Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Kamaru stroked the scruffy face he had achieved over the journey. They weren’t cautious enough. The whole group was eyeing him to speak on their behalf. Kamaru eyed the sword in a hidden sheath poking out of someone’s jacket and he made eye contact and stared at it. They slowly closed their eyes with the realization.

”It’s a bit unorthodoxed to do things this way but I guess since we’re here we should listen to your problems. If we can assist we will since it’s what we do.” Kamaru commented looking at some of the people with him shrugging. It was better than explaining why they were in country as an unknown.

It was supposed to be a simple rule, dressed down as transients they were going to get a few supplies for the group before heading down to the Village Proper. They heard they’d have to make their way to the capital first though which was odd Kamaru thought. Granted the Fire Daimyo would have had a closer watch over Shinobi if they were right next to his garrison of samurai. But someone had been spotted by accident, better to take the assumption as is and explain later then cause or raise an issue. Besides if people needed help it might look good on the former Konoha Corporation shinobi to effectively do some work. Also it might get them a discount on the goods being purchased.

From what the town people told them they were being raided by bandits. Or rather Kamaru broke it down to a group of transients that had never actually resorted to violence, simply demanded food and were usually out of the town within half a day. General patrols of Iwa Ninja usually weren’t fast enough to catch them it seemed. Granted that they’d be in the area possibly tomorrow Kamaru started looking at the town from a defensible position. The town was easily defendable but the issue was able bodies. The majority of the able bodies had enlisted as Iwa Ninjas sending money back to the small community. Over two dozen raiders even if nonviolent would make people nervous if they actually started to injure or kill people. Due to the size of the town those that couldn’t work or perished in a raid would affect the rest still alive and the ability to survive. That night the rest of the caravan was moved into the town and hidden away. Explaining to the town they were on a humanitarian mission already got sagely nods from the older members of the town and apologies. At times Kamaru was thankful for his upbringing and the ability to blather out believable pretenses for situations.

With his primary concern close by Kamaru felt a bit more at ease. Also having a large number of people on the outskirts of the village might put the bandits into hiding. From interviewing the people the bandits were in their mid-teens to early twenties, the leader possibly in his late twenties to early thirties. They didn’t actually seem like bad people and they were only raided when they had a bit extra to spare never thankfully when they were in dire times. The schedule for the raiders seemed sporatic. It wasn’t always on the same time table for when they’d come it seems but besides raising the occasional clenched fist no actual violence was used. Only a threat. Kamaru thought long into the night about it and had the shinobi with him get to know some of the people. For this confidence trick he wasn’t putting civilians lives on the line.

The next day a large group of vagabonds seemed to swagger into town. The streets were dead, more quiet then usual they noticed as they entered town making their way to the center to see the town elder. What they found were about six people on their knees next to a man at a small table in the middle of the town center drinking tea. The cloth over several bodies caught their eye as well. The blood stains were apparent as well.

Kamaru put on the airs of someone very calm and one without the hesitation to kill very easily while he sipped tea. He explained that the town was now his. The town’s people explained someone else had been raiding them and Kamaru explained he was here to take some of the supplies he was here to take the town and set up shop. To make himself clear some people were made ‘examples’ of he stated gesturing towards the bodies.

The leader although stuttering at first called Kamaru foolish since the patrols would notice some creepy sleaze coming in and doing such things to good people. Kamaru simply laughed and explained that’s why he was pinning the death on the group of raiders, once more staying in the town to help protect them out of the goodness of his heart would naturally be suggested by the people fearful of what may happen to them.

The man shot back they’d never actually wanted to hurt any of the villagers and how they might have been in the wrong but Kamaru was just plain bad, evil even. Kamaru agreed he was evil since he’d make the dead villagers help take down the people that had been raiding them for so long. As he snapped his fingers the bodies lurched and shambled to their feet, moaning and wailing as they neared the raiders. The group broke in a panic and confusion let loose. The one in the rear moving away first saw a few men confront them. The dead lunched through the air towards the remaining group. Kamaru having finished his tea stood and seemed to glide toward the leader with malice in his eyes. The leader screamed out for him to stop repeatedly before everything went black. The group of raiders mostly just young men with no home it seemed eventually came to seeing a small group of people taking off makeup. Comments about it was fun to do a ‘mission’ of sorts again came up and the group turned to see Kamaru clearing his throat from his chair.

The town people came out and Kamaru explained the reality of the situation. It was up to the townspeople to decide their fate. Either turning them into the authorities next time they passed through or integrate them into the village. IF the town opted for the second and any of them tried to bail and go back to a life of crime or harmed the people Kamaru explained he’d personally come back and stick his boot so far up their rear the sweat off the back of his knee would quench their thirst. The fact he said it with a smile though seemed to get the point across. That evening as the caravan of refugees left Kamaru sighed looking at those closest to him, ”We need to find out more about how this country and the village works” Kamaru stated.
