Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

It was always the same situation that happened these days, the village was hustling and bustling with the people that flocked into this place, some being seekers of trade others being people who wanted to have their own names forgotten threw time. All had one situation that they knew. It was a simple place for them a place to rest and a place to make sure that the company on their travels. Something that not many people got in their life but those that did inside of leaf had felt a sense of honour being here and it had helped them get through their tough times.

The district was welcoming with different place, of course it had many options for those that were looking to recruit people into the branch, and this was the aim of one lady today who would be wandering through the districts she would be striking up conversations and making sure that they were given the option to join the Branch. Of course, who could say what it held for them, the future for everyone was always changing. Always adapting and moving it was like time, someone could always change the path that had been set for them with their own actions.

The member of the ANBU that would be given the choice as to where they wanted to go, of course that was always the choice. Look at the way that actions would take place depends on where the recruitment went. The first was always going to be the ramen shop often a local choice for students of course it was warm and welcoming to those that needed or wanted support. A place to relax and a place to stay it was always welcoming for everyone that wanted the help. Or just a place to enjoy the ramen and sit around after a hard day’s work, of course some things always had to be made exceptions for, even the older members of the village come back to make sure that they can get some food.

The next place was the shops always busy, always packed with people buying equipment, or even finding a book to study with. It was clear that the shops had potential as well maybe a few fliers here and there would sort this issue out, but by the time that they finally came into play. After all every student needed a place to buy goods from, needed a place to make sure that they could stock up on before the mission begun. It was a simple place but had a lot to offer in terms of goods that could be purchased when the time came to it.

The last place that they had of course was the final straw in case they were after the worst of the worst, to make sure that the branch would be stronger. The branch would grow and progress with a new influx of recruits. One place that would always be busy, and one place that would always have experienced fighters ready to serve on the drop of a hat. It was one last chance in the tavern that would be there.

The female ANBU looked around that the men and women that had gathered for the meeting, the room that she stood in was large and circular the lights that hung from the ceiling illuminating the space, the spots where the lights pooled stood out against the darkness. She stood at the front of the room in one of these light pools looking out into the gathering. Each of them were wearing their ANBU gear so Yuki looked out into a sea of expressionless white and red faces. The Haku sighed and placed her hand on her forehead, it felt like she had been at this for hours and she was getting more than a little frustrated to say the least.

“So, run that by us again Ma’am.”

“We are going to get some new recruits, it’s not that hard to follow,” Yuki sighed again, this conversation was going around in circles.

“But why can’t we recruit the way we normally do, let the academy students come to us.”

“Well with the Academy being blown up that’s not exactly going to happen it is?” There as pause as silence fell over the group. “And yes, before you say anything I know who was to blame for that” One of the ANBU in the group put their hand up “No it is not a topic that is open for discussion.” Instantly the ANBU put his hand down again. “I don’t care how much you all are going to moan about it, I promised the Sennin that in his absence we would make a drive for recruitment.” She grabbed a pile of papers and slammed them on the desk in front of her. “So, you are going to go out there and start handing out flyers”

“But why do we have to do it?” Ask one of the ANBU stood around the room.

“Well, I would make the new recruits do it but as previously mentioned we don’t have any. Look I don’t want to have to do this either trust me.”

It has been about an hour since Yuki had been out in the market handing out leaflets, with everyone that she handed out her will to live went with it, she thought that paperwork was bad enough but this was another level of dull. She looked at the number of ANBU that stood in the market squire doing and thinking the same thing, even if they didn’t get any new recruits today it a least made the ANBU look less like crazy psycho killers and more like actual approachable people which were only a good thing, the ANBU need to break this façade of being the bad guys having feet on the streets would help in that area as well. Yuki lent against a nearby wall keeping a watchful eye out on her ANBU making sure that they were doing the job that they were tasked with, she turned looking towards the tavern she was wondering if anyone had thought to try in there.
She entered the place was filled with loud talking as the smell of booze, it was quite rowdy considering it wasn’t that far passed noon she applied her charm and approached a group of gristly looking men

“Good Afternoon gentlemen, you look like the types that are after a challenge, have you thought about signing up to the ANBU?” She put her hand in front of her offering a flyer to the group.

With the entrance of a female into the drinking hole it allowed the music to stop and the men that had been getting drunk to turn around. It seemed that the turn up had been unexpected and all the reaction that was given of course had to be shown. They didn’t think too much before the women spoke it was weird that she had managed to come here. Why was she here currently looking well that became apparently when she spoke, it seemed that they were being offered a chance to prove themselves inside of a branch, some of them spoke between each other.

Few of the others laughed at that moment in time as if it was kind of a joke that they were offering them. Naturally they knew full well that the offer was probably going to see them dead more than anything else. But that wasn’t important the red head that had walked into the bar had peaked a few of their interests and they had the company that they wanted. As a few of the men came around to make sure that they could ehar the conversation, the drinks continued to flow and booze made its way around the bar. Though how many people would be refilling their drink would be a different matter as a few of them already were a few drinks deep in that split second.

“So why would you be coming around here to join the ANBU missy? I am sure that you have better places to go to than here to gather new recruits?”

The man that spoke seemed to be overly confident though that might have been since he had been smashing out the drinks now for over an hour. But of course, it seemed that didn’t matter they were talking hard and fast about the issues and it seemed that Yuki had decided to come to this bar. It was clear that she had her work cut out but of course what could be done about. Everyone there was more interested in her appearance than what she was trying to sell to them.

“So, if we join the ANBU branch are we going to be working closely with you then? Training with you and make sure that you teach us how to be the best that we can be. Just out of interest more than anything, I just don’t want to be pushed to one side if I join and forgotten about. I want to know that you will personally look after each of us and make sure we have one on one tutoring session”

The smell of booze escalated from the man’s mouth as he spoke the words. It seemed that out of everyone that was currently there he was the one that had drunk the most in such a short amount of time. Knowing full well that he was swaying in his seat. That didn’t matter he was being offered a chance to join a branch that had someone like Yuki recruiting for it couldn’t be a bad thing like that.

Yuki winched and lend her body backwards as the smell of the alcohol on his breath fill her noise, she waved her hand in front of her face. She rolled her eyes and pushed the man back away from her, while she didn’t want to start a fight this man as impolite and she didn’t stand for impoliteness. She grabbed his face with one hand, her touch so super cooled allowing him to feel the cold heat of her icy blood she even allowed her chakra to cool the air around her and other men that had gathered allowing them to know that his choice to make a move on her was a poor one. Her eyes narrowed giving him a look that would have filled the male with fear. She brought his face close to hers.

“Oh, I can grantee one of one training session. But I will warn you none of my students has ever survived” She grinned, under her mask. She placed a flyer in the top pocket of the man’s shirt and let his head go of his watching him lose his balance and topple forwards. “I expect to see you all at signs up tomorrow morning” Her voice had changed back to how it was before and the chill in the air had receded, she jumped off the bar stool and waved as the group before leaving the tavern.

Back in the fresh air, she took a deep breath, she was glad that the air outside was thankfully a help of a lot fresher than the air inside the tavern. While she wasn’t sure she could have called a success but at least she tried and in all fairness, it was his own fault. She walked through the streets passing many her fellow ANBU, all of which made themselves look busy as she passed them. Yuki walked through the market and headed towards the Reman shop that was frequented by several students or at least it used to be her time anyway. She pushed the door as was instantly greeted with the warm smell of broth and noodles, it filled the ANBU with the warm feeling of home. Yuki scanned the restaurant seeing a group of students sitting in a booth at the back, they were giggling and looked full of that youthful spirit that had left her long ago. Yuki walked over to the group and cleared her throat.

“It is so glad to see a group of students close, do you want to be part of a group where you have the closest friend that will protect you whatever happens?” She paused “Then you should think about joining the ANBU branch, our sign-ups start tomorrow morning, we will teach you all you need to know.” With every word that came out of her mouth, she felt more and more like she was selling out. She smiled under her mask hoping they she sounded as approachable as possible.

It seemed that the recruitment effort for the bar had gone downhill very quickly since Yuki was not willing to take the advantage of the men being so blunt around her presence, it was straight up stopped with her grip and her abilities being demonstrated so close to the men of this drinking home, but they would come to learn that an angry Haku was nothing to be messed with. It seemed that they backed off from her in a few seconds, a few of those that were drinking instantly stopped doing so. It was clear that they needed to make sure that the whole situation was resolved as the bar tender came over and looked at the mess that had come about.

“I think they have got the message miss, and know where to come to if it was needed. Of course, they are probably more scared of you right now than you believe but if you have spoken your business and have nothing more to say then I would like you to leave. You can offer a flyer for me to make sure that people see it if you wish”

With that the bar man stood there and let himself hold his hand out to take the letter from the Haku knowing full well that she probably wouldn’t have many sign ups from the actions that she had just taken. But with that the tavern experience was simply cut at that point and it probably was for the best, with the explosive nature of the ANBU temper it became clear that they would not be taking her up on her offer.

The students were sat away eating in the shop, laughter was echoing around the room as the students begun to relax out after what would probably have been a hard time for them inside of the Academy. Laughter and joy wrung out from inside the ramen shop as they talked about the learning that they were getting, how the tutorial times were going. It seemed that most of the time that they were outside of the academy they were trying to brush their skills up, even spending time giving tips to others. Teamwork that they were going on with it seemed the best approach to start a life in the academy.

“Um…I really haven’t considered my options at this point, we only just started training and am only just learning the strengths that each of us poses. Without trying to be offensive lady but we are just newcomers to the scene. We have yet to even consider taking our exams to be elevated inside of the village. Is there a way that we could maybe contact you when the time comes for to look at training inside the branch? It’s something that we will have to consider for sure.”

It seemed that Yuki had managed to hit gold with the academy students. They knew full well that they still wanted to learn the duties of their role and wanted to give it sometime. But that means they would not close the door completely at all.

Just when she was about to give up there was finally someone that was showing some serious interest, thank god for Leaf Student she thought to herself, she handed each of them a flyer that contained the basic duties of the ANBU, she knew that it was a daunting prospect still being in the academy and thinking of the future but she always knew that she would be joining the ANBU.
“Great to hear, of course, we are always looking for new recruits and you lot look like you have exactly what it takes. Whenever you feel like you are ready then please let your tutors at the Academy know and we will be in touch” She kept her tone friendly and approachable as she gave each of them the piece of paper. Yuki turned from the rest of the group looking around to the other patrons of the restaurant and handed them a few flyers here and there, most of them meet the piece of paper with confusion but at least some of them seemed interested. At least no-one was trying to make a move on her like that creepy drunk from the bar which as always, a bonus.

The Haku left the restaurant and walked back into the outside air, after the conversation with the students her spirits felt slightly lifted after all it couldn’t have gone any worse than the one inside that seedy little tavern the thought if it still making her skin crawl. Yuki walked through the street trying to think of where else she could go to try and get some fresh recruits, she looked at the numerous shops that circled the marketplace. Yuki thought that it was a go-to place for any to start. The female opened the door to the general goods store, her presence was made known by the tingle of a little bell on top of the door. The store was what you’d expect from a general store, products littered the five or 6 floors to ceiling shelves, each of them contains everyday goods like bread and canned foods. Some them contained small toys, books and other Knick-knacks, she peered round of them looking for the owner of the store it would be rude to leave things on the counter without the clerk’s permission, after waiting a few moments for them to make an appearance she left them on the counter and left again hoping that she would get a bit more luck in the next store.

Walking back into the street she walked to the store next to the one that she had just tried, it looked like a store that sold numerous combat-related bits and pieces. I just might be in luck here she thought to herself, she opened the door and looked around the store. Once again, she couldn’t see the clerk so she decided to shout at him
Hello, is there anyone here I was wondering if I could leave some flyers on the counter here?” Yuki called into the area behind the counter hoping that this time she could get a response.

As Yuki made her way around the place it seemed clear that she was now in a position that the recruitment drive of the village had gone up. This seemed to be lucky for her and had allowed the opportunity to drive recruitment up inside of the village. So, this had been an eventful day for the ANBU to say the least while most of them had been sent to work with their task master it seemed appropriate that the whole branch was out recruiting today. Opportunity’s would come up for them and with this new drive that had taken place hopefully they would see some massive improvements soon in the amount of new sign ups that they had.

While the students kept eating away at the meal that had been provided in the ramen shop the direction of the conversation has managed to change, it was now focused more on what Yuki had come to speak to them about. Could you blame them for having been sucked into the conversation when approached by the ANBU branch and told that there was an opportunity for them to joint that was something that would keep them talking for a few hours of course. But it was to be expected to kid that did not know much about the world and still had a few things to learn of course.

Yuki had now gone around the final hour and was talking with the shop owners the last part of her aim today was to make sure that she managed to show flyers in the window of course. At least this would do some advertising the branch even without Yuki being present inside of the district. Hope was something that she had and to be honest it was something that would be helpful for her soon. Yuki started to speak to one of the shop owners that she found, it seemed that she was more interested in why the ANBU had come. It was always considered that they had done something wrong, broken a rule but the ANBU were not that kind of branch they were something darker and here to find new recruits to do the bidding of the branch.

“I mean…..that would be fine, if you give me a few I can get them all posted out to everyone that I know, it might take some time but I am sure I can organise for everyone to have something in their shop to promote this, though is there anything else I can do for you at all? Or was that the only thing that brought you into the shop this time if I may ask lady ANBU?”

The woman’s voice showed how she felt about having an ANBU inside of her shop and how unwilling she was to be questioned any more. But at least she had managed to make sure that the new flyer was inside of the window and it was currently showing that the branch was on a recruitment drive it seemed that the task Yuki had set out to finish today had been completed.

Yuki was becoming tired form the day of walking around, though it may not have seemed like much in terms of what she was doing she was having to spend a lot more time with a smile on her face and her words of kindness instead of her usual tone. It was exhausting to keep up the appearance of being so cheery even in the face of new potential members she just hopped her efforts today and would not go missed. She sighed to herself as she listened to the words that had been spoken by the shop owner as a smile on her lips behind the mask she tried to get through the conversation as quickly as possible.

“Thank you for your assistance, it is appreciating in this matter. As I said as a little thank you service if you need anything at all just call a favour in on the ANBU branch and we will be happy to help, it’s the least I can do for your kindness today after all I must admit it’s been an exhausting day already. I just want to put my feet up and with you and the other shops being willing to try and help give out directions and flyers in your shops we hope to see a lot of interest but just keep an eye on it and keep going.”

Yuki allowed a few seconds to pass by before she turned and left the shop deciding that she had kept the shop keeper long enough as she turned around and allowed herself to exit the store and back into the daylight of the street unsure as to what else was expected of her at that exact point in time. She allowed her hand to come up to her ear and click on the headset that had been waiting to be used.

“Reporting in, I have managed to complete all of the work that I was required to do on my section, I expect reports in the following days on progress form the rest of you. If you do not find me soon then I will find you and I want to remind everyone that this is not up for negotiation. Do not make me come and find you. It will not end well”

With that Yuki allowed the mic to click off in her ear as she looked to the sky. It seemed that she had finished her work here and with no other reason to hang around Yuki decided to retire herself home for the night.
