that you sound just like my mom sometimes…” Sora mentally muttered and without further a fuss, he used the key to turn the lock, and then everything for him went dark.
Blinking as though he had been asleep for a long time, Suigetsu found himself standing in the spacious, yet still somewhat basic living space that was the house the supposed blue door. Feeling a sense of newness, he turned and looked at the door and noted that it’s simple color would definitely look a lot better if painted blue, but for now, he had other plans. Having fully taken over the mindscape that he and Sora shared, he got to the task of reinforcing the mental locks that would keep him in control. He would lose some access to Sora’s abilities, a phenomenon that he would have to research further, later, but for now he was more than capable of doing what was necessary for their continued existence. Closing the door and moving about the room, he noted the layer of dust on everything in the home as well as the aged nature of the things that had been bleached by the sunlight constantly pouring in and the common sea side rust that had started to creep onto the metal things. Shaking his head, he muttered to himself, “This won’t do!”, and then clapped his hands twice. At first, nothing happened, and for a small but uncomfortable amount of time, he stood in silence. Then, as if like a slumbering beast, there was a low rumble, and then suddenly an excited energy began to overtake the room. As he looked on with an excited glee, suddenly the dust and rust began to fade away and reveal clean and newness beneath them and even the old furniture began to age in reverse as the years in the sun gave way to a more new look. Suigetsu was back in his element, and ready to take the war to the sea.
