Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Yuuto sent word to Kiri, he knew that Junko and the young medical shinobi in training were out of village. The Sonic King had met Kiri purely by chance. It was out of coincidence their paths intersected, Kiri seeing clarity while Yuuto sought a creature. It had been nearly a month since the last time they met up and since then Yuuto had vastly changed. For one his stature was larger now, not that he was taller but that he was more muscular, more toned than he had been in months since being released from the prison. He also had the Sharingan at his disposal, a tool that was the treasure of the Uchiha, and his two Sharingan were not knock offs tapping into the power, no he had the full access that other Uchiha held thanks to his Chimera gene.

He had sent Kiri instructions via letter, to meet him at the base of the mountain. Since he had very specific time constraints, it was best that Kiri made his way here immediately otherwise Yuuto would end up leaving. The spot Yuuto picked had many cliffs overlooking it, and then a large span of wide space surrounding it. It was perfect for if Kiri went out of control, he could restrain him. It took Yuuto some time but he was sure that his theory of Kiri's power was that of the Jinchuuriki. Now everyone knew there were tails of mystical beasts who held chakra beyond unimaginable power, however what they didn't know is that it didn't take a mystical creature it just took a being with an enormous reservoir of chakra. Most Jinchuuriki that Yuuto had read about were recorded to have conceived their link with a demon or a deity of some sort. Kiri's transformation was definitely more on the demonic end of things, but he needed to be sure. With the Sharingan now under his command he could utilize its power to view the way Kiri's chakra worked getting insight to his problems.

He'd wait for Kiri in the center of the open field, his only expectations were instructions to a location, that would allow the two to train once more. However if Kiri learned anything the first time, Yuuto was going to push him physically, mentally, and especially emotionally. The young Kiri would have a long way to go until he attained the level of control he sought over this dark power.

It was hard to live outside the village. He had almost forgotten how it felt like. Ever since he could remember when he was living on his own in the forest and before he met the caravan that would eventually take him to Kumogakure, Kiri had always been on his own, provided by his brother's experience, urged by the beast, and honing instincts to survive. But the life in the village was different. No matter how short it was compared to his nomadic life, it gave him a sense of belonging. That made him appreciate each person's presence, and in turn aspired to become better.

Of course, there were a lot of things that happened along the way. One of which was to form a sort of friendly rivalry that would turn into a brotherhood with Hoshi. Another was to find a consoling and ever watchful mentor, Osu. And then, there was the man who decided to give him a second chance in life and make him feel like there was home to return to, Junko. They were, perhaps, the key figures that really moulded him to be who he was at that moment, and he would never give a second thought to lay down his life for them.

But dying for another's sake didn't sound as cool as being able to protect them and survive to keep them happy. If anything, wouldn't his departure only cause them more grief? And so, Kiri was more than determined to become someone great who would only look towards a better future, where the thought of living together with everyone outweighed dying. And in doing so, he knew that meeting certain people was fate's design to help him achieve this. One such person, as enigmatic as he could be, was Yuuto. And after receiving that message from him, Kiri was eager to meet with him again.

Following the instructions, Kiri would head out to the location. The landscape would change around him as he ran across of the wide plains of Lightning Country until he would reach it. Finding the clearing, Kiri would stop in his tracks as he would look about him, making sure it was no trap. With his eyes sharp and his senses in full alert, he would approach the clearing with a careful gait, ready to act at any moment's call.

Kiri came into eyeview of the true Yuuto. In simple fashion, he had already summoned a Shadow Servant, who stood in the center of the clearing, while the real Yuuto sat on a ridge far above the clearing. His Sharingan was active giving him a clearer point of view of his new pupil. He would take out his black and woodgrain mic, funneling sound chakra through it while putting the device to his lips.

"Now would the real Masaru Yuuto please stand up, please stand up."

The fake Yuuto (Shadow Servant) began to disappear revealing that Kiri's instinct to be cautious was correct. However he wouldn't keep his presence hidden instead, the veteran shinobi jumped from the ridge pouring chakra into his feet and utilizing his shock absorbing muscles to lessen the impact of the landing on the ground. Yuuto would look extremely different from the last time Kiri saw him. Before he was slim, frail even, and had straighter white hair he wore into a pony tail. Now Yuuto was letting his natural curls show rocking a low fade. His skin was darker and his physique bulkier. He was in a weakened state due to the Chimera gene, and even though he stressed the gene more, he was better for it. His physical weakness corrected by the Steadfast DNA of the Manticore.

"What's up kid." Yuuto would say waving a hand at his newest pupil. With the Sharingan active he saw the bundled chakra of his entity inside him. Yuuto was interested by this kids chakra patterns never examining a Jinchuuriki before. "You've been keeping up the good work I see, your chakra looks stronger. Alright well I won't waste our time with small talk and basic chatter. Alright Kiri I have a handle of what you are, or what you are similar to. I've always found that with hard work and effort, we can overcome our natural ailments. In order to control your power, you need to use it more. You need to be in total control, It was obvious before that you are in no shape or form ready to control this new power inside of you. However I've come into a solution, as if a gift from Raiden I have received the eyes of the Uchiha. With the Sharingan under my control I can give you all the time you need to train with this new power.. or rather a longer timeframe than you'll ever receive normally. In order for this training, I need you to dig deep and activate as much of your chakra as you can, release that power again, and by the time you do I'll have already set Tsukiyomi upon you. -Yuuto pauses for a moment- Oh right Tsukiyomi, it's a Genjutsu that puts you into an illusional world. Time there feels infinite, what is minutes there is mili-seconds here. So while in that Illusional World we will separate your consciousness from your physical. In this world you will speak to your inner being, and you must begin to bridge a sturdy connection to have a better handle on the power."

Yuuto would enter a defensive stance, while furthering the tomoe in his eyes to shift and transform into the Mangekyou sharingan. With this he would wait for Kiri to unleash his power and then within the seconds of Kiri becoming more powerful Yuuto's Tsukiyomi would activate attempting to lace the mind of Kiri and throw him into an Illusional World, that was at the will of Masaru Yuuto, but Yuuto's will was to allow Kiri's mind and spirit to shape the Illusional World making a comfortable haven for the inner being of him.

[OOC]
-Yuuto is using Tsukiyomi after instructing Kiri to activate his cloaks
-Kiri may shape the Illusional World as he sees fit, and give a Sanctuary for him and his inner demon to communicate
-Yuuto will be there as well to facilitate the Genjutsu while Kiri and his beast linked up and intervene if need be
-Kiri has 2 Rounds (2 Posts) Within Tsukiyomi before it will end. If Kiri has not bridged a solid connection, the inner demon may take over and fight Yuuto while Kiri attempts to take over mentally

Kiri was right to not have to advance any further. Suddenly, he would hear Yuuto’s voice boom out loud into the clearing. Just then, the figure that was standing in the center of the clearing would disperse and Kiri would turn to look at Yuuto’s entrance. He was surprised at the latter’s appearance. It had been some time since they last saw each other and he was expecting the lean white-haired man from before. But before him stood a Yuuto that was muscular and short-haired, darker skinned, yet still the same voice and presence. He wondered what the other had in-store for him.

And it wouldn’t be long before he would hear Yuuto’s plans. At first, Kiri was a bit apprehensive at the thought of being engulfed into another genjutsu. While, he did hate it, he wasn’t much of a fan of the idea either. However, with what this could help him achieve was far too important to simply pass up. Not to mention that this would help stabilise his growth. Nodding, he would agree and then position himself.

Kiri would take in a deep breath as he felt the energy in his body begin to stir. With a sudden burst, he would let out his chakra with full force with a roar. At that point, his physique would change, to that of the black armored clad warrior with slightly longer white hair, and the chakra that trailed behind him would begin to solidify and form three tails.

And at that very moment, Kiri would also feel a sudden change of the world. Almost instantly, the world grew silent and a white space would surround him. While most would treat this as rather terrifying, for Kiri it was relaxing. This pretty much resembled his soulscape, even the aura that permeated the space was his. But of course, he was told prior to this that it was also a way for him to commune with his beast– with his brother’s soul who was, since that night after the rampage, was not too angry with him but also very distant.

In that world, Kiri’s jinchuuriki form did not exist. Instead, he stood as normally as he could, with a strange wind blowing across his face. Before him stood another existence, the soul that was once so ghastly and bestial, but had recently shed its shadowy veil and revealed a man. Blonde hair like him, taller, sharper features and red eyes. This was the brother he never met in real life, who lost his life to trivial clan rules, and the one who had always been there existing in Kiri’s soul, never leaving him. For the first time, Kiri was finally able to meet him face-to-face in his human form.
gdn65as.jpg

“Surprised?” asked his brother with a grin, before the smile disappeared and he seemed to glance about, “You have been rather fond of getting caught up in illusions recently.”

“Yuuto-san isn’t here to harm us,” answered Kiri.

“Oh? Are you sure?” then his brother would approach Kiri and only then would he notice that the surface wasn’t all white, but reflected water or some sort of liquid that rippled at the other’s each step. “It doesn’t matter. I could finally talk to you like this.”

“Yeah. I never dreamt I would be able to-“

A resounding slapping sound would echo as Kiri gets a walloping slap across the cheek, forcing him to stagger back. His brother then proceeded to grab him by his collar and hold him upright. “Wake up, Kiri. You can’t afford to wait any longer.” Then, he would release Kiri and put some distance between them. “That was for losing your sight of the goal and for wallowing in depression back then. I’m sure you’re already decided to get better, but I needed to make sure you are fully aware of my sentiments about that night you almost killed your friend.”

Despite the pain on his cheek, Kiri would straighten his stand and nod after being admonished. It was fairly strange as it felt like a normal scene in a family scenario where the young brat would would be reprimanded by the older brother. It pretty much was it, and Kiri was thankful for it. After all, he never had a promising childhood and whatever chance he had with his brother, may it be in his soulscape, or this illusion he was in, was more than welcome to him.

“Now then, shall we discuss your future?” said his brother.

Kiri agreed to his terms easy enough. The young shinobi's chakra system began to charge up getting more erratic. Energy literally leaked from Kiri as he became a bit more imposing and black armor began to overtake him. White hair grew from Kiri's head and his chakra created three "solid" tails behind him. He looked more mature than before, as if some growing had occurred. With the Mangekyou Sharingan now swirling around his eyes, the three eyed shinobi directed his vision on Kiri using Tsukiyomi and ensnaring him in the deep slumber Genjutsu.

Yuuto stood in the background wreathed in darkness still being the overlord of Tsukiyomi and at this moment he just wanted to observe Kiri and his entity's communication skills. Since they shared a body, and mental space he knew it was pointless to try and persuade it or Kiri in any other place than one of the ultimate eye illusions. Kiri's other half looked like a man, not a creature revealing himself to be someone close to Kiri. He was a bit taller, blonde hair, and had red eyes. The demon started off jabbing at Kiri verbally taunting him about the illusions. It was to be expected when you were fighting a Genjutsu expert. However they instantly tuned into the fact that without this they wouldn't be able to speak like this. Then suddenly he knocked Kiri down yelling at him to wake up. It seemed this being wanted Kiri to be tough, he was pretty hard on him with all the physicality but that simply showed Yuuto where he needed to strike at.

While they began to talk about discussing the future, Yuuto observed the outside body of Kiri stir. Half the time for Tsukiyomi had passed, they were dragging their feet a bit, but they would be able to get to know one another this way.

It was really strange, the way his brother’s voice sounded so fluidly, more than ever, or that his very presence in a human body was somehow imposing but also made him feel secure. Perhaps, there was at one point when Kiri had thought that perhaps he was born a demon, in the flesh of a beast in the same way that the cursed beasts of his clans would work with their souls. After all, how else would they be able to explain that a human in life would become a beast when their souls would be enslaved into their descendants as curses? But seeing his brother for the first time, remembering his parents not once mentioned nor showed him a photo, made Kiri all the more… happy.

Yes, he had been feeling lost for the most part of his growing up, and it took quite the heavy talking and ultimatum from Junko, Ayumu and even Osu to finally get him back into the right path. But he would still have a bit of doubt despite of it, because it was when the beast became silent. Now, however, with this opportunity, it felt like a large heavy burden had somehow been lifted from his shoulders.

“Tell me about mother,” said Kiri, his tone not one of commanding, but like of a child trying to gain his brother’s attention.

While it was important to get Kiri to think more of his future in a much serious sense, this request seemed to be more genuine and that was what his brother liked. So the other would acquiesced to the boy’s request. Standing close enough, he would let Kiri feel the chakra that was shared between them, forming like sparks behind a tingling sensation would be felt along the feet. Looking down, Kiri could see a darkness spread along the watery surface, originating from both his and his brother’s feet. The darkness would move fast and sweep across the surface in this borderless world, accents only showing a hint of reflection with the ripples that flowed on this black watery surface. And then, from the surface would tendrils rise, and Kiri could easily recognise them as the shadows he would also use.

“Our mother was born a Nara clansman, and between the two of us, you have inherited her will far more than I have,” said his brother as the tendrils would wave around into wisps that danced around them. “That is why we were cast away from the clan. Our souls were… impure to their standards, but in reality it was far from it. It was not that we were flawed. We were simply complete in form– our bloodline as Nara clansmen was the dark void you thought was the emptiness of the soul. It was not. It was simply unrecognisable, until you finally managed to call upon it.”

At those words, both Kiri and his brother would suddenly submerge into the black watery surface, entering what seemed like an underwater world of pitch black. But there was no suffocating feeling or suppression. Instead, it felt warmth and secure just like the white void that was his soulscape. Though pitchblack, Kiri could see his brother clearly, as well as the swirling shadowy wisps that continued to float around them, revolving.

“Do not be afraid, Kiri. When we were born, there was everything but doubt in our mother’s heart and that is what we inherited from her,” continued his brother. Reaching out a hand to hold Kiri’s head, the older one would smile. “You don’t need to ask. You know our mother as much as I do, and everything she did for us was real.”

“Then, what should I ask?” said Kiri.

“Anything. You know I’ll be here always,” his brother answered before letting go and being swallowed by the darkness. Just then, a current would violent blow against Kiri and the dark watery world would disperse and change itself into a forest. Here, the sight of the lichen on trees, the large roots on the ground, the sound of chirping birds, the scent of the wild, and the warmth of what little rays of the sun would pierce through the canopy of leaves against his skin was nostalgic. And before him would his brother appear once more.

“When our father tried to kill you and left you for dead, we both started here. In this forest. And when you traveled to Kumogakure, you found the forest there quite nostalgic as well. But that only made you stop moving forward. This may have been the beginning for the life you were supposed to lead, but you didn’t see it that way back then.” His brother then raised a fist to Kiri’s chest and gave it a gentle brush. “You don’t have to hold back anymore. You don’t have to linger in this place. You have a family worth protecting now. A family we can both call our own as possessively as we want to.”

Another shift, and this time Kiri would find himself returning into that black white void with his brother now standing right next to him, looking at the same direction as he was, seemingly seeing beyond the emptiness of the white world.

“You need to start decorating this world of yours. After all, your life isn’t as empty as it was before.” A tap on the shoulder and a push on the back sends Kiri staggering forward. But he would recover his balance and straighten his stand, now finding himself in front of the gates of Kumogakure. His eyes would look out at the large gates that were moving, closing up in front of him, and just past them, he could see the figure of Osu in the distance, probably waving, probably not. He didn’t know, but he remembered that day when he was given that family picture and told to return to them when he could finally make peace with himself.

Them– did not mean Osu’s family with Chiai and the twins. Them – meant the entirety of Kumogakure that accepted him from before and continue to do so. Them – who pushed hard and made him realise his errors and gave him that second chance.

And he felt the presence of his brother standing behind him, back against his own. “Shall we talk about the future?” his brother asked once more.

“No. Not the past nor the future. I want to talk about the present. I want to live,” answered Kiri and his brother smiled at those words.

“I see. Then let me start with… happy birthday to the two of us. Let’s make this life given by our mother worth living.” And turning to face Kiri, his brother would begin to disperse and turn into tiny spheres of light that enter his body. “Let your blood burn with power I posses. Let your heart roar towards the future. Let your soul yearn for the desires of the present. And remember that you are here for a reason. Don’t be afraid to lose your way, I’ll be there to get you back on track, just as I trust you to do the same for me.”

Kiri closes his eyes and nods with a composed breathing.

The scenery began to shift, Kiri was becoming more at peace with his inner self, more in control of the sanctuary that Yuuto had provided them both. Yuuto could sense Kiri's mental state becoming happier, more at ease and open. He could probably easily slide in a Genjutsu to will this in any way he saw fit, but this was not his place. While being the tutor, his student needed a chance to control the power on his own. He needed to be accustomed to its positives and negatives, it was the only way to truly get in tune with your latent abilities. Kiri confirmed that him and the demon were related asking him to recall "mother" meaning they were likely siblings.

Shadow Tendrils rose from the ground reminding Yuuto of Kiri's Nara lineage, one that they shared in common.

“Our mother was born a Nara clansman, and between the two of us, you have inherited her will far more than I have,”

Kiri's brother explained a bit more detailing that their origins were that of the Nara and their clan viewed them as impure. Apparently their shadows that they innately were loved by, were confused as some kind of dark void. It was sad, because the power they held were truly something to be marveled at. He had his lineage ripped out of him, a shade of what he should be but still these boy(s) held promise for the future of Nara and their offshoot kin. Then again he was probably just being sentimental to their plight because they shared ancestors... Right?

Kiri and his brother began to sink into the dark void beneath them, the world beneath the darkness began to pop out and create a new kind of scenery. They'd be in a lush forest where the Sonic King received more information of Kiri's past. He truly felt bad for the boy, a Clan that didn't love him, a Mother that passed??, a Father that tried to kill him? A Brother whose soul was now that of a demon and sealed inside of him?? All in all this was a regular shounen tragedy but the three eyed vagabond wanted to help his pupil, he felt it was an obligation now. Eventually the three of them went through another shift bring them back to the world of black and white. Yuuto however was beginning to lose control of the Tsukiyomi. He'd pour a burst of chakra into it in order to sustain it while he himself was pulled from the illusion giving Kiri a few more seconds with his brother.

-----------------------------------------
Real World

Now that he was back in the real world Yuuto's right eye was bleeding, strained from the usage of Tsukiyomi, it was a peaceful experience compared to the other time he used it, but that's likely because he didn't use it to injure someone, the Genjutsu being a reflection of all things created in the mental scape. Yuu would begin charging a ball of energy one of his more favorite jutsu, the Rasengan. He would infuse it with sound chakra creating an Amp'd Rasengan [Master Rank]. Yuuto was going to ram it into Kiri (While tracing it with the power of an illusion), however he'd wait to see how Kiri stirred.

Kiri was still in his Cloaked Form, meaning that the conversation hadn't ended, but it was about to and if Kiri did not come to a resolution he would likely become Berserk, in which Yuuto would be forced to smash his pupil with the Sound infused Rasengan.

[OOC]
-Really good post, So far Kiri has done a great job in communicating with his Jinchuuriki Spirit. The next part is up to you, feel free to RP becoming berserk or we can work towards the end of this if you feel Kiri has obtained enough practice with Spiritual Communication.

Kiri could feel the end of the illusion. The presence of his brother was leaving and so did the world around him. Soon enough, the void would crumble away, dissolving into the clearing that he remembered he had come to as per instructed by Yuuto. And at once, he could feel the energy of the Jinchuu in him surging out like a wave. The power was great and the desire was strong. But it was different from when he has lost control back at that night with Hoshi. The desire of the present, just as his brother said, was nothing of the sort of killing those who stood in his way. Instead, it was to drive out the madness of the Cursed Beast and take control.

Upon fully returning to the present, Kiri would immediately take a step away from the presence behind him. He felt an energy and was defensive as he turned to face Yuuto. Unsure at first, Kiri was set with his hand reaching for the sword he wore. But after a few moment's breath, he eased his muscles. He put away his hand from the hilt of the sword and he stood straight. Eyes were kept on Yuuto and though he was still in the Jinchuu form, he was aware of things.

"What's the next phase, Yuuto-san? You look hurt," he said noting the bleeding eye, "I may not be a full fledged mednin yet but I have this urge right now to heal that."

Yuuto watched as the Chakra inside of Kiri settled. The entire time it had been raging like a flame but finally it was calm. He looked on as Kiri began to stir reaching for his blade but then relenting. The boy would look up staring at Yuuto his expression and mannerism leaning towards him being in control. Kiri suddenly spoke to Yuuto confirming that this session had been a success. Kiri was going on about Yuuto looking injured and how he wanted to heal the blood, but he'd simply laugh and wipe his eye. The Sonic King would drop his sound infused Rasengan diffusing the jutsu entirely.

"Nah it's fine, this won't heal under normal circumstances. All I need is rest and relaxation, but you've done great here Kiri. There is no next phase today, you've done more than I thought you could accomplish. In such a short time too. I initially expected you to lose control a few more times but it looks like your innate ability to adapt is shining through. Thank your Nara lineage for that my pupil." Yuuto would sift through his bag pulling out a small scroll that he'd hand to Kiri.

"You can drop that form now Kiri. Take this scroll and begin to practice summoning from it. We're going to work on some more techniques to further your skills but for now I want you to begin storing numerous items in summoning scrolls and practice bringing them out. I want you to then further your training by learning how to store Chakra and eventually Jutsu in these scrolls. When I come back from my mission and you from yours, I'll have many more interesting techniques to teach you." Yuuto would close his right eye, shutting off the Mangekyou finally. He'd pack the few things he had simply giving Kiri a pass for their training.

"Is there anything you want to ask or discuss?" he'd stay to allow Kiri a chance to get anything lingering off his mind, but if not the two would part ways here setting themselves up to meet again down the line.

OOC
-Kiri has passed the Tutoring
-We can leave at this point or discuss more things, Up to you
-Yuuto tasks Kiri with learning Jutsu Sealing by the next time they meet

Before long, the tension would break. Yuuto would call for the end of the training and Kiri would nod. He takes a minute to settle himself before he shuts the leaking aura and his form returns to normal. He was still unused to it but it was a good start. He would have to work harder and better to finally be able to do things more smoothly and with more confidence.

Given the scroll, Kiri looked at it quizzically. He wanted to object and say he was bad at those but decided not too. It would appear as though it was a fitting challenge from his teacher and he would have to work on it. Besides, he now remembers that he could possibly make good use for it in the near future. In fact, it could be a trump card as he was also a swordsman.

He blushed lightly when his Nara lineage was mentioned. He still hasn't talked to people much about it but he was glad that the other didn't find it strange.

"I'll make sure to study this," he would answer as he kept the scroll. Then, he raised a brow and asked in return, "You're going somewhere?"

Kiri smoothly slid out of the transformation, showing his tremendous growth. It seemed like using Tsukiyomi to give them time to speak to one another was the right move. He accepted the scroll from Yuuto as well without questioning him. It was good that he knew how to follow orders and directives. There would come times when Yuuto did things that others would view as "crazy" but whenever he did something like this it was for the interest of the other party. Kiri said he would make sure to study this scroll, knowing that Yuuto expected it of him.

His next question was if Yuuto was going somewhere, the older shinobi simply pointing toward the mountains. I have a job up there, certain beasts I need to take care of. I'll also be leaving the village on a foreign exchange program to establish Diplomacy in Konoha. I'm not sure how long I'll be gone for, but it will be a while. That means when I return I should see an even larger growth from you." Yuuto would give Kiri time to ask any questions of him. There was no rush just yet, so this would be the boy's only window to let his mind wander.

As he listened to the latter's response, Kiri was a bit surprised at the thought that the latter was in some kind of a demon hunt. Needless to say, it somehow got him interested but perhaps he can pursue such topic later on. Then, learning that the other was to be traveling to Leaf Kiri couldn't help but perk up. He was, after all, born in Leaf though his experience was far from being a memorable one.
